on this cold and stormy night the wind whisted through the cells like an angry beast searching for its prey
suddenly luke heard a withered cry for help from the next cell

she shook in her cell and mentally growled. when she heard the cell next to her screech she crawld as best she could over tot he opening and wormed her thin arm through the bars to hold ont o his hand"dont worry"she soothed "well be out here soon"she turned her head so she wouldnt see her angry tears

luke sighed and passed his daily rations over "here you need it more" he then crossed over to his cell window stared at the moon and began to sob

Syracuse slouched against the bars, brushing dirt from her clean white skirt. She'd been thrown in the day before and she hid her clothes when the humans came back to check on her. After they left, she put them under her head and slept for an hour or two, unsure how long she'd be there before the research began. "Anyone here who can speak plain English for once?" She asked halfheartedly. All the words she learned one of the kinder humans had to teach her. She had the feeling that there were a handful like Serena. She smiled at the thought of her coming again that night.

luke theen heard a voice fom the next cell he went up to the wall and cautiously answered "hello?"

"Finally!" She exclaimed, rushing to the bars, fur standing on end. "Who's out there?"

luke was astonished at the way the other furry reacted it was like she didnt know if furrys could talk at all "well i am luke a once proud furry warrior before they crammed me in this dump"by this time he haad a small growl in hs voice.

Markings: Numerous scars, especially on hands, feet and torso.
Prefered Weapon: Own body and energy as he lost his weapons...T_T
Clothes: A pair of baggy trousers and a pair of gloves fused to his skin.
Flames ceased his meditation and opened his eyes, hearing voices. Other captives. Just how long had it been since he'd drifted away? Seeing as his energy was back up a bit, he must of been meditating for many hours, maybe even days, without realising it.
He calmly called out to the other furries: "Heya Luke, who's the new one? I wanna know everyone before we try and escape..." His tone was very confident for someone who hadn't ate or slept in days and was locked up.

luke turned to find flames out of medtation "glad you could finally join us"he said wthh as much cockyness of a teenage ferret "you missed 5 new arrivals this is..." he suddenly became unsure of whaaat he was saying "whats ur name?"

She settled her fur and sighed in contentment. "Well, at least those humans aren't back yet. What do they want with us anyway?"

"That makes sense. They certainly know what they're doing when it comes to these cages, I have to admit. They are magic repelling, can withstand great physical pressure and were made to keep us low on energy by draining our Ki, although meditation is an excellent way of avoiding this feature." He said calmly, although there seemed to be extra meanings to his words. He turned to the female who had just spoke and spoke again in a more friendly manner: "We haven't been introduced yet, have we? I'm Flames. May I ask what your name is?"

"Nice to meet you Flames. My name is Syracuse. I was living in the Aortic." She groaned to herself, annoyed with being captive.

"The pleasure is mine, Syracuse. Give me a bit more time to regain my energy and I'll try to break us all out. The cages may be resistant to magic and brute strength, but an energy blast or Ki Bakkuha of some sort should do the trick."

She smiled, escape sounded good. "Wait till nightfall. There's a human coming to visit me, she'll understand us and prolly help us out of here."

luke fnished tinkerng in the corner of his cell "that should do it stand clear of the glass walls" luke charged his arm cannon and fired at the glass wall it went acros the room and through Syracuse's cell " omg wow that was beter than i thouht it would be :ded:"

Syracuse jumped, yelping. "Good Aero. Don't do that!" She growled, clutching her naked chest as she gasped for air and waited for her heartbeat to return to normal.

"well at least we are out now to free flames" he fired at flames cell but with a different result the glaaas absorbed the laaazer and then shot t back trickng luke right on the chest leaaving him daaazed confued and with a black spot of burnt fur

"Jeez..Throw me that!" She called, waiting to catch the piece of machinery. "You obviously can't operate it that close to the glass. Let me tinker with it a minute."

"Way to make a racket. I might as well blast myself out, as it probably won't be long before someone investigates here." Flames said, not so much as flinching from the shot. Meditating for such a long time tended to leave people in an eerie calm.
"Try not to get yourself hurt next time." He told Luke, before gathering his Ki into an orb and...
"Enerugi-Tanma!" The orb shone brightly as it was fired, blinding everyone who looked at it for half a second or so. When their eyes adjusted, there was just an outline in the ground of where the cage had been, with Flames standing casually in the middle.

She grumbled under her breath as footsteps echoed down the hall, coming closer. "Great..." The footsteps slowed as they neared her cage, finally stopping as a girl about seventeen came into view.

Flames dissolved into the shadows for the time being. Even if this girl was friend rather than foe, he preffered to be out of sight for the moment.

Flames mentally smacked his palm to his head. Luke needed to work a bit on subtlety, it seemed. "Oh, well..." Flames thought, decideing that he might as well reveal himself now.

"now back to buisness who are you and why are you here?"luke raised his arm cannon and pointed it at the human "answer me!"he shouted with growing impatience.

The human glanced at Syracuse and ran to hide behind her. "Syras, who're they?"

luke lowered his gun in confusion it looked like this human was an ally "i am sorry to have startled you i am luke a noble furry warrior with a bad paast to you humans" he held his hand out to shake hands

Flames stepped foward, radiating a calm and friendly aura. "Sorry about that. He's a bit trigger happy today, but he means no harm." Flames told the girl, smiling warmly. "Sorry if we startled you."

She stayed behind Syracuse, afraid to even talk to him. "Whatever your business, please don't harm me."

At the sound of cooing from Syracuse, the girl stepped out from behind her. "Is it safe to speak?" She asked, shivering. Syracuse nodded. "Yes, Natalie. It's fine."

"We truly mean no harm. Our goal is simply to escape, preferably with as few casulties as possible." At the end part Flames glanced at Luke briefly before returning his gaze to Natalie and Syracuse.

Natalie stepped beside Syracuse and glanced fearfully at Luke. "Is he going to shoot me?" She asked softly, hovering between hiding behind her and running.

"Not if I have a say in the matter..." Flames mumbled, just loud enough for everyone to hear, keeping one eye on Luke.

Syracuse shook her head, wrapping her tail reassuringly around Natalie's waist. "Shush sweetie. He won't, promise."

Natalie nodded, holding out her hand and shaking his. "Truce. I'm Natilia. You can call me Nat or Natalie if you like." Her brilliant green eyes glittered brightly as she moved her hand to lift up his chin gently. "There's no need to be ashamed or anything. I'm a scary human, I know. I understand more about your position than you think."
Syracuse smiled, moving to stand a little away from them as she released the human. "Take care of yourself, I've got something to do real quick." She ordered, sneaking down the hall to an unmarked steel door. When she had picked the lock with her claws, she slipped in and stole her weapons back. Returning to the cells, she bobbed her head once to a fur in the back of her cell and turned around to head out. "They'll be here to investigate the noise in about ten minutes. We better go now. Natilia, go to the storage room and get all the machinery you can. Don't get caught by anyone." She growled, issuing orders like a general. "Let's move."

luke looked at syracuse with a slightly concerned smile at the way she gave orders and yet here he was doing nothing he went up to her and asked "anything for me to do?"

Flames immediately set himself into the correct mindset, before running through a list of possible actions. "Shall I scout out the area ahead to minamalize our encounters? I am rather stealthy...Although I am open to any better ideas you have for me." He said calmly to Syracuse, not minding what he ended up doing, as long as he was an asset to everyone rather than a burden.

She smiled back at Luke, nodding. "Yes, I'd like for you to take your arm cannon and see if we have any early risers, please." She turned to Flames, face thoughtful. "I think Natilia would be better suited for that. You can help me though. We have to be quick if we are to survive this encounter."

"As you wish." Flames said, seeing the logic in Syracuse's words. He was ready to aid everyone in any way he could, after all, it was people's freedom at stake here. Flames hated not having freedom or seeing those with freedom unavailable to them. It was one of the few things that ever got him worked up. They all had to be freed.

"I mean early arrivals. Scientists switching patrols again?" She explained, exasperated.

luke gave a silly little salute and ran off to the T junction in front of the cell block he looked down the right path and was immeadiatly shot in the back with a tranquiliser and fell to the ground asleep :sleepytime:

"Good lord above!" She cursed, making a signal to the fur in the cage. "Go investigate and keep from being seen!" She ordered, smacking her forehead repeatedly in frustration. "Why doesn't anything ever go right?" She demanded, lashing her tail back and forth.

Flames didn't ask any questions. If he had to get answers he would obtain them, but if they weren't required, he would wait for the answers to be revealed.
"What exactly are you requiring of me to do in our escape?" Flames asked softly, partially hidden in the shadows once more. The blend of light and dark felt oddly...comforting...

As the fur slipped into the shadows, dragging Luke back; it sniffed for humans.

as luke was benng dragged he began to wake up to find the ceiling was moving thinking his captor was human he started kicking around trying to struggle free when he went to bite the "humans" hand he was puzzled by the amount of fur on it he then found out he was beingg dragged by none other than his own comrade flames he then weakly asked "flames...do i snore when im asleep"

The fox growled. "Who is flames?" She demanded, pulling him faster as the scent of humans grew stronger. "Stay here and be quiet!" She ordered. Syracuse grumbled under her breath and sneaked down the hall, keeping to the shadows. As she neared the end of the steel corridor, she heard a pop and a whining noise. She cursed. Ducking swiftly, she dodged the tranquilizer and spun to slash at the human. When the young man was knocked out, she searched him and gained the tranq gun, some keys, and a 9mm pistol. "This is better." She slipped to the floor and slid across, keeping her head low as she blended in with the darkened tile. "Flames?!" She hissed, motioning him to follow her example. "Knock them out, steal what you can, and hide them." She growled, making sure he heard her before she continued down another corridor, towards the other weapons rooms.

