Ok, so the power supply on the family computer burned out a week ago. The only reason I'm on the forums is because I'm using my iPod touch. Now, my parents don't let me get on the home computer because of past reasons. So, for around two years, I haven't been on the computer except to load art to FA, check Myspace or just to look stuff up on YouTube. But, just because I'm the techie of the family, it's suddenly my responsibility to get it up and running again. Even though I almost never got on that computer, it's now been put on my shoulders. Ugh, I would love to be able to tell them this to their faces...
"Well, gee, I'd love to waste a ton of hours getting your piece of crap computer working again, mom and dad. No, it's not like finals, graduation invitations, a picture slideshow and two different jobs are important. Besides, I am just a slave in this household anyways, right?"

Well, instead of telling them that, how about you tell them that there are people that are paid to fix computers, and you are not one of them....so have them call up that kind of person, or better yet, suggest that they, and not you, get a new computer instead of fixing the one that is apparently very low-quality....

Oh, I've tried being polite. They took at as me being rude. So hopefully if I'm rude they'll think I'm being polite. XD
But in all seriousness, they won't let me go to college if I don't fix this computer. Because I already told them that it's not my responsibility to fix it, they said it's not their responsibility to send me to college. Both are valid points, but I'd rather go to college and fix their computer instead of continuing to live with them and have a broken computer. >.>
My parents are fascists.

heh my dad says the same things about me livingbin his house, good thing im out in a month.
personally I would hire someone to do it, but thats only because I would end up doing more damage than repairs. XD buuuut, it costs more than an arm and a leg to do that though... I guess fixing a computer is a relatively small price to pay to go to college though eh?

Yeah. It's a very small price to pay for college. So, I figure I'll just clench my fists, bite my lip and just get it over with.

I have been been unwittingly promoted too tech guy at home. luckily I dont mind to much apart from when they expect me to fix something immediately.
Fix it and prehaps try and get something out of it. like more computer time worth a try at least.
