Title: Nighttime in the Undertown
Post by: Fell on January 19, 2007, 07:04:40 AM
They called it The Dark City, probably because they really thought of it that way. IT was their loss, though, to just write it off like that... For the city had another nickname: City of 1000 Stars. That was the one anyone who actually knew the city, it's 16 hour night and all, called it. Crime, dirt and danger aside, the city was fundamentally alive in a way few were anymore.  The undertown, a truly cyberpunk cavern under the city with full skyskrapers coming from the ceiling (and never touching the ground) and vice versa, was one of the livelier places even in the City of 1000 Stars. Hovercars and other flying modes of transportation shot high above the heads of pedestrians, criss-crossing the sky with neon as they flew. The undertown was mostly lit up with neon. It suited the style of the place, especially here in the centre of the town. The skyskrapers, the signs, even the sidewalk in some places was inlaid with various colours of neon. Truly, a ravers paradise.

At least, it was in Alcide's (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/Evenings_Epitaph/Alcidedone.jpg) opinion.  And as far as the Cheshire Cat was concerned, his was the only opinion that was important.  Well, for now. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate others; quite the contrary! He just didn't know anyone else on the street, rendering him his own most important person for the moment.

Alcide had just come from one of his favourite places - a rave. No, not a specific rave (though this *had* been a good one) but just a rave that he'd found while walking. That was part of the beauty of the undertown. If you knew where to walk at night, you'd almost certainly find a rave. Gods know, Alcide certainly had. It was fairly obvious, too, based off of the myriad of glowing objects - bracelets, necklaces, earrings, even an oral glowstick that lit his mouth up pink - that adorned his lithe, small frame, the faint smell of sweat and alcohol he was giving off and the black light paint that spattered his mostly-grey fur. Not that it would be hard to tell otherwise. He was wearing a pair of raver pants and no shirt, per normal, his ears were pierced up 12 ways to Sunday and he had a small, conical eyebrow stud. So, remnants of a rave or not, it was hard to mistake Alcide for anything but a cyberpunk undertown raver.

Which, to be sure, suited the smallish Cheshire cat just fine. He hummed a fast-paced song as he walked along the street, a little tipsy, arms held straight out to balance as he tried to walk on the neon line burned in front of him. It worked better than might be expected for someone tipsy - after all, he was a cat. Alcide paused for a moment, then smiled up at the neon-streaked sky. It was something especially beautiful when alcohol clouded your vision (even if only a little). Man, I love this town, he thought, continuing his happy search for his next party of the evening. The night was yet young, and Alcide certainly wasn't one to waste the nightlife of the Dark City...

((Note - I'd prefer if no more than a couple people joined... I don't like huge RPs ^^; They get too confusing for me. Also, please try to be somewhat active in your replies and somewhat lengthy about what you say. I'm not always this wordy (gods no! It's a first-post thing) but I can't say I like sentence or two long replies either. I try to put a lot of thought and detail into what I write, and I would appreciate it greatly if you would return the favour. :3 That's all... If you're still interested, please, reply away!))

*~Nyx walked up out of the subway of Undertown. The dragoness had just recently gone to an art supply store. She might have been considered a punk, herself, due to the attire that she wore. She had a black tank top with red flames dancing across the bottom of it, with fishnet sleeves; along with black pants that had been oddly repaired with safety pins, chains dangling from the sides and criss-crossing her buttocks. Above all of this, she wore a tattered trenchcoat with buckles as far as the eye could see. Her "hair" was more or less like iguana spines. They stood up and alert; only few of them were lying in her face, (cyberhawk style on IMVU.) Along with dark purple angular glasses, and her own, black scales.Yet, she resented being classified into a group. (Hehe, that's me!)

Her converse sneakers scuffed along the sidewalk as she was heading to her apartment; a bit overloaded with large canvases and bags of paint, brushes, and sketchpads(two to be exact.). She walked briskly as she felt herself slowly but surely, losing her balance. God, let me get my apartment before I go spilling over with my stuff! she thought to herself as she speed walked. Finally, before she could even reach the sidewalk of her own apartment, she went tumbling to the ground... paints skittering everywhere(but not opening thank goodness), brushes puncturing through her plastic bags, and five canvases clacking on the ground; right in front of a grey kitty raver.