The fox smiled. "Name's Maximus, nice to meet you."

Flames complied, blurring a few times in quick succession, reappearing moments later with food supplies and a bulging pockets. The humans were nowhere to be seen and wouldn't be found for many hours, he had made sure of it. He quickly adjusted his gloves and trousers, before moving once more, the only things in his pockets being all survival related, with no weaponry. Flames needed no weapons save his body, mind and spirit...although a bladed weapon was almost tempting...

"Goodness grace! Where did you get all of that?"

"sorry maximus i couldnt see any colour all I saw was a grey paw on my shoulder"luke said as he blushed :"> he then snapped out of it and gave her a second cannon "you may need this"

"You'll be surprised at what hides in the shadows...and secret compartments." Flames said cryptically with a shrug. "These supplies should help us last out there. Weaponry alone is of little use, after all."

"You're right. I hadn't thought of food. I was more concerned with getting out of here." She chuckled, lowering her voice and slipping back into the dark. "Follow me, keep quiet.." Maximus shrugged her shoulders, holding out a paw. "It's alright. A mistake is a mistake. No harm done."

Flames followed, trying to stick close to the walls, where there would be shadow. If they could avoid confrontation as much as possible they would have a higher success rate of escape and of locating any others that were being kept here. They could probably take care of most humans who tried to detain them, but it would waste time and effort. Not only that, but the shadows felt like home to Flames, as he swiftly moved from patch of darkness to patch of darkness, almost invisible to most eyes. A combination of light and darkness: Shadows. They were all like shadows glding along, weren't they. A group rebelling and escaping, wiling to harm others to reach their goal; yet doing so righteously and with good reason...

Syracuse growled to herself, wrapping her tail around his waist and jerking him back. "Don't move. Someone's coming." She hissed, pulling out a blade as long as her arm that shimmered dully. Flicking it once, she succeeded in splitting it into three blades that hummed as they whipped through the air.

"That's..." Flames whispered softly, realising who, or rather what , had been about to attack them. The scrap metal collided loudly with the floor as it broke apart, the furry android now armless. Whilst genetically modication seemed to be the main method the humans had of creating their warriors, it seemed there were still some android prototypes functioning and in service.
Designed to blend in with other furs and capture them, the furry android model FA-39 was equipped with only light armour under its artificial fur, but was rather swift and came equipped with several stun/capture weapons. Nobody knew that apart from the humans and it didn't matter anyway, as the rare android was about to become a pile of nuts and bolts...

She growled, flicking the blade again and releasing it, smirking as it embedded itself in the chest of the furry android. "There. Frisk it." She told herself, going over the scrap metal quickly. She collected some pieces of stainless steel, nuts, bolts, screws, and nails for later. "Let's keep going. I think there's a few healthier furries around here somewhere..."

Vince woke up in his high containment cell after being knocked out by several traquilisers. He had no idea how long he had been out but he sure wasn't going to stay in here for long. The last cell hadn't been able to hold him back, so why would this one?

Markings: A set of cybernetic implants that would put him right at home with Keanu Reeves
Preferred weapon: A prototype arm gun
Clothes: A suit of experimental powered armor, designed for arctic combat
If not for the other circumstances, Marko would have been overjoyed that his suit worked. It had powered up normally as soon as the first guard had reported firing a tranquilizer, and the speed and agility enhancers got him across the facility well under the previous tests record. The heating systems also kept him adequately warm and kept ice from forming on the suit, despite it being well below zero celsius. Soon he started down the corridor, the sounds of the suit echoing down the hallway. Back in lab E-27, on the opposite end of the castle, a voice declared the latest test underway.

luke regarded maximus's fighting style for a moment before moving on he then casually said "nice technique who taught you it?"

Syracuse grinned, "Me."

"Last time hadn't went that well..." Vince thought. Brutely thrashing out of the cell hadn't done the trick,so he had to think about something new this time because he had always guards outside his cell, watching...
"Perhaps someone else was thinking of escaping?" He thought. "If I just could get in contact with them... somehow..."

sh decided eough was enough and done a bak take to kick the jil door, she knew it was risky, but at least shed be free. she stood ad the doo groane and fell against thefloor witha satisfying BANG she stepped over and looked ise to side, @aurds all be ages yet@ she mently saidwith a smile

Syracuse was correct. As they turned the corner there were indeed more cages. Unfortunately one was guarded with some heavily armed soldiers. They were currently observing the dragon inside, who was deep in thought.
Flames said nothing and didn't even glance at the others, as he silently turned into a fiery streak of colour, appearing behind both guards. His chest rose in and out as he breathed deeply and unleashed himself on the soldiers, his arms moving too fast for most eyes to see as he repeatedly hit various pressure points and nerves. A moment later and they both crumpled onto the floor.
"Stay back." He quietly ordered the caged dragon as he charged up his Ki...
"Enerugi-Tanma!"

The wall to the cell was blasted open by an energy blast mere seconds after Vince had been told stay back by someone outside.
He looked at the hole in the wall that the blast had created. "Thats a really useful ability you have there." He said while freeing himself from the chains he was bound with, and then crawled over the piles of rubble that were scattered from the blast.

Flames beckoned the dragon over to where the escapees all were. There might be a few more who needed rescuing before they could flee from this place...

Syracuse smirked. "Free him, that's it..." She murmured, flicking her tail as her delicate hearing picked up the winding of a charged tranq gun. "DUCK!" She hissed, knocking the dragon down and yanking flames down beside her as the tranquilizer whizzed past, missing them by an inch. "Geez.. That was close..."

she broke of her chain neck and started to tip toe round the coner when she felt a shuffer rac through the floor. she shok a bit and heard a clatter from above "what the heck"she growled

as luke and maxim proceeded through the prison luke heard a gun click a human guard was aiming at maxim just as she started turning the guard fired a tranquiliser but it didnt hit its target at the last instant luke had dived in front of maxim and was now on the floor half unconcience.

Flames would have thanked Syracuse, but there were more dire matters to attend to. His figure vanished again, his movements hard to follow as he dashed in and out of the shadows, knocking out any human he saw, heard or sensed. It might have been a trick of the light, but Flames feet rarely seemed to so much as touch the floor as he searched every little bit of the area for any more surprises.
Using Ki to enhance his movements may have allowed Flames to move at such speeds with relative ease, but that was not to say it wasn't tiring. If he had to launch any more Enerugi-Tanmas or use some of his more lethal techniques he would be seriously worn out. Flames mentally cursed his lack of stamina before thanking Syracuse.

She smiled at him, looking down at the dragon and holding her clean midnight paw out to him. "You're welcome. How long do you think he's been watched?" She asked, flicking her tail back and forth rhythmically.

He grabbed Syracuse's paw and pulled himself up. He was still a little bit overwhelmed by how fast things had changed, from being in chains a moment ago to the situation at hand. They had to get out, but there were still others locked up somewhere in the facility.
"Thanks", he then said to Syracuse, because if she hadn't been so quick to act, they would now be lying on the floor unconcious by now.

"Welcome. What's your name?" She asked, ducking again as a bolt flew over her head. She turned her head and snapped her fingers, making a shooing motion with her paw. "Be right there!" She hissed.
Maximus growled, throwing another bolt at Syracuse. When she looked over, she beckoned hurriedly. "Would you come on?! We've got to belt! Those Twolegs are goin' ta be here any minu'e!"

"The name's Vince", he replied while looking what Syracuse was doing.
He might as well go with the flow this time, because he had a better chance of escaping with others than by himself, he thought. Not that it also had its flaws but it was better than being chained in a cell... Those disscusting humans... What right did they have to capture us and use us as test subjects?.

She growled as it hit her in the back of the head. "GO AWAY!" She snarled, pulling Vince with her. "I'm Syracuse. Let's go find the others."

Marko rounds a corner, the escaped subjects coming into sight. He raises the arm-gun built into his suit and fires a sharp burst toward them, as a warning. In the lab on the other side of the castle, a group of humans watched through the security cameras. "So far so good," one says, Another, the oldest of the ones in the room shrugs. "I'm sure Marko will have a trick or two up his sleeve before we can call this a success."

Flames spun round suddenly, adopting a defensive stance, guarding the others. He spoke lowly, his cool, calm tone taking on a frozen edge as he stared intensely at the atacker: "Hurry on ahead, I'll keep him busy." Was all he said to the others behind him, handing some supplies he had been carrying to them as he weighed up the cybernetically enhanced being. This should be interesting...

"Will you be alright?" Vince asked Flames before starting to move on ahead. When he went behind Flames to move on further he froze stiff. "You!" He had just seen who the attacker was, because he hadn't had time see who it was earlier because of ll the madness around them. But now that he had, he hoped that he hadn't. He couldn't understand what he was doing here. It was insane! Why would he be here? And working for the humans. Vince just stood there without being able to move an inch. He was paralyzed still.

"You might want to move..." Flames suggested softly to the dragon, bringing him out of shock long enough for Flames to get him further away from harm. "This isn't going to be pretty, that's for sure..." Was the last thing he said before ge changed. His eyes zeroed in on his foe, cold and focused with a blaze licking the sides of his iris. His mind entirely concentrated on the task at hand, storing extra energy in certain muscles, charging up more Ki, preparing for when the next shot was fired...

