Hi everyone.  I just signed up on this site, so I am kind of new, and don't really know much about it just yet.  I am a nineteen year old gay college-going furry.  My discovery of myself as a Furry has been sort of progressive.  The first knowledge of Furries came from a random internet search (the subject of which I can't even remember anymore.  Lol).  At first I thought it was kind of an interesting, if strange, concept.  However as I gradually got more accustomed to the idea, I started looking more and more at the various Furry communities that existed.  At first I viewed myself more as a supporter of Furries than an actual Furry myself.  But as they say, one thing leads to another, and now I think I am ready to consider myself as an actual furry as well.  As a recently discovered Furry, I would be glad to listen to any advice and support that anyone can give, for although the beginning of the experience is exciting, it is also very confusing for me, and I'm not sure who of my friends and family to confide in or to what corners of life this experience will take me.  I apologize for the wall-o-text and hope this is the beginning of a long and meaningful time in my life.  So anyways, I just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself and all that jazz.  Peace!

Welcome to the fandom and to the furry forums. Glad you chose to be a supporter even before you labeled yourself as one. It can be nice to find others with similar interests, so dont feel afraid to ask any of us questions. Dont be worried if you get different answers being a furry is different to a lot of people

there's nothing wrong with your intro, in fact, its better to share some stuff in your intro, it makes it easier for people to get to know you ^^

Lol.  Thanks for saying "hi" everyone.  I have a question.  I'd like to make an avatar (or whatever those pictures under the username are called.)  I'm going to try drawing one first.  Problem is I am a terrible artist (and I've never drawn an animal before, let alone an anthropomorphic one.)  Would it be considered a copyright infringement to post an avatar that wasn't drawn by me if mine really ends up going badly, or should I contact the original artist first.  (Which I should probably do either way, but meh.) :)

Do you read any manga? I do, but not as much as I used to (I read it off of Mangafox more because of money restrictions) But the only manga I wait until I have money to buy is Fullmetal Alchemist. Love it that much. *pulls out another candy cigarette to eat*
