How many of ye are fans of versus fighters? Being a martial artist, naturally these are my favourite sorts of games. I couldn't tell ye how many I own (the list would take forever to compile, especially considering the fact that a number of them are still at my parents' house), but I'd put the range of owning approximately 50, with perhaps having played over 100.
It's over ONE HUNDREEEEEEEED! :vegeta:
With work and other events eating up my free time, I haven't had a lot of time to play video games in general, but the last few I have played were versus fighters:
-Soulcalibur III (PlayStation 2)
-Godzilla Unleashed (Wii)
-Arcana Heart (Playstation 2)
-TMNT Mutant Melee (PC)
What fighting games do you favour? Do you play for fun, or for competition?
-
Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive 3, and Street Fighter.
-
I really dont like fighters that much but I did try the latest dead or alive
-
Well... Smash Brothers Brawl would be considered a vs. type of game, but aside from that one, Marvel vs. Capcom and SoulCalibur (2 for GameCube and 3 for PS2) are what I like.
-
Although some don't, I personally consider Smash Bros. a versus fighter. Brawl consumed my life for the first two weeks following its release.
What does everyone think of upcoming fighters? Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, although it seemed like a dumb idea, actually seems to be shaping up to be the best of the MK fighters in years. BlazBlue might continue the tradition of over-the-top HD fighters the Guilty Gear started. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is bringing back the kickbutt action of Marvel vs. Capcom and throwing anime legends from the '70's and '80's into it. King of Fighters XII is bringing us completely new, high-definition sprites for the first time. The only game I'm not terribly excited for is Street Fighter IV. I was stoked at first, but after watching video and seeing the character lineup, I was significantly less enthused. I'll still get it if they do decide to release it on Wii like Ono keeps teasing.

Mortal Kombat vs DC universe looks pretty good. The joker's fatality is brilliant

Indeed. Since Ed Boon said there were to be at least two Fatalities/Brutalities per character, it leaves me wondering what Joker's other one is.
As a matter of fact, very few finishing moves have been revealed - only Scorpion and Joker's Fatalities, and Superman's Brutality.

((Heh. Long time no see S))
tMy favourite VS are Mortal kombet, Soul Caliber..
Not sure...but would you consider Double Dragon a VS? or even the game "Kung Fu" both for NES
-
I'd consider them "travelling versus" games since you have to fight your way through to get to a destination... but I'm not sure how the op would see them. Battletoads and some of the TMNT games were that way.
-
Those are considered "beat-'em-ups" or "brawlers", which I also love.
-
Tekken is also a good versus. So is Virtua Fighter.
-
Hmm Mortal Kombat, Street Fighters, Tekkin, Dead or Alive, Super Smash Bro's, thats a few I cant remember all of them
-
I think Virtua Fighter 5 ripped off Dead or Alive 4....
My favourite VS. Fighter is SSBB, SSB, and SSBM.
I'm always on Youtube, looking for new ways to kick someone's *mouth taped* *untaped* on Melee.
-
I love:
Marvel Versus Capcom
Dead or Alive.
All the Super Smash Brothers Series.
WWE Games.
Mortal Combat.
All the Tekkens.
and a little bit of Street Fighter.

I think once I get my digital camera in the mail (stupid back-ordered products), I'll photograph my fighting game collection.
