OoC: It's sort of like the Wolf's Rain plot. Sorry for the unoriginality. I haven't RP'd in a while, so I really couldn't think of anything better.
The world is coming to an end. Some people have locked themselves in their thouses, and others have committed suicide in order to escape the end of human existence. The roads are barren wastelands. The towns are ghost lands; you can't even hear a soul whispering.
Furries have always lived besides humans - always getting the short end of the stick. They knew before the humans that the world was going to end and tried to warn them - but none of them listened. They thought they were speaking lies, and proceeded to harass them even more.
When the humans finally accepted the fact, it was already to late. They blamed the furries, driving them to the ends of the earth in a racial persecution, but eventually they gave up. What was the point, anyways?
These days you rarely see the human species outside of their houses. As for the furries - well, there aren't that many left. Only a good hundred or two are left and are scattered across the globe. Other creatures have emerged since the beginning of the end - grotesque creatures that live to hunt down man and furry kind. The weather is unpredictable; sometimes storms whip out of nowhere. The seasons are screwed up, and many plants have died as a result of that.
Meet Gáire - a young fox who is just trying to find some answers in life before hers ends. Will you assist her, or will you watch from a distance?
BiC:
The end of the world. The papers screamed that headline for the past year, along with billboards, television, and anything else that could send it into the world. Eventually the message died - or rather, the means to disperse the information faded away. These days it was rare to hear another voice if you stepped out into the world.
Down an alleyway, a young fox was curled up into a ball. Her auburn fur was puffed out against the chill, and in her sleep she pulled her leather jacket around her shoulders closer to her. Her tail was tucked by her legs, and her whole body shook from the cold.
A little snap of a twig woke up the fox. She opened her gray eyes to spot a mouse. Its light chestnut coat was trembling, and its ebony eyes were opened wide. The fox yawned widely, scaring the mouse away.
"Oh darn," she muttered, stretching out. "I should have caught that. I might not have another meal for a few days." She stood up and moved her limbs.
Something crinkled under her paw. She shifted slightly and noticed it was a newspaper.November 23rd, 2345, the newspaper read. But by the way the sky was looking right now - a light purple - the fox would have guessed it was late April.
She lifted her muzzle towards the sky, and watched the powder blue clouds swirl around in the sky. Another storm was approaching fast.

(Joining if it's fine with you)
Sleek fur matted to her skin, a starving jaguar happened upon a mouse scurrying away from Gáire. Snapping it up in a simple flick of her neck, Kahlua looked about, smelling more warmth and meat from somewhere. Growling softly, she paces silently towards Gáire and sniffs the air again.
-
(I'm not going to interact with Gaire, but I will be assisting from the rp sidelines)
Strolling down the street and still full from his last meal, a wolf with black and green fur happens upon two boys fighting over a loaf of bread, one of them pulls out a knife and tries to fight the other off. Before either of them were wounded, He walked up to them, and with the same guts that kept him alive his entire life, he takes the loaf...and threw it into a nearby alleyway that two furs were in. "Now, get out of my sight before I decide to make humans my next scource of food" he said with a murderous glint in his eyes, and they both scattered, one of them leaving the knife behind, which the wolf quickly swiped up and put away in his trenchcoat before continuing to stroll down the street.

(if it's ok i'd like to join aswell :D)
A pitch black wolf was trotting across the plains, his belly grumbling. Nibbling on plants wouldn't do. He had to find food, and he had to find some quick. It was just then that Ambrose spotted a hare. A rather large one at that, and he set off at a sprint, getting speed faster, faster, faster. He was on it's heel now, any moment and it would be his, and the next moment it was. He went on all fours and got a small bite at one of it's legs, it stumbled, with a large crack, Ambrose had broken it's neck. This was his first meal in days, and he enjoyed every bite of it. In the distance he saw something. If it was alive, it would've been too big for him to hunt anyways.
-
OoC: Thanks for joining!! :D
BiC: Gáire froze when she spotted the jaguar. All of the fur on her neck stood up, and her claws came out instictively. This wasn't a reaction she would have liked to used; before the Chaos she used to full-heartedly embrace strangers.
Now hunger, desperation, and fear drove her into a corner. Her ears were angled slightly back, and her tail was tuffed out. She went on all fours and took a nervous step forward.
Suddenly, a loaf of bread flew over her head. She skidded back and let out a slight growl.
Sniffing the air, she jumped over a Dumpster and poked at the bread. It hadn't been bitten out of yet, and it wasn't too stale. She almost started eating it when she looked back at the jaguar. Carefully, she scooted the bread in offering.
"Have a bite," she rasped. "You must be starving."
-
The jaguar shook her head, sitting and curling her tail around her legs. She watched Gáire with shadowed eyes and then smiled sweetly. "No thank you. I am quite full." She replied in a gravelly, masculine voice. The arch of a lighter black eyebrow signified her curiosity but her pose suggested respect and knowledge in ways of conduct only known to elder furs from her village.
-
It was when Ambrose finished his meal did he stand up to see that the thing in the distance was actually a town. He couldn't tell if it was large or not, but it had to have someplace away from the cold. At first he started to walk, not truly believing the reality of the town, but as he got closer, it became more real than anything. At this, he began to jog. Ambrose would've gone full sprint, but he had just eaten something and didn't want to risk a stomach cramp hindering his progress.
-
The wolf continued down the street until it found a locked gunshop that looked surpirisngly untouched Probably wasn't looted before everyone went into hiding he thought as he walked up to one of the windows, grabbed the sledgehammer that was strapped to his back, and slammed it against the window, shattering it entirely. Then, he leaped through the window, being careful not to step on any glass, and took a desert eagle as a side-arm, some ammo, and a gauss sniper rifle he found in the 'specialty' section. Then he stepped out of the store and made his way to the rooftops...
-
OoC: I can't reply again until tomorrow; sorry!
BiC: She grasped the bread in her jaws, savoring the meal. Even though it wasn't exactly what she would have liked, she enjoyed it nonetheless. Within a few seconds the entire loaf was gone. She licked her muzzle and started licking her paw.
"So, what brings you hear? Many furries try to stay out of the towns as much as possible."
-
"I could ask the same of you, little one." She replied, laughing softly. Uncoiling and extending her paws to stretch, Kahlua stood up. "I fear we must move to somewhere safer. A storm is on the horizon, we must go." She growled lightly, eyes gleaming as she walked up to Gáire, picked her up by the scruff of her neck, and started to trot off toward town.
-
By the time Ambrose had heard thunder he was half-way to the town. As he stopped dead in his tracks, lightning struck the ground in the far off distance. It was then and there that Ambrose decided that he wasn't going to be in this storm in the open, and he set off full-sprint so he would have time to search for a good place to hide, his coat billowing behind him.
-
Once the wolf reached the roof and saw that everyone was heading to town, he put away his rfile, and started to sprint to the next town, trying to stay out of sight....

(Joining if you have room :P )
The rabbit sat before a small fire sheltered in an abandoned storeroom. pieces of starved human perched over the flame on a makeshift grill using old wire. He picked a shred of meat up, resisting the urge to wretch as he forced it into his mouth, viciously chewing to get it down quick without choking. Once swallowed, he sat back onto the tails of his shirt.
"Blech," he said aloud, "It's not even good enough to fill me up." The rabbit stared out the window to the coloured sky as a lightning bolt danced across behind the smoke of his fire rising out and away into the open air. He knew others would be coming to take what food he had, but in this weather, there was nowhere to go. He sighed, and picked up a slice of arm.
(update, OOC: wont be here for a couple of hours, something has come up.)
-
It already started raining when Ambrose was about 100 yards away from the town. As much as he would've like to sit out there and bask in the rain, there was lightning and the one thing didn't trust, was electricity running through his body involuntarily. As he entered he town he saw that for the most part it was abandoned, but those remaining were inside. He needed to get somewhere fast, so he searched the town for any opening into a building where he would feel safer.
