Title: Hero's Drive
Post by: Renaud Magicpaw on December 10, 2008, 02:39:33 PM
This rp takes place in an alternate universe, where fursonas live side by side with humans but, a great evil has been moving around the world spreading fear and terror where ever it goes.  Shortly before this evil started moving an excavation team stumbled upon a chamber with strange, almost gear like, items in it.  Some upon touching these 'gears' changed and gained powers while the 'gear' changed into something inconspicuous, i.e. a watch or a necklace.  However not every one is affected by the 'gears' and they do have a price.  Once you touch one after you change you can not change back unless some one steals you gear and then you loose all your memories, out side of your name and school taught skills (such as reading and writing).  Also after some one has used one, that 'gear' cannot be used by some one else until the true owner dies but the true owner, without any memory of having one and back in his original form isn't an obvious owner of that individual 'gear'.  These 'gears' have come to be know as Hero Drives, due to the fact that many people who have one become a hero but some people use the 'gears' for evil and are villans.  This rp takes place a few years after the descovery of the Hero Drives.

Heres the information I need

Name:  Kora Torrent
Age:  17ish
Original race:  Human
Hero Race:  Anthro Ferret
Hero Status:  Lost  (the statuses are Lost, meaning their Hero Drive has been stollen, Active, Meaning they still have theirs, and None, meaning they don't have one yet.)
Hero Powers:  fire and tech manipulation, also he can get into fairly small spaces for his size
Height & Weight: (only list if different than what is listed on profile)

I will be waiting for 4 more people before I start this one up just so you know

Post by: Fyroh Ilqe Gahn on December 10, 2008, 09:00:04 PM
Name: Socrano Il'tain
Age: 20. His face retains a youthful, almost teenage look, but his body is tall and developed as an adult.
Original race: Human
Hero Race: "Angel" (taller, and with wings)
Hero Status: Active (A golden ring, with a cloudy white gem on it)
Hero Powers: He can glide for relatively long distances, and also use his wings to gain altitude, but not for too long, or too high. The wings are more of an aerial aid than a flying device. Along with this, his jumping height is rather above most peoples', however, he can't jump onto buildings in one leap or anything; it's more like just a bit of extra boost in his jump. He also seems to have limited manipulation over light, being able to darken a room, and also concentrate light into more focused beams. This rarely has an offensive use, and is more to confuse an enemy, or to get more light on his book.
Height & Weight: 6ft 5, 200 lb

Considering this character is different to my fursona, I'll describe him below, and may include a picture at a later date.

He's very tall, yet thin, with limited muscle upon him. Despite this, his size advantage gives him a boost in battle, and his weight (because of his height) allows him to compensate for his lack of pure musclepower. He has black hair, sharp eyes, and wears a grey scarf at almost all times. He generally prefers to fight with a blade, yet can handle guns and machinery quite well. One notable thing is that he uses a backhanded grip; meaning, in effect, he holds the sword backwards, allowing for more deadly slash-hack attacks. He often fights with a curved, backhanded sword, and a dagger in his left hand to compensate for his recovery time after a slash. He has strong morals, but this doesn't mean he'll use his abilities in a fashion as to slave away for the government and help catch crooks.

I hope you don't mind me joining as a non-furry. Is this all okay with you?

I don't really know where I am supposed to be. How will the characters finaly meet up with eachother? If it's a spoiler, don't tell me, but I'm paranoid that I'll send the RP into a flailing mess of confusion from some side plot that can't tie in with the main plot.

u could do what i did start off on your own but stumble across the others, just try not to make the story u start in too confusing like mine was just a mech looking for wood for a forge. simple but it says what my life is sorta like, but it dosent set me apart from the rest of the story.

I don't have any plan for how this one should go after my first post to tell the truth.  In fact the concept behind it came from a dream lol.
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: ST-84 Sahelanthropus on December 11, 2008, 01:06:01 AM
Ok, I got it, he was a miner when they founf the gears, and he saw his co-workers turn into super humans -or something like that- and stole one of those gear things using some heavy machinery and went to study them at his place... but this is TWO YEARS after that, so maybe I'll just start off with him at his cabin near the mines keeping people TFO so they don't try to loot the mine.

Maybe... if it works for you.

hmmm that could work, but then again, it does have flaws, but i like the idea nonetheless, so i would be after like, doku then right?
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: PhantomStone on December 11, 2008, 03:06:54 AM
u can post now, just the ppl that have posted don't post till every one posts, that was we don't leave ppl out (this is actually a serious rp rule)
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: ST-84 Sahelanthropus on December 11, 2008, 03:07:23 AM
What flaws? I mean, yes, but what?

I hate/love that rule.
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: Golge on December 11, 2008, 03:09:46 AM
o its a minor flaw, sorry  i meant to put singular but i wasn't thinking, just if it was in order, there may be long gaps for when characters post, if you don't understand still let me know, cuz i know what i mean but you might not get my logic. O_O my mind sometimes thinks in different ways than other peoples
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: PhantomStone on December 11, 2008, 03:13:16 AM
ya but in the end would u reallly want it be that. u'd rather post really fast a few times, but every one leaves or don't post and let ppl catch up and then the story might actually get finished (and i see the flaws like some ppl arn't on the ff a lot like once a month but we can work around)

(that the ppl that are serious about posting say so now and at least be on like every 2 or 3 days and we'll wait for you, if u arn't gonna be on every 2 or 3 days we won't save a place for u)

