{[If this is supposed to go in Video games, move it if you must.]}
Tell us what's your favorite Video Game (B)ack (G)round (M)usic, post a link if you want.
-
thats really a tough question, brawl has great music but from different games, though alot are remixed... and theres the final fantasy games...and kingdom hearts... kirby games... zelda... sooo many to choose from lol
-
Here is some music I picked out from a game called Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.
Betrayal{[Soo sad!]}, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8MLqpfUIOI
Oppression{[My kind of battle theme!]}, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSsX_j33qso
Punishment{[I based a character off the guy in the video.]}, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yedKCteCL28
I also like the music in Twilight Princess, too bad it was just midis, and not real Orchestra music.
{[The links do not work, it's because YouTube took down the guy who made them, probably another case of Copy Right infringment. What bull.]}
-
o o o love that game hk-47 for the win lol
also world of goo has godly music search conflict of interest on youtube, you'll see what i mean
( sorry i cant link to it im on my wii :( )
-
Wow! That's not the kind of music you would expect from a download! You think of old-school beep boop music or something less from a download.
-
ya i know, and its ALL like that good, and the game was made by TWO people... two
-
Also, The Force Unleashed Original Sound Track, like...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFPcYJxwxBs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AleeJmpPH68
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VunlYg1P-hw
And have your heard of Castle Crashers? There's a guy on Newground who does some music for it, Maestrorage I think he was called.
-
I'll have to go with the Kingdom hearts bgm
-
Ooh! I know, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmBUyEisCFQ
-
oooh thats a good one! i also love all dynasty warriors songs :)
-
what about the music from Eternal Sonata?
-
ive never actually played it, is it good?
-
it is if you can stand the 50 billion music puns (the main bad guy is named Count Waltz for chrissake)
-
sounds like my kinda game, puns are funny imo
-
Just stay away from Artix Entertainment, it's got puns, but also alot of crλp that comes out of nowhere.
-
nice use of Lamda
-
Yes, it avoids crλp like this -> crud
EDIT: Yay! It does not say "flaming bag of dog doo" as a sensor anymore!
-
i would have to say i like the bgm for castlevania especailly Symphony of the night for the playstation
-
Most of the misuc from skies of arcadia
-
I'm more into the Port of Adia theme from Turok 2 for the N64.
-
I remember that stage that is one of my favorites
also some of the final fantasy background music
-
Another Jedi? What, did you guys suddenly start breeding when I wasn't looking?
Well, whatever.
I also like the music from Shining Force, simple but memorable. I find myself humming the tunes and people allways ask "What song are you humming?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo9bgGbK_lA
-
Any music from I-Ninja or the Syro series
That ethereal stuff always gets me.
-
I'm partial to the hell March (There are actually 3 of them) series of music from the Command and Conquer series
-
Resident Evil 2 Back Ground Music.
But I love the Opening and Ending songs for Resident Evil Outbreak!!!
-
the psychopath themes in dead rising :D
-
I love all the music from the Legend of Zelda games, but some of the music in Tales of Symphonia is really great too.
-
Im changing my answer Legend of the Dragoon OST for the friggin win.
-
Still partial to the Port of Adia... but I could add some from the Castlevania's as secondaries. On why for the Port of Adia... every time I hear it, I think of how there might be at least a dozen violinists and bass guitarists who may've ended up with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome just from that one song.
-
I'd say my fav is the moon theme for DuckTails on the NES
-
Hmm what about the sound track from Legend fo Dragoon
-
ooo i love boss themes in that game
-
yeah I have some of em on my school acount along with piano sheet music for One winged angel (the music that plays in FFVII when you fight sepheroth)
-
Secret of mana and Breath of fire for the Snes and also Chrono Trigger ^w^ i love there music it's so inspirational ^w^ during some of the fights
-
Well the halo soundtracks are all original
-