Marko lines up his arm cannon for another burst, but seems to hesitate before he fires, and the shots stray left just enough to miss Vince. The sound of the armor striking the floor echos down the hall as he draws closer, his movements slower than they could have been. In the lab, a few of the more observant humans notice this.

Flames noticed the hesitation and slower movements, pondering on the connection between his foe and the escapee. It was an interesting thing to note, but he had more important things to be focusing on, like the large store of Ki he was gathering and his advancing foe.
Still charging his Ki and with energy flowing through his bloid into his muscles, Flames sped fowards, even faster than before. He didn't want to inflict too much damage, so a giant Ki blast was out of the question. Normal strikes wouldn't even dent the armour, even with Flames' strength. He instead charged his foe repeatedly from every angle, full-body tackling him no less than 360 times in a few mere seconds before unleashing a rapid assault of two-finger jabs on the weakest points in the armour, striking the same spots over and over in the exact same place. His body was barely visible, a blur appearing for split-seconds in different positions.
This was incredibly tiring and Flames was already starting to feel the burn. He reappeared in his starting position, waiting to gain his breath a tiny bit and see what effects he had unleashed. The cybernetically enhanced one had been knocked back quite a bit and his armour had a small, almost unnoticible cracks in a few weaker areas, but otherwise everything seemed relatively okay. This might take a while...

Marko's armor held up admirably, and it seemed he had fewer reservations against attacking THIS escapee. He raises his arm cannon, spraying in Flames' general direction. On the automatic setting a single shot would hardly be fatal, but the volume of fire was intimidating at least. The shots that missed Flames and the others, and there were bound to be plenty as Marko had yet to address a few flaws in the weapon, chipped away at the walls and showered the floor in chips of stone.
A few of the researchers watching in lab E-27 smirked. "And to think he worried about bugs in the system! He's going to tear them apart!" Edward Newman, the head researcher in the lab, sighed. "You idiot. He wouldn't have bothered testing the system if its flaws were obvious. And besides, we know it has its share of flaws. How else do you think we caught him?"

Flames was almost...disapointed. Almost. He decided that whilst a large Ki blast wasn't morally right to use, a smaller one, especially considering the slightly weaker status of the armour, should do the trick. Flames suddenly appeared right in front of Marko. He knocked Marko's arms to the side and placed both of his palms on his foe's chest. Flames may be running low on energy, but he currently had a healthy supply of Ki.
"Enerugi-Tanma Revised: Dual Palm!" And with that Flames thrust foward will all his might, the two spheres drilling into his foe before finally discharging their energy, sending Marko flying into the wall with a loud crash. Everyone else ran ahead, excluding Flames, who waited a moment to determine if Marko was still a major threat...

It had seemed like the world had stood still for a moment when Vince had seen Marko, but was quickly brought back from his thought by Flames who had pushed him aside. Vince had noticed Markos short hesitation, so he must have seen him.
While he was pushed away by the others who were running away from the battle Vince's thoughts had been left behind. The only thing that now went through his mind was that Flames didn't do to much damage to Marko, if so, Vince would never forgive himself for letting it happen. But he was sure about one thing. Marko was coming out of there with them, whether he wanted it or not!
But Vince had to have a plan before confronting Marko... If not, he might never get out of here alive... But it was a risk he was willing to take.

Marko crashed into the wall, his armor lodged in the stone. Damage to the suit was tolerable, but Marko did not escape unharmed. He took a moment to regain his bearings, but soon he raised his arm-cannon. A few panels opened, the gun reconfiguring itself from the machinegun to a cannon, a ball of energy charging in the barrel. The weapon locked on to Vince the second it was ready to fire, but he could not bring himself to shoot as the targets escaped dow the hall.
The scientists were hardly pleased. "Why didn't he shoot? Check the targeting systems, make sure the calibration is right." "Don't waste your time."

Flames wondered once more about why Marko wouldn't fire at Vince and what their history was. He quickly shook his head to clear his mind. He didn't wish to injure Marko, and didn't have enough energy remaining right now to continue fighting. Still, he had to ensure that he was no longer a threat, at least for the time being. There was a single opening, too small to really see what lay underneath the armour.
Flames dashed fowards one last time, darting to and fro to ensure that he wouldn't get hit. He thrust a single finger into the opening, injecting his remaining Ki directly into as many nerves and pressure points as possible.
If it had been successful, Marko wouldn't be able to pursue them for quite a while and if it didn't...well, that was why Flames was already hurrying away, heading towards Vince...

When Vince looked backwards he saw that Marko was aiming the cannon at him but still couldn't make himself shoot. This was good, he thought, because it was a sign that all hope wasn't lost yet.
He also saw that Flames was hurrying toward them now, after landing a final blow on Marko. But still Flames looked a bit worried. Well... on the other hand who wouldn't be in a place like this, but still...

"Are you coming?" Flames asked Vince with a slight hint of urgency trickling into his otherwise calm tone.

"Yes, I'm coming", Vince answered a bit halfheartedly and started running again with a last look towards Marko.

Vince seemed a bit hesitant and was running rather slowly. They would never catch up at this rate...
Flames sighed to himself and grabbed onto Vince, pulling him along at high speeds, the dragon's feet never touching the floor. Flames made certain that his grip was tight but not rough or uncomfortable for Vince as they came closer to the others ahead. It was going to be a long day...

Even through the suit the escaping furs could have heard Marko yelp at the final strike, collapsing onto the floor as the light showing the suits eyes faded and turned complletely black. The genius of Markos design, and one of its main flaws, was that the suit was directly connected to his nervous system, and as a result Flames' strike shorted out the suit for the time being. Slowly, he raises his arm to his helmet and begins pressing the manual release switches. It was not easy, given the weight of the suit and the fact that he was still in considerable pain and the fact that his favored hand was covered by the cannon, but he was determined.
"What the-? Why don't we have picture!? There's no way they could have destroyed the suit!" The technicians began to scramble, Newman simply looking smug behind the main console.

Flames' thoughts drifted back to Marko as he caught up with the other escapees. He hated having to inflict so much pain against him, although it was infinitely preferable to failing everyone or using one of his more dangerous attacks. This way Flames still had enough energy to flee, could regain said energy easier and didn't have to worry too much about Marko...for now.
It was a shame really. Flames sensed that the cybernetically enhanced fur could have been fighting better then he had been. If they had both been fighting at their best...That would have been interesting...

Vince didn't know what hit him when Flames grabbed him and went forward with high speed.
When they stopped Vince saw that they had reached the others, but still he couldn't help it that his mind was of wandering on it's own. He couldn't keep his focus on anything right now accept from Marko who was now lying somewhere behind them, and most likely in pain, because Vince thought that he had heard Marko yelp after that last blow.

"Are you okay?" Flames asked the dragon, noticing his lack of focus. "I'm sorry I had to do that all of a sudden, but you can't be too careful in this place." He paused before adding in a less serious tone: "He should be okay. I probably caused him a lot more pain then I meant to, but I'm certain that no permenant damage has been done..."

"I'm just a little bit shaken, thats all", Vince replied. He was also relieved that Flames hadn't done any serious damage to Marko, because he had been a little nervous abut the outcome of the battle, because Marcos suit was tough and he wouldn't give up that easily.

"If you ever want to talk, I'm always ready to listen with an open mind..." Flames said in his neutral/calm tone, injecting just the right level of friendliness into his words...

Marko manages to coax off his helmet and he tosses it off to the side. Slowly he starts to crawl, his armor still shut down and scraping on the floor. His sight was blurred and his eyes bloodshot, and despite his efforts he manages only about five feet before he lays still, panting. He rolls over and looks at his helmet, matte black with orange detailing around the eyes. With the last of his strength, he slams his arm cannon down on the floor.

Syracuse and Maximus were racing down the hall when a wheezing sound stopped them. "Oh crud...." Syracuse mumbled, pushing her cage-mate further on. "Go! I'll make sure you have a chance!" She ordered, pushing her harder as more metallic clicking noises came from her left. "I'll be up ahead in a minute! GO!"

"It's a long story" Vince said to Flames, "and complicated..." He then looked away from Flames to hide his tears.

"You don't have to say anything if you don't want to..." Flames said, placing his hand on Vince's shoulder. "Besides," He said with a slight smile. "Things like this should probably wait until a time when our lives aren't constantly being threatened..."

"Thanks", Vince replied and put his hand on Flames' which was still resting on his shoulder.
Vince then tried to pull himself together now but it still was a bit hard. All the memories had come rushing back to him in a flash and some of them were really hard to bear.

Marko lays panting on the floor, trying to think of a way to get the suit online without powering the main logic board, the part the humans had altered. Gods knew what Vince had thought seeing him here, and he could only hope his restraint had not gone unnoticed. He knew that if he removed the suit he could bypass whatever the humans had installed, but he just didn't have the strength. If only he could get Vince's attention. "That's it..." He raises his arm again, using the auxiliary power, meant to restart the suit if it failed, and fired a single cannon blast down the hall, hitting the wall near the floor.

Vince turned quickly around when he heard a blast from back were they had come from...
"What the...?" Vince thought out loud, but then it hit him. It had to be Marko!
Vince turned toward Flames and said, "I have to go... Don't ask me why, but I still have to."
Vince started running back towards Marko, and for the first time since he had been inprisoned, he was happy. He just hoped that Flames wouldn't try to stop him from going.

