Title: Supposedly the Greater Good
Post by: Fyroh Ilqe Gahn on August 10, 2008, 10:39:14 PM
If you don't know me, I'm not surprised, but I'm not a newbie or anything. Here goes my attempt at starting a roleplay.

Setting:
The fair land of Burain, in the kingdom's captial city of Cerkath. It's early autumn.

Plot:
The king, a wise fox furre, was a righteous man in most peoples eyes; ruling fairly, people have agreed, over both humans and furres. There was some debate to how honestly fair he was, but all in all, he was a great ruler with a sense of justice, or at least, a greater ruler than a lot of others that could have been in his position. Unfortunately, no king, no matter how great, can live forever. He had no heir; no prince or princess, or queen, to give the throne. Upon his deathbed, he announced one of his 3 lords, the mighty Arkhe, an ex-knight human, as the new ruler of the land.

People were horrified. Arkhe was known very well for his ruthless tactics of taking care of problems; though the decision may have been wise, considering the kingdom was troubled as far as her relationships with her allies were concerned. Arkhe managed to avoid war, and all seemed well, despite some furres being given ill treatment; which sparked up the next problem.

The king was vastly biased against furres. Eventually, after too many furres were ill-treated, a resistance group was formed, consisting of both furres and humans. They wanted a new leader; that leader was one of the lords, another ex-knight, Poro, also human (there were no furre lords). Some objected; Poro might not be any better than Arkhe, but at least people knew he had no bias against furres; if anything he was in their favour, due to particular events occuring during his life involving furres.

Eventually, the resistance group grew large. They invaded the palace, and at risk of the kings life, forced him to give up the crown. Poro happily accepted the crown, and all was well again; but naturally, not for long. The people had been almost right; Poro still treated the furres unfairly, but he also treated the humans unfairly. No one was recieving fair treatment any more. Of course, resistance reared up again; but this time, there was more than one group.

There was the first group, self-named Justice. They consisted of mainly the same people as last time; they wanted the third lord, Iope, to be their new leader. He was old, and some accused him of being unintelligent, but surely he could treat the people better than Poro or Arkhe... the people hoped. However, some people said the lord wasn't fit for a position of such importance; he was too dull-witted to rule, and no good would come of it.

There was the second group, self-named Order. This consisted mainly of humans; they wanted Arkhe back in power. For one, at least the humans would get treated right, and some of the people in the group, the furres mainly, believed that if Arkhe were to be given a second chance, he would fix the errors of his ways, and rule fairly. Of course, some people, mainly furres, were skeptical of this.

And then there was the third group, Freedom. These people believed that the people in power were corrupt; who they truly needed as a leader was someone who'd been through the troubles in life, and knew about fair treatment and how to make life good for all. The man they'd elected as their leader was a furre; a fox, who liked to call himself 'the fair Kings spirit', meaning he believed the fair King resided within his body. Some people said he would be no better than the others; the power had gone to his head, it was said, and he would lose himself in a position of power.

Naturally, with 3 rising resistance groups against the king, the entire kingdom was close to a time of civil war. All of the groups hated one another. All the groups have agreed to a truce; there will be no fighting, for the sake of common people. At least, there will be no fighting within the streets of cities... though outside of the cities, the rules still apply, but few listen to them... innocent citizens are scared for their lives to leave the cities, let alone their houses. There have been reports of innocents being mercilessly killed outside their homes, being mistaken for enemies, and it's worse in the forests and on the roads...

Now, due to the nature of the roleplay, I'd like all of the players to be on the same team. Why? Because although I'd like to think that we're sensible enough to avoid instant kills in fighting and such, there WILL be issues with combat. Due to the fact that a lot of the fights are between people that absolutely detest each other in character, the chances are death WILL be involved, and people who are largely attached to their characters will probably not like the sight of their character dying. I know I don't want my characters to die. BUT, if you'd like to be able to engage in combat with others, tell me in the support thread; if I'm outnumbered on my choice, I'll allow teams to be picked, but once again, if you vote that way, you accept that you're risking your character with death. At the moment, we're all Team Justice.

RULES:
1) I'm not going to limit characters, nor am I going to tell you to colour each character's actions differently, I never liked that method. But PLEASE, make it CLEAR who does what in your post. And though there's no official limit on characters, don't have so many that we get confused. Around 3 should be enough for anyone, but if it isn't, go ahead and make more.
2) This is fantasy. Magic and stuff is certainly allowed. BUT, you have to be reasonable. If your character is a teenager, they are NOT going to be a master at whatever magical ability you grant them; same with swordplay and such. Power is allowed only within reason; specialising a character in one magical ability is fine. If your character has exceptional magic and you're reluctant to take away their abilities, give them weaknesses to balance it out; be realistic, no "if you strike me with a silver plated dagger in the palm of my hand then I will be weakened" or anything ridiculous.
3) Do NOT control other peoples characters, no matter how tiny the action is. One of the best aspects of roleplaying is not knowing what the other person will do, whether they'll co-operate or not; and if you control them, that defeats the element.
4) I'm in control of the environment and most NPCs. Of course, you can control some of them to a reasonable extent (i.e. calling the bartender over in an inn and have him take orders) but don't go overboard.
5) If I tell you to leave, I'm not being nasty (honest, I'm not), I'll have my reasons to do so. The chances are that I will give you appropriate warning before I kick you out, but again, if you're reasonable it shouldn't come to that.
6) NO flaming out of character. Naturally characters may not get on very well, but there's no need to have a go at another person for it. If you think someone's being unreasonable towards you (or someone else for that matter) in character, POLITELY ask them why.
7) More of a note than a rule, but you can be a furre or a human, I don't mind.
8) I know there's the whole human/furre rivalry that always seems to pop up no matter how you try to avoid it; but seriously, guys, don't go mental over it. Humans ARE in the resistance groups as well, fighting alongside the furres.
9) If your character has traits or weapons from other societies (i.e. Japanese katanas) at least make it realistic. For example, someone with a Japanese name who fights with a katana should probably be from Japanese origin. And, I'd just like to add, don't go mental over the Japan background, I'd like to see some variety. A lot of the people will be from Burain, seeing as this is the land we're roleplaying in. Think of Burain as a medieval England-like place.
10) I reserve the right to add more rules as we go, in case I've missed anything important. I'll probably notify you all before I do.

Use the Support thread to add your characters; and you can also vote on what group you'd like all players to belong to, if you don't like Team Justice. You can also vote whether you mind having everyone on the same team or not.

Other than that, have fun! I'll wait for people to join.

((Go ahead. I'll start, if you like.))

A horse drawn cart wheeled into town slowly, with various foods and other goods in the back. In the front, there was the driver, an old man; on either side of him were two people; a human, and a furre, both with swords. Eventually, once they reached a particular tavern, the horses stopped, and the boy and furre got off. "Thanks for the ride, Mr. Long!" Vlaardi called out, as the horses started heading towards the market again.

Fyroh looked uneasily around himself, while Vlaardi looked to the sun. "Hmm... Wasn't it sunset that they asked us to meet in the basement of this tavern? For our group?" Vlaardi asked.
"Uh huh." Fyroh nodded. "Team Justice, basement of the Lions Tail Inn. It looks like we're pretty much on time... but we can hang around for a while, I guess. How about we get something to drink? Maybe we'll see some other members inside the tavern." he said.
Vlaardi nodded. "Fine by me, but don't have too much. You know how our leader likes to stretch out the point."
"I was only planning on having water..." Fyroh hesitated.
Vlaardi raised an eyebrow. "You weren't." he said, and laughed.

The two entered the tavern, and caught a relatively empty table... which wasn't saying much, considering a lot of the tables were empty. "It's kind of sad for the people who run these inns and such. What with all the fighting amongst groups, it's hard for shops to get business..." Fyroh said to himself, and sighed, staring into space.
"Well, at least they get Justice members here, and a lot of them." Vlaardi replied. "But you're right, it's pretty empty in here..."

The place seemed barren, but there was negative energy around her, she knew for sure. Keeping a sharp eye, Rigor noticed one wolf furre and one human entering the tavern and couldn't help but overhear their conversation. It wasn't sad that people were feuding; they always did.. There was no changing that. The group Justice was up for electing an old timer; and he would die just like the fox did. Peace would be only a temporary option. She smiled, laughing, as she adjusted her tattered black cloak and stood, hanging her Scythe over her shoulder and making her way to the pair.

It was a bright sunny day within the city as he sat upon a high ledge overlooking the market place. Humans and furs rushed about their daily lives buying and selling the latest wares. Here and there he caught sight of snickering and in other places sneering. There was a palpable tension in the air and he could feel it. He smiled and jumped down to ground level and began making his way down the street. The conditions where ideal for one of his profession. Humans brushed against him as they past by giving no heed to his presance, and while this might upset anybody else its was fruitful for his needs.

"Ignorance!" he thought to himself whilst peering from under his hood, his sharp eyes taking in all the details as he surveyed his surroundings. "All a bunch of fools. Despite their very lives in the balance of a few men they scurry about in their pointless lives. Luckily today I'll get to put an end to one of them" His lips curled into a devlish smile at the thought showing razor sharp teeth. He had a mission pure and simple, to assassinate aparticular fur speaking out against the ruler his faction was trying to get into power.

He stood out amongst the crowd despite his efforts to conceal himself in rag. A fairly tall raptor with a blade strung across his back there were no other of his kind in the entirety of the city. Few were foolish enough to get in his way but it wouldn't matter if they had. It was not wise for a assassin to kill everybody because of petty squables, it would attract to much attention. He continued down the streets till almost ritualistic propoganda filled his ears being shouted by a fox with some ferver. The target was in the open he couldn't attack without alerting the guards so he waited calmly, watching on as if he was a simple bystander to the fox's cause.

The fox was ordinary, not of particular renown or bearing the mark of a seasoned warrior. He was little more then a citizen in a opposing faction trying to recruit more to serve the cause. That however was about to end soon.

she perched on her brick wall looking out towards the busy town. with a heavy sigh she jumped of and started walking into town for some much needed groceries. keeping her head down as her brother had told her she only had eyes for decent prices. After awhile she decided that she desrved a treat, so walking into the tavern she brought a cool lemonade drink and sat down by the window to watch the people outside

Archaic and Shadow found the town pretty much as they had expected. Bustling on the surface, but with something sinister underneath the guise of normality. Of course, Shadow was a bit weary of the boys intuition at this point. He was, after all, occasionally wrong. "It seems safe enough here." "Perhaps... Let us see if we can find a lodging." The two head for a tavern, the felines black cloak flowing and the coyotes light chain mail vest clinking beneath his jacket.