-
The wolf, upon reaching the half-way point, notices someone outside the town, trying to find a way inside "Theres always the windows, boy!" he shouted as he closed the gap between them and quickly went into town
-
Off in the distance he hears someone yell something about windows, and stops running, walks to the closest window, and smashes it with his bare fist, causing some deep cuts. "I'll have to fix it later" he told himself as he jumped into an apartment complex.
-
Upon finishing his unsavoury meal, Asia smothered the flames with the dead Human's coat, stamping it out dead. He picked up the two Sai at the left of the fire, and slotted them to his belt. So that he would not suffer from illness, he stood ready to give a strong kick. He ran to the human carcass, powering his foot and launched the body out through the window. "Goal!" he said, a fist in the air as he ran in a miniature victory lap. Once over, he looked through the window, noticing the storm building. Once he closed the windows and grabbed an old and dirt covered blanket, He lay it over himself as he set down to rest before the storm. He stared to the ceiling, wondering where his next meal would appear. He couldn't scavenge of the dead forever.
-
The wolf entered the town, and started searching for areas that held any lootable items. Any that were already looted or had none, he marked the door with a red spraypainted 'x' and if the area was not already looted, he marked it with an 'o'. After that, he went into a storeroom, sledgehammer at the ready for any would-be attackers..
-
As the storeroom door creaked open, Asia burst from the blanket, grabbing a plank of charred wood before darting round a pile of crates. He crept around to the other side behind the crates, peering out to identify the intruder. At the door he found a trenchcoat covered wolf, standing ready wielding a sledgehammer. Knowing full well the difference in weaponry and the only exit being that door, the rabbit took a breath. With eyes shut, hoping to heaven that he would not regret it, he called out, "Hey, er... there isn't much in here you know. Just me and my stick." He breathed a nervous laugh as he waved the planked of blackened wood out past the crates, before he himself stepped out, his large brown eyes, sizing up the wolf, curious as to where he found such an arsenal strapped about his person.
-
"Considering that there are alot of places that havn't been looted, I figured someone would be hiding out in a store room...and that they would have supplies" the wolf replied as he lowered his hammer and started to walk out. Heading to more unmarked areas...
-
The rabbit stared silent for a second before calling out to the wolf. "Hey wait, where are you going? You do realize there's a storm coming, right?" He jogged softly up to the wolf's side, "And plus, there may be supplies but it's not like there's much food anywhere. I should know, I've resorted to eating dead guys." The rabbit stopped for a moment to think about what he just said. "Well, I guess you wouldnt mind that. But I cant live like that forever. I need real food, like vegetables, you know?"
-
"good luck finding greens that havn't already perished" the wolf jokingly pointed out as he walked towards a house that he hadn't marked, and from the looks of it, wasn't abandoned...
-
"There's gotta be something. There's always something," the rabbit's voice lowered to a hushed whisper as they approached the house, "and I'll eat as many humans as I have to get just one..." the rabbit began to creep as they cam up close to the door. "... more... carrot."
-
He had found a peculiar assortment of close-ranged weaponry in the room he happened to be in. The was a broadsword, a Katana, some batons, throwing knives, a couple of bloodied katars, and more. The first thing he walked up to was the Katana, and finding the appropriate sheathe he wrapped it around his waist, under his coat. Then he walked over to the throwing knives, and sat down a while, using the inside pockets of his coat as their containers. The he walked to the katars, and put his hands threw the handles, and tested them out. Satisfied with the way they could be used, he put the two inside his coat, below the knives. Done here, he walked into the kitchen to see what salvageable food could be in there. After a few hours of tearing the place apart he found about 12 bags of beef jerky, all different brands and flavors. The only thing he needed now, was a bag to hold them in, but there was no other room in the Apartment other than the bathroom. Then, getting a very inspirational idea, he walked over to a wall, and knocked on it. Pleased with what he learned, he walked back into the bedroom, and walked back out with a small nightstand in his arms.
The two others suddenly hear a very, very large crash, some screaming, yelling fighting, and then nothing...
-
Looking around, the wolf smiles "Looks like I'm not the only one raiding for food.." he said as he enters the house, and upon reaching the room before the kitchen, he was attacked by a human with a white hood on, chanting "Die you mutant filth, Die, die, die!!". The wolf didn't even attempt to disarm the human as he drew his sledgehammer, and swung for the head, and connecting quite bloodily. Then he got inside the kitchen, and took a few cans of soup, a bag of jerky, and some surprisingly fresh vegtables. Then he walks out, not bothering to clean any blood on his coat...
-
"Err... right then, I guess I'll just wait out here," the rabbit said as the wolf burst in spreading blood. As he returned, the rabbit continued with a grin and eyes slightly wider, "Well that sounded exciting. I love the bloodsoaked look." As he looked the wolf up and down, he noticed the contents of the haul. His voice went dead as he stared agape; mouth watering. "Are those... You got veg!" The rabbit snatched the greenery from the wolf and stole a bite off a lettuce leaf. His eyes closed, savouring the taste. "Mmm this is heaven." Looking around, he found a tossing bag, caught on a post nearby. The rabbit placed the veg inside before running back to the wolf and slamming against him in an embrace. He squeezed and looked up to the wolf's face. "Thankyou sir, you are a star." Releasing the wolf, he held out a paw to be shook, "My name's Asia by the way. Asia Kali."
-
"You...are very dead, i may be a carnivore, but that was not for you..." the wolf said, pulling out his desert eagle, grabbing the rabbit around the neck, and aiming it at his temple...
-
Get's thrown out of a window, holding a large backpack, and shoving the food into it. Once the gang of humans gets to close he zips it and chucks it a ways away. One of them grabs a hold of his collar, and lifts him up.
"We're gunna cook you up, you mutant filth!!", the gang leader said
"Hahahahahaha..."
"What?"
"Good Night", and suddenly the gangster fell over. Dead. The others were astonished, not ever has a 'mutant' killed somebody so easily before, and got away with it. The other three charged at him, and one was taken out with one of the throwing knives, while the other was stabbed in the eye, and the last gangster's neck was snapped. "Petty humans..." he told himself as he retrieved his weapons, cleaned them, and search for suitable weapons on the gangsters, but only the leader had a 4 inch switchblade. This was deposited into his pocket. After he grabbed his bag, he picked up the two more muscular gangsters, and dragged them along for meals later on. Then he began searching for a place to sleep and eat in the quiet for tonight, before he got on the move again.
-
"Huh, whoever thought a wolf would freak out over a bag of veg," the rabbit said with a smile, staring at the face of his new enemy. With a swift and smooth movement, he raised his arm and forced the gun to point away as he brought his powerful legs up, ready to blast against the wolf's chest, hopefully tearing at his body in the process whilst propelling the rabbit away.
-
"Wrong move" the wolf said, increasing the pressure of the grip, then slamming the rabbit to the ground*
-
"Ha ha! OK, that was a bit stupid, I will admit that." The rabbit's eyes widen, blazing with excitement. His voice becoming more frantic, giggling more explicitly. "But well it's such nice veg and you don't really need it, do you? Of course you do, just like I need to eat dead people." His eyes dart around, looking at you then to your gun, up and down your body, to your arm and to the surrounding street. "I can give you the stuff back if you like... well obviously not all of it. Well I could give you that, but you wouldn't want it, trust me." His laughter bursts out of him like a sneeze, suddenly the rabbit looks to the left. "Ooh 'ello!" he cries.
-
The bag on his back, and the bodies on his shoulders he stops dead in his tracks when the rabbit said "Hello". Earlier he was surprised when an unknown voice told him about the windows, and this was even stranger because nobody has openly said "Hello" to him for as long as he could remember. Shaking his head a little, he looks at the wolf, and the gun and realizes pretty much what's going on. The rabbit was about to die. That much was for sure, but smelling the bodies or as long as he had, and they smelled awful. "Hey, want one?", he asked the other wolf as he slowly approached. Then he smelt blood, and dropped the bodies and looked at his hand. He had forgotten all about fixing it, and it will still bleeding. Some of it sealed up, but the majority was still bleeding down his arm. He was sure that some of got on one of the gangster's shirts. After sniffing his hand, he instantly became aware of other various wounds that were dealt during the small brawl and he fell to one knee, now very exhausted, and his vision was somewhat blurred.
