Title: What happens will Happen, no matter the cost. (Furry D&D part 2)
Post by: Thaddeus Q. Wolfe on November 29, 2008, 07:58:52 PM
That's right! we're back! Oh Yeah! OwO some new things to add to part two, time has advanced about twenty years. The original cast has aged respectively. THe kingdom that was saved is uinder siege again, now not by a terrible dragon lord but by an acursed illness that strikes people unawares. some characters with higher wills and constitutions (such as those in their primes, teens and young adults) are not at risk for it. However, young children and older adults are dying from it, seemingly within days of catching it. Now good King Simel raised one son out of his three children, the other two were sadly lost during the dragons reign of terror. And young Prince Thomas has been well trained by the kings advisor Shadow, and has grown to love Shadows apprentice. But here's the thing, Simel has caught the plague and Shadow, realizing what has happened has been able to put the good king into a deep slumber, passing the torch temporarily on to Thomas until his father has been cured and those survivng with the curse saved. Okay, so we are going to need some people to fill in the ranks of Tommy's party, say, five or six people. So, character stats please. ^^

The boy is also a pacifist, although Shadow always seems a bit wary of him. While he is often sharp with the other initiates, he has never said anything unkind to Archaic. Almost as if...

Is Tezztor Ne'taku resistant to all spells, including White Necromancy(healing) and other support spells?

alright alright......

*clears throat and readies the mountain dew bottle*

Shadow finished chanting the sleep spell that would soon be falling on the dying king Simel. His son, Prince Tommy, now in his late teens; kneeled at his fathers bedside in worried conversation.
"My son, *cough* my rule is nearing it's end, you must take my crown."

"Father, I can't!" Tommy begged, taking his fathers balding paw. "You can beat this like you beat the dragon, defeat it like you defeated the demon!"

Simel coughed into his other paw and and whezzed, feeling his eyes grow heavy."My son, take the crown. This curse is killing me." He took his paw from Tommy and removed the golden circlet from his brow and placed it on his son's head. "The kingdom is yours now." THe old king let sleep take him, the years added to his body by the curse seemed to lesten, he took on a younger, more peacefull look.
Tommy looked up at his fathers advisor, the mage shadow.

"What do we do now?" He sobbed.

"I must complete Arkes training, teach you what you must still learn. There is much to do, and very little time to do it in. Like your father however, my time is at an end to, i hold no power any longer accept for crowning you at your inauguration. Come, we must fiond arke!" And with that the pair left the room. SDhadow looked back at the old sick fox in his deep slumber. "I know my master, he is young. But he will find a cure for you."

Arke was to be found in the mages library. He hated death and anything to do with it, so whenever possible he stayed far away from the cursed. Shadow understood, and he never really pressed the issue. Now Arke was in one of the aisles between bookshelves, watching as a pair of smoke figures danced on his paw. He had to focus to do that sort of thing, and focusing calmed him. And he needed some tranquility right now.

Shadow paused by the entrance to the library, motioning for Tommy to go in first. "Go. You fetch him, I still have some things to prepare for you."

{[Cince there is no OOC thread I'll just commence the begining of Out Of Character-Class cloggage right here.]}

Geoffrey has never had anyone close to him die before, so in this moment he does not really know how to react or what to say. He stands in one position like a statue just outside of the Kings room. "So, Tommy is the King now." he said to himself in a blank tone.

{[This seems like a very interesting story, and I would hate for it to die so young.]}

The Goldie jumped suddenly, the smoke immediately dissipating. "Tommy!" He put a hand on his chest, sighing softly. "Sorry, I just... you snuck up on me..." He stands and dusts off his pants, only to see Shadow standing before him. "Come, Thomas," the feline said with a smile, I have a few things that will aid you on your journey. Apprentice! Wait by the door." Arke nodded and waited by the door to direct the others inside as they came.

Geoffrey walked through the doors to the Library and removed his helmet, revealing a pale bald head with shining copper eyes and a grim look on his face. He kneeled down to the King, "I am Geoffrey Tallerond-Ash, at your service."

A lone dragon walked through the crowded streets through the city, not knowing what had drawn him from his peaceful live outside of the known civilization. Even after so many years, people remembered the evil left behind by the dragon that had ruled the lands with an evil grasp.
As he walked he could hear the townspeople shout at him, although he had done nothing to them, but they all despised him because of him being a dragon.
He still kept going, not knowing where he got the power to continue from, and walked towards the huge castle in the center of the city.