Vlaardi looked into the window behind himself, seeing the busy lives of folk about. "And sadly, by nightfall, not a soul will be on the streets... it's too dangerous..."
"Unless you have a weapon." Fyroh responded. "If you can defend yourself against others, it's fine..."
Vlaardi sighed. "True, but why would you attack someone on the other team? Because they had a weapon, no doubt..."
Fyroh groaned. "Now you're just being difficult. "

Vlaardi continued to stare out of the window absent mindedly, while Fyroh began drumming his fingers on the table, considering the amount of time he had left, and if there was enough to have something to eat. The pair almost didn't notice Rigor approach them; Fyroh looked up just as she came closer, and grinned. "Alright, there?" he said, which made Vlaardi jump. The two looked over the newcomer for a moment, before Fyroh said, "Take a seat with us if you like, we were considering ordering just now."
Vlaardi looked suspiciously at the newcomer for a few moments, before giving Fyroh a dull look. "I wasn't ordering anything except water, but what you going to have, a three course meal?" he said sarcastically.
Fyroh ignored him completely.

Night was falling upon the city, the moon's glow caressing the town softly. Most of the streets had cleared and the fox's banter of religeous like propoganda concerning his choice of lord had come to an end. The fox made his way down the street torwards an inn. The raptor assassin followed carefully, the only light shining given from the various windows of the streets many houses and taverns. He couldn't allow the fox to enter the tavern he might loose his chance to kill him. His pace quickened dodging the drunk pedestrians as they milled about the streets.

The fox stopped for a second before entering the tavern door and fumbled through his pack as if looking for something, this proved to be fruitful for the raptor as it gave him the perfect chance. He ran up to the fox quick as lightning and grabbed him, spinning the frightened speaker to face him before quickly slashing as his throat with his sharp claws. The fox grasped his throat and gasped for air. "Let thiss be a lesson for they who seek to fallow in your footstepss" he Raptor said as he kicked the fox in the door. Before he slunk into a side alley he tossed a small token, a signature of his he place on his kills, on the fox.

There in the alley he watched, keeping careful attention to the various scents of the area to make sure he wasnt followed.

A young furre slipped into Lions' Tail Inn, glanced around at the few patrons and sat at the table with Fyroh and Vlaardi. Her emerald eyes glowed softly as her midnight fur gave off a gentle shine from the light of the fire. She put her paws on the table, sighing as she watched the human and furre interact, smirking to herself.

"Ah.." Rigor said, exhaling and taking a seat. Carefully, she slipped her scythe onto the back of her chair. "I've been waiting to order, but it seems as if I'm a little... Intimidating in appearance." She jerked her head in the direction of the barkeep. "So what business brings you here to this particular tavern?" She smiled a toothy grin, revealing her purple gums and stitched sides of her mouth.

The duo found a seat in the tavern, Arke momentarily fascinated by a dragon that stood out for some very obvious reasons. "Not polite to stare, boy." Shadow elbowed him in the ribe to drive the point home, and they sat down with no further incident. "Try to stay anonymous, at least until I can get a feel for this place. There could be danger here, more than you are aware of and guised as something benign." Shadows voice was low as he leaned forward on the table, the flickering candle in the center illuminating his face. "This place may be a haven to those who would oppose the Fair Kings return, and we would do good to stay out of such squabbles for a time. You have much training ahead of you."

The coyote nods, entirely enthralled by the wizards words. They had a sort of power to them, something that made you listen. "Of course." Shadow smiles, and Arke returns the gesture. "Good. We shall tour the area by night, providing we can find a guide, and get the lay of the land." "Why at night?" The wizards smile turned to an almost evil grin. "What fool would be caught out after sunset?"

Fyroh nodded to the other furre who had joined them at the table, to show he'd noticed her, before turning back to Rigor. "Well, we'll all be served after a while, I suppose. I know some of the waitresses and such, I'm a regular here, you see, which is why I'm here tonight. My favourite tavern, you could say." he replied. "Depending on how much time I leave myself, I might end up getting a room 'ere tonight. Young Vlaardi 'ere, he's from this city and he has his own place; but not me. You often let me stay around, don't ya, Vlaardi?" Fyroh said, nudging his friend.

Vlaardi wasn't listening to Fyroh. He was silently eavesdropping on Arke and Shadow; making sure not to look at them as to give the point away, but keeping an ear out for their conversation. "The fair Kings return..." he thought, replaying the conversation in his head. They were probably Freedom members... or perhaps Order, but that was unlikely. Perhaps they were spies?... Either way, it was pointless questioning them. A fight was the last thing he wanted; the truce was there for a reason, to stop the mindless killing... perhaps he should get to know them a little better... they needed a guide, perhaps he could-

"Vlaardi? You there?" Fyroh nudged Vlaardi again; which made Vlaardi jump.
"Ugh, what do you want?" Vlaardi sighed. He'd lost track of what the others were saying now.
Fyroh looked at Vlaardi questioningly, before shaking his head. "... Nevermind. What are your names, anyway?" he asked the two who'd joined him at the table. "Just so you know, I'm Fyroh, and that's Vlaardi, as you probably know by now."
Vlaardi nodded; it looked almost like a bow, rather than a nod.

The assassin slipped through the city in the night unnoticed for his deeds earlier. He smiled to himself having accomplished his goal. "This is getting to be quite lucrative." he said softly to himself patting his coin purse. He sighed when he realized he had forgotten to clean his claw of blood. A bird landed on a ledge above and looked at him as if baring witness to a murderer. The reptile paid little attention and made his way into the streets, making his way torwards the local inn. There he knew no judgement would be passed and neutrality was the native language.

He barged in the front door and made his way to the counter, eyeing those at the table as he passed. Only the keeper gave him any sign of interest as most were accustomed to his sight. The various patrons milling about the room acted as if nothing was out of the ordinary as he rested his bloodied claw upon the counter. "I need a room, no questions asked and no interuptions" he said in a cold tone as he poured out a few coins on the table. "A fare offering indeed as opposed to the cost of betrayal" He made no effort to conceal what his threat meant. The keeper only nodded and handed over a key.

The raptor broke a small smile, he had known the inn keeper for a long time. The idle threats were more of a long running joke between the two then anything but they also served to warn listeners from prying into his business. Before heading up the stairs, he gave a glance at a scythe laying against a chair where several sat and socialized. He was always weary of armed travelers, a once idle person could become a threat at anytime. He noted their scents and appearances and made his way up to his room.

The panther nodded back, watching the dragon with her head tilted slightly. "I'm Nikkoli. I hope I'm not interrupting anything or intruding on you?" She asked, her tail twitching as she continued to watch the dragon.

"I'm Rigor Mortis, but you can call me Rigor for short." She returned the glance back to the panther out of the corner of her eye, but assumed that the panther couldn't tell due to her lack of pupils. For a brief moment, she was able to smell the metallic scent of blood mixed with dry leaves drifting through the air.. But then it vanished upstairs along with the presence that had brought it. She smiled, knowing chaos was about to ensue on the streets as darkness crept its way though Cerkath. It was no secret what happened to the ones that went out after dark. The streets were dark now, occasionally lit with an old candle in a glass box upon a post; it was the perfect time to leave.. But she would wait.  "Ah, you know all this waiting has actually left me with no appetite at all." She leaned forward onto the table, propping her head onto her three fingered hand as if she were bored. "Terrible service, I do say. Afraid to take orders from those who make this world diverse in nature."

The inn food was bland but substantial, and the price was right. Shadow paid, a pair of silvers, and gazed out into the seat as the boy finished his meal. "Shouldn't we at least rent a room before we leave?" "No, it is wiser if we tour the town first. If we find the climate too hostile we can always spend another night in the woods." Giving Arke absolutely no warning the feline rises and moves to the table behind him, standing between the human and the wolf, his eyes falling on their table mates briefly. "I hate to seem rude but I was wondering; my companion Archaic and I are new to this town, and I wondered if one of you might be so kind as to show us around. I would be more than willing to pay you for your troubles."

As Shadow spoke, the coyote watched a rather imposing raptor ascend the stairway to the private rooms. The scent of blood trailed him, faint but unmistakable. He smells of death...[/i] When the raptors eyes fell on him Archaic recoiled slightly, and a faint chill ran up his spine. One paw sought the reassuring grip of his bow but he fought the urge to make himself a threat. That man is dangerous...[/i]

Rigor stood at the cat's request, bowing almost sarcastically. "I believe I can give a proper tour." She smiled revealing her jagged teeth, looking back to her table mates almost sadly. "That is unless me leaving would simply rip their hearts to pieces.. But I'm sure I'm not of that much interest. You might be doing the Barkeep a favor by getting me out of here by the way things look." This was her chance to leave, possibly get two victims in for the fun of it.. To scare people even more about the shaky peace they experienced already. "I'll do it free of charge.. Say a charity for a person in need." She clasped her claws together and brought them to her chest as if imitating an innocent scout.

The panther watched the dragon more and jumped up from the table. "I'd like to go as well, if that's alright with Rigor?" Her pretty green eyes glittered with interest as she smelled a weird scent coming  from the dragon.

"Nikkoli and Rigor." Fyroh replied almost thoughtfully. "Do forgive me if I have to ask you again; I'm awful with names you see." he said, grinning a little. "I wouldn't remember Vlaardi's name if it weren't for the fact he's like my shadow."
Vlaardi looked unimpressed; but suddenly froze stiff as soon as he heard the voices behind him. He remained stiff all the way through the talking.
Fyroh gave a loose smile, and turned to face the others. "I might join you as well... after all, I'm not that hungry or anything." He stood up, straightened his clothes, then gave Vlaardi a fake punch on the arm. "Come on, mate, you coming with us?"
Vlaardi looked over the 'crew'. It looked dangerous. After all, he had no idea who was on what team... Fyroh was going, so they'd be safe, but...

"I- I'd rather stay here." Vlaardi replied, keeping his eyes firm. "Fyroh, what about the meeting? Have you forgotten about that?" Vlaardi wasn't referring to the Justice meeting by name on purpose; if these people were enemies, then who knew what could happen... Ignorance is bliss, Vlaardi told himself.
"Oh, boo to that." Fyroh snapped back. "It's only with a couple of old friends, and besides, we do it all the time. Tell 'em I can't make it." Fyroh knew exactly what Vlaardi was talking about; he too was disguising it. "Come on, come with us."
Vlaardi shook his head. "I'm staying. At least I can let them know you're not coming."
"Suit yourself..." Fyroh sighed, turning to the others. "Sorry, he's always like this, never wants to try anything new. Very shy. I hope you don't mind me tagging along, anyway..."

Vlaardi gave one final look to all of them before turning away. None of them looked particularly trustworthy... in fact, if he didn't know Fyroh, he wouldn't even trust him. However, Vlaardi had a small part of himself that was beginning to regret saying no. He didn't want to go for adventure or excitement... the only reason he'd want to go was to make sure Fyroh wouldn't do anything stupid. Fyroh was always acting without thinking, and he could make a grave error, going out at night with, what, four complete strangers...

Shadow laughs, giving a quick glance over his shoulder. "Well I would hate for him to be all alone here, so I think I'll leave Archaic here." The coyote briefly looked up at the human. He must be around my age. "Let the boys get to know each other, maybe make a friend. Gods know friends are hard to come by of late. Besides, it could be dangerous outside, at night. Best to keep the young ones safe." His eyes run over the three standing before him, and a smile graces his muzzle. "Although I doubt that will turn out to be a problem."