Now having a flashback of the events, he had gotted hit upside the back of his head by a wooden bat, after wards he had dispatched the one who hit him, but suddenly he was being beaten down by about 5 gangsters who had jumped up their little campfire and began their assault, beating him down. Not too long later, he got thrown out of a window, and he managed to grab a bag on his way out, somehow still holding the bags of beef jerky. Landing on most of the glass, now many many scratches on his back, enough to make you think he had been whipped.
After the flashback, he fell to the ground, and passed out...
-
"Ugh," the rabbit dropped his head back onto the concrete. "Well so much for a distraction." He looked back up to his enemy. "You know, today's has not been a normal day," he looked back to the fallen wolf. "Do you think he's alright?" he said. "Oh look, he dropped his jerky."
-
"the veg is not for you, and its not for me, which is why I'll end your existance if you don't give it back right now" the wolf replied, not even bothering with the other wolf...
-
Gáire yelped when the jaguar picked her up in her jaws, and was surprised at her strength. Gáire was still growing, but she was far too old to be carried around in another's jowls. Instead of trying to resist she let herself dangle, embarrassment washing through her.
She sniffed the air and felt a raindrop kiss her on the nose. "We should find shelter," she said. "Before it gets too bad."
-
Nodding gently, Kahlua trotted a bit faster and flipped Gáire over her shoulder, letting go to have her fur hook into the fox.
"Keep hold, I run fast."
She dodged a few people hanging in the street and blasted through a door with a snarl. Her eyes glowed brightly as the light outside started to fade and a clap of thunder shook the foundation of the building. Shivering, the jaguar arched her back and purred lightly.
"How long have you been in this city?"
-
"Ever since I could open my eyes," she began. She started washing herself, talking between strokes. "My mother died during the Riots, and my father left a while ago to pursue a career in monster hunting. He hasn't been back in a while...." Her voice trailed off, and she looked outside. The rain was hitting the window panes with an unprovoked aggression, and lightning streaked the violet sky outside.
"I'm not sure if he's even alive anymore."
-
"RIGHT! Of course, you wouldn't want to eat this veg, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't have friends who would. I do apologise. Here," the rabbit raised the back of vegetables between them. His eyes were calmer, softer, and instead of darting about, they looked into the wolf's face, almost in admiration. "You gonna let me go then?"
-
"Ah, so as far as you know, you are without guidance? How sad, my dear." She replied in a silky voice. Eyes watching the rain slam into the windows, Kahlua sat beside Gáire and nuzzled her affectionately, stomach growling.
-
The wolf, somewhat grateful that he didn't have to waste ammo, takes the veg and then pushes the rabbit away and took two of the wolf's bags of jerky. Then he sniffed the air for foxes, and found a single scent, following it to a house that looks like the door was just recently blasted down...
-
The rabbit darted out into the street, hopping about and laughing. "Oh wow that was crazy! Woo! Hahaha, OK I gotta be more careful now. Thanks for letting me go." As the rabbit looked back to wolf, he found nothing, save for the one sprawled on the ground and covered in blood and bodies. "Oh, OK then," the rabbit said as he ran his paws along his ears.
"Now what do we have here?" the rabbit whispered to himself as he crept to the pile on the floor. Pushing the bodies off with his feet, he found the wolf, loaded with food and knives. Upon rummaging through the wolf's pockets, he found many throwing knives and a 4-inch switchblade. "Well it's something I guess," he said to himself as he robbed the wolf of his possessions. He picked up the bag of jerky and sneered at it, "Well at least I had one bit of veg today. No wolf can take that from me." Shouldering the bag, he looked back down to the bloodied wolf, watching him in a perturbed sleep. "Don't look at me like that," the rabbit said, despite the wolf's eyes being closed. "Dammit, why do I keep making mistakes like these. But then every rabbit needs friends. It's in your blood to be social." With these words, he picked up the wolf and dragged him along the street to the nearest occupied house, hoping for supplies. The door of said house had apparently been blasted down.
-
(chrono never been so mean to me b4 :'( )
Eyes fluttering open he finds himself being dragged by a bunny... That wasn't weird at all... Then he realized that some of his knives had been looted, along with some of his jerky. It was in that instant he looked up at the bunny, saw that he had some of the jerky, and knives. Using all of the strength he had he snatched the jerky from the bunny, opened it with his claws, and started eating it as fast as he could. Once done with the bag he took the knives back, and put them in their pockets except for the switchblade. That he let the bunny keep for what seemed like helping him out. And what he had seen earlier, he knew that the bunny would need it.
-
The rabbit dropped the wolf, shocked at this blur of movement, stealing almost all of his hard stolen possessions. He leaped backwards, before jumping high onto the roof of the occupied house. "Well hold on now, i know I took all your stuff, but it's rude not to ask for it back." The rabbit padded himself down, finding the switchblade still with him. "Well thanks for that I guess, though a little jerky would not have gone amiss. Ah screw it, I'll find some proper food," the rabbit said before creeping to the back end of the roof and slipping in through a second floor window to a green bedroom with various snacks strewn about. He gathered what he could and ate half. "Some people just don't appreciate the value of company," the rabbit whispered to himself.
-
He struggled to stand up, but once he did he felt fine. Checking his bag, he noticed that two bags of jerky had been taken. Assuming that it was the other wolf, he didn't mind. It was him after all, he reasoned, that gave you the window tip. Looking up at the rabbit, he took out a full bag, and a half-full bag, and threw them both inside as he burst into an abandoned home to search for medical supplies.
-
As the rabbit searched the upper floor, he could hear voices from downstairs. Keeping quiet, he crept through to the next room through a corridor. Despite a horrendous mess, causing him to walk on all fours just to navigate, he found a large handblade. It appeared ornamental but it would have to do. He slotted it in his belt and continued to search, finding more snacks but nothing substantial, he would have to raid the kitchen for that, but for now he decided to search some more. With a degree of sifting around in the tip, he found a Beretta. It was still loaded but it wouldn't last forever. At least it was something. Finally he stole a black cap with "The Rockoons" sewn into the side, before leaving that room to slip into the next.
-
The wolf enters the door, and looks around "Hello, anyone still here?"
-
Hearing a familiar voice, the rabbit froze and got to his knees, planting his ear to the ground.
-
Finding a first aid kit, he sits himself down on a couch, and starts working on his hand. Once bandaging that up, he pulls out some large band-aids to cover up the deeper cuts on his face, and other parts of his body, shoulders, torso, legs, etc. Once finished he soon realized that this home isn't as abandoned as it seems, as two humans walk through the front door, their guns pointed outside to the rabbit, and wolf, both of the humans wielding FN FNPs. Pulling out his Katars he quickly walks up to the two, and stabs them both in the throat. As they fall over, he grabs both of the guns, and puts them in his jean pockets, then loots the two humans, and finds enough ammo to last him a while. Putting the spare ammo into his bag, and his business done with patching himself up, he lays on the couch as it begins to rain.
-
Leaping up with a snarl, the jaguar bounded towards Chrono, eyes flashing protectively. Her tail lashed back and forth, fur standing up on end as Kahlua vaulted toward the wolf. A savage roar ripped from her maw and she landed a foot from him.
-
The wolf stepped back as he drew his sledgehammer "I really don't want to fight, I just need to know, is there a fox in the house with you?" the wolf asked with concern in his eyes
-
She snarled moodily. "It depends. Who's askin'?" Kahlua shot back, tail still lashing. She sat down and began to clean her paws, still watching Chrono with a mildly aggravated look.
-
Falling asleep on the couch, he has horrific dreams about recent events, things to come, things that may be, and things that may have been. He starts making a yelping noise in his sleep.