((gizor basically this means we post in turns, like we have a posting order, and we go like that like kora posts then me then betrayer, than u then doku and then fyroh))
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: Vosur Aekira on December 11, 2008, 03:14:37 AM
Name: Vosur Aekira
Age: 24
Original Race: Human
Hero Race: Bipedal, Two-tailed White Wolf
Hero Status: Active, but has not used it yet. (The set of shades and glasses-chain holding it on him when he moves)
Hero Powers: Sensory perceptions have been enhanced. Sight enhanced with Infrared (thermal)/Low-light/Focal (able to get minute details from distant objects) visions and capability to switch between them, eye color changes with vision change. Smell enhanced by specie's muzzle shape, can "track" most scents. Hearing sensitivity enhanced by specie's earshape, able to hear various frequency and decible ranges for sound (most beyond human senses). Temporary "dashing" due to the prosthetics he has, bursting off in speeds rivaling smaller turbine-driven aircraft.
Limitations: As with each of the sensory enhancements, their hyper-sensitivities can cause problems due to over-exposure, and may require precautions taken in place with using those senses (earplugs in loud places, vision switching in different enviroments/lights, ect.). Due to the amount of brainpower required to maintain such "super senses", he can only use one of those "super senses" at a time. The loudness of the thrusters in his legs can cause hearing-loss for him if he overuses them without hearing protection, can only maintain the dashing for about 5 seconds at a time.
Height/Weight: (Same as Profile, if not visible let me know)

Minor Bio: Was a maintenance personnel for the military, a hydraulic machine malfunctioned and caused him to lose his legs by severing. A set of prototype prosthetics were created as his leg nerve-lines were still intact, infused into the new legs. The Hero Drive he found changed his entire appearance from his human form, but he has yet to find out his potential of his new body. He lost his original identity when he became what he is now, his old name lost in history as he is now "Vosur Aekira".

Wing it, I don't need an order for posts, but just an fyi my char is asleep so some one might want to 'stumble' upon the room he is in, notice in my post I didn't give any discriptions of the room so for all I care it could be in a friggin castle location doesn't realy matter lol

actualy a rolls royce phantom is so large a mini cooper can fit in one wheel well, so how bout the largest car you can pick up is a mini coupe,  and gizor, I doubt the cops would fire on you, this world isn't only a human one, I even said people walk side by side with furrs
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: ST-84 Sahelanthropus on December 11, 2008, 07:28:07 PM
A mini cooper, the smallest car I could think of, weighs at least 2,496 lbs..

That's a little more than a short ton. I guess that is reasonable for a super hero-type-ish character.

Man, I hate it when I gotta go to bed when I'm not tired and there are RPs to RP in them.

My eyes are burning from the computer screen, if I'm not RPing I'm playing Mass Effect, or Block Land. And if I'm not on the computer I'm playing Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy in the bot matches.

Okay luke you are now officialy accepted into the rp, next time though don't post until you have been accepted, and since your hero status is "lost" that means you had a drive and lost it and as such forgot you had it and lost your powers but are drawn toward your gear, like I am being drawn to mine which Betrayer has his mits on.

Dangit, my nephew wanted to play Mass Effect so I let him play and I was gone and he would think I'm wierd if he saw me on The Furry Forums, so that's why I became inactive in the middle of a post.

Here's Anton, again as cheap as I am it's a Gaia Dream Avatar, http://public2.tektek.org/img/av/0812/d14/0724/319f63.png

Should I wait for Kora, or Luke? Because one of them is in the lead to go see Trowa and Vosur, and Anton the last to leave the cabin, besides Gizor, who hasn't posted in that part. So it would seem wierd for Anton to be the first up to see Trowa and Vosur. Edit: Whatever.

My friend Mars1040 says it's cheating if you edit RP posts.

If you edit them before someone makes another post, it should be alright... but unless you edit them for grammar/spelling mistakes, then it shouldn't.
Title: Re: Hero's Drive
Post by: ST-84 Sahelanthropus on December 15, 2008, 04:53:09 AM
So, if I made the post saying that Frank pulled out his gun and pointed at so and so, then so and so posts and fire first, killing Frank, then I go back and edit it, saying I fire first to kill so and so. That would be cheating, but just to fix a minor error from a spelling typo or something like that is ok.

Awesome. I did the same thing once and my last save was when I landed on Virmire. I'm like "Crλp! I just killed one of my party members!"

It's too bad about the Genophage, though.

It killed me when I had to make the choice on Virmire... It took me like an hour to make the choice. I felt that if I went to save Ash, then the Geth and possiblly Saren would take my bomb and kill us all anyway. So, in the end I chose Kaiden, because he was the one guarding the bomb. I thought I could make it to Kaiden fast enough, then run back for Ashely, but the bomb was ticking... and I had to leave her behind. When the cutscene showed the bomb blow up on Virmire, I cried my eyes out, on one mission I lost two members of my squad, Wrex and Williams.

It used to be like a character died in a game and you wouldn't care, because you didn't feel like they were your friend, and you didn't get to know them. Back then, they were just pixels to the player, but today they can make you feel for them, as if they were real people. But that might just be me.

nope i feel that way too :) even some bosses make you sad, take cliff from dead rising for example, his death scene almost made me cry, though he terrified me almost as much as adam O_o

Adam the clown? He sure was scary, even his death was freaky.

Oh, I forgot to finish my post. I'll go to the RP and fix it.

I don't know how to use Movie Maker, or whatever people use to make YTPs.

I have a lot of funny ideas for them, though.
