Title: Virus trouble
Post by: Gabag on May 25, 2009, 09:30:26 PM
well while randomly surfing my Deviant Art, Adobe Reader just randomly opens, looking at what it opened, it opened to a virus scan, finding 38 viruses, half of them trojans. After spending the better part of my Memorial Day reformatting my Computer, I cant get the internet to work on it, i'm on my bros. laptop, if someone can help me, it'll be appreciated.

Tried reinstalling the network drivers? (if not installed during the reformat)

Find the one that matches your network card. If you use a Linksys network card, make sure it's one designed for that network card.

I thought it had to match your operating system, so if I have a netgear modem, I need to find something for that?
sorry i'm not good with computers at all....

(Windows XP) Go to My Computer > Right-Click anywhere on the white background of the Window > Click Properties > Device Manager > then look for the section called "Network Adapters" you should see some things written in there, whatever you find you should write down and then look in google for drivers :)

What White Wolf mentions so far is good, but sometimes you can't get online. Look for the disc that contains the drivers (if you still have it) before you resort to going online though.

Oh i know, sorry I forgot to mention you need a second computer in the equation *for a useable internet connection of course*, but from what I had guessed so far I figured Gabag had a secondary computer to transport files over *as I was pondering how he typed these response messages on FF* :)

Chances are you've lost the drivers disc or perhaps the computer didn't even come with one, so this step is necessary x.x