A raptor and a iguana circled each other, the larger raptor wielding a mystical dagger. The female iguana sneered at him, spinning her duel sai around her claws waiting for the perfect moment to attack. She was a good bit leaner and shorter then him but her ferocity easily matched his. In a instant she bolted forward and kicked at him but missing due to his quick dodge to the left. He cut along her leg and she cried out but didn't loose her focus, his attack served only to infuriate her further. She slashed him him with her blade, and then with her other spinning them about with such speed they seemed like blurs. But this raptor was a master at close combat and even with one of his arms behind his back he managed to easily parry her attacks. "What are you waiting for, I'm right here hit me" he taunted. Seeing a opening in her attacks he powerfully parried one of her attacked sending her off balance, quickly he followed up by a savage backhand across her face. She fell to the ground and dropped her blades. He stuck his talons on her chest and growled. "You have failed" he remarked coldly as he raised his dagger to throw. She covered her face for several moments before hearing a chink besides her head. Gasping she looked and his blade stood stuck into the ground near her head. "I'm sorry" she sniffled. "I will do better next time you will be proud of me"

The raptor turned and walked a few feet back before turning back towards her. "Get up." he said coldly, after which she stood up still sniffling. "Do you understand why you lost?" he asked her expecting a good answer. She looked down at the ground ashamed of her failure. "I..I let my guard down." he managed. The raptor walked up to her and rested his claw on her shoulder. Age was beggining to wear on him as well as the curse that had striken the entire kingdom. "I'm not going to last long, this curse is going to be the death of me. You have a lot of potential and a lot of malice in you, you can do anything you want in this world if you so choose to. Don't let your feelings for me get in the way of your duty, there will come a time when I will call upon you to honor my wishes." he explained as he raised her muzzle with his claw. She deeply respected him and even had a crush on the much older raptor, and had a hard time hiding it. "As you wish master, I will kill anybody that stands in my way. Forgive my weakness, I had a hard time attacking you because my emotions got in the way." she said looking into his eyes hoping for an embrace she knew she would never receive. "Relax.. "he said softly as he kissed her on the muzzle. "You have been a perfect student and a great friend. The world will come to fear your prowess with your blades and your magical skills. My legacy will live on through you."

 He reached down and picked up his dagger and forcively placed it in her claws. "But master..." she said rebelling his action. "You no longer need to call me master, I no longer see a student but a comrade. I have taught you all I can and once I am gone no emotions will stand in the way of your fury." he said to her before bowing slightly. He wrapped his arm over her shoulder and together they walked along the street in the marketplace towards the citidel. "Take good care of the Demon's Bane dagger. It is very powerful and its abilities can be corrupting." he let out as he watched her twirl it about. She smiled back at him before sheathing it, "Every kill I make with it will be in your honor" Despite her kindness torwards him, she was a very ferocious and murderous woman, cold and callous to the end. Her love for him is the only thing that seemed to calm her.

Arke ushered in the two whom Shadow must have known were going to arrive, leading them to the felines desk. Shadow bowed to them and smiled. "Welcome. I am glad you all could come. I think it should be no surprise that I have sought protection for the prince in his journey. You all have quite a task before you, but I chose you for your loyalty to the royal bloodline, and your prowess in combat. I know you all are aware that a curse has beset the land, but what only a few know is that this courts prior mage is the cause. I thought him dead until recently, but it seems he has returned. I would accompany Thomas to confront him myself, but I have too many of the afflicted to tend to. For your efforts I can guarantee you the gratitude of the entire realm, a very large payment, and the adventure of many lifetimes. Naturally, you will have access to whatever supplies you may need or desire. Make haste, please, and lift this curse."

Through Shadows speech Arke wandered to a window, watching a figure cut through the crowds below on his way to the castle. He watched him curiously, then left the library for the entryway several floors below. Shadow watched him leave, and gave little more than a curious glance. "The armory is in the east wing, and you are more than welcomed to choose whatever you will. Now Thomas, I have something for you in the archive room."

"I'll head to the armory and return to the main hall shortly." walking back away to the armory to replace his old heavy suit of armor for a much lighter -but still strong enough to hold up in a fight- training uniform (http://public2.tektek.org/img/av/0812/d08/1149/f00384.png). He also switched off his Gladius for a Pata. He returned to the main hall looking much diferent than before. "I am ready when everyone else is."

The dragoon continued walking through the crowded streets, pushing his way through the crowds because he wouldn't get through the bunch of angry furs otherwise. When he reached the gate, he looked up at the mighty citadel just as the gates slammed shut in front of him. Two guards then approached him.
"We don't want your kind here, filth!" One of the guards shouted at him, clearly not going to let the dragon into the citadel.
"Go back to where you came from!" The other shouted. "You have no business in inside these gates. So scram!"
The dragon looked at the two guards covering the gates, not having the strength to pick up a fight which wouldn't do any good, even if he did want to make the two guards take back their taunting words.
So he simply stood there, ignoring what the guards were saying to him as he held his ground and waited for someone else to need to go through the gates.

{[For the record, I'm not a Knight, I'm more of a Battle Mage.]}

Geoffrey heard shouting coming from outside the gates, and walked outside to see two guards yelling at a lone Dragon. "Hey, what's the comotion here?" He glanced over at the Dragon, just standing there on the other side of the gate, and glared angrily at the two guards. "This one did nothing wrong, let him through. Now." He said, simply, without threatning gestures or weapons, he just gave the order. With his copper reptilian eyes glaring out from behind the mask of his armor the guards looked over at eachother... wodering wether or not to trust his words.

{[Ok, who's desision is it to have the guards open the gate or not? I feel I am not the one who should.]}
