Title: Webcomic
Post by: Hyptosis on February 03, 2009, 01:18:45 AM
I just wanted to share my webcomic, and hear any feedback you guys might have. I know the webpage is weak, but it should at least load fast. Once I free up some time I'll design a nice one. This is just for fun until I'm comfortable drawing these characters. The comic is in pencil/ink and marker.

Thanks! ^_^

Edit: Oh, it ends at page 12

The art itself is quite nice, really. Not a whole lot to say about it.

If you want to design it as a webcomic though, I'd strongly suggest working on combining more of the images into comic-book-style panels, rather than just individual snapshots. Particularly in the beginning. It helps to give the reader a better idea of the spatial relationships and flow. Packing more information into the beginning of the story would have a better chance of drawing the reader in, instead of risking the chance that they might scroll through a bunch of similar single-panel pages and lose interest before they can get to the good parts.

Anyway. I don't want to sound harsh or anything, that's just my opinion, take it or leave it. Hard to say much more than that with only 12 pages. Keep at it though!

Hey, don't worry about it! I wanted feedback! thanks a million. I wanted to try something new with this comic, I don't think it is presented well here. A major problem is the panels/pages really all need to be the same size. I'm working on it, all a big test right now! You're feedback is crucial, thank you so much! ^_^

Yo~!

Awesome drawings, very very nice.
However, I do have to agree with WingedZephyr. The comic should have a little more to it. It's completely understandable if you don't have the time or something like that (like if that's all you're able to draw in a day because you've got a hectic schedule).
----Maybe, if you don't want to steer away from the one panel updates, then you might want to try uploading a couple pages in a day or whenever you update. For instance, if you upload a new panel every day then the way you're going about it would be fine, mind you, some people may find it annoying. However, these one panel a piece comics can be very interesting because it's a constant flow of cliff hangers~! (There's a comic I read called Lola, which has a similar principle and it's quite popular where it's uploaded)
You might want to try full page drawings. I do comics myself and whenever I update it's always a full page. Theyre very easy to manage and you can organize the panels in order to how you need them, though some people have to plan ahead of time and sometimes the artist starts to think in panels. Or you could try splurges of uploads, which I do if I haven't put anything up in a while. It's when you take a whole lot of things you've done and upload them all at once, or span it out over a 24 hour period and upload 1-5 things every hour, which is a very effective way of gaining an audience.

Oh mah gawd, right? that liked me LOL.
I find the dialogues funny, for a comedy is good; but if you aim to make a serious story, I recommend less humor.
the artwork pretty cool, the guys before me had already said everything.

You have some pretty neat artwork.

I like the page very much. Introduces scenery, but still contains action. Keep going! :)