Flames just stood there for a moment, in deep concentration as he searched for his next course of action. He thought about the cybernetic suit, what the humans had been known to attempt in the past, the suit's current status, Vince's reactions and Marko's hesitation. He opened his eyes and was glad that he had learnt to meditate as it had cleared his mind enough for him to get a rough idea of the truth. Flames clenched his gloved fist for a moment, disgusted at what the humans had been doing, before running off after Vince, calling out that he was coming along to 'free' Marko...

Vince was a little suspicious about Flames intentions when he had started running after him and said that he was going to help. But he had bigger things on his mind, like getting to Marko.
Vince rounded a corner and then he saw Marko laying on the floor on the other said of the corridor. He picked up his speed and was soon beside him.

While the white fox ran past Marko, Flames and Vince, Syracuse was busy dodging attacks from a skeleton in the shape of a dragon. The tail it balanced on was covered in red stained bone spikes. The blackened bones that made the rest of its' body creaked as it moved like water, attacking her and parrying her blows. It's golden eyes were narrowed to tiny slivers of gold in a green-blue sea. Syracuse cursed under her breath. "Why won't you DIE?!" She yelled, slipping on a flap of skin it had dropped on purpose and landing hard on her face with a loud crack.
Maximus flinched when she heard the crack but kept running. Her white fur made her look similar to a ghost as she sped down the halls. Humans cringed from her and furs leaped to avoid being knocked over. She felt as if she were in training again. I.E: High school.

Marko manages a small wave to Vince as he runs toward him, closing his eyes when he felt the other was close enough. "Left shoulder, top access port..." The location of the suits 'brain', and what the humans had put in. He doubted it was a particularly good installation, mostly because his systems had been unusually glitchy, but it was still dangerous. For Marko, at least.

Vince helped Marko to sit up, before moving on to the shoulder. He then opened the access port and looked inside. "And now?", he asked.

Marko closes his eyes as he is moved, letting his head droop a bit. "Look for something that doesn't seem right. A shoddy solder job, human parts, something not supposed to be there."

Flames watched as Vince searched for the human implant, Marko's words confirming his suspicions. He looked back at all the nearby paths every so often, making sure that he was guarding both of them from anything the humans might send...

"Lets see now..." Vince looked a moment at all the wires and circuits before finding anything. "This doesn't seem right? There is something weird here..." Vince tried to touch it, but was electrocuted by it. "Ok, that sure isn't supposed to be there. Any ideas on how to get it out of there?"

Syracuse struggled to sit up and glared murderously at the Cylo. After a minute of silent insults, she made herself stand, pawing her nose to stem the flow of blood, and crouched on all fours, fur bristling. Her claws were extended as far as they would go, pearl white.

Marko thinks for a few moments. "Forget it. Could you just help me out of this thing? There should be a little blue switch in that panel somewhere." He looks like he wants to add something else, but pauses. His voice is low and soft when he finally does speak. "And I... I'm sorry... For everything..."

Flames' ears twitched and he vanished, scouring the nearby area for enemies or threats. Seeing none, he returns to his original position, an ominous feeling in his spine...

Vince held his emotions until he had found the switch and pulled it. When he had helped Marko out of the suit, he couldn't hold back anymore. He hugged Marko and kept him tight against himself. "It doesn't matter anymore... You're here now and it's all that matters..."
Vince was crying, but they weren't tears of sorrow, but of happiness.

Was crying too, and he buried his head in Vince's shoulder to try and hide it. A bad time for worrying about his pride, but he hated others seeing him cry. His tears were part sorrow, part happiness, part something he couldn't place. "C'mon, let's get out of here." He starts to pull away from Vince but stops, reaches behind him, and does something to the suit. "Alright, let's go."

Maximus glanced around, afraid to go back and face her master's wrath but she had that feeling her master needed her. This was one of those rare occasions that she hated. She couldn't help because her master had ordered her not to but she felt she must. The feeling got stronger as it suddenly got eerily silent.
The motion the Cylo made with its electric blue claws Syracuse knew well. She ducked quickly, just in time for a blast of white hot light to zip over her head. Time stopped as the skeletal dragon clicked in frustration. Syracuse threw her legs down as she shot up into the air and sailed above it, landing on the other side. Her claws clicked softly. Grumbling silently, she fell flat to the floor in a rapid dance to dodge most of its' attacks.
The Cylo snarled, puffing out another blast of its' deadly breath. "Thee art hopeless, get on thy knees and beg forgiveness, Mortala." It growled, shaking its' muscle-less head. Its' voice resembled her best friends and it sent chills down the midnight wolfs' back. It slashed at her, snarling as she dodged it easily. The fire in its' eyes brightened.
"Crecto, go back where you came from. Those idiots have not treated you right since you returned. How much do they pay you to do their dirty work, hm?" She teased, toughening herself to withstand a few more minutes for Flames, Vince, and Max's sakes. "You never were smart enough to remember who taught you how to live, were you?" She taunted, smirking.
'Crecto' snarled louder, slashing again. He smiled himself as he caught her side and opened the scars there once more. "Hast thou learnt nothing from thy last brush with me? Mine powers outdo thine. Thou art tired yet?" He taunted back, slashing at her chest. The feeling of an impending victory made him get a little cocky as he left her more chances to retaliate.
She jumped, landing on his bony back. Digging her claws into his vertebrae, she made him yelp in pain. "Eat that, Crecto. You're still a fool." She snarled, free falling from his back to land on her butt with a thunk! She winced from the growing pain and stood up. "You won't win this round, love. Face it, I won again. Admit it and I'll set you free of those Twolegs. We can go rescue Annabeth together."
She yelped in surprise when she felt a blow to her ribs, knocked clean off her feet from the blow itself. She cringed, knowing it as far worse for her master. "Please, Syracuse..Don't die..." She begged softly, clasping her hands together in a pleading gesture. She looked around, contemplating what to do.

luke squinted as a sudden rush of light entered his eyes he then realised he had been put back into a cell and is weapon was on the table on the opposite side of the room he then remebered the microphone he slipped into syracuses ear and tried to call her he spoke into the mic saying "syra can you hear me?"

"Hey! Wait up!" Vince said playfully and starts running back to Marko who had went on a little in front him. "By the way, what did you do to the suit?"

Flames kept pace with the pair, wanting to remain nearby. It wasn't because of a lack of trust or anything similar, he just had to remain with them for now...

Marko smirks, stopping a moment to rub his eyes. "Let's just not be here in about two minutes. And remind me to do something with the screens on the next version." He turns to Vince and smiles. "It's been a while, hasn't it."

"It sure has." Vince couldn't quite remember how log it had been, but it sure was a while. "Well then... Shall we?"
Vince grabbed Markos hand and started running.
He was sure that Flames would keep up but it would be nice for them to have a moment for themselves. Without Flames looking... And hearing. There was so much to talk about, but so little time at the moment...

Marko drags behind a little, still somewhat sore from the Fox's attack, but does his best to keep pace. As they round a corner, he yanks Vince to a side, punches a few numbers into a code panel, then slips into a dark room, assuming Vince wanted a place to hide out. "You coming?"

There was no doubt about it this time, Flames had definately heard something behind them. He dropped back and got into one of his meditative positions, trying to sense the foe's life energy...
There was definately something coming, but Flames couldn't sense any life energy coming from it. He focused harder, his mind set entirely upon the object of his focus. His crimson eyes suddenly snapped open as he adopted a defensive stance. "I'll buy everyone as much time as I can..." Were his last thoughts as he changed his mindset, ready to engage the approaching machine in combat...

"Right behind ya."
He walked into the room and closed the door before Flames got there. "Finally just the two of us... This brings back memories."
Vince looked at Marko for a while. "You sure haven't changed in all this time," he smiled.

Marko smirks. "Let's see if I can find the lights in here." He starts into the dark room, following the wall. "So what have you been doing? Aside from escaping, I mean?" He hits another wall, and begins following that. "And I'm... sorry for shooting at you. I don't know what those humans did, but..."

"I was devastated when you left, you might remember the last days before you left... It wasn't easy to get over it...
After a while i started to travel and see new places. I thought that it might help, but everything just reminded me of you... All the good times we had had."
Vince wiped away his tears before Marko found the light switch.
"When I had been all over the world I must have been captured by the humans and brought here. It's all kinda blurry, because of all the tranquilaizers. I even lost track of how long I've been here. They might have moved me here pretty recently because it looks a bit different than the last place I was in...
And that leads me here. To you.
As for the part where you tried to shoot me... I think I can live with that. Just try not to get yourself into a mess like that again. It's good that they didn't have full control over you thou."

Marko keeps sweeping the walls for the light switch. "Trust me, this job was a mistake from the start. And I wish I'd never left... for so many reasons... I was building a new version of the suit in my spare time, the one I just rigged back there, when a couple of humans found out about it. They dragged me up here, tried to make me build another. I refused. It gets fuzzy after that..." His hand runs over the lightswitch, but he keeps going till he finds Vince, planting a long kiss on his muzzle as he hits the light switch, completely expecting to get shoved away. Still, if he didn't say this now, he might not get a chance.

Markos kiss took Vince by surprise, but he sensed that Marko wasn't expecting to be warmly welcomed back after all this time.
Vince took a hold of him and pushed him just a little bit away from himself. "You know that you're not going to get away with it that easily..." Vince looked serious, "It's going to take a lot more than that to get me back." With saying that Vince pulled Marko towards himself and kissed him on the lips. It was better than he had remembered.

Marko expected the shove to be a bit more forceful, but what happened after that left his speechless. Marko's bright idea to get a job with a human company had torn them apart, and it had been all his fault. Not to mention he had been trying not to kill him just a few moments ago! He was amazed he was not in some kind of pain!