As quickly as she had fallen, Nyx shot to her feet and blushed a bit embarassed of her actions, adjusting her glasses as she zipped about, picking up her lost supplies.~*

Alcide had been in the middle of a step when he heard the sounds of falling behind him. Instead of placing his stray foot down, he swung it around in her direction and used its momentum to carry the rest of his body as well. It was a fairly graceful movement... Especially under the circumstances.

He smiled down at her, looking at all the art supplies she'd spilled. "Hello. Why have you put your paintbrushes on the floor?" Alcide asked curiously, reaching down to pick up and examine one. He put it gently to his ear, then shook his head. "Perhaps you should invest in leashes, if you're to do that," the Cheshire suggested, handing her back the paintbrush he'd been listening to.

*~Nyx sheepishly grinned and gathered her things up quickly and stuffed the brushes into her already punctured and shredded bags. "Sorry," she said carply, and snatched the paintbursh from his hand. She sat her bags on the ground and brushed the dirt off her clothes while adjusting her spikes and pushing her glasses up onto the bridge of her snout. "I'm sorry to have interrupted your walk." She sighed, "I don't make enough money as an artist to invest in leashes anyway." Nyx grinned a toothy smile. She gathered her bags and canvases, and began to walk forward, tottering a bit then sitting the supplies on the ground again. The dragoness mumbled to herself. Why had she been able to carry it up the subway and across the street without falling? Now it seemed impossible.~*

Alcide watched her totter down the street for a moment, then sauntered over, arms still out to each side. He looked up at her a little, smiling. "Would you like some help?" the young Cheshire asked, flicking his eyes towards her now-broken bags as he did. What a shame she can't get leashes... he thought, oddly happily. It must have been the alcohol, colouring everything in a pretty shade of metaphorical pink.

Alcide didn't quite wait for her to answer, reaching for a couple of canvases and a set of paints showrly after he asked. He didn't see why she would be bothered by it. He was just helping, after all.

(I hope you won't mind one extra person. I like the concept for this roleplay)

A steady clank-clank-clank of metal upon pavement could be heard as a figure comes around the corner on the opposite side of the street as the other two. The darkness had his some of the features, but the sound of metal upon pavement gave it away. It was Jericho, the local mechanic. Or he was at one time, he was now out on the streets looking for work. A dull red glow eminates from his right eye. He had been in.. a few, terrible accidents. Hence being part machine. He wore a pair of camoflauge shorts, baggy, they hung at his hips and covered his legs down to a little below his 'knees'. His knees, however, were non-existant. From his knees down, his legs were machine. His entire left arm from the collarbone down was machine aswell, and the top-right of his head had mechanical parts too. Hence his slightly glowing right eye. He also had on his favorite jean-jacket, the left arm tore off. He didn't bother covering up his false parts, there was no use hiding them. He had both organic and mechanic hands stuffed into his jacket pockets as he rounds the corner and slows his walk as his gaze sets upon the artist and the raver.

From the look of it, Jericho didn't have a shirt on, showing off a chest with unkept fur. It was tan in color, being that he was a hyena. He had brown spots of fur upon his hips and shoulder(s?), the same-colored mane running from his upper back to just above his forhead, spots on random places along the back of his neck. He had a lighter tan belly and chest, under his jaw and along his jugular. His tail was more like a shortened version of a wolf's tail, being covered with the same brown fur, instead of just having a tuft at the end. At the moment, he was looking for something, but he had a lot of time to spare. He stops, giving a slight turn, trying to keep silent so he didn't interrupt. But even the slightest turn caused the pavement to grind against the sole of his clawed metal foot.

*~Not used to such acts of kindness, she tried to shoo away the cheshire, insisting "Honestly, I can carry my own things." when she was interrupted by a metallic scra.ping (<--word filter picks it up)sound. She grit her teeth at the sound... Her hearing could be sensitive at times, and this was one of them. The sound came from a metal not agreeing with the concrete by the sound of it.
She traced the sound to a bio-mechanic stranger. He was a canine for sure. She let her powers wander a bit, but not terribly much, for this creature was an object of interest at the moment. She closed one eye as if scrutinizing his apperance and caught a whiff of a name within 'Three syllables... Starting with a J, and ending in O...' She thought, gathering facts from the now identifyable Hyena, she had discovered, whilst scanning his mind. He seemed lost, as if his purpose was not yet established.
Once again, after everything was in check, (her glasses, hair, and attire...) she spoke, "Jericho... Am I correct?" She eyed the stranger again, trying to collect something else from his mind. She gathered her art supplies and sarcastically answered the canine's silence, "It's not a rhetorical question." Then let a crooked half-smile settle on her lips.~*