-
Chrono Trigger (Theme of Magus, Frog's Theme and Lucca's Fanfare FTW!)
Megaman (MM2 opening theme is awesome, as is the first level's BGM in Megaman & Bass) and Megaman Zero (Departure, For Endless Fight, Theme of Zero)
-
o.0 I know super smash bros melee
-
Chrono Trigger has by far the best music in its game. Yasunori Mitsuda is a melodic genius. There's a reason that there are more Chrono Trigger remixes than any other game worldwide.
-
Drakengard 2, symphonic poem... That whole game has a great soundtrack. :3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejyf9cMYShY (there's the opening)
And yes, the Smash games always have good music!
-
Heard the extended "Frog's Theme" from ChronoTrigger?
-
No I haven't, but I've heard Frog's Theme with lyrics added XP
-
Oh the lost woods theme from Zelda Ocarina of Time ^w^ it catchy and it always gets stuck in my head for at least three weeks max when ever i hear it ^w^
-
aeris's theme from FFVII http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOpAPQAFPc4
-
the music of most of the megaman games ^w^
-
actually since FFVII is one game all the music (the PS1 version though cause the music on PC ver is crapper i know i have both versions at least twice thats how much i like the game)
-
Yeah, FFVII Had a great soundtrack, but it used some horrible MIDI's... But I love the re-orchestrations I've heard from it!
-
Inon Zur, Steve Jablonsky, Mark Griskey, Jack Wall, Jeremy Soule, and Harry Gregson-Williams make the best music in the entire Video Game Industry. I can't list all of the games they made music for, but I'll note a few, like The Force Unleashed, Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and others.
-
Right now I'm really into "Get it Together"
Gamers will recognize it more as the theme for Little Big Planet
-
Little Big Planet... I've played it, and the music was strangely catchy...
-
The sound track for oblivion isn't bad
-
The sound track for oblivion isn't bad
I agree with you on that one
Also the music in Left 4 dead Honestly there are some parts that even scare me >_< Those darn smokers >_< and witches>_< those are the top two zombies i hate in that game the most
-
I'm good at killiing witches actualy
-
Speaking of killing witches, who here has played any of the Banjo Kazooie series?
-
meh, a little bit I guess, oh, Eternal Sanata has a good soundtrack
-
The only reason it has a good sound track is because it's based off a fantasy of Chopin's mind as he's dying.
-
i also liked FFVIII's music as well (not midi's yay). although the orchestra versions of all FFVII games sound so awesome. and the original MARIO bros music, lol i played it on my NES yesterday.
-
guitar hero lol
-
/\ which one, my favorite was guitar hero rocks the 80's (or guitar hero III cause i could play tetris).
-
the paper mario series has great music... oh and kirby and the crystal shards (64) has awesome music as well.. O2 ftw
-
o.0 I forgot about rock band, and elite beat agents
-
Some of the old school games has a lot of really great music, i like some of the music for the final fantasys for the snes
-
lol how about the final fantasy's for the NES?. and raiden II/III have some pretty strange BGM at some points. (singing in a really high pitched annoying voice in japanese doesn't count as real music)
-
(Heh, Raiden, didn't think of that)
The Final Fantasy games for NES and SNES had some pretty good music, but then again, most gems on those systems had good music. 'Mike Tyson's Punch Out!' anyone? The Legend of Zelda for NES? Super Metroid's boss music? Super Mario Bros. 3 airship theme? :P
-
OLD commodore 64/amiga 500 game music was so awesomely cool and retro.
-
Punch Out is where it's at for me... That and Bubble Bobble.
Though when you said Raiden, jad'thor, it reminded me of my favorite soundtracks. The soundtracks from the Touhou series, though I doubt anybody knows the games ^^; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK9sNJeQ51M There's a remix of one of the boss themes ^^
-
Halo 3 has a really omnious score on it.. although it is a pretty crap game. And i always liked the Call of Duty 5 soundtrack too, but thats more about the voice acting I think (and again, not a good game)
-
i like the music in Rome:Total War (awesome game btw) actually the music in all the Total War games is good ^^
-
Punch Out is where it's at for me... That and Bubble Bobble.

wow it does remind me of the raiden music. and o completely forgot robocod 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aj4e15NmbU awesome title music.
-
Heh, that's actually pretty cool... I'm usually a big fan of MIDI music, just as long as it's done well
-
:shcoked: *Gasps* How on earth could I forget Bubble Bobble!? Man, the hours I spent as a kid playing that, forever humming the catchy theme ^^
That reminds me, the old Dragon Warrior/Quest games had some pretty decent music.
-
Bubble Bobble, how could you forget Sonic the Hedgehog
-
Bubble Bobble, how could you forget Sonic the Hedgehog
I'm pretty sure it has been mentioned, I think I said it in one of my first posts in this thread. In any case, both the classic and semi-modern/some modern games had very good music.
-
I honestly believe that the soundtrack for the video game The Darkness (360/PS3) is the most beautiful game score I've ever heard. Gustaf Grefberg did an amazing job. It's a shame the game was subpar.
Here's one of the tracks from the game: "Gustaf Grefberg - Jenny's Theme"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guvohujDdEQ
-
disgaea has really good music....and penguins ^^ whats not to love
-
most of the tetris games have good bgm.
-
That would have to be a tie between:
Lion's Den Theme on Wild Arms 2
Knightblazer's Theme on Wild Arms 2
Eggman (Final Boss Theme) - Sonic 2
Django Vs. Sabata Theme - Boktai
Wily's Fortress - Mega Man 2
Weird...I have alot of favourite themes from sequels. I never noticed that before.
-
Elder Scrolls III and IV, Morrowind and Oblivion respectively
Mmmmm...
-
Elder Scrolls III and IV, Morrowind and Oblivion respectively
Mmmmm...
Yeah, climb Dive Rock and just listen the the music with the view of the Imperial City at sun-rise/sun-set.
But I like the Town themes the most.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HKeA2G3in4 Citys and Towns part one

-

these are my fav themes from that game, but they are all great
-
I like the Penny CO one, the Techno mixed with the Baroque is perfect.

Here's the Theme Song for my all time best Role Play character, Frank Keegan.

For sheer enjoyment, it's probably the soundtrack from Final Fantasy VII. After playing through the game once, then coming back to that famous scene above midgar... it brings a tear to my eye :'(
However, i think the Halo theme takes some beating, i remember riding the Warthog off of Installation 04 at the end of Halo 3 with three friends in tow ^_^
-
Shadow of the Colossus and either Shogun or Rome Total War. It fuses with the gameplay so brilliantly.
-
Dead or alive 4 and street fighter 2 and 4 had also very good BGM
-
i would have to say my fav BGM music came From Guilty Gear ^^ i finally found my Xbox version of it :D
