Rain falls steadily on the timber and sheet metal structures of the encampment, the current settlement for a pack of roving furs and the human villagers fleeing their destroyed town. A village elder, Dekard, sits before a fire and tells his all too familiar tale.
"Long ago, our ancestors ruled this land without question. They lorded over the great machines of old, forged their mighty weapons, and changed their forms as they saw fit. It was at the apex of their power that they created the gateway to the Inferno. It granted our ancestors great power, the power many of us wield now, but it also released the plagues and demons that we must contend with. The king of the Inferno, the Arch- Demon Ba'al, sent forth his beast and minions to conquer this land. But his progress was slow, and it has been only within my lifetime that his corruption has reached the forests we have called home, and only now that we are forced from our homes. The Fallen ones will be but the first wave unless we can break Ba'als grip here. Rumor has it the ancients gateway hidden below the monastary is active, and providing evil passage to us. If it could be followed to its source, we may again rule this land..."

*I sit on a log near the warm fire listening to the wise elder's tale, my leg badly injured from defending the destroyed town*
-
A young necromancer sat nearby, idly cleaning his scythe. The elder spoke on, staring into the fire, but the rest of his tale was far less relevant. Around them the encampment simply went about their daily lives. A generator hummed in the blacksmiths shack, an apothecary gathered the rainwater for his potions. Life went on, more or less.
-
Kiro had listened to a little bit of the story, but he was mostly absorbed in his machines. The german shepherd tightened the bolt on the small transport he was building, and a drizzle of oil hit him. He wiped it off and went about working, humming merrily.
-
Syreth approached the fire, hooded as usual, taking on the look of an animated scarecrow had her flesh not been visible at her torso and her legs. On her back was a black staff made of wood. Her long stitched sleeves hid her hands, as she walked to the fire. She had not been with this group long, but was hesitant to reveal her face due to her nature, and what they were up against. She was a daemon, and that could be held against her. As of now, people were unsure of her gender, which she considered a good thing. The only things that could give that away is if the scraps of her cloak moved aside revealing her chest or her visible feminine figure. She took a seat on the log where the elder was telling a story to the young villagers and listened intently. Like all daemons, she was from the bad place the elder spoke of.. But she wasn't on a side in this war. More of an observer. Her light red skinned tail curled on the log beside her as she stretched her wings to relax, ignoring the looks she got from some of the group. Sheesh, it's not like I'm a Bogeyman, she thought. Her back was arched as she leaned over and rested her elbows on her knees, her hands still hidden. She probably looked frightening or suspicious given the skulls that were stitched on the bottoms of her clothing, and the dark cloak she wore over her face.

Standing on the hill overlooking the camp, Unit- 0056 had been following the nomads for awhile now. The only reason he didn't show himself was because he was paranoid. "What if they dismantle me for parts, or shoot me on sight?" he thought to himself as he wished to be near their fire.
-
The necromancer had finished cleaning his blade, and turned now to the newcomer. He knew what it was in an instant, of course, but what puzzled him was why it had not torn the surrounding villagers into sticky red ribbons. It was... curious... He moved next to the demon, whispering in an arcane tongue it would surely know. "So, what brings you here? Surely nothing malignant, if your lack of action is any suggestion." He pulls down his own hood, revealing the blonde furred form beneath. An odd breed for a necromancer. "I don't expect you to return the favor, at least not here, but I feel I should tell you that I mean you no harm so long as you cause no trouble. A fair exchange, yes?"
A small band of villagers stood at the opening in the settlements wood and metal door, armed mostly with farm implements and rusty rifles. They seemed intent on retaking their village from the impish Fallen ones and the tainted humans that had laid siege to it.
-
the large brown armored bear slowly walked over to the fire of the town, she idly saw a necromancer, a hooded figure, farmers. she shook her head tiredly, causing the heavy plate mail to clank against each other slightly as the bear sat down by the fire, letting the warmth easily slid over her.
-
Caught off guard by the canine's approach, Syreth eyed him suspiciously. She did not speak, she only gazed in perplexed confusion with her yellow orange eyes.. They looked like yellow orange swirls of emptiness through her hood. Her wings shrank and pressed against her back under her cloak, and her tail flicked aggressively. She didn't like anyone poking around in her business. She stood up, her eyes still locked on his, and promptly stepped over the log she had been sitting on. She could not promise to be good, but she couldn't promise that she'd be bad either.. She preferred not to answer at all. In fact, the entirety that she had been there, she had not spoken to a soul. Only observed.