Jericho lowers his head a bit, giving a slight nod. He thought the name-recognition was from the crash of his reputation. "Yea" If one would be to get into his head still, a slightly increasing tone can be heard. The hyena takes his paw quickly from his jacket pocket and presses a metal plate upon his head, pressing harder and harder until a dull hiss could be heard. He takes a deep breath and looks to the dragoness after exhaling slowly.  "Have you seen a tool that looks like a screwdriver anywhere? I'd get into specifics, but I don't think many people know the names of every tool." He gives a slight smirk. His breath didn't exactly smell bad, it just smelled different. Like a mix between coffee, a couple mints, and chinese takeout. He had both of his ears, one had a bullet-sized hole near the tip of it. He reaches the paw that was out of his pocket behind his head, stroking his mane a bit. "Who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" He says, a slight bit of sacrasm within his voice, but none ment to be hurtful.

*~Nyx hesitated, her eyes narrowing as if Jericho had just asked an absurd question. She promptly pushed her glasses back to the bridge of her snout (They had slid down a bit, making her look as if she were impersonating a grandma.) and answered, "Name's Nyx." she looked at the cheshire digging for a name, "and I'm not sure, but I think that this is..." She paused for a moment---
('Begins with an A, and ends in an E. Very unique, and catchy.')
---To collect on a name. She then continued unsurely, "Alcide?" she said unsurely. "I'm not much of a tool person, but I haven't seen anything resembling a screwdriver around here. Tools are the last thing on my mind." She bent over to pick up her art supplies, and paused mid-way. "I'm more of a visual arts personality."~*

Jericho gives another nod, "Pleasure." He looks down at his leg when he hears that his tool hadn't been found. "That's unfortunate.. I'd like to be able to open my right leg up and figure out what's loose inside. Sometimes I get a horrible limp on it, or it just stops working for a time." He lifts his legs to turn this time so that the metal soles of his feet wouldn't grind upon the pavement so he could lean upon the wall of a building and see who he was talking to straight-on. "I'll have to find a specialist to work on my brainbox though. Gotta find out what's making all that pressure build up in it"

*~ She stood back up and looked at Jericho, now armed with her army of bags full of Art supplies and her canvases. "Hmmm..." she said, allowing her mind to swim in wonder, "Maybe I should look into mechanics. I do enjoy learning new things. Although, I'm not sure when I'd have time to do so. I'm so absorbed into drawing and learning to paint, I've never really taken the time to consider it. I do however have some tools at my house... I think... A big box of them the previous owner of my apartment left in my closet." She closed her eyes as if trying to make an inventory of all the tools inside the box she spoke of. "I'm not sure if there's anything that can help you in there, but you can take a look if you'd like."~*

"I'd owe you one" He smiles a bit, stepping forward and holding out his arms "I could start by helping you with those supplies" He stops a second, checking his left arm before nodding a bit. "Gotta be something that could help me get into my leg" He would be in trouble if the limp started again if he was allowed to help with the dragonnesses art supplies, but he trusted his thigh-strength enough to support him to at least her place.

*~"I can get it. I was able to walk all the way from the art store, down the subway, onto the train and up the subway with no problem." she grinned, "My place is right up there." She moved her head towards the general direction of her apartment. She was nodding toward a building that looked fairly run down, but it also looked as if the owner tried to keep it nice. There was one window that had a sheet covering it, the sheet was black with one white crescent moon in the middle. "The room with the sheet over the window is mine. You'll have to excuse the mess." She nodded, as if reassuring herself and thanked the cheshire, then began to ascend the stairs. There were three flights.~*

Following, Jericho goes up on the steps, measuring each placement of his metal footpaw carefully. He'd had a bad experience involving his legs and a staircase. He keeps ahold of the support rail as he goes up, watching Nyx in front of him to make sure she wasn't having any trouble herself. Though, he was lagging behind. He tries to hurry up, skipping a step with each foot-placement. He looks back down to his legs, making sure the tell-tale signs of a give-out weren't showing.