-
OoC: There are different themes for each little part of the roleplay. The first one is this:
Is it fate that people meet, or just coincidence?
BiC: Gáire froze at the scent of the wolf. Wolves had never gotten along with foxes; it was an old rivalry dating back to the first furry. Her lips drew back, revealing her teeth. She was prepared to fight if the jaguar needed it, even though Gáire was about half the size of the wolf.
-
Asia listened intently to the events unfolding below him. He repeated their words back to himself in inaudible whispers, memorising it, along with the sound of their movements along the bottom floor.
-
"Uh...I'm asking, I'll leave if its not the fox I'm looking for..." the wolf said, hoping against the idea that the jaguar will pounce him in response..
-
"Name of the fox?" She growled, eyes narrowing as she settled into a defensive stance. "You look strong, wolf. I would say it's safe to assume you are a guard of some sort?"
-
"No...I just wasted most of my life hunting monsters, but the side benefits of inner and outer strength are helpful..." the wolf replied, looking at the ground with some shame.
-
"Ah. I see." She purred, expression softening a little. "What importance is the fox to you?" Her voice returned to its gravelly state, sounding more masculine than feminine. She straightened a little but kept herself mostly on the defensive.
-
Jumping out of bed while drawing his katana, he slashes at the air. Sweating a little from his dream, he sheathes the sword, and walks outside. After walking about a block, he looks into a building to see a jaguar, and a fox. The Jaguar seemed to be talking to someone, but he couldn't see who.
-
"Would you believe me if I said my daughter was a fox?"
-
Ears twitching at the wolf's words, she covered her maw. Could that have been her father? But he hadn't returned for her yet - she always assumed he was dead.
Now, however, there was a wolf claiming to have a fox for a daughter. How many wolves had foxes for children?
She scooted out from behind her hiding place, her tail bristled. The wolf before her was older-looking than her father had been, and had several scars that she couldn't remember her father having.
-
He crepts inside the house, slowly trying to avoid detection, while trying to listen in on the conversation between them
-
She froze, staring at him. "What?" A sudden queasiness and longing for home made her stumble. "I, guess you could see her..." She replied in a hollow voice, stepping aside so Gáire could be seen fully. Her fur flattened and she slinked off to the corner of the room, plopping down with a soft thump.
-
The wolf almost dropped his sledgehammer when he saw the fox "Gáire...is that really you...or just another case of mistaken identity?"
-
The rabbit gasped at the sudden turn of events, but immediately covered his mouth, hoping nobody heard amidst all the commotion. Internally, he screamed with laughter.
-
Inside, she was bursting with joy. But a small speck of suspision pricked at her heart. "Dad.... Why didn't you come back?" She whispered, her voice growing steadily louder. "I've been waiting for you!"
She sprang up and wrapped her arms around her fathers waist. "I've been waiting for you..." Tears whelled up in her eyes.
-
"Because I was stupid enough to leave you and go monster hunting, earning a few scars, a stronger body, and alot of personal grief for abandoning my daughter..." The wolf replied, almost on the verge of tears...
-
OoC: :( So sad! xD
BiC: Suddenly, a screech echoed throughout the town. Gáire tucked her ears down and grabbed her father tighter, the sound penetrating her ears. Her tail fluffed up, she glanced outside of the window. To her horror she saw people running down the streets with scarlet serpents chasing after them. They were about ten feet long, with venemous barbs on their tails and backs.
"Vervii," she choked. Going to the window, she pressed her muzzle against it. "But the monsters never come into town.... Why now... ?"
Blood sprayed against the glass, and she jumped back. "We've got to get out of here."
-
"Correction, you have to get out of here with the food I brought you, I will put my skills to work and clean up this attack" The wolf replied as he walked outside and drew out his gauss rifle, taking a well-aimed shot at the serpent, knocking it unconsious, if better, dead.

"O-okay," she stuttered, grabbing the food her father had brought her. She motioned to the jaguar. "Come on - we have to get out of here!"
-
Asia stood up, and searched the room in a final sweep to find supplies before he left.
-
Hearing the painful screech, Kahlua leaped to her feet and slammed into what was left of the door. Several of the serpents stopped and turned toward her, hissing hungrily. As though she could hear the screaming of Gáire and her father, the panther ran outside, darting through the streets with the ugly snakes on her feet.
-
(For the record, I never screamed)
The wolf jumps on another snake, and pulling out his desert eagle, empties a few rounds into its head, and as he gets off the falling serpent, he looks at the panther. "As far as I can tell, you're the closest she has to a mother, I can't let you join this fight..."
-
Once the rabbit had gathered a stack of bullets and a half eaten sandwich, he leaned out the window to take in the view. Hearing the wolf and seeing the panther run past, he called down, "She's apparently already in the fight whether you like it or not, Mr Veggy." The rabbit flashed a smile before leaping to the neighbouring rooftop.
-
(Neither of you did, she imagined it.)
The panther stopped, chest heaving as she gulped air. "I can take care of myself, thank you." Her eyes flashed in a dangerous display of raw power as she looked the wolf up and down. "You abandoned her, it's your job to watch over her now." She shot moodily, jumping back and slashing open an advancing snake.
-
The wolf grumbles and leaves the panther as he heads straight towards his daughter, killing another serpent with his rifle along the way..
-
"Nice," the rabbit commented, admiring the fight from above as he lay on the roof, occasionally looking around to make sure no snakes had sneaked onto the roof despite his most excellent hearing.
-
Thinking about it carefully, Kahlua bounded up to the house and looked at the wolf and Gáire sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I've been alone for a long time, I didn't mean to come off so offensively.."
-
"So have I, which is why I decided to fight them while both of you get away"
-
She shook her head. "No, that's not a good idea. She just got you back." Kahlua replied, tail flicking as she formed a plan. "I've got an idea."
-
"That would be?" The wolf replied, cocking an eyebrow at her
-
"Yeah dont leave us hanging, sister!" the rabbit called as he embedded some rounds into a stray and adventurous serpentine creature.
-
(What are you shooting with?)
"First of all, stop following me!"
-
(I found a Beretta back on page 3)
"I'm not following you, I was in the local area and I thought I'd drop by, plus you never know, I might be your secret half brother, what with all these family ties surfacing." Asia chuckled to himself and lay back down on the roof, looking down on the chaos.
-
The jaguar grabbed Asia by the scruff of his neck and pulled him inside. "Stop shooting and they'll go away." Looking at the walls, she smirked. "These walls are made of plaster. If we hit them hard enough, they'll collapse the building. I'll lead the scaled devils in here and you hit the walls to kill them. I'll survive, no problem."
-
"You being related to me is less likely than the panther being my sister..."
-
"Roger that boss lady," the rabbit saluted jogged on the spot, before stretching in preperation for a magnificent kick. As he stretched, he replied to the wolf, "Dude, your daughter's a fox. You can't say that that's not pretty weird."
-
"My name is Kahlua. I would prefer to be called as such, not Boss lady." She snarled, poking him in the chest with a sharp claw.
-
"Okay, Miss Kahlua" The wolf joked...
-
The rabbit rubbed his chest with almost a pout on his face, "No need to get all tetchy, Kahlua. By the way, I'm Asia. Nice to meet you."
-
"Pleasure." She purred back. Blood splattered the window again. "Ew.... WE have to hurry. Those things are tricky and smarter than the people in this town.... " Kahlua looked around and padded toward the door, wincing as the hissing and screeching grew louder in her ears.
-
"Don't worry, we got this," the rabbit chirped as jogged slightly back, lining himself up, sidelong to the wall. He prepped himself like a runner at the starting blocks.
-
"Good. Now wait for my signal. I'm goin' to round me up some snake!" She chuckled, trotting to the door, looking back to wink at Chrono, and disappearing outside to the accompaniment of screeching, hissing and screaming. The crisp, rain-like smell and feel of impending nightfall danced along her fur, making her smile. A few hissing snarls came from her right and Kahlua danced to the left, giggling. More hisses came from around her and she danced this way and that, laughing as the Verrii tried in vain to snap at her.