Archaic sat facing Shadow and the strangers, debating whether or not he wanted to go. Likely Shadow had a plan of some sort, but it was hard to tell with him. Maybe he really did want him to make a friend, as out of character as that seemed for him. And as long as the raptor upstairs did not cause any trouble it would likely be safe here, seeing as the human looked about as threatening as... well, not very threatening. [color=teal"Shadow, I-"[/color] The feline turned to him, scowling. "Come now, Archaic, you don't expect me to let our new friend... Vlaardi, is it? Well, I won't be so ungracious as to take away his company and leave him all alone."

Vlaardi quickly glanced back to the group, listening in on the conversation. So, someone was being left here...? That was strange. He quickly observed the one that was to be left behind... didn't look too intimidating, at the least, but... "There's no need." Vlaardi said. "Honestly. I'm fine, I'm meeting some others later. Besides, if you're new, you should get a look around the city... with a group, you'll be fine."
Fyroh laughed. "Ah, Vlaardi, always the modest one, eh? Well, ultimately it's up to this fella..." Fyroh paused, briefly motioning at Archaic, "... but I'm sure Vlaardi wouldn't mind either way." Fyroh chuckled. "Well, whatever's fine, as long as we can get a move on. Oh, has anyone got a light or something? We might need one..."

Vlaardi quickly said, "Fyroh, I'll need the money you're looking after for me."
Fyroh almost laughed. "What sparked you to say that?... here, take it." He pulled out a leather pouch from inside his shirt, handing it over to Vlaardi, who sat down again, checking how much he had. "Got enough?" Fyroh asked. Vlaardi nodded, placing the pouch on the table, where he'd be able to see it.

The raptor assassin made his way upstairs to his room. The air was ripe with the stench of intimacy which came to no suprise given the nature of such places. Before he could make it to his room he was intercepted by a wolven escort. "How about spending some time with me tonight?" she asked in a very in your face manner. "I've never been with a raptor before it could be fun" He sneered at her and raised his bloody claw to her face but it didnt seem to ward her off. Instead she took a more imposing positon and kept stepping in front of the taller raptor as he tried to step past. "Cmon you know you want to have some fun" she tried to smile. He was growing really irritated, though she wasn't that homely by any means he didnt want anybody to get too keen a memory of what he looked like. "Out of the way wench, before I add your blood to his." he said again trying to avoid a confrontation by stepping around her.

Laughter, conversation and less savory noises echoed the halls but none paid any heed to their commotion. She was quite angry at this point and he had reached his limit. "Ok you obviously won't take no for an answer so instead I accept your offer" he said bareing a devilish smile. He opened the door for her and followed suit, quietly unsheathing his blade behind his back and closing the door behind him. In the next few moments all that could be heard was a cutoff scream and a thump on the floor. He reached down and closed her eyes and muttered a prayer under his breath in the raptor tongue. "I really didnt want this to happen but I cannot risk unwanted attention"

He quickly washed his claws off and rushed back down to the entrance, peace and rest it would seem would have to find this raptor another time.

Shadow turns one palm up, conjuring a small flame and letting it burn for a moment. "I think that should suffice for a light. And besides, I can show him the town tomorrow morning, just the two of us." He smiles back at the coyote, placing a paw on his shoulder. Archaic gave the human a nervous smile. "Not to mention he would probably be bored to tears just following us around." "He said he'll be fine, maybe I should come with you, you know, to-" "To what? You honestly want to get stuck touring the town like these ladies?" He smiled slightly, but Archaics attention was elsewhere.

He was watching that raptor. The scent of blood he had picked up on before seemed stronger now, and it did seem odd that he was leaving so soon after renting a room. And in a rush. "Actually, I think I will stay..." Shadow laughed, not looking at the raptor but aware none the less. A threat perhaps, but not to us. Not at the moment. "Ahh, then it is settled. We shall see what this town has to offer, and you shall see to it that our new friend is not as bored as these two will be." The feline gestures to the girls at the table, smiling pleasantly.

"Ah, a night on the town with friends, oh goody." The dragoness stated disguising her complete disgust for the situation. Grabbing her scythe, she hung it on her back and drifted to the door, looking back to the others to see if they were coming.. Making her completely oblivious to the raptor in which she slammed into. She tumbled onto the ground, taking him down with her, snatching blindly to unsuccessfully prevent her fall.  She smelt blood on him, very faint, but it was there.. And noticed a fresh spatter on his cloak.

He pulled himself up quickly, unsure if he was under attack or not. He turned quickly and pulled out his blade, noticing the other was still on the ground. The room had grown quiet, as if expecting some kind of showdown but that was the last thing the raptor needed. The night had been spiralling out of control he certainly didnt need a public scene adding to it. He withdrew his weapon but didnt sheath it, noticing she was armed as well. "Foolissh creature watch where your going" he snarled baring his teeth in fustration. It seemed he would find no peace at all. Her companions seem fixated on the blood he bore on his cloth.

"There needs to be no confrontation, I already have enough blood on my hands for one night." He eyed the reptile on the floor, paying no heed to the rest. None of them seemed to bear the mark of those heavily associated in any of the factions vying for power but she seemed different then the rest. He shrugged off his thoughts and backed torwards the exit while pulling a strange orb from his pocket. As he reached the exit he smiled. "If you value your lives do not attempt to follow" with that subtle remark he threw it down creating a blinding light. Upon the dissipation of the light he was long gone, leaving the room dazed and confused.

He ducked into a alley several blocks over. "That was close. You got careless Tezztor you were lucky none of them tried to attack. Though none of them seemed particularly interested." he said huffing. He pulled out his coin purse and realized it had a hole in it and most of his earnings were gone. "Blasted dragon, her scythe musta grazed it on the way down. Looks like I'll need to go get my money back"

Something shiny caught her eye on the floor. It was a coin. She smiled, still sitting on the floor and picked it up between two of her claws, and allowed the coin to flip over her thumb and between her fingers of her opposite hand. "For a dramatic exit, you sure left a trail of bread crumbs.." She said to herself, pocketing the coin just in case the raptor returned for it. Rigor stood up, dusting herself off, then eyeing the others to make sure their attention was still on the door. "I seem to be attracting chaos today.." She turned to the door, not quite wanting to admit to herself that her curiosity was sparked to the point of following the stranger to see what he was up to instead of following through with a plan that had been ruined in the first place. I'll just let the wolf take the lead and trail near the back.. And when the time is right disappear... she thought, looking to the wolf. "Oh Fyroh, I just remembered.. I don't exactly know this town at all; I was just trying to be nice and at least escort these gentlemen  through Cerkath in case there was an.. Attack on them.. While they explored. Would you care to take the lead so they can at least know where they are..?"

Fyroh had paid little attentiont to the raptor that had passed by, but jumped a little when there was a flash. "What the..." he muttered, but trailed off. When he was asked to take the lead, he grinned a little. "Sure I will. I know the town very well, I must say..."
"Oh, you've got to be kidding, Fyroh's in charge?" Vlaardi moaned aloud. "Right, I'm sorry, but I just have to give you all a warning; he's a fool in a group. He's got armour and weapons, but he'll run head first into anything which seems remotely dangerous. Just watch yourselves, and watch him. And-"
"Vlaardi!" Fyroh growled.
Vlaardi gave him another dull look. "It's for their safety, Fyroh. Oh, and I know it's tempting, but please, none of you attack the kings men. Some of us are interested in sleeping tonight."
Fyroh sighed. "Yeah, he's right about that one. The guards are always in twos; they often let you past if you hide your weapons, but sometimes you get interrogated, whether or not you look like a threat. Some of them are better than others... some just want to keep the peace, some want to fine you as much as they can to make an extra buck for themselves. If you attack one, well, they both make a LOT of noise; attracts all the other guards to you, and then every building in sight gets searched until they find you."
"Luckily we've never been through having to hide from them," Vlaardi muttered, "But Fyroh almost did once. So please, just be careful. Despite his idiotic tendencies, I'd like to see Fyroh again in one piece after tonight."

Fyroh nodded. "Alright, we're set then..."
"Wait." Vlaardi sighed. "I know I'm acting like a mother, but be wary of anyone you don't know in the streets. Keep your weapons handy, but don't draw them; drawing them indicates you're going to attack, then a fight will ensue. Not many people will attack you, I don't think, but the worst will be resistance members, and I can't say any of them are better than the others."
Fyroh didn't look like he entirely agreed, but said, "Vlaardi always acts like this, sorry. He always says that if you get attacked, find a guard, as they can deal with it and get the troublemaker off the streets, but it's easier to battle some of them off, I think. They're only armed with puny weapons like knives, and all they want is for you to support their cause and not yours. If you bite back at them, they often run away, I find... Alright, we've stayed long enough. We ready to depart, then?" Fyroh said, looking over the rest of them.

Shadow smiles at the human boy. "I'm sure we will have little cause for trouble. I don't plan to-" He stopped, turning to the girl and hearing her out before turning back to Fyroh. "Your choice."

Back at his table Archaic was idly poking his empty plate with his fork, sighing softly. It was true he didn't want to go with Shadow, but he did not feel like being left with a stranger either. True, he hardly seemed the harmful type, but at his heart Archaic was always a bit paranoid with strangers. He hardly even noticed the girl, despite her shouting.

Fyroh looked over the girl, before saying, "I don't see why not. Sure, come along, but we'll be going back to the inn after we're finished on the 'tour', so if you're planning to stay away from here, we might need to drop you off somewhere." He smirked a little to himself. "Right, well, grab your things, I'll take us around, meet you outside." With that, Fyroh opened the door of the tavern and stepped out into the night. There was still a little light on the horizon, but the sun was no longer visible. Fyroh didn't seem to care one bit, though. His face was lit up, and a grin was clearly shining out of his mouth, as if he were a little kid going to a playpark.

Vlaardi sighed. "Don't let him die, please." he muttered. "Keep the fool out of trouble." With that, he rose out of his seat, and walked over to the bar. He had a quiet talk with the bartender, who then produced two glasses, pouring a thinly tinted purple liquid into each, topping them up with a little water. Vlaardi gave the bartender two small coins, before returning, and sitting at the same table as Archaic, pushing one of the glasses to him. "Have a sip of that." he said. "Doesn't look appetising, but it's good. Barkeep makes it himself, won't get the same anywhere else. Very fresh taste to it, tastes warm going down your throat, leaves your breath feeling fresh, too. Might take a while to get used to it." He took a small sip, before continuing, "Only have a little bit per sip, though. Quite strong if you have too much of it in one... You've eaten, haven't you? I'll order myself something later, if you're still hungry I'll order yours with it." Vlaardi gave Archaic a quick smile before taking another sip of his drink.