As she struggled to her feet once more, she retreated, still taunting him. Her midnight tail swished calmly behind her. Her magnetite claws were dripping blood slowly onto the floor from her scratching herself by accident when she landed on her butt earlier.

Two words came to mind as the large mech turned towards Flames and aimed a large quantity of weapons at him: "How Cliché..."
The mech fired multiple mini-missiles from its 'shoulders', peppered the ground with vulcan cannon fire and scorched the walls with some sort of basic particle beam weapon. This was going to be 'pleasant'...

He dodged a split claw attack and managed to make her stagger backward. "Thou hast won naught. Thy strength is giving so thou art parting. Whilst thou join us?" He asked, picking her up easily and squeezing her a little. "Thy powers will be tripled if thee chooseth right." He moved his face closer to her, hissing clouds of smoke into hers.
She glared at him and coughed up blood. "Over my dead body!" She spat, clawing the bone angrily. Since he wouldn't let go, she did the next best thing; spit her blood into his eyes. "Let me go!" She screeched, landing on her feet silently when he finally loosened his grip to rub his eyes.
He snarled in pain and anger, reaching blindly to grab her but she wasn't where she'd been a second ago. Roaring in agitation, he slammed his tail into the floor, leaving a long crater in the shape of his tail behind as he raised it again. "Where art thou, childish Mortala?" He growled, twisting his head this way and that, golden eyes stained a sickly orange-yellow.

"I just can´t stay mad at you...And... I think that Flames did damage enough to you earlier." Vince kissed Marko again.
"How in the whole world could I stay mad at you, now that you're here?..." He whispered into his ear.

Marko smirks. "Not to rain on your parade, but shouldn't we keep escaping?" Of course, the walls weren't particularly thick, so the sound of the gunfire, missile launches, and lasers was clearly audible. "On second thought, let's stay in here..."

Happy wasn't a word that any sane person would describe Flames as currently being. They might have said that he was insanely calm and relaxed for his situation, and they would have been right. Flames was screwed. He knew he was screwed. He was still tired from fighting Marko and this mech was rather powerful. Throw in the truly stupid amount of weaponry attacking him and how narrow each dodge of his was, and you might start to see the problem.
"...I've gotta...*pant*...keep the others safe...*wheeze*...anyway I can..." He mumbled aloud, constantly having to move to avoid the mech's over-enthusiastic attempts to kill/capture him. Even so, far too many skimmed him, causing him great pain as blood slowly dripped onto the floor...

"Yeah, I think that the others should manage for a while more. So... where were we? Oh yeah." Vince starts kissing Marko a little here and there, while still keeping him close.
Vince had missed the closeness with Marko so long that he wasn't going to stop anytime soon if he wouldn't have to. He was going to take everything out of the moment as long as it lasted. Though aware of the battle outside, he didn't want to stop now, despite that they still had to get out of there...

Marko embraced the relative safety of the utility closet for now, deciding to make up for lost time. The only thing that had kept him going while the humans had been doing Gods knew what to him was the hope that he could just tell Vince he was sorry, and with that out of the was they had some time to catch up on.

She slipped on a tile stained with her blood and fell onto her face, blacking out instantly. Her fur seemed to lose its shine as she lay there, her breath whistling through her nose and mouth.
He stopped moving at the crack. His nose told him she was dead but he refused to believe that.
After the second crack, she decided against her masters' word and headed back.

Vince looked at Marko lovingly. "Just out of curiosity... How on earth did they manage keep you here all this time? Because I don't think that you staid here out of your own free will. And you can be a bit stubborn at times, which surely didn't make the job easy for them."

Marko nods, his smile fading slightly. "Well, at first they told me they were just doing research, but I bought that for all of ten minutes. After that I don't know..." He shrugs. "It all gets kind of fuzzy until about fifteen minutes ago... What about you? I can't imagine you made it easy for them." The fox smirks slightly.

"That's true. I really thrashed the last place I was in... Not that it matters, but they really did have a handful with me. I think it took them 4 or 5 tranquilaicers just to take me down that time.
After that they moved me here and put me into a high containment cell with guards watching all the time, and if it wouldn't be for Flames id most likely still be dangling there..." The dragon laughs a bit at the irony of it. "If they hadn't moved me here we might never have met again... I should actually thank them for that, because were back together again thanks to that."

She smelled the Cylo and her nose burned. The next sight was her master flat on the floor, out like a light. She howled in anguish, drawing the skeletal dragons' attention. "What did you do!?" She thundered, leaping at him.
He snorted as she leapt at him, confused why so many furries were popping up where only one had been. This one smelled vaguely familiar. "Who be thee?"

"Well at least those humans are good for something... We really ought to get out of here, though. Even if the suit did-" The sound of an explosion would have been obvious to Vince and Marko, and Flames and his attacker would have been much closer. "Well that was louder than I expected..."

"Jeesh... How much explosives did you put into that thing?! That suit was a ticking time bomb and you were walking around in it! What if it had exploded while you were in it?!" Vince tried to calm himself down, but the shock that Markos suit was rigged that much was astounding. It would have made a good trap for the scientists but that he had actually been walking around in it was pure madness. "What if there would have been a damaged wire or something else would have been malfunctioning, what then?!
Vince couldn't believe that Marko had put his own life at risk like that. One false move and the suit might have blown up on him!

Marko smiles and presses a finger to the dragons lips and leans in, speaking in a low whisper. "First of all, there were no explosives. I overloaded the core, and to do that I had to bypass every safety feature I put in it and short out a half dozen minor systems. And if the suit takes enough damage for that to happen while someone is inside it they have bigger problems, because they are probably already dead. And just so you know, as cute as you getting this worked up over me is, I have things pretty much under control. Except for the hiding in a storage room part."

Her lips pulled back in a snarl as she fell short. "I be Maximus, thy victims' servant. How dare thee harm her!" She shouted, slashing feebly at him. Her claws slipped harmlessly across his bones and she sobbed.
This one's behavior was ever confusing. It'd been too long since he'd been around furries and he was paying for it now. He reached over and picked her up, cradling her close to his face, taking a huge risk to try to calm her down a little. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... Thou art too young to be a slave."

"Figures." Vince had calmed down now... Or atleast almost.
"So... any ideas on how to get out of this place? Because things might get a little bit hot in here with all the fighting. And fresh air would also be a nice change."

The fox backs away, though just slowly enough to seem reluctant. "The vents cliche enough for you?" Sure, he had all the door codes, but this just seemed like more fun.

"Thy memory serves thee no purpose, I see. Thou art younger than me, yet thou decideth to telleth me vhat I am too young vor. Thee hast no knowledge of mine hardships." She spat, struggling to push him away.

He looked at the vent cautiosly. "Well, there is a first time for everything... You sure they'll hold?" Vince walked over to where Marko was standing and took his hand. "Let's just hope that that we wont run into trouble in there, because it is kinda small..."
Vince tried to look at the bright sides of it, they would avoid fights and if Marko went in first he would he a nice view atleast.

The fox does go first, a bit less cramped than Vince would be. "Sorry if this is kind of a tight squeeze." The vents may not be the best idea, but he doubted they would run into any humans, at least. Slowly, he crawls through the ducts. "Ugh, they were never this dirty in the movies..."

It sure was a tight squeeze... But it wasn't impossible.
"Did you think that anyone would actually bother to clean up this place? Humans tend to get a bit lazy about things like this... Well, there is nothing we can do about it now, so it's just best to keep crawling."

after hearing a large explosion she stoo stil whilst rubbing her beeding ar . the flicked her ers up at the sound of voices "what the he.."she muttered as her eys traveled across the room and came to rest on a nting system blocked of by some boxs. sshe smiled "smart...very smart" she smiled even more when she realised they were coming towrds her direction

Marko stops for a moment, thinking he sees an opening in the shaft ahead, and a figure beyond that. "Who-" No sooner had he opened his mouth than a burst of rounds cut through the vent ahead of him, sending Markos segment of the vent falling to the floor of a hallway below. Looming over him is a human wearing a suit very similar to the one Marko had been using earlier. Marko only saw one thing to do, and hoped Vince would not kill him for it. The human saw the fox burst from the vent and grabbed him by the throat, tossing him a wall. Marko fell to the floor unconscious, a crimson streak visible on the wall, and the human took aim with his weapon.

Vince didn't know what just happened, but the segment of the vent in front of him had fallen down. Then suddenly he heard a thump from something hitting the wall... Vince tried to crawl towards the edge as quiet as he could so that he wouldn't be noticed.
When there he saw a human in a similar suit as Markos on he had just blown up. Vince's mind raced. He never told that there were more of them! This really wasn't good. Then the human started to take aim at something that Vince couldn't see, but he had a pretty good guess what it was. If he just could move a little forward... Vince thought, then he could drop down behind him, but he time was running out of time!
If he dropped the loose part of the vent in just the right time he would get some seconds more time, but putting himself in danger too, or then he might just drop down in front of the human and take him by suprise, but would put himself in the line of fire before getting the time to do anything.
The human was tightening his grip around the trigger. Time was running out!

He kept hold of her, confused. "Thee dost want to be with her? Thou canst wish such a fate on thyself."
She growled in defiance, slashing uselessly at him. "Ja, I vish to be vith her. She is my master. I careth for her dearly."