Kiro finished tightening the bolts on the chassis of the transport, then crawled out from under the machine. It didn't look like much, but it was a workhorse for sure. The mechanic hopped up into the driver's seat and flipped on the ignition switch. The vehicle roared to life. The sound of the engine was deafening, and people jumped back from the vehicle as Kiro grinned with pleasure. The canine popped the vehicle into gear, and tapped on the gas. The transport's treads began to turn, and the vehicle moved forward a few yards. Satisfied, the shepherd switched off the ignition. There was no use wasting fuel when he was sure his creation would work.

kida gets up off the log, using his rifle as a support, and limps close to the fire. He sits with his injured leg pointing out away from the fire. "fire, be thy friend, and give me the strength" kida says in the ancient arcane language while doing several motions with his paws over his injured leg. The fire glows hot red as flames whip around kida's paw. He yells and grits his teeth the the fire dissipates into his leg. The wound glows bright red for a split second before turning a dark purple, the fire returns back to its original state, flames flickering and dancing. kida removes the legging to see that the wound he has attainted had heal perfectly, although the skin has been scarred over.

"Ngh..." the robed figure, lying against the tree, covered in blood stains, puncture marks, and burn marks, had finnaly just woken up from something he can't remember...
Where am I....how did I get in so much pain...and why is my swo...wait...I have a sword? were the first thoughts that came into his head as he tried to remember where he is...what he just seemingly survived, more importantly...what was he?
The first thing he remembered was his name Korin...then after he got up...he remembered he had a scimitar that he spotted on the ground, cleanly cut in two...guess I have to get it fixed by someone...or something.. he thought as he looked around, his vision centering on a faint, red, glow in the distance please let someone be there the figure thought as he started walking towards the glow....limping every few steps...
-
As Kiro climbed down from his vehicle, he had a sudden urge to drive it around. Fuel was scarce, but he had enough. The canine revved the engine and took off up the hill outside town. The transport wasn't very fast, of course, but it could probably withstand a bomb blast. The tracks clanked as Kiro started up the hill. He looked up from the gauges and saw a figure staggering toward him. The shepherd slowed the vehicle as he drew near the figure. "Hey, buddy, need some help? You okay?"
-
The man that talked to the figure did not register to him as he continued walking towards the glow....
-
Kida stands up from the fire and walks back to his log, a light limp in his step. He sees the hooded figure in the distance and instinctively reaches for the magnum strapped to his thigh.
-
the large armored bear looks at the canine that just stood up after messing with magic on his leg. the bear shakes her head and stands up and shakes out her deep brown thick fur and her thick plate armor. she turnes away from the warm fire and starts walking out of the small village sniffing around and enjoying the quiet. she see's a dark figure walking through the darkness, it seemed to be hurt and in pain. the bear tilted it's head to the side and walked towards the figure.
(the figure is chrono, to dispell any confusion)
-
Unsure of who the figure in the distance, Unit (now to be called Carmine) took out his assault rifle and fired a warning shot into the sky.
-
All the figure could do was walk...because the glow most likely ment a campfire...which ment people...which ment a chance to get some answers...so it ignored the warning shot, and slowed down when it saw a bear approaching...and dropped on its right knee..."H...help...." it said as it dropped the scimitar peices and fell to the ground with a dull 'thump'...
-
the large bear heard the figure utter 'help' in the night. uschi galloped over to the figure, it looked to be a big maroon colored dragon. with a broken curved sword. the large bear gently gripped the dragon's arm and pulled him up and into her saddle. she used her mouth and gently gripped the broken sword and ran back to the camp. when she got near the fire the large bear dropped the blade pieces on teh ground. "hey some one got hurt, do we have a doctor in this place who can help?" the large bear called out getting the attention of a few people around the campfire.
-
The necomancer rises, hearing that someone was injured. "I can help. Lead me to him." He follows the bear, finding the bloodied creature lying by the gate. He kneeled beside him, placing a paw on the furs chest. "Be ready if he wakes, he may be hostile." A crimson glow surrounded his paw as he gave the injured dragon some of his life. Not much, but enough to help with the wounds.
-