Rigor stepped outside along with Fyroh, surveying her surroundings and allowing her eyes to adjust. They seemed to be a luminescent yellow, almost glowing on their own. "I'll take the back of the group to prevent any attacks from behind. You never really know around here at night. I travel enough at night to know." She spotted another coin on the ground, and swiped it with her tail, careful to keep it out of view and pocket it fast. She wondered how the raptor's coins managed to escape him with the attitude he had..

The raptor steamed with anger, pacing back and forth in a alley near the inn. "How could I be so careless, to let me earnings slip away." he furiated to himself. "I got to get the gold back, otherwise I killed for nothing" With that he raced back down the alley torward the inn, stopping before he got to the street. There were voices outside, ones he had heard previously. He slipped into a shadow, listening and watching to gain insight on their actions. he noticed some of his coins on the ground near the alleyway. "My gold!" he thought before climbing up the side of the building, using his powerful legs to boost him up where he looked down upon them.

The streets were mostly desolate save for a few night owl furs hitting the pubs. The few below him seemed aweful uncoordinated to be part of any movement or effort. At most they seem like any others out on the town. He looked each of them over, getting a good look in case he needed to remember them later. One was the dragon with the scythe, she seemed to be distant from the others and more weary of what the night holds. "Smart one" he said before noticing her picking up another coin with her tail. He shook his fist in fustration. "Why does it always have to come to thiss?" he fumed. He couldn't make a move in front of such a central place like a inn, he'd have to be crafty.

A rustle made Rigor's eye draw to an empty spot in the dark near the inn. She was aware of her surroundings, and could smell a familiar scent in the air.. It was the raptor again. But the rustling was not him. He seemed too trained for such a thing. A small rodent scurried into the light and tilted its head quizzically before continuing its run across the path and into a crack in the wall of the inn. Foolish thing. At least it was smart enough not to be out at night. She played with one of the two coins in her pocket and grinned, knowing the raptor had to be watching.. Knowing he had to believe she was picking them up out of greed. It was something to do while she waited for the others.

Fyroh unsheathed his sword, spinning it idly in his hands. Though his senses were keen, he hadn't noticed any particular signs of danger yet. Slowly, he brought himself through the motions of attacking an enemy, bringing his sword through midair, using both hands, then one hand, then the other, just to keep himself occupied. Eventually, he unhooked his shield from his back, and held that in his left hand, then sheathed his sword. "What's taking the others so long?" he muttered, adjusting his chainmail beneath his clothes and his shield. He didn't look at Rigor. He had no need. Nor did he look for any immediate danger. He was in front of an inn, and Vlaardi was just inside, he'd be fine. Once they were off, perhaps.

Shadow follows the others outside, producing a fireball in one paw that burned as well as any lamp. "So, shall we begin?" He took note of Fyrohs weapons, should worse come to worse. Things seemed placid enough, but the light of the inn falling on them through the windows seemed to mark an area of safety. In the darkness beyond, things would be less comfortable.

Archaic smiled at the human, taking the glass with some trepidation. It certainly did not look appetizing, and its scent was strong indeed, making him regret taking such a deep whiff. But it did feel warm going down, and the taste was hardly unpleasant in the small sip the coyote took. "Thank you. And don't worry, Shadow always orders me more than I can eat anyway." He paused for a second sip, drawing it out but not drinking too much. "So, why are you here? Something about a meeting, right?" Archaic takes a third sip and smiles. "This is pretty good, by the way."

Fyroh grinned. "Of course." he replied. "I'll stay in the lead, but seriously, don't attack anyone, especially not guards, just let me talk to them. At worst, draw your weapons if a threat appears, normally they go." With that, he started leading the group across a street, then turned off onto a larger one. "Market's just ahead. A few shops here and such, nothing of major interest. Don't speak out against Justice around these parts, as most Justice members are around here..."
"Halt!" someone shouted; a man emerged from the shadows, clad in plated armour, holding a spear. Another guard, a furre, came out of the shadows to join him. "What business do you have at night?"
Fyroh looked over the men. "Good evening." he replied. "My friends here, they're new to the city. I'm showing them around where they need to go, as I won't be there to do it tomorrow."
The man nodded. "Hmm... Alright, I suppose that's fair enough... Well, I won't ask you too many questio-"
"Hold it! Have you not noticed he's armed to the teeth?! He could be a rebel against his majesty, the King!!" the other guard practically spat.
The first guard gulped. "I-I suppose... but surely if they were rebels, they would have-"
"You! Extinguish the flame!" the furry guard shouted to Shadow.
Fyroh quickly stepped forwards. "Now, now, don't get hasty, we're just using that as a light for us to see-"
"I'm sorry, but we can't risk it. You know the dangers of the night, surely... Let us see all your weapons, and I'll decide if you can go past or not." the man said
Fyroh looked curiously at the guard. "All my weapons are for self-defence purposes only, I assure you-"
The furry guard aimed his spear at Fyroh. "You heard the man! All your weapons, on the floor, now!"
Fyroh groaned. "Alright, we have no choice, then." With that, he set down his shield and sword, motioning to the rest of them to do the same.

Vlaardi took another sip. "You sure about that? Fair enough." he replied, looking over his shoulder at the barkeeper, making a little signal with his hands. The barkeeper nodded, seemingly understanding it. "Maaaaaaary!!" the barkeeper shouted.
Smirking a little, Vlaardi looked back to Archaic. "Yeah. A meeting with some friends, but I don't think they're coming now. Perhaps one of us got the date or time wrong." In all honesty, Vlaardi didn't know if the meeting was going on or not. He hadn't seen any Justice members go through the inn to the basement, but perhaps they had been there by the time they'd arrived? And how could he cover it up? The meeting, if it was still going on, would head on into the night, and if Archaic wasn't a Justice member, there was no means of inviting him down there, too. Besides, the meetings were never compulsory, and he, being younger than a lot of the members, was often allowed to sit out of them, despite the 'leader' of this section of Justice was particularly fond of Vlaardi, because of Vlaardi's father. "Oh well, it doesn't matter. We haven't seen each other for a while, and maybe that's the way it's going to stay for now." With that, he took another sip of his drink.
Just then, a bright, cheery looking fox furre girl came out of a door, from the kitchen, approaching their table. "Oh, Vlaardi!" she said. "What're you having today?"
Vlaardi smiled. "Hello, Mary- err, do you have any soups or stews?"
Mary nodded. "We have, ermm... Vegetable, uhh... and herb soups, today, I think... and..."
"Any meat stews?" Vlaardi said.
"Umm... Yeah, we can prepare that, but we also have steak and stuff for meals and, yeah." Mary replied, thinking as she spoke.
"Alright, I'll just take a steak and some herbs." Vlaardi replied, trying not to laugh.
"Okay!! And your friend?" she asked.
"He said he wasn't hungry."
"Okay, then, I'll get your order done!!" replied happily, and practically bounced back into the kitchen.
Vlaardi shook his head. "She's a complete airhead. Funny, but not always there, know what I mean? If she served you, you probably were lucky if you got the right order." He took another sip of his drink, before asking, "So what're you doing here, anyway? There's gotta be a reason for you to come to the city in such dark times..."

Rigor followed behind the others, almost trailing off, picking up coins if she saw any until the group was interrupted by a pair of guards. Instinctively, her hand moved to her scythe and unsheathed it. She would usually listen to Fyroh's advice about not attacking.. But it was too tempting not to with their attitudes. Her scales rippled, making her completely black.. And with the darkness as her cloak, she found her way behind the guards... Her yellow eyes the only thing giving her away to the group.

Fyroh took off his dagger, and laid it down with the rest of his weaponry, looking behind him to check if the others were doing the same... wait, the group looked a little smaller- Rigor wasn't there!
"Alright, now kneel down!!" the furry guard barked.
The human shook his head. "That's unnecessary. We just need to see what weaponry they have, we're not taking them prisoner."
The furry growled. "Are you insane? They're obviously-"
"That's enough. We may be partners, but I'm still your superior." the human replied. "I'm the boss of this duo, and if I say they don't kneel down, they don't." the human replied, frowning.
While Fyroh was watching this conversation, he noticed something behind them... Resisting his urges to shout, 'Look out!!' he quickly tried to work out what it was... the yellow eyes... It quickly occured to him that Rigor was there. Trying not to give her away to the guards, he quickly shook his head to her with a panicked expression, trying to signal to her not to do it.

The raptor quietly leaped from rooftop to rooftop, trailing them as they went keeping careful care not to silhuette(sp?) against the moon. He stopped as they were intercepted by the guards. The guards bore insignias akin to his "employer's" rivals. "I could fetch a tidy sum for dispatching rival troops, but perhaps I should let them disarm my friends, make it easier for me" he smiled watching onward. They had actually laid down and given up their weapons, something he hadn't expected but fruitful none the less. The markets were dead save for this one incident and now was the perfect time to seize the moment. He turned to jump down in the back alley out of sight when he noticed the dragon with the scythe, he smiled.

He leaped down gracefully from the rooftop to a shed and finally to the ground and quietly he made his way up behind the dragon. The assassin was a veteran of many encounters, he knew better then to assume she didnt know he was there. After all she was a dragon, one of the few races with better sense of smell then his. He kept his dagger ready to parry her massive scythe. "Don't make this any harder then it has to be, I just want my money" he thought quietly as he reached for the pack where she kept the cash.

Rigor quickly averted her hand from her scythe to whoever was behind her catching him by the hand without even turning her eyes to look. She sensed them there when they had landed, but she was so concentrated on ridding herself of the two guards, she didn't bother identifying the sneak. Without hesitation, she used her tail to break the furred guard's neck and her other hand to slice the human's neck at his jugular with her scythe. They both dropped to the ground immediately and surprisingly without a struggle.. She then whipped her scythe around to attack the other that was behind her, allowing her scales to ripple to their normal colors.

Fyroh cringed as he watched the two guards drop like flies. "No, no, NOO!!" he cried out, practically gasping; as the human crashed to the ground, there was a hollow clunk in his clothes... but nothing happened. Fyroh sighed with relief. "You're so lucky he landed like that." he sighed. "Don't do that again, please... If he landed a mere inch differently, it would have broken the little 'security' thing they have, which emits a loud wailing sound, and alerts ALL of the other guards to get here." He wiped a little sweat off his forehead. "Most people can't escape from that. You have guards coming from ALL directions. Very organised. I don't care how nimble and stealthy you all are, you wouldn't escape. Some of those guards are pretty much on the same levels as assassins, the way they can hide in the shadows out of sight, you saw how those two guards were out of view... I suspect they weren't the best, though..." So lost in his talking, Fyroh hadn't noticed Rigor paying attention to something else.

The raptor dodged her scythe attack and rolled forward cutting her coin purse and snatching it away at the same time. "Thiss doesn't have to get ugly, I just came for what is mine" he said giving her an odd look. he backed away from her, also keeping tabs on her comrades in case they tried to attack. Everything had gotten out of control but the way he saw it, eye for an eye. Her scythe got his money the first time and now he had hers. The guard writhed around on the ground, dying from the cut across his neck. The raptor smiled at her handywork, in another circumstance she might of made a good assassin. But now was the time for admiration.