"Come and get it, my friends!" She cackled, standing on her back legs and wriggling around.
-
"I guess I should take aim at the walls instead" the wolf replied, taking his rifle and aiming it where he believed the support coloumns would be.
-
"Just make sure you don't shoot me," the rabbit grinned, "whether it be by accident or not."
-
"I won't unless Gaire finds it funny..." the replies with a smile..
-
Leaping away from the fangs of yet another snake, Kahlua darted down the street, eyes on the door of the makeshift home. "Three seconds!" She yelled, barreling into the room and slamming into the closest wall. Her head spun for a second, eyes rolling around as she regained herself. The Verrii slammed into the room and reared up, eyes watching her mockingly. She knocked the wall in and the building began to collapse.
"GET OUT!" She roared, falling in the way of the crumbling roof to keep Gaire out of harms way.
-
Upon hearing the scream, Asia tore through to the room of snakes, grabbing Gaire by the scruff of the neck without missing a step and launched himself feet first, fox in tow, through the wall's supports. Barrelling outside, with dust and mortar filling the air they looked back as the buillding was collapsing.
-
Laying on her stomach, she howled and snarled, slashing uselessly at a large piece of roofing that'd fallen on her tail, pinning her down. Kahlua screeched and bit the few snakes still alive. Her claws scrabbled across the concrete in a desperate attempt to dig herself out. She swore nastily and finally pushed her hind legs underneath her, flexed and strained, launching herself into the air and digging into the ground. Her tail pulled loose, minus a few tufts of fur, and she slammed into the only two walls left, dragging Chrono out with her.
"Ouch... See if my tail is broken, will you?"
-
"Well its not bleeding, does it hurt when I do this?" the wolf asked, stroking the panther's tail...
-
She shook her head, laughing. "Nope. Just stings a little."
-
"Then either you're still running on adrenaline, or its just a bruise..." The wolf quickly replied
-
She laughed, standing up and hugging Chrono lightly. Her lean body showed ribs that poked out of her skin.
-
"Dang, do I have to get food for you too?" the wolf joked, poking at her exposed ribs
-
Kahlua chuckled and poked him back. "I guess you do..."
-
"When you two are done flirting, I've got a traumatised here who needs her dad, or mum or whoever you lot want to be," Asia put the fox back to her feet. "I think she's traumatised, she's awfully quiet."
-
Suddenly appears, clapping. "That was a nice show. Here, take this. You need it more than I do." he said tossing the big bag full of smaller bags of jerky at the panther.
-
OoC: Ah! Sorry! I had to work! xD
BiC: For the entire battle Gáire had been unable to move while Kahlua danced around and her father shot down Veraii one by one. Only when did the rabbit yank her back onto her feet did she snap out of her trance. In this battle, she was useless. There wasn't anything she could do.
Next time, she would be ready. She would fight back.
"I'm fine..." She grumbled, disappointed in herself.
-
The wolf looked at his daughter, then squatted down to her level, (or are you taller than that?) "Just because Kahlua and I fought off those Veraii easily, doesn't mean it'll be like that for every fight, which is why I'll be training you to use your environment and the firearms the humans made, and maybe Kahlua could teach you how to move like that, but until then, just try to stay out of the fights...ok?"
-
Sitting down, Kahlua smiled at Gaire. "I can see no reason why I shouldn't be able to show you how to move with liquid fluidity. My only concern is your safety, because I cannot teach you unless I fight you...." She purred softly, cleaning Gaires' head with her tongue gently.
-
Asia looked around as the others talked. With the house in ruins, he climbed on the broken walls, scanning the debris for any supplies that may have survived. Seeing a sliver of green, he clambered through and pulled out half a lettuce. The other half had fallen off with mould and the half he had had hardly fared better. Chucking it to the side, he came across one of the Veraii. Pulling it, tail first out of the rubble, its head got caught and tore off, revealing the meat inside.
"I wonder if this stuff's edible," said the rabbit to himself before calling out to the carnivores. "Hey, you want some fresh meat?" he asked, before hurling the tail end towards them, landing at their feet.
-
OoC: She's taller than that, but whatever. xD
Let's get moving, but since my character is younger it's hard for her to be like "WEAREMOVINGOUTOFTOWNRIGHTNOWTOEXPLORETHEWORLD.
BiC: She sniffed it. Ew - not fresh meat. What was the rabbit playing at? It wasn't anything more than a darn piece of a monster, for crying out loud! But in times like these, there wasn't much left in the world. She took a small bite out of it, gagging at the taste. Gáire could hardly bear it long enough to swallow it. It was extremely bitter at first, then sourness erupted in her mouth.
"Thanks..." she mumbled.
-
The wolf starts laughing at her, then sets up a fire next to the meatpile "It tastes much better when cooked, luckily I still have some wood left from my last campfire.."
-
Holding the open wound at the base of the head to his nose, the rabbit took a sniff. It didnt seem to bad, better than regular meat at least. He took another whiff before pulling out a sliver of flesh from its neck. Closing his eyes and hoping for the best, he threw the meat into his mouth and chewed. "You know what? this actually isnt that bad. I think I could survive on this... until we get some real food that is, like carrots or apples or something." Asia held the head like it was a pack of salt & vinegar, picking out pieces every now and then. Suddenly he stopped for a second, looking into the head, deep in thought. "I hope it's not poisonous."
-
Kahlua stopped cleaning Gaire, looked at Asia, and laughed. "You know, I don't think it is, but I'm not sure. I know I wouldn't eat it though..." She replied, still snickering. Her stomach growled hugnirly and she eyes the jerky sitting on the floor in front of her.
-
"Only if you're dumb enough to eat the poison glands, otherwise, its perfectly fine, how do you think I survived alone in the wilderness, I had to eat what I killed, and so far this serpent is one of the least tasty of them, its the big monsters that have the tasty flesh..." the replied with a cheerful grin
-
"Well I like it, and considering the kinda things you eat, I'd rather stick to this, thankyou very much." The rabbit put his hand on his hip and sighed. "So where we gonna be making this campfire of yours? I mean it's not like we can stay round here forever."
-
"Uh...I already made it" the wolf annoyingly replied, cooking some of the serpent meat
-
"I should really pay more attention to you guys... ah well!" the rabbit said as he grabbed a tail from the meat pile and leaned against a wall while he ate, only to find the wall unstable, falling to the ground in a cloud of brick. He then decided to leap up to the roof of the house next door, searching around the what he could see of the town. "There's quite a few fires in this town," he said as he took a bite of serpent. "Oh wait, one of them's a house fire. I would feel sorry for whoever lived there but... meh, it's how it goes."
-
Losing the fight to control herself, Kahlua pounced on the jerky and devoured it, tail swaying.
-
"You enjoying yourself down there?" asked the rabbit on the rooftop.
-
After finishing off his meal "So, where to now, any thoughts Gaire?"
-
She choked down her last bit of cooked monster, then licked her chops.
"Well, I have a suspicion that won't be the last time monster will attack here..." she muttered. "Perhaps we should head north, towards the great forests. Maybe we can find better shelter there... Even though it would take a long while to get there.
-
"All the better to go as soon as possible" The wolf replied, getting up and patting the dust off his clothing. "Kahlua...you coming with?"
-
After crunching her way through the first two bags, Kahlua paused. "Sorry, but I was ravenous.." She murmured apologetically. Her green eyes laughed at Gaire as she cleaned her paws then stepped up to the fox and began cleaning her face fur.
-
"I hope you lot realize I'm coming with you," Asia said as he lay on his back, staring to the sky. "As much as I like to stay away from carnivores, I do like to stay near people who dont seem bothered enough to kill me and between you lot and the Veraii or Vary or Variety or whatever they're called, you lot seem the safest bet." He scratched his chest as he spoke, "Plus it's not like I'm a drain on your resources; so win-win."