*~Finally reaching the top, Nyx turned to see that Jericho was still behind her, but lacking by a few steps. When he had reached the top, she walked to the end of an old hallway and stopped at the end in front of a beat up door that looked as if something had tried desparately to claw its way inside. She sat her art supplies down beside her allowing the canvases to rest against her leg. She dug through her pockets until she found a set of keys, oddly decorated with a two keychains. One keychain was a black rubber ducky with a yellow beak, and in yellow, it read '13' with yellow stars. The other looked like a tongue hanging on a chain with a single piecing on the tip, and it was even squishy and somewhat moist like a real tongue. She slid a black key into the lock and turned it until it clicked, granting her access to the secrets it hid from everyone else. She swung the door open and scooped up her art supplies, heading indoors.
When she entered the livingspace, inscense greeted her nostrils, and she sniffed it happily identifying it to Jericho, "Dragon's blood... It's my favorite scent." the carpet was black, and the furnishings were striped vertically black and white, while the walls were white themselves. There were canvases that had already been painted leaning on the walls and furniture, and paintings painted on paper hanging on every inch of the wall, each one about 1 inch from any of the adjacent ones. The colors from the pictures showered and reveberated throughout the room giving it a warm, peaceful look. Nyx shuffled through the living room and behind the bar that indicated a start of a kitchen. The bar was littered in papers, mostly sketches, and books. She slid them over and cleared a spot to sit her art supplies.
There were two other rooms in the apartment. There were no doors, only beads hanging over the entrances. One was an art room used for painting and storing supplies, while the other was Nyx's bedroom. The bedroom's beads were striped black and white, vertically like the furniture, while the art room's beads were a picture of the Mona Lisa. "Wait right here." the dragoness instructed as she disappered into the art room's beads.~*

Jericho nods and does as he is bidden, staying in the exact spot Nyx had left him. Looking around the room, he takes in all the art he saw, knowing he couldn't draw a stick figure if his life depended on it. He takes a sniff of the inscense, giving a thinking 'Hmm'. He had never really thought of much as bad smelling, and the scent definitly wasn't bad smelling. This is, of course, the way of a mechanic who had axle grease, metal dust, and gas smell up his nose nearly every day. He grits his teeth a bit as his leg gives a whirr, then a deep 'Ker-chunk'. He sits down upon the floor just in time to see the mechanical right leg go limp. He gives a sigh, pressing a couple locks open where the mechanical leg connected with his upper leg, twisting it sideways and removing it slowly. Luckily, nothing got onto the floor. As Jericho waits for Nyx to return, he gives his leg a shake, to listen if anything rattled.

*~She returned, dragging a box on the floor, grunting and complaining in her own mind ('This thing must weigh two hundred pounds at the very LEAST...') the whole way to the hyena, who was sitting in the floor shaking his disconnected leg beisde his ear. "This is what the previous owner left. It's full of almost every tool imaginable. I'm sure you can find something." She disappeared into her art room again and returned this time with an easel and palette in hand. She sat the easel down about four feet from Jericho and tossed the clean palette onto the couch. "So, what do you do around this town?" Nyx asked as she rummaged through a bag selecting paints and brushes, and sitting them on the counter.~*

"Use to be a mechanic" He says as he opens the toolbox, nodding his thanks to Nyx. He rummages through the tools, finding some that looked as if they might work, getting to trying to pop open a plate on the leg. He looks up to Nyx for a second, seeing her readying art supplies. He hears a click as the plate budges a bit. He looks back down and pulls the plate back, looking within and digging around within at the gears and wireing, pulling at something. "Well, I found part of the problem" He says, starting to mumble to himself about a coin being stuck in a particular part in the gear. He continues to dig after pulling the coin free, trying to find what else had gotten into his leg.

Alcide had been out of it. Very, very out of it. He'd gotten distracted by what was probably a minor hallucination - all of the glowing lines in the streets and skies were very conducive to things like hallucinations, after all, especially if one was slightly... prone, at the moment. When he came back to reality, as it were, he found himself in the middle of the street, holding some art supplies.

The Cheshire Cat laughed. "Well then, it seems I've become an artist! Or that an artist has stopped seeming one," he said, grinning down at the canvas for a moment. His nigh-luminescent eyes - one blue and one green - shone in its plastic wrapping. "I suppose I should return you, then?" Alcide asked the canvas, tucking it under his arm. "Now let's see about your mistress..." The Cheshire closed his eyes, smiled, and began to fade out. He focused on the dragoness as he did.