"I appreciate you killing the guards, saves me the trouble. Make no mistake though that if you get in my way I will do the same to you. I merely and earning a living" he said causiously looking around for an escape route. Only the back alley, the street itself and jumping up to the rooftops were an option. He gauged them carefully, his claw out with his dagger in a parry fashion. He had no way of knowing his fast she was, so the street wasnt an option and she blocked the route to the alleyway. He pondered, could she match his jumping ability

Rigor whipped her scythe behind her head and sheathed it, cramming her hand into her cloak and jingling the loose coins that were within her pocket. "If you've come for what's yours, why is it in my pocket?" She asked almost laughing. She seemed as if she had a few screws loose, laughing about having his coins despite the fact that there were more in her coin purse than in her pocket.. But she didn't care. She had not taken his money out of greed so much as she had out of wanting to lure him.. And the mere fact that it worked is what fueled her. She just hoped that the fact that he technically hadn't succeeded would get under his skin. She pulled a coin out and played with it in her hand as she watched the raptor turn away, anticipating where he might go or what he might do.

He bared his teeth in anger and fustration. "My gold! Dirty wench hand it over or your friends will die" he exclaimed picking up the sword and aiming it at the head of the one it formerly belonged to. he didnt like to be in this position but he had earned the gold, and he meant to get it back. He shifted on his two legs back and forth, waiting for an opening. The fact she enjoyed his misery only infuriated him, but he tried to keep his calm. Despite the commotion no citizens had happened across the event, which worked to their advantage.

He spun his dagger in one hand while holding the point of the sword to Fyroh's head. "Give it up, I don't want to kill anymore people if I dont have to. No money in it"

"By the King!" Shadow blurted, hoping that in the paniced moments of the guards dropping no one noticed. It was, after all, a force of habit. "Why in the bloody depths of hell would you..." His anger ceased when he saw the raptor, and the blades in his hands. "Well... This fell apart in a hurry..." The ball of fire kept the scene illuminated, the light gleaming off the blades. "Let's not do anything we'll regret..." He turns to Fyroh, and then to Rigor. "ANY of us..."

Back at the inn, Archaic gave the fox girl a smile as she left. "Oh, one of Shadows 'political rallies' or something like that. He's always dragging me somewhere." And it was true, Shadow was bound for a Freedom rally on the outskirts of town meant for tommorrow night. "Just a bunch of fanatics shouting about the King if you ask me. I can't see how they hope to accomplish anything, but Shadow goes anyway. And he's always got to drag me along, for some reason." Archaic sighs and takes another sip of his drink. Fyroh gasped as soon as he saw his own blade being pointed at him, but quickly regained himself. "You've put yourself in one bad situation, my friend..." he muttered, looking to the corpse of the human guard. "I have three ways, off the top of my head on how to get out of this. Number one, Rigor can give you your money back... and if that's too difficult, number two... see this body here? I merely have to break the amulet on his chest with my foot..." He placed his foot upon the body's chest as he spoke. "... and all the guards will come running. You won't be able to escape, no matter how nimble you are, even if you can fly onto rooftops or whatever. And I'll keep number three to myself." Fyroh growled at the assassin. "I'm certain you won't like number three at all. And I'd be mighty surprised if an assassin type like you can even use a heavy blade like my own, properly." Thinking as he spoke, Fyroh added, "And there might even be an option number four..."

Vlaardi nodded along with what Archaic had to say. When he had finished, Vlaardi took a small sip of his drink, not much being left by now, and replied, "I see... you're in training, with that bow, I suppose?... I guess I'm pretty much in training as well. My father was a knight, one of the elites... he hasn't returned home yet, despite a lot of them coming home, but I'm certain he's not dead." he muttered. "People are fighting everywhere for control of the streets. It's awful... everybody innocent is being dragged into this, and it's just bloodshed, every night. Almost every night you can hear someone being killed... and, if you're unlucky, the guards will investigate, which is more hassle than it's worth." Setting down his drink, Vlaardi leant over the table, a little closer to Archaic, a serious glint in his eye. "I don't know what side you and your friend are on..." he whispered, quickly checking behind himself to see if anyone was there. "... but keep quiet about it. Team Justice have this area of the city under control at the moment, so if you're not Justice... keep your mouth shut." He sat back into a comfortable position, finishing his drink. "I'll tell you now, I don't care what team you ARE on, but there's a truce for a reason. Nobody pays attention to the truce at night, but I still uphold it. It doesn't matter whether you're a Justice, an Order or a Freedom, I'm not going to kick up. And tell your friend... Shadow? Yeah, him, tell him that too, when you see him again. I don't want any trouble..." He picked up his glass. "I'll get you another of the drinks for once you're finished. I don't know what it's called or what it's made from, barkeep keeps it a secret." With that, he went to the bar and purchased two more of the drinks.

Archaic leaned in with the human, occasionally glancing around the bar. "Yeah, Shadow mentioned something about Justice in this area." He polished off his first drink, setting the empty glass on the table. "And believe me, neither one of us plan on making any trouble. And..." The coyote shrugs, letting his gaze fall to the wood of the table. "And my father is out there fighting as well, but he's on the wrong side... I'm sure he's not dead, but I wish he was. It sounds horrible, but I hate him... That's why I-" He looks up, giving the human a thin smile. "I'm sorry, you don't need to hear this." Archaic starts in on his second drink, taking a slightly larger sip and sighing.

"Nono, keep going if you like." Vlaardi replied, losing interest in his own drink. "My father is keeping the peace over in a distant land... He has been for about, 5 years, I suppose. A lot has happened... I hope one day I see him again. He was a righteous man, full of honour, and courage... I think I can apply the three groups to him; he had an incredibly strong sense of justice, upheld the order where-ever he went, and had strong beliefs regarding freedom. The people who knew him are saying I'm shaping up to be almost exactly like him. My father shines through me, they say. I wish I could meet him again... I look up to him."

He took a sip of his drink absent mindedly, before pulling his sword a few inches out of it's sheath, just enough to show the blade to Archaic. "This sword was my father's sword when he was my age, a mere squire he was, and I was a squire until not long ago, until the kingdom collapsed into the mess it's in now." Looking down at his chest, Vlaardi tugged at the brooch in the centre of his two crossed-over belts on his chest. "My father also gave me this. It's the sign of the Rayviel, the family always loyal to a true leader... Vlaardi Ohomas Rayviel is my name, and I wish I could say my alliance lies with the King, Poro, but no... Poro was always a league above my father, they never got on, actually. Poro became a lord... they say if my father came back when the first king, the fox, was still in power, he would have been a lord as well. My uncle was a lord for approximately a month... he was assassinated. Dead. Gone. Never knew him. Ah, but as for Poro, he's a very self centred man, works for money, never loyalty or friendship. He's certainly mastered combat, they say... one of the best in the land. Very experienced. Despite his lack of morals sometimes, my father told me that he only fights fair if it's an organised battle... my father and Poro duelled once, Poro claimed victory that day... I overheard that they duelled again the last time they went to war together, I didn't hear the result, and I've never asked... Only Poro came back from that war... but Poro didn't kill my father. I still believe my father is alive. He and other soliders stayed in the country to uphold the peace, and one day I shall visit him." he said, pausing for a moment. "My father never told me which of the three lords he preferred... I honestly doubt he would have chosen Poro, but I don't think he was fond of Arkhe either. I don't know what he thought of the third lord, Iope... but I do know that my father wouldn't have wanted me to base my decision from his decision." he finished, taking a very small sip of the drink. "Sorry for talking for so long. Fyroh never listens to what I have to say, and neither do a lot of my friends... But please, continue with your story."

Rigor looked on, taking in a deep breath and sighing. "I could very well let you attempt to kill him.. As technically I've only known him for an hour or so. But seeing the threat of guards coming with a tap of his paw, I might give you your earnings that I have in exchange for my own." Her smirk was a crooked one of a creature that wasn't all there in the head.. "Now, since I haven't known these fellows too well for them to have a bias for me, you hand my pouch to Fyroh to bring to me. I'll give him your money to deliver back." Her eyes were blank.. and impossible to read. She jingled the coins in her cloak pocket again as if to encourage the raptor's participation.

The raptor scoffed. "The guards do not worry me, they work for my employer. And seeing as there are dead guards here and I have their insignia, who do you think they will believe? Go ahead and call them, I'll meet you in the prison to liberate all of you of your earnings." The raptor did not worry about such things but he worried what option three could possibly hold that would give him pause. He raised the demons bane dagger and it began to glow, pulsing energy through the raptor to the sword, melting it to the hilt. He threw the hilt at fyroh with disgust. "I don't need to use that pathetic blade, nor do I even need to use my own" he said sheathing the dagger.

He threw the coin bag at Fyroh. "Get on with it fool, I haven't all night." He didn't want to kill anybody if there was a alternative, he simply wanted what he earned. The night around them was still as death and the tension was palpable. All of them stood on a hair trigger and at a second any of them could lose their lives. He knew that they weren't working for the faction he was nor did he himself owe any loyalty beyond the gold filling his pocket. It was simply a means to an end and if they tried anything he was certain he'd make it their end.

Fyroh looked on in horror as he watched his blade become nothing more than a useless handle; hardly flinching when it was thrown at him, the hilt bouncing off his chainmail underneath his clothes. "My blade..." he whispered to himself. "That cost me a lot of money... a lot..." He bent down, and picked up the remains of his sword, and picked up his shield. His face was emotionless. He didn't even respond to the coinbag, too busy looking upon his blade. "Why?" he asked quietly, tucking the remains of his under his belt. "Why did you break my sword?" His expressionless features were being twisted with anger. "You call me a fool... You haven't regarded your own actions, have you?..." Despite his anger building up, he picked up the coinpurse and threw it to Rigor without even looking at her, his eyes fixed on the assassin. His fists were curled in balls tough as steel. He could snap at a moments notice.

Rigor caught the bag and dashed off; hoping the assassin would follow without tormenting the wolf any further. Judging by the raptor's need for money, she had a feeling he would be on her heels as soon as he could catch up with her momentary head start. Her scales rippled again, blending with the environment as she ran.. The only thing the raptor would get would be a sense of direction visually; and her scent for sure. Despite all that she had done, she found her deed a good one. Keeping the raptor from harm, and keeping the wolf from doing anything stupid as the human had asked her. She smiled, savoring her great cleverness, and looked over her shoulder to see if her plan had worked.

He looked on in disgust as the dragon bolted down the street with his money "Why can nothing ever be simple" he explaimed as he tore off after her, making sure to purpose brush into the wolf almost knocking him off balance. She was remarkably fast and she had lost him in the twisting roads. He stomped his talons on the cobblestone street in anger. "Where could she be?" he wondered. He sniffed the air around him, and through the breeze caught her scent. It seemed to lead him down a alleyway which he snuck into causiously looking behind now and then to make sure the wolf hadn't followed.