-
"Kahlua...if Asia causes us problems, don't hold it against me if I decide to go carnivore..."
-
"Not if I get to him first... I'm still hungry." She replied, licking her lips and staring at Asia with a hungery light in her eyes.
-
"Hey, I'm faster than all you guys put together, so put your teeth away... and anyway I'm the comic relief, you'll never get rid of me," Asia replied with a cheeky grin.
-
The wolf quickly pulls out and fires the rifle at Asia, the round grazing the fabric on his left shoulder "you might be faster than me, but if you can't react fast enough to run, you might as well be slower than me..." he retorted, putting the rifle away.
-
Kahlua giggled and licked Asia's cheek, clutching Chrono's arm. "Calm down you two... I agree with Gaire, we must go."
-
"eh...fine...I won't kill him....yet..." the wolf finished, apparently becoming docile...
-
Her eyes still laughed as she gently led Gaire and Chrono away from the rubble, toward the woods.
-
From the maps she had looked at while attending school, she guessed that the Northern Forests would take about a week to reach if they traveled nonstop. But with the plains full of monsters, and the sudden weather sifts, she imagined it would take much longer.
She enjoyed Kahlua washing her fur; it reminded her of her mother. After she was done Gáire stretched her limbs, and then headed towards the door.
"Let's go," she said.
-
"Judging from the time of day, we might be able to get at least half-way across before we even catch a whiff of any monsters..." The wolf said, looking at the sky as a 'map'.
-
Sensing a shift in the weather, and knowing it wasn't a far off mark, she surged forward and slipped Gaire onto her back, horse-style. "Hold on, we gotta run, now." She snapped, muscles bunching against her skin, bulking and seething as she leaped across the open areas, eyes darting from shadow to shadow in fear.
-
Keeping a hand on his side-arm, the wolf easily keeps pace with the other two. "Dang, are you that afraid of a little water?" the wolf joked, keeping his senses open for any 'surprise attacks'
-
"Partially. This isn't just a storm... There are worse things that bring the storms coming our way... We have to stay ahead of the storm to be sure we won't end up... like that." She shuddered, indicating a hollowed out human body, or what was left of it. The bones had been picked clean in places while skin and muscle still clung here and there. "That was no animal, it was a hybrid human-snake, called a Guerra. They are vile, undaunted things that will stop at nothing to feed... on anything.." She replied, smiling at his joke.
-
She tucked her head in against Kahlua's mane, feeling the wind whip at her fur. She could smell her father close behind, and she would bet everything she owned that Asia wasn't too far behind them.
Was it coincidence that people met? Or was it fate? She looked back at her father's worn and ragged face. She hadn't seen him in about two years, and she thought he was long gone. Yet, somehow he ended back in her life. Was it simply a turn of the tables? Or was her father destined to come back to her?
She closed her eyes. Whatever it was, she was glad he was back.
-
"Ah, Guerra, twice I almost lost an arm to them, but more than ten times I survived their attacks...not that I want to add another notch to that..." the wolf reflected, soon moving ahead of both of them, attempting to lead them on the fastest way out of the storm's path, while still heading towards the forests.
-
The sky screamed, and a streak of red lightning flashed across the sky. The sky was a dark plum color, and lavender clouds were beginning to darken with the approaching storm.
"Taii-storm," she shivered. One of the worst kinds of storms was coming alive.
-
"All the more reason to pick up the pace, Kahlua, give me Gaire, you need all the speed you can get..." The wolf advised, slowing down until he's next to Kahlua.
-
She shuddered violently and dug her claws deeper into the ground, pushing herself farther and faster, tail between her legs. Her fur bristled as she heard a familiar chink-click-slide noise ten feet behind them. "HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!" She yelped, leaping ahead of Chrono and zipping closer to the trees. She prayed under her breath that the sound would dissipate and it was only in her head..
Kahlua handed Gaire over and disappeared with a blur of fire and black fur, leaving a rut two feet deep in the soft clay.
-
"Okay Gaire, you're going to see what I do to get from shelter to shelter when nobody is looking." The wolf said, getting on all fours, and then at least tripling his sprinting pace, starts to catch up with Kahlua. "It took a whole year to get to this point, and hopefully its enough.."
-
She grasped his neck fur when he dropped down on all fours. His speed was remarkable - almost terrifying. A lightning bolt struck the sand, crystalizing it. It could sell pretty well in the market, but now wasn't the time to get it...
-
Skidding to a stop, Kahlua yelped before she smacked headlong into a boulder twice as big as Chrono. Groaning in pain, she lay next to it with her belly up, dazed.
-
"Damn, do I have to carry you both?" The wolf said, skidding just before hitting the boulder, sliding Kahlua onto himself, and continuing his insane 'sprint', hardly slower than his previous gait...
-
"Oh for goodness sake," Asia jumped down from one of the houses up the street, he slowed to a jog, waiting for the wolf to catch up, weighed down as he was. Once level with the rabbit, he called to them, "Give Gaire here. I may not be able to carry that great leopard, but I can handle your daughter," he said as he reached out a paw.
-
(I think we're way out of the city, and currently trying to outrun the storm)
-
(whoopsy daisy)
"Hurry, hand her over, I told you I'm faster than you"
-
"Why, I'm already outrunning the storm, and as far as our history together was, you could end up taking her away just to get some damn greens.."
-
"My friend, I am shocked and appalled. All that's needed is a little trust. You should have figured out by now that I'm a social animal by nature. I would never betray someone like that. But if you're sure..." The rabbit was about to dart off but held his current speed for a second longer, "If you need me, just call my name. I'll hear you," he said as he stroked his ears before darting off, tearing into the distance.
-
I can't leave her behind, not again... The wolf told himself, and upon seeing a lone tree, his strength renewed and he now went sextuple his regular feral speed, then when passing the tree, he saw the forest in the distance....
-
"I think I can run!" she shouted over the gale. By now the clouds had started to swirl dangerously overhead. "I may not look like it, but I can run pretty quickly!" She glanced at her father, then at Asia. "It'll be easier on all of us."
-
The wolf grimaced at the possibilities, then made up his mind "Just don't get too far from us, okay?"
-
She leapt from her father's back, landing on all fours. As soon as her paws hit the ground she started sprinting for the trees. They were so far away, and the storm was picking up quickly.
In the distance, a tornado touched down. It started ripping at the plains, sending dust into the stormy sky.
-
(may i join, btw my character is basically the same as my profile)
the gray bobcat looked up from her rock bed in a small rock and dirt cave in the forest when the red lightning crashed about in the sky. the stocky cat looked to her right to see her helmet and stick. she had been wearing her armor non stop for the past few weeks, washing it occasionally when it was safe, twice she had been ambushed and she was wary of that happening again.
stone heard a yelp in the distance, 'some one must be caught out in the storm' the burly cat thought. she frowned and looked at her gear once more. she sighed and sat up. she grabbed her black helmet and pulled it over her head, and did up the straps, her side face hair peeking out the sides of her lacrosse helmet cage. she grabbed her guy's model lacrosse stick and her back pack and crawled out of the cave. she put on the tight fitting pack, did up the straps and pulled a few lacrosse sized ball shaped explosives. she put one in the head of her stick and the others in the side pouches of her bag.
the bobcat set off through the woods, cradling the bomb carefully and running to the edge of the woods.
-
"You...have...got...to...be...KIDDING ME!" the wolf yelled, seeing the tornado touchdown...
-
Asia screamed with laughter as he looked back, his eyes ablaze with manic excitement, watching the scene unfold far behind him. He yelled out, "Gaire, you should throw your life away!" and laughed hard and high as he turned to face forward, narrowly missing a tree that stood in his way.
-
Groggily opening her eyes, Kahlua nuzzled Chrono and purred, falling asleep again. Her tail twitched against his back, purr filling his ears.
-
Man is she ignorant.. the wolf thought, moving towards Gaire, trying to edge her out of the tornado's predicted path "Just my luck, the one time I try to outrun a storm, another disaster manifests right in front of us.."