The human is about to fire, but instead he grabs Marko, lifting him up again. He was much more gentle this time, though he held the limp body of the fox, pulling it to his face. "Ironic, isn't it? Your greatest triumph is what's going to kill you. Well, that's not entirely true, we did deviate a little from your schematics, tuned up the strength amplifiers, enhanced the weapons... and to think you're not hearing any of this." He gives Marko a light shake, then presses his gun to Markos chest. "Ah well, time to die."

Vine saw his chance to come down, and dropped down from the went silently. He had seen the human move towards Marko, so he had to move fast, but when he looked towards the human holding Marko he didn't even have time to think what to do because the human was mere seconds from shooting him in the chest!
Vince kicked the human in the side so that he hopefully would loose his balance.
Unfortunately he wasn't sure about how strong the suit would be, because it might be better than the one Marko had been using, so he put all of his strength into the kick and hoped that the human would at least let go of Marko and concentrate on him instead... Because it would at least buy them some more time.

she yelped as she saw the vent fold in and growled angrily when she saw the human assult the kiyoti, she raced forward to grab the gun of the human following up with a kick to the never regions"sorry£ she panted "always wanted to do that"

The human turned towards Vince and let go of Marko.
Well... at least I got his attencion away from Marko, Vince thought. Now lets see if that suit is as tough as everyone thinks.

The human takes aim for the dragon, sending a burst of rounds in Vinces direction after knocking the other attacker off his gun. The kicks had done little damage, though the dragon had managed to dent the armor. This weapon was noticably different from the one Marko had used, its shots spaced but vastly more powerful. As he lined up his shots Marko jumped onto the humans back, opening a panel and tearing out bunches of wires. "Get off me you mutt!" The human reaches for Marko, grabs him, and throws him to the floor. Marko yelps, laying where he fell, his fur shining crimson in patches. The human takes aim at Marko again and pulls the trigger.
His gun doesn't fire.

Vince had just enough time to evade the burst of rounds that came from the humans gun, but some of them were able to scratch him. But when he turns back towards the human he sees him just about to fire at Marko. "No!"
It was an automatic reaction to shout because he thought that it was over for Marko, but then he saw that the gun didn't fire. Thank god, he thought. Then he sees the open panel in the back of the suit, there were some wires torn out. So thats why it didn't fire, good thinking Marko, he thought and takes aim for the panel as long as the human is wondering why the gun hadn't fired.
He runs towards the panel and when he comes close enough he thrusts his claws as had as he can into all the wires and other mechanics in the panel. That should do it, he thought to himself and pulls out some more wires as he takes out his claws.

The human shouts as the dragons claws tear through his suit, a half-dozen systems much more vital than his weapon shorting all at once. Several other panels on his back blow out, smoke and fire pouring out. The human staggers away and manages about six steps before he falls on his face.
Meanwhile, Marko was clearly going to be out for a while. Disabling the humans weapon had taken the last of his strength, so he could only hope that Vince had taken down the suit. It had obviously been based on his designs, but he was sure the humans 'upgrades' would have made it more vulnerable. His suit had been designed to be as powerful as possible without blowing up on him, and the humans had probably made their version less stable. If Vince could land one or two good hits, that should destabalize it. And if not?

Vince lets out a sigh of relief when the human crashes down on the floor. "Serves him right."
He now turns his attencion towards Marko who lies uncontious on the floor. He lifts him up so that he is resting towards the wall. Vince then sits down beside him and puts his arm behind his neck and wipes of some of the blood from from his face.

He lifted her up some to peer at her limp form, wondering why she all of a sudden stopped moving. "C'est dead?" He wondered, shaking her a little. "Little One, thee must awaken. Thy master is alive..." Mumbling, he set her don beside the fallen midnight wolf, adjusting her into a good position so when she woke up, she wouldn't hurt herself.
Syracuse grunted and gasped in pain, shooting to a sitting postion then falling back into the postion she'd been in with a thump! "What the--?" She asked herself, rubbing her head as she eased herself into a leaning sit. "MAXIMUS!!" Shouting, she rolled over to her unconscience servant and shook her hard, hoping she was still alive.

Marko mumbles quietly as Vince cleans him off. Most of it seems to be in no particular language or too soft to be understood, but at least its a good sign. Unfortunately, Marko can't warn Vince that the human suit might explode like he had made his had. The human suit was much less stable, and the dragon had really done a number on it.
And of course, Marko had no way of thanking Vince for saving his life.

Vince hears Marko mumble something that he doesn't understand. "It's OK you'll be just fine now... Oh crap!" He slaps himself in the forehead because he just remembered that the suit might explode like Markos had because it had sustained so much damage. They had to get away from there as fast as possible.
He starts to lift up Marko so that he is leaning towards his shoulder. When done he starts of towards the other of the corridor, away from the suit. But it was going too slow, and he didn't know how much time they had before the suits core would explode.

Picking her up, Syracuse struggled to stand without the floor rushing up to slam into her stomach. Her heart was hammering with fear as she picked up footsteps. "^%&#!!" She cursed, annoyed at her weak state. "Move it! Don't let those horrid Twolegs catch you!" She urged herself, digging her claws desperately into the tiles to get a footing that just wouldn't come.

"Please...Just let me have a few steps out of here before I collapse and we have no hope of survival..." She pleaded the angel standing before her. "Ahaj, I really need to watch over her, she's my only friend...Please?"
The angel nodded once, started to fade and commanded in a deep monotone; "Don't disappoint me, I won't let this come again if you fail. Keep her safe or roast in hell." Then Ahaj was gone.
"Yea, yea. Promises, promises..." She grumbled, finally catching a grip on the floor and raced out, ignoring the fire sent from her legs as they pumped.

Flames staggered about, clutching his head as his vision slowly returned to him, piece by piece. "Why did that thing have to launch its more explosive attacks at the same time the suit exploded?" Flames thought as he cleared his head and surveyed his surrondings:
Most of the area around him was craters and rubble, although the corridors in the distance where undamaged. A huge pile of what had once been part of the ceiling lay before him, parts of the machine he had been fighting poking out, motionless like everything else nearby...
Had Flames been in better shape, he may have heard sounds in the distance, sounds of the others. Instead he was focusing on his hand as he tried to estimate how much energy and how much Ki he had left. He stared at his palm expectantly, but nothing happened. No orbs, no sparks, not even a slight flicker. He cursed himself, weighing up his options. He couldn't use any Ki, he was in no state to fight and his left arm had gone numb. He only had enough energy to run right now, and even that would be painful, at least until he focus himself again...

"We have to get away from here right now! That suits going to blow up any minute now from all the damage its sustained!"
With Maxis help they managed to pick up the pace and round a corner just in time before the suit blew up. "Phew... That was a close one..." Vince put down Marko so that they might rest for a while, hopefully...

The fox shakes his head, the sound of the explosion waking him somewhat. "...Vince? What are you doing here?" He looks around, his eyes moving from the floor to the walls to the ceiling, and shakes his head. Slowly Marko tries to get to his feet, managing two shaky steps before he falls over, catching the wall and lowering himself back to the floor. "What happened?" He shakes his head again, trying to pull himself together, but everything just feels too hazy.

Flames was starting to wish that he hadn't adopted a weaponless fighting style a few years ago. If he had still got one of his old blades, he might have been able to stop the human's machinery faster and avoid injury. He almost felt a longing for his blades, his old friends. The X-Sabre, Usuakari and Crimson Shinigami...He had fought well with them all at one point or another...
Flames shook his head as he slowly moved away from all the rubble. All of that was in the past and didn't matter anymore. He had become more versatile by adopting his current style and he had gotten far with it. He would need to put faith in it if he was to survive...

"All you need to know now is that everything is fine for now. You should rest for now, because you got beaten up pretty badly back there." He sits down beside Marko and puts his arm around him. "You concentrate on getting your strength back and I'll protect us."
He then kisses him lightly on the cheek and whispers into his ear: "You were great back there."

As things start to come back to him, Marko smirks. "Well, I know you fight better when you don't have time to overthink things." The fox gives standing another shot, but can not even make it to his feet this time. He settles back down next to Vince, leaning on him. "And thanks for not getting mad."

"No problem." He leans his head on Marko and relaxes for a bit.
"Though you might want to warn me before doing anything foolish again", he says playfully.

The fox smiles. "Actually, I was just about to ask you to never let me something that stupid again." He gives Vince a quick peck on the muzzle. "Just remember they blow up if you break them." Marko finally notices the girl, and he can not help but think he had seen her before. "Who are you?"