"Give me my money and nothing has to come of it." he said threateningly is a decievingly soft voice. He waited eagerly for her so screwup and give away her position but she was crafty, this was going to take some handywork.

Shadow douses his fire, watching the two run down the street. "Imbusiles, the both of them..."

Archaic manages to keep himself together until he hears that name. That blasted human. "My father... He fights for Order, always has. Even named me 'Arke' after the lord... Once he became his personal lapdog I ran away, gave up his name, and eventually found Shadow. He thinks its for the best, but that only makes it worse somehow... All my life he taught me that I had to look up to you humans, learn my place at your side, and for a while I did..." He turns to his drink, taking more than a mere sip. It kept his paws from shaking, but he left his gaze on the table. "Only for a while. I heard a couple or rebels in the street a few years ago, maybe when I was twelve... They said something about a fox king restoring our freedom... I started sneaking out to their meetings, slipping out at night... I met Shadow at one... He offered to take me in when he found out what had happened..." Slowly he reaches into a pocket in his jacket, producing a thin leather collar and laying it on the table. "I still can't believe I wore this... this thing until I was fifteen... I know my father is alive out there, and I know he wants me back in this... But honestly..." When his eyes meet Vlaardis they seem sunken, and twin teartracks flank his muzzle. "Honestly I would just as soon kill him..."

"Nothing was ever going to come of it." her voice echoed throughout the alley. Her scales rippled, revealing her at the end of the alley.. along with her cloak and scythe this time, had been as invisible as she had. "If those guards worked for your employer.. Why on earth would you thank me for killing them..?" she laughed, once again playing with the coins. "And why did you have to destroy the nice wolfy's sword?"

The raptor looked at her strangely, a bit weary of her game but at the same time respectful of her prowess. "Its easy to thank you for killing the guards that work for my employer, had your friend broken the amulet that would summon more they wouldve been arrested for murder and I'd of simply walked home." he paused for a moment, watching her twirl his coin. " As for the wolf's sword, why not? It was fun hee wont be needing it." A smile washed over the raptors face as he pondered the various outcomes.

Till this point it did not appear they had been followed. The two stood alone in the alleyway, at least one of them unsure of the outcome. "What iss your goal bringing me here? If its some kind of trick you might as well give it up, or is there something else" he asked eyeing her wearily. It wasn't often he had been toyed around with and with such success by anybody, he was quite taken by it

Fyroh stood his ground quite well, hardly flinching when he was knocked into. "See? That's a perfect example of the danger that lurks the streets. Personally, I wouldn't have killed those guards. The human seemed alright... Ah, but on with the tour. I'm afraid I'm going to be quite useless in combat now without my sword..." You could tell by his voice that he was trying to remain calm, but his face completely gave him away; he was still absolutely livid. "No matter... I promised to take you on a tour of the city, and that I shall do." He picked up his shield and dagger off the ground, firmly fixing the shield to his arm. "Well, we'll carry on, then. I just can't figure out how I'll be able to afford another sword of that standard..." Sighing at his loss, he continued down the now empty street, keeping alert of his surroundings. "Just a little bit further and it's Order territory." he said. "They've got a small amount of land, but it's well positioned, as they control a lot of the main marketplace, and it's close to the palace, or Royal territory. Just in case you didn't know, we're in Justice territory right now. We should have no problem passing into their chunk of the city, just make sure you don't threaten anybody. You can be surrounded in a second..."

Vlaardi listened intently to what Archaic had to say. Once he had finished, Vlaardi leant over to table, and patted him on the shoulder. "Hey, hey now..." Vlaardi felt a slight pang of guilt. He'd urged Archaic on to talk about his father... and look what had happened. "Let me tell you now, by no means do I think us humans should be dominant over furres, in any way. It's sick that people think that way. As for Order... I have not met a single person in Order who was any less than scum. I seriously cannot believe that anyone would want Arkhe back in power; he's a monster. I'm pretty sure that Order have the least amount of people, too..." There was a lot more Vlaardi would liked to have told Archaic, but now wasn't the time, for one...

She laughed, then crossed her arms pocketing the coin. "I can't enjoy a night on the city?" She approached him, pulling out his money and handing it to him. "Who's blood were you sporting when you came into the inn? I could smell it all over you."
Title: Re: Supposedly the Greater Good

He took his coin and pocketed it, ever causious to her actions. "The blood belonged to a fox, a speaker against the lord my employers wish to see in power. They wished him silenced." he smiled while explaining, he quite enjoyed his own handywork. He pulled the insignia off his cloak. "I owe no loyalty to any other then that serves my survival, lest they make a very lucrative offer. The night has gotten out of hand" he paused thinking back on the wolven escort he had put down in the inn. It was something he didn't want to have to do, the business of murder did not require the loss of innocents. "We all have to survive, and I personally do not care if you look down upon me for my line of work"

Archaic shrugs, looking back at the table. "It's not your fault..." My dad, the war hero. A bitter thought, as usual. Gods, how long had it been since he had thought of his father? Not long enough. "Really, it is... relieving... to get that out..." A breif pause, the sounds of the bar seeming distant to the coyote. "You have to be the first Human I've met that I have actually liked..." He manages to bring his eyes up again, wiping the tears from his muzzle and taking another, more reasonable sip of his drink.

Shadow had hoped for something like this to happen, knowing Archaic to be wary of humans to this day, though mostly with the adults. Of course his problems had worsened slightly since he had first set out from the inn. "Order has a foothold here?" He was trying to keep Fyroh away from the subject of his sword, which had been an admittedly impressive blade. "I thought this was a Justice area. I expected a Freedom hideout or two, but Order? Gods, those humans and their pets..." The feline turns to Fyroh. "Please, don't tell Archaic."

Vlaardi smiled. In a way, it was nice to hear that. It was nice that he was liked by someone who'd never liked a human before... for Vlaardi knew it wasn't uncommon for furres to hate humans. "Thanks." he said, taking a sip of his drink too. "I don't know how it is, but I can imagine it must be hard... I guess us humans are just obsessed with power and making it to the top. I'm sorry for how my race acts." He didn't really know how to respond. He didn't get into situations like this every day... and Fyroh hardly talked about things like that.

"Yeah, you're right there, bud." Fyroh replied. "This is a Justice area we're in right now, but Order is..." As they crossed into a backalley, Fyroh said, "Just starting now. And don't worry, I won't tell yer little buddy... but why? Something with him and Order that gets him riled up or something?" he asked curiously. As well as talking to Shadow, he was also keeping an eye on the surroundings. By no means did he want to be jumped again, by either Order members or guards... "It's only a small chunk they've got, like I said, but they don't need much more. They control the marketplace, and they're nearest the palace, meaning if any groups were to jump an attack on the palace, they'd have to get through Order as well, that is, if they were going through the city, which probably wouldn't be the best tactic in the first place."

Rigor's eyes seemed to lighten with excitement as she leaned in.. "Unlike you I do it for fun." She tied her coin bag to her belt. It was bulging with coins, and seemed to be heavy by the look. "I usually get a good sum from killing a guard or two. And it's really only so I can afford what I need. Other than that, it's good to get people in this town riled up. The peace is uneasy around here.. And no person or furre for that matter is beyond indulging in madness." She smiled toothily and grabbed her scythe. "Just look at what I got you to do for a few coins."

The Raptor looked at her emotionless, not really buying into anything. "My need for money may of had a hand in it, but that is not all. If coin were the only thing I were after I couldve just killed everybody I came in contact with tonight." He gave her another look. She had apparently made some money killing some guards, it was respectable work. But like him she delighted in the kill, a very raptorlike quality. "Killing less is more. If you kill a lot of people sure you get panic, but its only overwhelming fright. You can do a lot more damage by killing off one by one and as the fear grips everybody around as you slowly drive the point of death home, its much more satisfying." he frowned at the thought, at the particular time he hadn't really killed for pleasure nor was he always in that mood.

he wasn't sure if she had any intent beyond luring him here, perhaps she would try to kill him, perhaps there was still more to her game. All he knew is if she tried anything he'd tear it out of her hide

Archaic sighs, placing a paw on the humans hand. "You don't need to apologize. I know not all humans are like them, and I've met a few that weren't. You're just the first one I've genuinely liked." He takes another sip of his drink, sighing. "And don't beat yourself up because of what someone else did. We've got enough to worry about without worrying about what we can't change." He smiles, a genuine smile, as he realizes he had just quoted Shadow. That was exactly what he had said the night he had run away, the night his father had become the first non-human bodyguard to Arkhe.

Shadow at the moment was feeling a bit less philosophical. Being vigilant with one eye was difficult enough, though he did have the advantage of night sight. "Yes, part of my reason with leaving him behind. He has some..." The felines pauses for a brief moment as a slight breeze ruffles a wind chime. "Well, as you may have guessed, I am not the boys father. His real father is one of those rare lunatics fighting willingly for Order. He even made it to the rank of field commander, the only non-human to ever do that I believe. I heard he was in the area, commanding a legion of rebels. When I could not find an Order sect in the area, I simply dismissed the claims. But now... this changes things."

"Well, you see, this coin bag that I have, is not from one night. It accumulates over time." She walked around him, eyeing him, ready for anything he might try. She could tell he was weary of her movements by the tenseness of his appearance. "I kill at most three a night. I was planning on taking out the group or part of the group I was with, until those damn guards came along." She felt like a reaper by the way she walked with her scythe. And really, it wasn't far from the truth. She could indeed reap a soul, but it took a lot from her and it often wasn't a stable power she had.. "This city is in a state of decay no matter what those three groups decide to do, and it seems that no one is aware of it. Are you?"

He watched her closely and unsheathed his dagger, he spun it around in his fingers till it rested downward ready to parry whatever attacks she might throw at him. "Of course I know the city is in a state of decay, I'm a mercenary, a assassin. I thrive on the fall and decay of society. I make quite a killing in times like this to whoever is smart enough to pay for my services." he paused, he really didnt need to answer her but he seemed compelled to. "Its a shame you didn't kill your companions, or are you saving that oversized blade for me?" he asked, not really believing she had ill intent. Instead he felt she might have other plans, possibly lucrative plans.

He walked a bit away from her, decievingly letting down his guard though keeping perfect track of her position through scent. "Tell me dragon, you looking to start a revolution or merely to kill. Society may be crumbling, of that I have no doubt. But I also have no doubt that thats not what you really care about. Perhaps something else?" he turned his head, looking back at her with his sharp eyes. He allowed his eyes to wander, tracing her figure. In truth she had him enthralled in mystery, what was her purpose he could not tell, but he wanted to find out

Rigor tapped her fingers on her scythe thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what I have in store for you.." she said tilting her head to the side. "But I am not interested in a revolution. A revolution is only temporary; it quickly decays and makes way for corruption and bribery throughout the government.. So long as every being in this city is squabbling over race, we will get nowhere." She smiled, leaning on her blade. "As long as ONE leader rules the land, we will get nowhere. And as long as we all scrape for money out of greed, we will get nowhere. I am not merely suggesting a revolution. I am suggesting a complete change in government altogether even if I must try and do it myself."