-
Something touched her back leg and she kicked, unconsciously clawing Chrono's back. Blinking sleepily, Kahlua saw the tornado and yelped. Her claws dug in painfully and she leaped ahead of them, leaving bleeding holes in Chronos' back and chest. Hissing and spitting, her fur stood on end and she snarled as red lightning crackled to life at her right, slamming into the ground a few feet away. Static electricity zipped along her fur and she screamed, pounding into the forest, heart thudding against her chest.
-
Somewhat exhausted, and too focused on running to keep his gait stable, the wolf was almost stopped when the panther decided to leap off of him. "Gaire, if I drop here, just keep going" the wolf said, his pace starting to slow down and head into a head-long collision course into one of the trees in the forest.
-
Turning back, Kahlua watched, as if in slow motion, Chrono all behind. Growling with exasperation and cursing every god in existence, she bolted from the cover and bit into his leg, yanking him off the ground. Even though he was heavy, she slid him onto her back and sprinted with the last of her energy into the trees, tail whipping back and forth, panting in exhaustion.
"There.... you can't say I left you behind, wolf boy." She panted, collapsing on the ground just inside the forest.
Her body went limp and she lay there, foam forming around her mouth, chest heaving, as she tried to catch her breath.
-
"Would have been nice not to dig new cuts into my already scarred body, wait...wheres Gaire?!"
-
She looked around, head lolling and pointed with her paw, arm shaking. "Over there... she's nearly here..."
-
"Goodness me, you lot look terrible," Asia grinned as he dropped down from one of the trees behind them. "I'm sure she'll be fine, but she's too slow, well... If only somebody was fast enough to save her. Too bad I'm untrustworthy," The rabbit smiled as he turned and walked off into the forest.
-
"Thats it, the rabbit's dead" the wolf said, pulling out his sniper rifle, and taking a shot at Asia...
-
She was a bit irritated that everyone thought she was slow, but compared to the full-sized, powerful adults she supposed she was. As the tornado ripped the plains she ducked down, covering her ears.
-
Hearing the wolf's words, Asia dove behind the nearest tree, ducking low and watching the bullet tear past through the woodland. He'd had his fun and knew the line he had crossed so bolted out disappearing in a flash, leaving the ground shredded, and laughter in the air.
-
Still exhausted, Kahlua pushed herself up from the ground and limped toward Gaire, beckoning. "Come on sweetie, you're nearly there! Run, I know you can do it, my angel!" She shouted, voice cracking somewhat.
-
The wolf actually takes aim this time, and fires another round, the bullet grazing a few trees before nailing the rabbit in the ear before he went out of sight..."If I wasn't in pain right now, I would have hunted him down and already made a meal out of him..."
-
She heeded to Kahlua's advice and put all of her energy into reaching the trees. They were almost at the oasis...
She caught her paw on a stone and went flying. She landed on the ground about three meters away and cried out. Picking herself up, she continue her mad dash towards the haven.
Finally, her paws kissed grass, and she darted into the bushes. She curled up into a ball, shaking from head to toe.
The clearing was all that was left from a great forest that once ran throughout this side of the country; now all that was left was a tree gathering the size of a small town.
-
The wolf walks over to the bush and parts it, taking his daughter out and hugging her for comfort "its ok, the tornado's path isn't anywhere near here, and the storm is staying over the town" he said, completely ignoring the caked blood on his back...
-
Kahlua limped over and nuzzled Gaire, cleaning her gently, purring reassuringly. Her tongue was cool against Gaire's hot fur. As the lightning flashed and thunder and tornadoes raged at the edge of the wood, the huge panther flicked her tail and continued to clean Gaire, still purring reassuringly, murmuring love phrases and love noises to reassure her adopted daughter.
-
She calmed down, sighing. Looking up into Kahlua's eyes, the thought crossed her mind again.
Was it fate, or coincidence?
Did God really have a plan, when he put Kahlua on this earth? To meet Gáire and help her? Or was it like a falling leaf that the two had crossed paths?
-
"I guess you got yourself another mother while I was busy doing stupid things, eh?"
-
"I've been looking for you, a long time..." She murmured tiredly, nuzzling Gaire and Chrono, settling into a relaxed position and falling asleep. her tail curled possessively around her new daughter and her daughters father, protecting them both subconsciously from all the evils of the world.
-
"I take it she's a bit too stressed to stay awake, oh, I forgot all about the claw marks!" the wolf said, temporarily letting go of Gaire and reaching into his cloak, pulling out a roll of bandages that he wraps around his whole midsection to cover up the marks. "There, all better"
-
She snuggled closer and licked Chrono's bandage, purr thunderous.
-
Out of breath with blood trickling down his ear, the rabbit rested against a fallen tree. "Heh, guess he's a better shot than thought," the rabbit said as he examined the wound. "Stupid carnivores... what happened to all the rabbits out there? even a vole would be preferable to that lot." He sat back and looked to his surroundings, mostly dead and barren. "There's got to be something." Asia sighed, before standing and scratching at the dirt with his feet, eventually kicking a stone with frustration. He decided to keep walking for a while yet.
-
She curled into Kahlua's belly, enjoying the warth radiating from her. It was all so peaceful - so relaxing....
When she opened her eyes again, the sky was a light blue. White fluffs traveled across the sky, and a chorus of birds could be heard in the distance. She was sitting in a field full of white irises.
Sniffing the scent, her head began to spin. What's going on? she thought, turning her head back and forth. Suddenly, she spotted her father in the distance. He was a younger wolf, and was side-by-side with her mother. The beautiful lynx waved at her, and with much joy the fox bounded off into the distance. However, the faster she began to run, the farther away her parents drew. Gáire looked at the ground, and noticed the irises had been stained with a sickly purple color. The sky turned emerald, and the fur on the back of her neck stood up.
Glancing back, she noticed a figure standing where she had come from. He was a silvery color, with ebony streaks in his mane. He wore a cloak and other dark attire. She noticed his eyes were a vivid purple.
"Hello, Gáire," he whispered.
She jerked awake and screamed. It took her moments to realize that it was only a dream.
Nothing more.
Or was it?
-
"Gaire, you alright, you started to whimper..." the wolf said, then he looks around and sniffs the air. Then something he expected, but never wanted, occoured. He turned away from his daughter and coughed up about a tablespoon of blood...
-
"Yeah... I'm alright..." She paused, sniffing the air. There was fresh blood in the air - but why? It was coming from her father's direction. "Are you okay Dad?"
-
The wolf looked at her, and his ears lowered as he tried to get away from her before 'it' happened...
-
Bolting upright with a hungry yowl, Kahlua pushed herself to her feet and licked Gaire. "Stay here... I will be back.. I must hunt.. Stay with the rabbit. Eat him if you become too hungry.." She instructed, lurching after Chrono. "Wolf man, tell me what is happening. I am not going to let you walk away from your daughter again." She hissed, picking up speed and wincing as her paws throbbed.
-
(The rabbit made a run for it when I tried to kill him, so i doubt you could or even should catch up with him x3)
The wolf was only thinking Stay away, I don't want you to see me like this... as he coughed, or almost vomited, a cup of blood before bone snapping was heard, but the trees dissipated the majority of the sound...
-
Growling in annoyance, she limped back to Gaire and curled up around her. "Go to sleep little one..." She murmured, licking her headfur lovingly.
-
The wolf started to grow in mass, spikes protruding from his elbows and crown of his head, and his eyes turned pure red as his fur turns partly silver...
-
She tried going to sleep, but everytime she did she saw the person's purple eyes glaring from behind her eyelids. Finally, she looked up at the sky. It was clearing up from the earlier plains storm, and she could see a few stars.
"Look, Ayai Era," she pointed, indicating to a cup shape constellation. "You can still see that one."
-
Smiling, she nuzzled Gaire and nipped her ear. "Good eye, my angel." She purred, eyes glowing with pride.