He also remembers the girl when Marko asks who she was. "This is... Well... Who are you actually? We never had the time to introduce ourselves to each other in all that commotion earlier."
Vince puts his arm around Marko while he looks at the girl now standing in front of them.

luke awoke in a dark cell and thought to him self great back to square one he checked to see if he was still alive and just as he thought he was ok he had a chunk missing off his ear he thought ok noty too baduntil he noticeda furry standing outside his cell he thought for a second and said "they cant have..."

she smiled and winked "my names Maxi, very nice to meet you"and held out here paw. then she remebered luke and that she better get back to helping him out. she explained it to the other two hoping theyd help her out

"What do you think Marko? You're the one who should know this place best." He looked at him lovingly when he spoke. "And we should either way start moving away from here before more guards come this way."

luke was slightly taken back by the reply but continued cassually asking questions "whats your name?"

luke knew at that second he was the humans experement he thought he'd better not show his surprise "thats a shame" he said lowering his ears

Syracuse struggled to continue running, the fatigue was catching up as several alarms were going off in her head. "Please...Maximus, wake up..." She pleaded, falling onto one knee, exhausted.
He'd been following her since she'd run off, watching in wonder as she continued to battle the thought that she would die here like all the other nearly worthless experiments. He sighed sadly, wishing he could help but his masters would never let him. His head rattled as someone started speaking softly: 'Crecto, find the lost experiments and bring them to me, I want to know why they fight so hard for freedom they will never have.' THis one was male but it carried a soft note of concern. This was a new master, he could feel it, meaning his old master was dead. He nodded his head, 'Yes, Master.'
She couldn't shake that she was being watched but she didn't care. All she wanted was for her loyal servant to wake up and say or do something. "Maximus, you were so brave, and strong, and loyal...Don't leave me here all alone..." She murmured, stroking the cold cheek of her only friend.
Through the cold darkness, she could suddenly feel something warm touching her. She wished she could speak, desperately wanting to talk to whoever was struggling to bring her back to the living but there was some kind of barrier holding her mouth shut. She roared in annoyance, knowing she would remain silent until her Master came back. "Master...." She whispered inside her prison, hoping without any hope that she would hear her. Desperately, she needed to hear her voice again, her only light, her heaven in Hell.

Marko makes it to his feet with a little help from Vince, and closes his eyes for a moment. "Holding cells... Two floors down, corridor four. Probably guarded." The fox takes a few steps forward, keeping a paw on the wall next to him. "Yeah, I can make it."

"You sure about that?" Vince asked, seeing that he was still moving little clumsily. "Just hold on to me and it might be easier, besides it'll take longer if you're going to have to lean against a wall the whole way there."

The fox nods, putting an arm around Vince's shoulder and leaning on him, resting his head on the dragons shoulder. He closes his eyes again and smoles. "So what are we waiting for?"

"Nothing I guess. But make sure that you wont do anything wreckless when we get to the cells." Vince looks at Marko beggingly. "Please..."

Flames suddenly halted as scrapings and whirrings were heard behind him. He froze and slowly turned around to see the machine move from underneath the rubble, circuitry exposed and lights randomly flashing. "...This can't be good..." Flames thought aloud as the rubble suddenly fell away to the mech raising itself up, huge chunks of its body torn away to reveal its interior workings. Several large peices of armour were fired off at Flames, who only just managed to jump and roll out of the way. The human's mech made a few odd noises as it rattled and suddenly lifted of the ground, powerful underbelly jets propelling it off the ground as it primed its weapons once more, its barely functioning CPU targetting the injured anthro.
Meanwhile, in a secure room rarely used by the humans, a small group of researchers were observing their mech's and the anthro's progress, a mixture of expressions on their faces. One's face was filled with pride that her new structural designs had worked so well, another was worrying about the damages and another was looking oddly thoughtful. The last one remained in the corner, half hidden in shadow, the screen they were all staring at being the only active source of light. "The escapee is surely doomed. It is in no condition to run, let alone fight. Capture is assured." One said in a monotone voice as they watched the object of their attention duck and weave out of the way, grimacing in pain as he was forced to roll, leap, dive and wall jump out of the way. At this the one in the shadows simply smirked and said quietly, but loud enough for the others to easily hear: "Don't judge Project AX666-Zero so soon..." A slight trace of sneering pride was heard as he continued, even quieter: "The show has yet to begin."
At this the others just frowned and talked amongst themselves, excluding one, who suddenly turned very white and fainted as the memories of Project AX666-Zero returned to him...

Marko smirks. "I don't think I could if I wanted to." He starts down the hall, pulling Vince to follow. "The stairs should be just around the corner."

As Flames came closer and closer to collapsing, he felt something stir in him. The cool barrier of calm that he had created around the centre of his being began to melt as blood rushed around his body at insane speeds. Memories and pain flooded his conciousness until he could take no more, finally blacking out, mumbling out only one word: "Sorrow..."
The researchers threw sneering looks at the one who remained in shadow, commanding the mech to capture the downed anthro. They watched in anticipation as the mech drew closer and armed a capturing device, standing right next to the unconcious Flames. The figure in the shadows saw this and grinned an evil smile, saying two words calmly to the others: "Wrong move." No sooner then the words escape his mouth and the anthro had vanished, standing with his back turned to them many metres away. He slowly turned around to face the camera, revealing the twisted face of Project AX666-Zero. His glowing, pulsating eyes narrowed, almost as if he could see the humans observing him before summoning an eerie aura around him. The last image the mech's camera got before if suddenly cut to static was of a dark shape flying towards them. The beast was awake...

She yelped, clutching her side as it throbbed in pain. Pulling her hand away, she noticed it was sticky with cold blood. Syracuse whined, throat raw.

The humans all turned around in unison to face the one in shadow, who had an odd look of pride on his face. "Explain yourself Dr. Alpha! That project you were working on was nothing more than a tiny experiment which produced an ordinary anthro body. How do you explain this!?" One demanded, gesturing at the static on the screen.
Dr. Alpha simply chuckled and stepped slightly closer. "I'm afraid that's classified information, you blundering bundle of neurons. But I can tell you this much: Just because the body is nothing out of the ordinary and may be somewhat weak compared to the other projects...ZERO is the only one with a specifically implanted mind and spirit. ZERO is capable of tapping into a power so great the last user was sentanced to eternal damnation and torment...or so the tales go..." They researchers just frowned at this as the one who had fainted slowly returned to conciousness before suddenly leaping to his feet and grabbing Dr. Alpha by the collar, his face white, before bellowing in Alpha's face:
"Alpha! Do you mean to tell me that ZERO is the artificial re-incarnation of the anthro warrior of legend, HoKaze no Flames!? Didn't you higher ups read the tablets regarding the legend we excavated from the unidentified ruins? If ZERO isn't captured soon and regains his memories of his first life..."
Dr. Alpha simply shrugged the smaller scientist off before approaching a console and entering a series of commands, causing a timer to appear on the monitor. "That's correct you stupid hectopascal! If ZERO is not stabilised soon, either through the awakening of Flames or by defeat at the hands of us...the apocalypse foretold in legend shall occur once more!"
Project AX666-ZERO was currently floating above a crater where only a few seconds ago there had been a dangerous mech trying to capture him. ZERO slowly looked around, almost as if he was seeing the world for the first time. He growled as countless foreign senses reached his brain and he struggled to comprehend it all, trying to block out the voice in his head, trying to stop the noise. ZERO didn't want to return to the void he had been in before. He didn't want to be imprisoned in that void called the subconcious again, allowing Flames free reign. No...ZERO had a mission to do. He lowered his aura and concentrated on the cloudy memory, unable to make out anything but an echoing voice: "...Fighting is all..."

Flames opened his eyes, slowly stepping out of his meditative position. The dark swirling pit that formed ZERO's and Flames' subconcious was very disorientating and seemed to trick all 5 senses, throwing you of balance if you thought to much about it.
Flames had tried to reach out and contact ZERO, but his attempt had failed. All his meditative techniques could do in this empty, soul-draining pit was calm him and give him the occasional glimpse at what ZERO was doing. Still, Flames wasn't one to give up and he'd rather die then let ZERO destroy everything...With this thought echoing around him, Flames ran off into the swirling void, destination unknown...

Marko starts down the stairs on his own, leaning heavily on the walls of the stairwell. His legs were still weak and his balance was just starting to come back to him, but he made it to the floor they were trying to reach. Looking back at the dragon he smiles. "You coming?"

"I'm coming." Vince came down the stairs while looking up now and then to make sure that they weren't followed.
"Can you make it on your own, or do you still need some help?" He asks Marko, making sure that he wouldn't tire himself too much.

she looked owrriedly at the shadow, it looked slightly human...whoops, had they just bumped into a hyuman or worse... then she heard the clatter of keys as some human came in for the daily check.

Marko smirks. "I could use some help, I just needed to get you to hurry." He looks out the doorway into the hall beyond, then looks back up the stairs. "Where'd the girl go?"

Luke burst out in laughter

"you taking the humans side its SO pathetic!" luke said still half laughing
at that moment the experiment lashed out in rage at luke smashing the fiber glass wall.
"thanks!" luke shouted escaping the cell block just before it was sealed off.

luke was sneaking around outside the block when he heard a familiar voice "maxim is that you?" he wispered suddenly he heard a loud bang and felt a sharp pain in his ear he then dived toward maxim and shot back at the human before saying calmly to her "hello how are you"

she coughed slightly and smeared blood of her t-shirt "been better" *hugged* just glad your ok..shall we get going then" she gestured towards the door to where the other two were waiting

"OK lets go" luke said reaching up to check his ear suddenly he froze when he noticed a hole in his ear he heard the injured guard start to get up he turned to maxim and said look away now. in a fit of rage he picked the guards gun up pinned him against the wall and shot him between the eyes.

Vince looked up as he suddenly heard a gunshot from where Maxi had went. He gave Marko a distressed look before running off into the next corridor. When he ran into the corridor with Marko following him, Vince saw Maxi standing outside one of the prison cells.
He ran quickly up to her, and let out a sigh of relief when he saw that she hadn't been in the receiving end of the bullet.
He then looked into the cell and quickly turned his head away after seeing Luke release the guard he had just killed. Vince gave Marko a quick look before walking away from the open door to the cell. "You don't want to see that..."

"Ugh, I need to find a new suit..." He ran into Vince, who had stopped right in front of him, and smiles at his words. "Always watching out for me." Sarcasm, but affectionate sarcasm. He followed Vince, the gunshot telling him all he needed to know.