He pondered her words, scratching his claws along his dewflap. "A change in government, would be a great undertaking. To make it succeed you'd need to eliminate the doubt between humans and furs." with that he smiled. "In that regard I can be useful, eliminating the undesireable element is often what I do" He shifted and walked back torwards her and looked her dead in the eyes, towering nearly a foot over her. "I'd like to eventually have a good place to settle down, even a assassin has to retire sometime. I'd like to create such a place to live out my days. But if I were to assist you in this, you better not screw me over."

He stepped back and sheathed his dagger, feeling confident murder was not her cause at least not for him. It was very dark in the alleyway, enhancing the shadowy mood between the two and whatever shifty deal might of been going on. She seemed reserved to him, almost wanting to ask him something but not quite sure she wanted to at the same time. Still her ideas of changing things suited the raptor just fine. Nothing would ever change even if one of the three factions where to rise to power. Remnants of the other two would always cause strife. There needed to be a entirely new government in place.

Vlaardi looked to the ceiling, taking another drink. "And you know what?" he replied. "You're absolutely right. Thanks." Vlaardi thought over what Archaic had just said. It was a good quote, Vlaardi thought. Maybe I'll use it in future. "You know, I can't help but worry a little what Fyroh's doing. I mean, usually he's fine, and I bet he is, but..." He sighed, looking to the door. "Sometimes I worry about him... just like I worry about my father... or... my other friend... cut a long story short, he was knocked off the edge of some flying contraption, but despite the fall, somehow he survived, something saved him, he wasn't too clear on it. He didn't tell me all the details, it was some telepathic message. Fyroh says I was dreamin' it, but nah, it was for real." he said, thinking about his friend. "It was a real message. Daydreams don't just do that, send voices through your head clear as day. He's alright, but I may never see him again." Vlaardi didn't look too upset, despite this. "He's alive and kicking, I know that, and that's alright." Most people had gone to their rooms in the inn. Only a few people having quiet discussions, and a few rowdies at the bar remained.

Fyroh gave Shadow a weird look. "Fighting willingly? For Order?! What a crazy fool!" he whispered, so no Order scouts could hear him. "But I wouldn't be surprised. If he IS in the area, then there's little we can do. We cannot break the truce, though it's already been broken thousands of times. If there was no truce, this city would be reduced to rubble within a day, and ALL of the lords killed, probably even that Freedom guy." he sighed. "Speaking of the lords, I think Justice are the only group which doesn't have direct contact with theirs... I mean, the Freedom bunch have that fox dude with them all the time, I think, and I'm willing to bet that Arkhe makes plans with Order. Poor old Iope probably hasn't grasped the concept of the fighting yet." he said, smirking a little. "Nah, I kid, I kid..."

Nikkoli decided to stay behind instead, wandering outside on her own to creep along the quiet streets of Cerkath by herself. Her eyes reflected every beam of light as she passed. She was quick to hide from the guards and slow to attack, they gave her no reason.

"I mean, it was a thought, but if I actually did go through with it, I'd lose all my fun." She leaned back on her tail, using it and it only for support. "Though to get to that rank in the government.." She grinned, imagining the power that she could have in one single hand, and the slaughter it would take. "That would make me a hypocrite.." The dragoness seemed to be taken in a conversation with herself, ignoring the raptor. To be honest, she didn't know what to do. She just knew that fun was fun.. And if she really wanted to, she could use her cleverly built ploy or idea lead her to more. "Ah, yes. What to do, what to do.. I say maybe you should." In a way, she seemed lost and out of touch with reality altogether.

The raptor watched her converse with herself, using body language and tilting her head ect as if there were somebody there listening to her besides him. At first he thought it to be comical but the novelty quickly wore off as she shown no sign of snapping out of it. He puffed in anger and walked up and shook her roughly. "Your wasting my time dragon, get on with it." he said in a loud, declaritive tone. "What is it you want from me, I'm tired of playing these games." Tell tale signs of anger could be seen all over the raptor, his muscles were tensed and his teeth bared. It was rare for him to get to such a level but she was quickly driving him there. Fustrated he let go and took a few steps off to the side, pondering to himself. To him she seemed to make perfect sense, at times a bit off but there was intelligence there without mistake.

He leaned up against a wall nearby, twirling his dagger in his claws while he waited for her to come to her senses. Light was beggining to creep over the houses, and the calling of roosters could be heard in the distance. He could hardly believe the night had gone by so fast. It was gonna be busy soon and he couldn't afford to be discorvered here, but he would wait for her.

She looked to him, then stood with her own two feet. "What is it you think I want with you?" she questioned, her tone almost sarcastically musical. She spun her scythe in one hand, sheathing it back on her back with style. "Well, better than answering that question, how about we take a stroll to somewhere that's not so bright?" Her golden eyes widened as she looked up, then retracted until they were nothing more than slits. "Because I don't need to be out here when someone discovers the bodies of the two that I took tonight." Her character seemed darker than before as she walked past the raptor and tipped his dagger with her tail just enough to throw it out of sync.

The dagger falls to the ground, sticking into it blade first. "Nice shot" he said softly. He puffed and grabbed the blade, sheathing it as he began to follow her. "i wouldn't worry about the two guards, we can always blame it on the wolf" he said remembering his regimental insignia. It would be easy for him to convince them that they were innocent. Focusing on what was at hand, he wasn't completely sure where she was going but he followed anyways. It wasn't like he had anything better to do and he was intrigued to say the least. Perhaps there was coin in it for him or at the very least a chance for fun

Shadow laughs as loud as he dares, his good eye scanning rooftops in search of Order archers. "The old man likely believes the truce is holding well. I'm sure those around him prefer it that way." He smiles and leans back against a wall. "Most jests, most with that sort of power, have their basis in the truth." The feline sighs softly, satisfied that there was no immediate danger. "And as for Renault, the boys father... He may be a fool, but he is a driven fool. No truce will stand between him and 'serving the master'. He has a fanatical obedience to Arkhe, and I suppose if he were not pulling strings Renault would have been deposed by now. No human in Order would serve a furre if he were not Arkhes lapdog..." A brief silence falls, and Shadow lets it hang before asking his next question. Part of his inherent flare for the dramatic. "Have there been any disappearances around Order territory lately? Fighting age male furres would be the most likely, especially if they made a point of showing equality or superiority to humans." Another briefer pause, then another question. This one seemed more worried. "Vlaardi would not come close to the Order realms, would he?"

Archaic smiled, patting Vlaardi on the shoulder. "I'm sure you will see him again. I find things have a way of working out as they should. Like Shadow taking me in when I ran away. I know you will see him again, just like you know your father is alive. And like you know your vision was real." This was his chance to change the subject, get off of these depressing topics. "So tell me about this flying machine."

Fyroh shrugged as he continued onwards. "I don't know." he replied.  "I don't keep track of disappearences, there's an awful lot of them, most of them the body is found dead. I haven't noticed any trend or pattern, but there might be one. I dunno. Ask someone else, maybe Vlaardi knows... speaking of him, no, he wouldn't, I dare say. He has no business with Order, only reason he'd go near is in the daytime for the market or somethin'. He does sneak out at night sometimes, but if I know the boy, he doesn't go near Order territory." Fyroh was completely unaware that he was giving away a lot of information in the conversation, both personal and political. "Ah, here's the main square, marketplace and all that. Stalls are all abandoned now, of course..." Suddenly, Fyroh stopped walking in the road and drew to the shadows. "Watch it... There's some royal guards patrolling over there... We'll surely be stopped at this hour... there's a good amount there, too... I think, unless you really want to continue, we'll have to turn back, and I'll show you the rest in the morning, we'll go around the other way this time, through the main of Justice and Freedom areas." he whispered.

Vlaardi smiled back, before recalling memories of the flying machine. "Very hard to describe. Powered by magic, I know that much... It's shaped a bit like a ship, but not really... Umm... It's lightweight wood, and it's like a semi-circle... with a point... errm... Sorry, I'm not being very helpful with this description." He laughed a little, before continuing, "What I do know is that it's used primarily for speed of travelling, and to get to places which would take too long or be too dangerous to go by other methods... but of course, there's danger in the sky, too, which is why... you know, I was seperated from my friend." He sighed, drumming his fingers on the table. "I'd have to show you for you to understand about it... Oh, it's quite late... Do you think the group out there are okay? Cerkath is a big place, but..." Despite the time, Vlaardi wasn't feeling tired... at least, not very tired. He'd completely forgotten about his food order, too.

Rigor walked along the alley way and into the the streets, watching the shadows of the night disappear into the light. She allowed her eyes to adjust; the brightness overtaking her night vision, her head seemingly on a jerky swivel as she kept constantly aware of everything in her surroundings. She trudged on until she stopped at building that looked weathered and abandoned, but by the sounds from within and the changing of lighting, you could tell it was bustling with activity. The sign that protruded from above the door hung from rusty chains on an equally rusted pole and read, "The Dragon's Keep" with "Welcome all strangers" written in dragonscript at the bottom in smaller letters. Despite the ragged condition of the wood it was written on, the writing was still legible. The dragoness bowed as of to welcome and encourage the raptor to follow her lead and gave a knock at the door. Immediately, a hidden slot flew open revealing two blood red eyes and a gruff voice that asked something in the language of the dead. She laughed, replying back in the same language and the door opened, slamming shut behind her.

Hearing someone speak, Nikkoli scoots closer to the group of furs and snarls low in her throat. "Who are you?" She demands, stepping in front of Fyroh, not able to recognize him in the poor light.

Tezztor knocked heavily on the door, waiting for it a response. When it was given he tried to imitate Rigor's speach the best he could hoping they would let him in as well. Though the whole language of the dead with unerving to him the though of profit and gain fueled him past his own suspicions. There was no response and the opening had shut. "What a I ssuposed to do now." he said to himself. He didnt know the language enough to hear it spoken fluently so he just leaned against the wall and waited for something to happen.

Suddenly there was the gruff voice again, followed by Rigor's angry voice.. And the door swung open. "Come on in, don't mind the stiffs." She looked to the Brute-ish creature that guarded the door playfully. His body was chiseled, muscular to the point of a body builder and tentacles fell over where his mouth should have been. His skin was a paler red than his eyes, but he was a strange sight for any mortal's eyes. As were most of the clients of the bar..  He returned her glance with a more serious look, almost angrily eying the raptor. Everyone in the bar was speaking the language in which she had gained access with, very seldom English could be found in the sea of strange and almost alien voices that filled the tavern. She walked to a corner and took a seat at a round wooden table, and took in a deep breath.

The Raptor stepped in the door, eyeing the strange creature who guarded it. Truly a a foul monstrocity if ever had had seen one. As he followed her into the bar more strange abominations came into view.  "What strange den is this?" he said softly to himself. He followed her curiously to a table and waited for her to take a seat before seating himself. 'Why have you brung me here?" he asked diligently. It was an uncomfortable situation for him and no doubtedly those around him felt the sapping power of the demons bane dagger which had help fell similar devilry in the past.