-
Dammit, why now, why does it have to be now?! the former wolf thought as two more spike protruded from his shoulders, and his cloak soon turning into more of a body-coat with a hoodie. After all the changes finish, he no longer resembles the wolf that ran off, but more like a messenger of death as he drew his sledgehammer and went back...
-
She nuzzled Kahlua. "Look, Ii-s." The most northern star barely twinkled in the sky. It touched Ayai Era."
OoC: I'll be on tomorrow...
-
(This is where i'll stop)
The wolf was only twenty feet from them, his heavy breathing a dead giveaway and his eyes blank of emotion.
-
stone dropped down from the tree's near the wolf demon, he was fine a second ago. she stood in front of him. "what the heck?" she mumbled, looking at him up close.
-
Ears twitching, she whipped her head around to the sound of the panting. Something's near... She thought, bristling. "Who's there?" She called out, unsure of whether she should charge into that general direction or flee.
-
The former wolf steps into view, his sledgehammer drawn and somewhat more organic than the standard, as if the weapon bonded to him. "Daughter....rrrruuunnn" was all it said before raising the hammer and advancing...
-
"What the-" Gáire dodged out of the way of the sledgehammer. She looked up into the beast's eyes, but didn't recognize him. Apparently he knew her because he didn't halt his advancemnt.
"Come on," she urged Kahlua. "We're under attack!"
She ran ahead through the underbrush, ignorng the branches scratching at her face. Her breath was even, and her muscles reacted in perfect sync as she bounded over logs and under low hanging branches.
Connection............ You are.........
She stopped in her tracks. Where did that voice come from?
Gáire had little time to wait as the beast trudged after her. She climbed up an oak, her claws digging into the bark.
-
stone hopped into the tree near the fox. "well, that worked well, what is that?" the bobcat said as the beast came after the young fox.
-
She lay in the dirt, watching the demon with a poisonous look. "Don't even think about it, I'm not moving anywhere." She spit darkly, eyes challenging him.
-
The demon grimaced in what seemed to be sadness as he swung his hammer at Sahara with rather terrifying force...
-
She ducked down and bit into his leg, snarling. Her tail fur puffed out and a few spikes of her own unsheathed, silvery blades peeking out from under the fur. Roaring and hissing, she extended her claws and bared her teeth.
-
"SSSahaaraa...leeeeaaavvveee..." the demon said, motioning to where Gaire ran off towards.
-
(yo guys, i am right in front of chrono, i tried this twice but no one seem's to respond to my posts. come on, i read your posts.)
-
(if I'm reading your posts right, you're following Gaire, I stopped at Queen, who decided to stay behind)
-
She shook her head and bit him again. "No. I am here to stay." She hissed, spitting at him. Her tail whipped into his side and a painful crash sounded, metal grinding against metal as she hit him again.
-
The demon grabbed her tail and lifted her up to his face, his eyes flickering back to the wolf's "Please, leave, before he shuts me out!" the demon yelled before dropping her and then swinging at her.
-
She ducked again, muscles screaming in agony. Dancing out of reach, she snarled louder and slashed at him, eyes turning fiery orange, burning with poisonous rage. "You will not win, demon. Give now." She hissed, tail spikes rubbing against each other, the scream of metal on metal drowning out everything else.
(She tires easily protecting herself, but adrenaline is still coursing through her. She's trying to protect Gaire... and you from yourself.)
-
The demon only responds with unusual speed by trying to sweep Sahara's feet out from under her and then brings the hammer down yet again, with the side of it covered in mincing spikes.
-
Running out of ideas, she stepped into the attack, coming close to his face and draped herself over his arm, snarling with new rage. "Do not cross me... "
-
The demon puts away the sledgehammer, and pulls out the sniper rifle, but then his mas covers it and it turns into a make-shit cannon. "rrrrruuuunnn" was all it said as the cannon began to charge.
-
Yelping, she bolted off his arm and clambered up the trees, tail between her legs. All the rage went out of her, her eyes returned to normal and she shook violently.
-
the wolf inside, using whatever will he had left, kept the demon from changing his aim. When the cannon fired, it was unlike anything an actual gun would produce, it shot out a sphere of pure destructive energy, causing massive damage to whatever it hit, the examble being a nearby tree that the shot went through the tree and not slowing down until hitting the ground, where it went off like a pile of C4 explosives.
(This is temporary, just survive for about a page or two and he'll change back)
-
(Alright. Nice avi btw.)
Watching the gun fire, the tree fall, and hearing the crash, she leaped across the space where the tree used to be and landed on her stomach in front of him. Claws scrambling for ground, she finally caught some and soared past him, fur ruffled.
-
She's making it hard to keep alive.... the wolf thought as the demon took aim again...
-
Covering her butt, she leaped into the trees once more and clung to an old oak miserably, silently pleading for the demon to go away.
-
Asia could hear explosive action echoing far in the distance. He guessed it would be those he just left, because there werent many other heavily armed psychopaths he could think of. Chuckling to himself, he thought that the wolf could have gone crazy and murdered a friendly passer-by. "I wouldnt put it past him," he said to himself as he continued to trudge along. Looking to the sky he determined that a burrow would be a good thing right about now, and started digging.
-
She glanced at the bobcat. "Watch out-" One of the beast's energy spheres came hurling towards Gáire, and she was forced to barrel roll out of the way.
Connection...
"What?!" she asked, her fur getting singed as she doged another energy wave. "I don't-"
Soon... The voice faded once again into the back of her mind.
-
Still praying, she slowly inched down the tree, sniffing the air. "Gaire?" She called softly; tail tip twitching with nervous energy. Kahlua also noticed that night was beginning to fall and the temperature was falling swiftly.
-
A lone fox wandered slowly through the forest as tiny snowflakes began to fall from the sky. Spike whistled his favorite tune to himself as he walked aimlessly through the darkness. Wearing nothing but a torn set of ragged pants, he stopped whistling and froze. He listened in the cold darkness for signs of movement. He flicked his tail free of snow and looked around. He shrugged and continued on his way. He climbed up a tree and sat on a large branch. He hugged his tail for warmth against the harsh wind.
-
sittin opposite the said tree a cat/ fox (odd parent mix) sat watching the fox on the branch...... huddling for warmth he continued to watch working out the odds.......
-
Her fur prickled. What was watching? Who was watching? She shook off the feeling and calling out to Kahlua. "I'm fine... I'm fine.
"Are you really, Gáire?" a voice whispered behind her. She whipped behind her and lost her balance. As she fell, she noticed it was another furry, hiding behind a mask. The mask was bleach white, with crimson swirls and patterns.
The forest floor came up quickly, and she closed her eyes to brace herself for the impact.
None came.
Instead, she still was falling. Her eyes could only see darkness, and she could smell dirt and plants around her.
She reached out to grab something; her claws met a root. Clawing on it, she hung on for dear life. She glanced upwards, trying to see some light. There was none to be seen.
This way... A voice murmured. Gáire glanced around. There wasn't a scent in the air; no one else was with her.
Gáire, this way.... the voice continued. This way..... Spirit of Greeting.
----
"What a pathetic creature," the figure mused as he glided down from the tree tops. His feet didn't make a sound, and his long mane billowed from behind him. He was wearing a dark cloak; the only part of his fur you could see were his ears and mane.
He glanced around for the fox. "She disappeared..." he thought.
Suddenly, a quiver went through his heart.
"One of the Seven of Spirit is here." He gasped. Grabbing at his chest, his heart thudded like a bass drum. "Beginning, Departure, Greeting, Belief, Passion, Destruction, and Gates... Which one of my fellow kin is here?"
-
(sorry for the unknown absense x3)
The demon-wolf turns around to see a figure gliding down from the trees.
A growl is all that escapes its maw as it starts to walk towards the figure...
-
Kahlua snarled and moved toward the tree Gaire fell from, hoping to catch sight of her. Her fur bristled and twitched with fear as she scanned the scatter of branches within her line of vision, panicked.