When he appeared, he did so right over one of the stripey armchairs. It was kind enough to break his fall with but one lone squeak of displeasure at the suddenly-added weight. Alcide poked his colourful head over the back of the armchair, eyes wide in mock-horror. "Where have all the colours gone?!" he exclaimed dramatically. Then he looked around him, noticing the other canvases for the first time. "Oh, yes yes, of course. All into the paintings. Makes perfect sense." Alcide nodded curtly, still grinning.

"Welcome back to Undertown" Jericho gives a smirk at the Cheshire Cat, looking back to his leg as he digs the end of a thread out of a shock in his leg. He begins to pull the long string from it, and the shock was free. Closing the leg back up, he sets the coin and string aside, setting the leg back in it's place upon him, closing the locks and testing it out. It seemed to work alright now. he stands, placing the tools back into their box and closing it, pocketing the coin and string he found in his leg. "I suppose I should get going. I can put this back in place for you." He reaches down with his mechanical left arm, scooping up the box and hefting it up. He sets it upon his shoulder, the arm supporting most of the weight of it.

"Back?" Alcide asked, blinking. "Well I've hardly left. Or at least, I don't think I have..." The cheshire Cat pondered this a moment. "Well, what I think defines my reality. Ergo,  I haven't left. Perhaps I have left to you," the bouncy cat finished, smiling even as he sunk a little lower in the chair, leaving only the parts above his eyes and the tip of his tail visible. From there, he watched as Jericho fussed with his leg.

"How do you get strings in there?" Alcide asked, popping his head up a little more. "It seems like a rather odd thing to use for a storage place, a leg, and strings usually aren't the most persistent of items." The young cat cocked his head. "Have you visited any string factories lately?"

Jericho turns a bit, raising his eyebrow once more at the curious cat. "I.. don't use my leg for storage. the coin must have to left in there from the last time I worked on it, the string.. Well, I'm not so sure about that" He sets the toolbox inside the door Nyx had come out of with it, closing the door without looking in. He takes the string out of his pocket, wondering just how out of it this odd feline was. Unravelling the blue string, he drags it along the top of the couch in front of Alcide, slowly, but fast enough that the very end of the string bounced as it caught upon the fabric of the couch. "And I haven't been to any string factories lately"

*~ Nyx looked at the Cheshire and giggled at his odd humor as she took some of the unopened paints and placed them on the couch. "You don't have to go so soon Jericho. I haven't had an audience for quite a while." she said looking at both the hyena and the cat. "And it's nice to see you join us Alcide. Interesting name actually." Nyx mused, "And I guessed it right as well." She took a paint bottle and opened it up, squirtitng a little onto the palette with a satisfying phhht! She giggled again, and told the paint bottle, "S'cuse you!"~*

Alcide caught the string almost before it touched the head of the couch. "Nyah! Gotcha!" he exclaimed happily, giving it a little tug before releasing it. The curious boy looked up at Jericho. "You really ought to visit a string factory sometime," Alcide began, smiling. "You can get very... caught up in them." He laughed softly for a moment. "A bad pun; pardon."

The Cheshire Cat lowered his head again - he seemed to enjoy playing with height for the moment - and listened as Nyx spoke. "I like my name too. Thank you!" Alcide told her, wiggling the tip of his tail (it was curled around to the side, now, and was hanging off of the arm rest). He was very fond of his name, finding it very fitting.

Jericho gives a nod, dragging the string along the couch a bit more before laying it accross Alcide's ears. He takes a seat upon the couch, watching Nyx as she prepares. "I hope I can keep good company. Alcide seems like he's having no problem." He casts a glance over to the feline he spoke of, waiting to see how he delt with the string over his ears, as he takes off his jacket, folding it up quickly next to him and placing his arms upon the back of the couch. Even with his arms spread, he didn't smell bad. He was actually surprisingly well kept.

((Very true about the turns. But beyond that.... the OOC!  :squish: It's fine if you join, just try to keep the OOC-dom to a minimum :3))

...Hmm, thought Alcide as the string was placed across his ears. He twitched one experimentally, finding it to tickle the other one a bit. The Cheshire wrinkled his brow and looked up, trying to see the string. He flicked the ear that had been tickled, which in turn brushed it across the sensitive hairs on the opposite. Ha! Very well then! Alcide thought before flicking both of his ears as far out as they would go.

The string, for its part, drifted down to rest on the hair between his ears. Little devil is sure to try to cause trouble later, the young Cheshire thought to himself, looking up reproachfully before shooting his eyes over to Jericho. "Problem? Everyone has a problem. What's your problem?" Alcide asked, chuckling a little bit. He had amused himself again. Life was pretty amusing as a whole for the moment.

