Since I'm doing a demo reel as the big thing this semester, I'm going to have it as a separate thread to show my progress since that's what I'm doing with my course forum. I plan to focus on architecture for my demo reel. I did a quick search on floor plan and I got 3 choices from a simple search engine on the first site I went to. I'm going to model, texture, light, render, etc and animate a camera walking through the house.
Here are my picks: (I'm using links since the pics are pretty big.)
The floor plans can be individually clicked for a better picture.

Third:

I wouldn't mind getting an opinion on which to do. I only have until the last day of the semester which is April 27th to everything done and in video format.

Those are amazing! :lovestruck4:

Do the third! Do the third!
It's a pretty green house :D

LOVES the architecture idea! Not thrilled about the houses, but I do like the layout of the second house. It has some nice bones to it and would be a great bachelorette pad. When can I move in?

Sounds like a nice oppurtunity to bake yourself a UV map.
You know, Turn on your settings for one frame while bakeing it to a UV map.
Then use that map with luminosity turned up and everything else turned off. It's supposed to save time rendering.
If you're doing a prodject like that you most likely know that already.

sakjfdhliwaeuvhckjloiu *spazzes* THOSE ARE SO COOL! I bet you could get a lot of money from those plans if you sold them to some developers! Those would some really awesome houses! :3 I love the first two. =3

Love the 2nd house, Its my dream...

Unfortunately, I have to do a big overhaul on what I'm doing. I have to send and email an try another google for related companies and reference. After that I'll get something up here.

That's great. So, I have a few curiosities.
How do you plan on doing the surface for the windows?
I noticed in the image it has zero visabilaty into the house.
Will you use just a reflective surface or will you use a texture?
I know in lightwave's surface editor panel you can set the reflection to use a texture. It's been a while so I can't
remember the correct terms.
But if you're going to move the camera try to keep in mind the fresnel effect.
I was going to try and explain it and sound smart, but it got complicated.
Check this link out to read about it and see how you might be able to use this principle in your program.
I doubt 3dmax has the same panels in the same terminology.

I'll either make the glass 100% reflective and have something unrenderable, like a photo, to reflect or i will put a texture onto the reflective surface to cheat it.