"To rest safely." She said, looking to the raptor. "We can't get much done during the day." There were no lights in tavern, but there were purple torches that lit up the place enough for creatures who were not quite so nimble in the dark lighting to be see enough to mobilize. Her eyes seemed to self illuminate their golden yellow, almost emotionless. "You can't tell me you're not tired with as much as I'm sure you have done."

Fyroh froze instinctively when he heard a voice ahead of him. With no blade, he was practically defenseless. "Leave us be. We're but travellers... wait a second..." He recognised her voice, and could just make out the outline of her body. "Oh, it's you again." he muttered, relaxing again. "We were heading back. My blade's been broken, and I need sleep, so we're going back to the tavern and continuing in the morning. Join us if you like."

"Yes, it's us, and we really should be getting back." Shadow slipped out of the darkness just a little more dramatically than usual, thanks in part to a faint breeze ruffling his cloak. "It is late, and we are probably deeper into Order territory than we should be." The feline smiles as he turns back into the shadows. "I wonder if Archaic and Vlaardi are getting along."

The raptor lay back into his chair relaxing. "Yeah I am a bit tired, its been a long day. But I don't know if I feel comfortable amongst such company. How about you, why do you come here. There is definately something your not telling me." he said pausing. His eyes scanned her, and surveyed her movement for any hidding unease or tension but they found none. The air itself was ripe with scent of these creatures he could only wonder why so many loathesome beasts were in one place. The smell was overpowering, interfering with his abilityto accurately follow scent and it distrubed him.

"Naturally. We need to get out of Order territory, obviously, so now we're heading back to the tavern. You coming?" he asked her, but began walking without waiting for a response. He wasn't concerned whether she was or not; if she was coming, she'd follow along. "I'm sure Vlaardi and Archaic are doing just fine." he added. "Not too far until we're back into Justice territory..."

"Well, this is where we outcasts who don't have an opinion of our future ruler gather. Outcasts, because our ways may not agree with the current society we live in or we may not look acceptable.. And when we don't fit, we only have each other to stick with. We may not have a very tightly woven relationship for one another, but we have the gift of neutrality. Unlike most areas, this place does not belong to any territory of the current silent war.  I come here because my mind is at ease knowing I'm among some that agree with me." She looked to a halllway and tilted her head to it. "Rooms are free, just make sure they're empty. And don't be surprised if you get company. They wont attack you, but it's possible for them to be..." She paused, "A little friendly. Usually you tell them that you aren't interested and they leave."

Shadow darted through the darkness, watching from an alleyway as a pair of Order sentries walked through the street. Two humans, only different from the regular guards in their uniforms. That and their weapons seemed just a bit more menacing, though that was likely little more than the felines personal bias.

Back at the bar Archaic was starting to feel drowsy, and he yawned in a distinctly canine fashion. "They're probably just wandering. Like you said, Cerkath is a big place." The bar was almost entirely empty, and those still lingering seemed to be far removed from the two boys at the table.

Tezztor raised an eyebrow when she mentioned company. "Hopefully they won't get as irrate as that wolven escort back at the other inn I first saw you at. She woudn't take no for an answer so I had to.. persuade her." he said thinking back on the deed. He felt bad for doing it but he had no other choice she was getting agressive. He trailed off into thought for a few, staring blankly into space. The strange creatures of the tavern milled about without care, he felt it to be a interesting thing that though shunned in the outside world they found solice together with others of the same odd ilk. It had been a long time since he shared such peace and just the thought of it braught him some. "As tired as I am I think I'll stay up a bit, hard to sleep till I can clear my thoughts."

She nodded, following silently as Fyroh continued his conversation. She listened in halfway, keeping her ears open for any unusual sounds of others tracking them. Her eyes were widened to let in more light but narrowed at the sound of disturbed gravel. Her tail stiffened and she turned around, lips pulled back in an unpleasant snarl.

"Whatever suits you." The dragoness trailed off into her own thoughts, wondering how far the group she had been with may have gotten. It bothered her that she let them go.

She continued thinking until one of the creatures at the table behind her jabbed her with an elbow, completely ripping her from her thoughts. What's with bringing that in? He questioned her in the language of the dead, seemingly aggravated, He probably can't even comprehend our language.

Rigor returned with an angry stare of her own, Oh lighten up. Don't be so prejudiced. I don't have to answer to you, I don't even know you.

Done with such business, she turned away, until the creature grabbed her by the sleeve and whipped her around, his voice now more tense than before, He's got purity on him as if it were a stench that I could smell for miles.

Tezztor stood and quickly flashed the demon's bane at the creature. 'You'd do well to unhand her lest you fancy your soul being torn by this blade. That is if a abomination like you even has a soul. And in case you can't understand what I say.." he finished his speach by mockingly running the blade across his throat in a threatening manner. He sniffed the air for possible assailents, but the other patrons of the tavern seemed little interested in helping out. The purple jewel in the center of the blade glew, ready to be fed more power from a new soul. "I don't know what you said to her but if I get so much of a hint that you will harm her, I'm gonna paint the town with your blood."

The dragoness pulled away, sneering at the creature. If you know what's good for you, you'll leave me be. I'll take care of you before he will.. She shifted her eyes to Tezztor, then the blade he had drawn. It made her a little nervous, seeing how she was considered to be as dark as any other being within the place and therefore equally as vulnerable. She didn't know how he faired with dark forces, but she did know some of his weaknesses already psychologically. If she couldn't take him by strength if he decided to turned on her, she'd take him by using wit. "I think it might be best if we moved on to a room." Rigor suggested, standing up.

Tezztor sensed a unease, in reaction putting him at unease. She was very hard to read, while he believed she might not truly understand her power to its fullest she still had power. She had a cleverness to her he wouldn't underestimate. "Very well, you know this place better I'll let you pick the room." his voice ripe with unease. He was tense he needed to relax and the lack of sleep wasn't helping him. Despite the confrontation there seemed to be a air of general peace about the room, its was calming and unnerving at the same time. "Hopefull no more tricks tonight hmm? I've had my fill" he said flipping the dagger about skillfully in his hand before sheathing it then bowed waiting for her to lead the way.

She did not hesitate to walk down the hallway, peeking into rooms for an empty one. All the doors were open, some rooms not even having doors, but all of them lit with candles with the exception of maybe two that had unexplainable noises coming from beyond the darkness. In the end, she was able to find a room with one bed in it, as most did. She stepped inside and looked around inspecting it. There was no window, and the parts of the walls that were visible were stained with a foreign substance, maybe dried blood. But in all it was a good room. Rigor invited Tezztor in, taking the corner to sit in. The darkness seemed to welcome her in an embrace, the only thing left visible were her yellow eyes and unusual markings that seemed to glow with an uncanny, yet mad power.

Tezztor cautiously followed in the room, surveying it and taking note of its features. "Cozy" he simply said noting the stains and the ripe scent of certain acts. Nothing in the room look inviting for him but he shut the flimsy wooden door behind him. "What a hole, I feel like i've contracted about fifteen diseases just by entering." he said kneeling to observe a bone on the floor. Maybe he could finally get some rest, but he couldn't help the unease of her staring out of the corner at him. Her eyes shone through the darkness like a beacon like the other neon esque features of her. He shrugged and made his way over to the dresser where a flyer for the inn lay and picked it up. "Ah room service, whats on the menu" his eyes widened noting it was escort services. "Perhaps now is not the time"

Rigor laughed at the raptor's reaction to the place, the neon purple inside of her mouth seeming to dimly glow as well.. "Beggars can't be choosers." Her eyes closed, her thoughts swirling within of ways to make a catalyst for change around in the city. Mostly governmental changes. She felt the need to slip out of the room, to maybe cause a riot of protesters or some kind of trouble in which the government would have to deal with. "We can stay here, or we can try to find another place.. It's your call. Either is fine with me."

Tezztor smirked, "it will hae to do, at least theres a smaller chance of people bothering me here" he found a cozy and somewhat clean spot on the floor and pulled off his pack. He shuffled about it for a bit before pulling out a large sleeping bag like cloth and strewing it across the floor before laying on it. From his position he noticed a small rag in the bag amd pulled it out and staring at it. "her favor..." he said softly not expecting anybody to hear him. She had given it to him as a running joke making fun of the traditions of the Wolven knights. It came to hold a sentimental and loving symbol between them. "Look at me now, laying in this hole surrounded by beasts who probably want to kill me. How far have I fallen?" He put the rag back into the pack and rested his head on his arms. "i know so little about you dragoness, I'd hate to close my eyes and reopen them in the halls of my fathers. Should I expect a blade from you?"

"No, nothing from me." She said, her eyes still closed as she meditated further on her quest of chaos. Really, she just hoped for him to fall asleep quickly. She wanted to leave, do something other than rest. Her brain was not tired, and she could not rest. Rest was a waste of time in her eyes, just something keeping her from accomplishing her goal. She knew that she could not have instant gratification, but waiting killed her on the inside, and her impatience made her restless. Ready for a thrill.

Tezztor didn't really know what to expect but he shut his eyes and rested. He could feel the vibrations from the next room over as he lay there, it didnt rest well with him as the wooden walls did little to mask the sounds. The walls creaked and across the floor a roach scuttled. He clenched his fist in disdain. "Let the night go swiftly" he thought.

After she was sure he was sleeping soundly, her scales rippled to black, making her completely invisible to the naked eye. She snuck out of the room, keeping close to the shadows. A riot in the streets would take too long.. The raptor would wake, and think she had left him for the others in the tavern to take care of him, and not positively. The creature that had been bothering her earlier was the only one to have seen her with the raptor.. And knew that she had brought him in. That was one strike. He had also seen Tezztor and his unusual blade. Strike two. He had understood Tezztor's threat. Strike three. He had to be eliminated. Cloaked by darkness, she made her way to the table where he had been. His stench still lingered in the air. Carefully, she followed it back down the hallway and into the room neighboring hers. He was apparently the one causing the vibrations. She readied her scythe as she burst into the room. The thing was so surprised that he or his company had no time to call out before Rigor silenced them. The vibrations once disturbing the place stopped. Stepping out, she closed the door behind her and slipped into the room to sit her scythe in the corner. It was still fresh with blood. Her scales rippled back to their normal neon state as she stepped back out. Her hunger had built with the excitement of a kill. Celebration was in order for keeping her quota for the night. She had taken four in total, including the two guards.

Tezztor fidgeted about as he felt the dark presance sweep past him and sat up abruptly with his demons blade forward as if ready to stab, but then fell back asleep mumbling. ".....They won't get you no..." he said softly in his sleep. He was out like a light and seemed to be peaceful aside from the bad dreams he usually had of that fateful night. He would probably never know what Rigor had done but the lack of vibrations seemed to soothe him a bit as he lay there, now snoring with a hissing exhale.