It was then that Alcide realised he was still holding the canvas. Well, practically sitting on, more like. He thought about it for a moment before deciding that if the canvas hadn't done anything about it by now it wasn't likely to in the future, so it ought to be alright. After all, anything bothered by getting sat upon was apt to raise a fuss almost immediately.

(( Yea, sorry for the OOC ^^;  ))

"Problem? Heh, well.." He raises his left arm, wriggling the mechanized fingers before reaching over right above Alicide's head, taking ahold of the string, pinching it between the two metal fingers. He was careful not to catch a piece of fur in the process. He then drags the string over the seat of the couch in front of the Cheshire, the tip flicking about as it caught at the material. Jericho found it rather amusing, almost like playing with a feral house cat. Most of which would run due to the mechanical noises from his parts.

*~Nyx watched the two, and was very amused, dipping brushes in paint and capturing the moment with quick, short, brush strokes. She admired the image that she'd formed in her head of the two guests, Alcide and Jericho, playing with one thread. "So, you guys up for going out to eat some chinese maybe?" She asked, still preoccupied with painting them on her canvas. "Unless you know of somewhere else you'd rather eat. My treat." She finished up the painting so quickly because it was a rather cartoonish characature (sp?) of the two. She smiled and tipped her head to the side, looking at the painting and trying to calculate if she needed to add something else.~*

Jericho's ears perk as he hears 'Chinese'. It was one of his favorite dishes. "Sounds good to me. How about you?" He asks Alcide, hiding the string for a moment in his jacket pocket. Jericho was glad Nyx had offered to pay, otherwise he wouldn't have looked very gentleman like for not offering to pay himself. He was nearly broke.

Alcide watched the string with a burning intensity - it was the most beautiful, symbolic thing he'd ever seen in his life, after all. To be fair, he was a somewhat drunk Cheshire cat, which can do these things to people. The grey, stripey feline reached out and touched the strong lightly, which sent little shatters of sparkle out of the string - at least to his eyes. "Wooowww...." he said, hitting it harder. Alcide began to go after it in truth then, both out of instinct and because of the cool visual effect it gave off each time he touched it. He wiggled, happy to be playing with this magical thing.

And then Nyx mentioned food. Alcide's ears perked up and he turned to look at her, the scenery leaving short colour-trails on his vision as he did. "I like Chinese..." Alcide said, sounds almost as though he were talking to himself. Then he grinned wide and raised one arm straight up in the air. "Chinese! Gung ho!" Alcide exclaimed, flicking his tail back and forth as he did. The string was, for the moment, forgotten.

*~ "Gung ho, it is." She said almost to herself chuckling. She turned the painting around for the two to see, then leaned it up against the wall along with all the others. "Lemme get some cash first." She dashed into her room, the beads jingling at her entrance and dug through one of her drawers, scattering clothes everywhere before finding a small black silk bag. She grabbed a couple of twenties from it and replaced the bag, slamming thr drawer shut behind her. "Let's go!"~*

Jericho stands and smooths out his shorts, looking down to Alcide. He draws the string from his pocket once more and sets it upon the Cheshire cat's head, letting one end of the string dangle between his eyes. He then stuffs his good paw into his jacket pocket starts to follow Nyx, looking back to make sure Alcide was following aswell.

Alcide stared hard at the string for a moment or two, then faded slowly out of existence, leaving the string behind. And where did he go? Jericho's back, because there's nothing better than a piggyback ride. "Gung ho!" Alcide repeated enthusiastically, pumping a fist in the air. He phased in just as a vixen began walking towards them. Alcide noticed her quickly, simply because she was moving. The Cheshire Cat blinked a couple of times, then smiled wide.

"You're not living in circles, are you?" Alcide asked happily.

Instead of "Hellfire K" I'm using "Nick",my real life name.

Nick stepped off the bus into the undertown wondering where he was.Sure enough, there was a sign that said "welcome to the Undertown".He walked with a hint of fear in his step with his guard up to the most he could have it up.Suddenly he heard someone coming and ran into a nearby cold...dark...alley.As soon as he found that a heartless was down there following him he took out his blade, the light enforcer, and busted the heartless in two with his blood red blade made of pure red rubies. After a while he remembered his long lost freind,Jenny,a vixen.Soon as he was walking down the same street he was before, now with a brave step and a grin on his face,he noticed a group of people and among them was...a vixen!"could that be Jenny?"Nick exclaimed ashe ran over to the group.