kida rises with the necromancer and follows them both. "I have some energy left, maybe I could do something." kida searches his pack but with a dissatisfied face he says, "does anybody have any water?" kida looks at the badly injured dragon and closes his eyes thinking deeply and remembering the spells he had studied and learned for so long.
-
With the last words, "Anybody have any water?" echoing in her skull, Syreth reached into her cloak. It seemed to almost envelop her whole along with her sleeves. From what seemed to be a never ending sea of gray rag-tag cloth, she revealed a bottle of water and tossed it to where the other were. She crouched low and rested against the opposite side of the log, away from the fire.
-
Kida's eyes snap open as he hears the bottle smack the ground near him. He rushes over to the bottle and quickly unscrews the top and pours all the liquid on the dragon. Kida gets in almost a fighting stance, he does multiple motions with his paws. "water and fire combine! Lend me the powers of the holy nine! Keep this dragon from a horriable fate, let him return at least once to his mate!" kida says in arcane language. The fire once again roars into the sky, a bright red line whips to kida and surrounds his body. The water glows bright on the dragons wounds, kida points at the dragon and the flames unite with the water and glow an erriy red. The blood stops running and cuts seal together. The water slowly starts to drain off and the fire goes out. The dragon fully healed, stires alittle. As kida finishes the spell he drops to his knees, now completely out of energy. Kida drops to his hands then passes out...
-
The figure...fully healed...starts to awaken, at first with a grunt, then its eyes open, and signs of mental emptiness and exhaustion are seen in them...
-
Firing a small series of shots into the sky, he pointed towards the crowd "Don't move or I'll fill you all full of holes!" confused and reverting back to his combat programming.
-
I chuckle and say, "Make me" already starting to go temporarily insane drawing my katana from it sheath and bearing my fangs with a wicked grin...
-
(Seraph did you even sign up for the rp, not to you know be a downer, but Arke said that you need to make a character in OOC before you actually make a post)
-
the large armored bear stood up slowly and stepped between the dragon and the armored gunner. "no" she said simply baring her teeth and crouching into a sprinting stance. if he fired, he would have only 20 seconds before a 850 pound mass of metal and muscle came and smashed him into the dust.
-
(What Gabag said.)
The necromancer waved a hand at the automaton. "There is no need for violence. Come, and assess this situation for yourself. But take heed, any act of aggression will be paid back tenfold."
-
Raising his rifle to the sky, Carmine holstered it, and just gave a death glare back at the armored bear. "Careful armored one, we wouldn't want you going feral now would we?"
-
"what does that even mean. and by the way, i won't be scared by a metal monster." teh armored bear said glaring back at the metal being.
-
For the first time, Syreth spoke.. Her voice unaffected by emotion and her eyes far off. She was not even looking to anyone in particular. "Careful tin can, wouldn't want your circuits going up in flames, would we?" Her hand outstretched, her fingers spread, then clenched hard, snapping her knuckles. A tuft of grass went up in flames in front of the unit's feet, then extinguished itself as her hand disappeared back into the over-sized sleeve. "Now let's be sensible about this." she concluded.
-
kida slowly opens his eye, remembering what happened. He lifts himself up and stumbles over to a tree to rest.
-
Ugh...where am I...and who is she, and all these people too...who or what are they? I thought as I lifted up on my midsection, then I remembered my scimitar..."Where is it, wheres my weapon?!" I frantically asked, getting up and searching the area for it....
-
the armored bear keeps her eyes on the mechanicle soldier. "your curved sword is behind you" she said, she jerked her head to where she dropped it when she brought the dragon in.
-
"Oh thank god, its the only thing I own....I think..." I said, clutching my two scimitar pieces like they're my last possesions...
-
"Come, let's get you out of this area for the time being. You are in no condition to fight now." The necromancer helped the injured dragon to his feet, leading him to the blacksmiths stall.
-
Walking over to a bench, Carmine takes out his knife, taking out the wooden stick he's been carving all this time, and begins the usual routine.
-
Kida slowly gets up from the tree and wobbles over to the fire. He sits up against a log and searches his pack, he then pulls out a loaf of bread and takes a bite out of it. "anybody want any?" he says while offering it to everybody around the fire.
-
"Thanks...I don't even know any of your names...but thanks anyway!" I said, still holding onto my broken scimitar...
