Title: Your First Game
Post by: WingedZephyr on April 20, 2009, 12:46:18 AM
What was the first computer or video game you ever played?

I can't remember exactly which one came first, but mine was one of these four:
- Cosmo (old MS-DOS game, haha)
- Commander Keen
- Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise
- Putt Putt Goes to the Moon

All computer games. The first game I ever played on a console was probably one of my cousin's games on his N64, might have been one of the Zelda games for it. I dunno, it was a while ago. XD

Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention for the SEGA Genesis was my VERY first game, and it was also my first Wii VC.

I think I was two or three years old at the time.

Asteroids on the Atari 2600.
I'm not old, I'm just poor.

First PC game though, since I pretty much only play PC games anymore was Commander KEEN. That was a very good game.
Then I played the original Prince of Persia whilst listening to Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" (Those who know Prince of Persia know why.)

I'm not quite sure what the first game I ever played was but I do know that pretty much all of my first ones were rather outdated by the time I played them:
Pong - Atari2600
Pacman - Atari2600
Space Invaders - Atari2600
Super Mario Bros - NES/Famicom
Donkey Kong - NES/Famicom
Tetris -Gameboy/NES/Famicom

I remember playing Sonic 1 and 2 a good bit when I was very young but I doubt any game from the 90's was the first I played :P

First game that showed how much I love non-competetive co-op gaming was Snake on the Atari 2600, on the setting where nobody ever died. You just filled the screen with your respective colours, making weird pictures.

God, I am so much older than most of you. I remember playing an Atari. There was a cartridge with about 50 mini-games on it. There was this fishing one...   -.-

The first games really I played were:
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (built into my first Sega Master System)
Super Mario Bros on the NES (had to blow into the cartridge to get it to work)
Sonic on the Master System, yes the FIRST one! No triple spin? No Tails? Glad those days are behind us. But the music from Bridge still sticks in my head. :P

And you know what? I still own those machines and those games, and they STILL work!

I thought this game was pretty fun.

and how on earth do you still have your atari? Ours broke a good five years ago through overuse. I mean, half life 2 had come out and I was still playing that racing game... oh and asteroids...

YES! YES! That was it! God, I never thought I'd see that screen again! You've made my day. :D

And no, I never owned an Atari, my mate down the road did. I'd be amazed if it still works.
My Master System and NES still work, though they don't like cooperating with a 50-inch plasma screen... :P