[[Guys... When you roleplay, you're supposed to wait for the other characters to respond to the story, not post back and fourth until the story is lost. I'm deleting the unnecessary posts.]]

((Good call, Nyx. And beyond that... OOC needs to go in brackets or parentheses. And perhaps I didn't make it clear in the first post (I probably didn't. I tried to imply as much as I could, so the lack of clarity is on me), but this is a high-futuristic roleplay set in the centre of a very lively underground city. Given the amount of races and cultures here, blades and the like are fine, but I promise you you'll find no large rocks here XD

...And please, don't throw fantasy in here as well. It's not really meant to be a fantasy setting. : P Sorry.))

Alcide looked at the yelling creature of indeterminate species with a raised eyebrow. "Is he drunk? I think he's drunk. And he's waving a sword... Shouldn't we call the cops?" the Cheshire cat asked, speaking fairly close to Jericho's ear simply by virtue of placement.

His tufted ears flicked in surprise when it hit him that the crazy guy was yelling about his new friends. He glanced at the dragon and the coyote slightly suspiciously. "Do you guys have swords too?" Alcide asked warily. People with weapons were dangerous, especially around here. And this new guy seemed like a madman. Alcide began to slowly reach for his cellphone, getting ready to hit 911. If this guy kept waving that thing around...

Alcide leaned over towards Nyx. "What training? Are you guys Narcs or something?" he asked curiously, his dual-coloured eyes wide. It didn't seem like it would fit... an artist and a mechanic, being Narcs who'd trained with this crazy boy on the street, but hey, who knew? In Drauge, all kinds of weird things happened. Maybe this was just another one of those weird things...

*~Trying to muffle her giggles from the cheshire's statement, she replied, "I haven't been trained to do anything. Like I said, I don't even know him." She swayed her tail back and fourth with glazed interest and looked back at Jericho and Alcide, "Now where were we? Gung Ho?"~*

Alcide let out a sigh of relief. "How lovely," he responded. Narcs scared him.... And now wouldn't be the best of times for him to run in to one, what with being a little tipsy and a little technically underage and all (well, at least for the standards of his race. Alcide was a little over 70, though he looked only 15). At the mention of where they'd been headed, Alcide's ears perked up. "Chinese! The food from the great dragon lands! Away! Avast!" the Cheshire exclaimed, waving a pointed finger around and squirming delightedly.

Reaching back with his good paw, Jericho pokes Alcide as he wiggles. "Yea, Can hear my gut growlin' already" He chuckles, following after Nyx. He went over in his head what he might order, but the answer came quickly. Steamed dumplings and chicken fried rice with soy sauce. His favorite

*~The dragoness flashed a grin at the two and walked a little ways until they arrived at the mouth of a very unfriendly looking alley. At the very end was some neon light flashing. "That's where we're heading." She said pointing at the green neon. The sign flashed dully as if it were ready to go out at any moment and read 'The Jade Dragon.' Looking back to see if the others were following, she said, "Don't let the appearances get to you; this is where you'll find most wyrms of this town... and most of them look like brutes, but are no such creatures."~*

Alcide tilted his head one way, then the other, smiling, well, like a Cheshire Cat. Dark alleyways didn't bother him in the slightest. Why would they? If things ever got bad, he could leave. Plus, the dark was nothing to be scared of. Neither were dragons, even if they did (as Nyx claimed) look frightening. So long as the place would feed him, he liked it. And besides... That neon sign was pretty....

Alcide stared at it for a couple moments before fading off of Jericho's back and on to the sign. He was *just* light enough for it not to collapse, and Alcide took advantage of this fact in order to poke at the already-dying sign. It flicked and buzzed with each prod, which made the Cheshire Cat laugh. "I like your place, Nyxie - nice nice like rice mice!" Alcide called down to her, a gleeful expression on his face.

*~"I do too." She replied to the cheshire's remark, knocking on a red door with golden trim. A small section of wood slid back revealing two piercing red eyes.
"Yeeeah?" a scratchy voice rang out from behind the door.
"C'mon. You know who I am." Nyx sighed.
"Who's your friends?" the voice demanded.
"Nobody that should concern you. They're good." she nodded, trying to gain access inside.
"Aaaiiiiight. But only 'cuz it's you Nyx." The voice said acceptingly, closing the small wood section and opening the door.~*