Flames ducked and weaved, attempting to dodge the fury of assaults directed at him. Panting slightly, he was almost beggining to regret his descision to explore the void of ZERO's subconcious. He looked up and backflipped just as one of the figures swiped its claws at him, missing him by mere inches. Indeed, this was not exactly Flames' favourite place to be...
Meanwhilst, ZERO was about to go and investigate the noises occuring in the distance when something gently hit his back. He turned around to see a very brave or very foolish human weilding some sort of cannon, a look of intense determination on his face. This amused ZERO as the human continued to fire, the shots barely making a mark on their target. A few seconds later there was a horrible splatter on the floor and blood on the walls...

"im not nervous..." she pouted and flattened out her skirt,"come on..we besst be going before..." there was a sudden clang as the door was thrown open and humans seemed to pour through the open doorway bristling guns and what looked horribly like a tazer..."yeah lets go" she shouted and stared pulling at Lukes sleeve and pushed the other two towards the door

ZERO didn't bother glancing at the remains of the courageous human or to return to his normal route. Instead he landed and strode onwards, almost as if following a calling only he could hear.
Flames clutched his sides for a moment before launching another Enerugi-Tanma at his foes, only for more to flood in out of nowhere. Would it ever end?

she turned to see that luke wasn`t there she walked towards it, but then the door swung shut and an alarm sung out. dar she thought -this wasnt her day. she stepped towards the door and thumped on the metal "guys....guys are you behind there..help please" then she heard someone behind her...

she watched as the humans in the room turned to her, somehow she walked into the caferteeria room for them. she waved and laughed lightly "h...hay there...dont suppode we could just talk over a pint" a bullet missed her head by an inch "didn`t think so. she ran and jumped into the air so that the best they could do was shoot and try and take aim, she sttled herself in one of the small holes int the ceiling and decicded to stay there, two bullets smacked into the metal beside her, she whimpered and curled up, "what now" she heard a ladder being assembled "crumbs!"

"COMING THROUGH" luke shouted while obliterating the door a ladder and all but 5 humans "ok you 5 in the corner NOW!" he demanded at the remaining humans "maxi where are you?" he shouted while looking around

she took her paws from her ears "Luke!" she shouted and stumbled back down to the ground and ugged him hard "i wondered where you went" she whispereed into his ear "both of you" she smiled

ZERO paused in the middle of the long corridor he was in and tilted his head slightly. His body slowly tirned round to face the wall as his ears twitched. With a sudden roar ZERO blasted the wall apart, revealing the secret passage to a hidden room. His expression remained neutral as he glanced before making his way to the hidden room.
Flames was down on one knee, bleeding badly as the visible world shook and what he assumed to be the last foe appeared. He couldn't move his left arm, his chest was stained crimson from his blood and numerous gashes were present in his legs. As he looked up at the massive demon that was thundering over towards him, he couldn't help but wonder why the last enemy was always large and powerful. "Just for once I almost wish that the last one would be some scared weakling who didn't want to fight...I almost wish that..."
Flames slowly rose to his feet, head now looking down, obscured by shadow as he spoke again: "But what would the point be in that? I remember it all now...I remember who I am..." He slowly lifted his head and opened his eyes, which were now blazing with an eternal fire that seemed to glow through the engulfing darkness. As he got into a battle stance he roared out so loud that the void he was in seemed to shake from fear:
"I won't hesitate! If an enemy appears before me I'll destroy it, even if it costs me my life!"

Syracue growled in pain, coming to on the cold floor in front of ZERO. "Sonuvawhore... That's gonna burn next week.." She murmured, cursing her stupidity.
Glancing up, she yelped in surprise, struggling to get up off her sleepy butt. The robot-thing had blasted through a wall and was going into the hidden room. She goaded herself into moving and quickly got out of his way.

ZERO didn't even seem to notice Syracue as he walked on towards the room, his eyes glazed over and empty.
Meanwhilst, an ominous figure observed ZERO's progress on a monitor, mumbling something to himself that was too quiet to be audible. The group of human researchers behind him remained silent as they stared at him, not even trying to break free of the ropes they were restrained with. Only Dr. Alpha dared to speak to the figure: "Who are you and how dare you tie us up like this!? What are you planning on doing with ZERO?"
The figure didn't move. He simply continued observing the screen...

Finding this blatant disregard to her being there disturbing, Syracue scampered off down the hall, sniffing for luke. As she bumped into him, she screamed in surprise and fell onto her arse for the third time. Grumbling under her breath, Syracue shakily got to her feet once more and apologized profusely.

Vince stood still for a while and looked at Marko before putting his muzzle against his, giving him a gentle kiss. "We should probably get moving again." They had fallen behind from Luke and Maxi by now, so Vince looked around a bit before settling his eyes on Marko again. "Any ideas on where we should go from here?"

luke jumped back in shock when syracue hit into him as he got up he said "well well look whos back"

Marko shrugs. "I think the stairs are on the left, if you want to try a lower floor. Other than that, I'm not too sure." He was feeling much better by now, and was slowly pacing the floor.

"whoops...!" she raced down the stairs and leant over the railing, hanging upside down. "hey guys were up here, sorry about that, got a bit ahead of myself i guess...and we have found someone knew...how cool is that...so you coming" she smiled and waited for their answer

Vince turned his head towards the stairs to see Maxi hanging down from the railing. "Yeah, we're coming." Vince then looked towards Marko. "After you."

she slipped slightly and brought her self back "whoa that was too close...need any help guys" she shouted down in a near whisper...incase any humans could hear her, she had a feeling something big was about to happen, and the throbbing sensation that was coming from 2 floors above was annoying her deeply, maybe they could check it out...

The figure seemed to forget that the other humans were even in the room as he watched ZERO enter the hidden room and approach a massive contraption in the middle of the room. He finally spoke in a soft tone just loud enough for the human researchers to hear: "My friend...It has been to long. I cannot interfere any more then this and I'm sorry...Please...Bring hope to all living things..." The researchers could only look at one another in confusion as a single tear slid down the cheek of the figure...
ZERO halted, bewilderment etched into his features as he stared at the device, unsure of whether to enter it or not. At the same moment Flames also halted, one hand over a large wound on his chest. His eyes are only half-open as he watches the last foe slowly fall down with a thunderous crash. He utters one thing before closing his eyes and toppling into the void: "Omega..."

The researchers had noticed the anthro girl and were muttering amongst themselves when the figure, Omega, silenced them with an icy glare. Even Dr. Alpha froze and became mute, eyes wide as Omega's eyes blazed with an ominous sense of restrained power. His eyes softened as he spoke to the anthro girl. "I've been expecting you. Please, take a seat for a moment and rest. I'm sure that you could do with a break after all that the other humans have tried to do..." He said softly in a caring and polite manner, gesturing towards a cosy chair nearby, before returning his gaze to the monitor as he watched ZERO enter the machine. The view was enlarged and spread across every monitor in the room so that all could see what was about to happen...
ZERO hesitantly stepped into the device, a blank look etched into his emotionless features as the opening sealed behind him. Pain flooded his being as light engulfed his form. It felt as if every shred of his body was being torn apart as his energy was drained and an eerie sensation filled his mind. At the same time, the darkness that had engufed Flames in the void of ZERO's subconcious had turned into an intense beam of pure light as he fell and was flung far, far away.
Omega watched as the device exploded outwards and left naught but a lot of smoke and dust. A dark shape was barely visible in the centre through all the smoke. The researchers gasped as the shape split into two and two figures were flung apart, unable to tell what had just happened...

"Kids these days... It's all about how big of an explosion you can make and not thinking over the consequences of ones actions..."

The researchers could only look on, stunned, as the dust and smoke finally cleared. There eyes were mesmerised by what was on the monitor. One wrenched her eyes away and looked at the figure who had brought this turn of events about: "What are you going to do know that ZERO has been split?"
The ominous human, Omega, turned to face her and thought for a moment before opening his mouth: "I've given them all the help I can. Right now it's up to the Anthros...Only if they can escape will this world have a shot at redemption...There's nothing more I can do now. I have aided Flames and weakened ZERO..." He then returned to the monitor with a sigh and lowered his head before mumbling to himself: "Flames...I'm sorry things didn't go quite as planned...If only I could do more for all of you..."
ZERO and Flames stood in the midst of all the debris, staring at one another. Two figures, one dark and emotionless, the other fiery with determination, yet oddly calm. One male, the other female. Omega's plan had successfully split Flames from ZERO and weakened ZERO greatly, but there were several factors he had not accounted for. ZERO and Flames were like opposites and as a result, when Flames had been extracted, a body of the opposite gender had been created, whilst ZERO had Flames' original body.........

The ominous figure, Omega Zero, did not move. He simply stood there with his back turned and said one last thing: "Sayonara Anthros...Bring hope to humanity..." And with that he vanished into thin air with not so much as a whisper of sound, leaving Luke speechless, just standing there.
Meanwhile, Flames and ZERO were boring holes into one another with their gaze, the intensity of their concentration like an aura expanding outwards, reaching beyond the room they were, seething in its power...Neither one blinked, let alone moved, so deep was their focus on the other.

Frisky wake's up noticing that's she's on a cold castle floor then she hears wind whistling through the castle.she stands up while she felt a lot of pain in her left side she looked around her self. wondering where she was,she then noticed that she was geared up checking the magazines of both her special customized Mauser's then putting them back in their holsters,taking her tanto with her left paw she set out and wanders around the place she woke up looking for an exit. noticing she's bleeding gently from the back of her head drips of blood leaving a red trail.
