One thing Iv realised over my time with other furries...
How come furries are a lot more kinder than humans?
Iv met many humans who are horrible, who bully others and so on...
But Iv NEVER met a horrible furry.
Sure, Iv met a weird one or 2, ok maybe one was a bit worse than the other... but they weren't exactly horrible.
At my school...most people are judged by thier appearance...nice huh? (Im being VERY sarcastic) >:|
But anyway....what do you think?
-
I believe when a group is pursecuted or made fun of they themselves make a bigger effort to stay together and be friends, because without each other what more is there? My two cents :ded:
-
SO blackout, your saying that we...stick together kinddof?
-
Commerodity is an unusual thing... but he's got a valid point in that.
-

Yes, not only by nessecity, but one would think that someone with a mean personality wouldn't really like furries.
-
I think being furry is somewhat of a personal thing. Like most animals, we stick together- but as humans, we have that choice to be around who we want to. I think it's somewhat like how some gays prefer to be around other gays.. >> It's just because we feel comfortable around those with the same interest and there's no reason others with the same interest would judge you for it like other people. >>
-
I think it also has something to do with our ability to relate to animals. People that can relate to something they may or may not even fully understand often make for good caring, compassionate friends.
-
wow,
Lots of interesting ideas everone, thanks^^
-
gotta go with blackOut, though i've noticed a big rate of acceptance too, like im not a furry, but i still get accepted, lol, sometimes i wouldnt even notice that our lifestyles are so different, because i seem to get along with most people here, it might depend on that furry fandom has always been driven on fun, some people go deeper in it than that, but for most people its their lifestyle, because they fit into it, and they feel comfortable.. and here at the forum most people share the same lifestyle, making communication easier too, because the people can relate to each other
-
At my school...most people are judged by thier appearance...nice huh? (Im being VERY sarcastic) angry
But anyway....what do you think?
What it means? Outfit? Skin? :d
In every school kids separate on different groups: those who are shy, those who are party ones, etc, etc... They can't hate anyone just cuz he looks different. I'll say it in this way: they scan you, if u chill and don't take everything too seriously, they'll accept you as "he's ok, let's find another black sheep in our class". But if someone is really messed up with his head, better avoid any conflicts and show him respect (if he continues his childish ****, the best way to deal with it is show him middle finger or something like that xd) I dunno... USA have really strange society...
My head... :d
-
I agree with Blackout on this one; people who've been done wrong so many times tend to stick together.. It's like that with my friends and I.. We're really just one big group of losers at school.

Not really skin or clothes.
Just natural appearence, eg nose, eye colour, hair stle etc, Its horrible

I am going to put my two cents in.
I think that when people who look sfor someone to pick on they pick on people whom are vulenerable Ie. a person who has no group, When people group together I would refer it to a pack, they each defend each other and as in animals the bigger the group the more people seem to leave you alone. When a single "loser" has no group it seems like he/she gets pciked on more, but if you group together than as Nyx said they really are a big group of losers but a group of losers that are harder to make front of as a whole. ( no offense meant Nyx )
Stay close to your friends. :)
-
No offense taken.. We are losers.
-
Nyx, We are not losers we are just unique I mean I have a very small group of friends that accept me being a furry. Since there is no other furries in Halifax ((The city where I come from)) then they are all I got I mean aside from that I am picked on a lot . But after my tears I remember I got you guys which means all the furry friends I could ever need so yeah like blackout said we stick together!

An interesting thing my friend did to test this, was make a human account on imvu and go to furry public rooms as a human. First thing that happened was he was trash talked and told to leave before ever doing anything at all. He then went into his main account, which was furry, and went to human rooms. They did not have a problem with him and treated him just like any other person.
Alot of people on imvu who are furries claim that humans hate furries, this is not true. there are 6 billions +/- people on this earth. I doubt more then 1/6 even know what is a furry.
In terms of the internet there are always people hating just for the heck of it.
I say it does not depend on you being a furry or human. it just depends on the person. Anybody can be mean you just havent met a mean furry because your not on the recieving end.
-
No offense taken.. We are losers.
i would not say that, we are who we are and if ohter people dont like then tuff. besides i dont think that at all
I will say that furries are much nicer then humans and alot more fun too
-
No offense taken.. We are losers.
I dont'see how you can say that SD,
Everyone's deifferent, just because we're all seperated over vast distances
doesn't mean we're losers.
-

and i agree we are not losers at all no matter what people say
-
I doubt SD meant she considers us losers. Rather, when a human finds out we are furry, a large percentage of the time they will consider us "losers" for being involved in such a thing. Kind of like being called "strange."
-
Well, I think most Furries are nicer then most Humans is because Furries arent as Opinionated as most Humans are.
We're pretty open and accepting to things.
A.K.A Liberal is the key word :P

and we've got a winner, i think this guy here is right on the ball, i mean, no offense to you guys, but when i was asking questions about the fandom, and i said i found it to be a bit strange to pull on a suit and go to everyday places, the guy started cussing at me for being a (censored word) fursecutor and blocked me right after.... all i said was that i found it a bit strange (still do btw, but thats off-topic)
in conclusion: furries seem nicer than other people (plz dont use the term human, because we're all equally human) because furries have the same lifestyle
-

i guess this is true, i mean.. most of the non furry people i have talked with oputside of the forrum have been pretty close minded, so i can see where the entire "loser" attitude thay have towards us can stand. my english is a little wierd in this one, but whatev, grammar was never my strong point. ^_^V

No I was actually referring to myself and my group of friends at school. I wasn't calling anyone one here a loser...

Oh, well Im glad you weren't reffering to furrs, but I dont think you should call your elves losers....
Unless you want to :snicker: but its up to you to decide

I think you gotta look at it like this, average humans have no bonds. We are dominant creatures by nature who are agressive and dangerous. But add a interest and suddenly bonds are formed. Be it The furry fandom or football. Common passions bring people together, to see past our instincts to become more then we are.
I naturally like other furries because I know they are just like me. We share a unspoken bond.
On the other side of it people with other interests might clash with furries and you naturally don't get along. Thus the whole dominant thing is braught out. Masters of our domain kinda deal. Some might seem they do it just because they can but I can garuntee you somewhere inside something about us offends them.
That brings me to the human needs for power. All humans like to be dominant in their environment. What happens when a furry shows up with friends and the guy/girl doesn't know what is going on. They loose that sense of control and usually thats where things take a turn for the worse. Wars have been faught billions have died because of this. We furries like something nobody else can understand because they aren't furries. By being ourselves we take away that element of control.
Ok now I'm just rambling I hope any of that makes sense its hard to put it into words

excuse me, but isnt that called "superiority complex" in short? i've said this for quite a while, but it seems to be ignored: furries = humans with a different lifestyle, just like punk, goth activists, but those consider themselves human, i think "haters" (i used quote-marks because haters kill, furries dont get killed by their haters) would decrease at a enormous rate if you guys would stop considering yourself some different species
i hope i didnt offend anyone, but its the truth and it needs to be put out here

I didn't say we were a different species, but the whole dominant thing is real. Its instinct. We also follow herd mentality. which is why different groups of people and interests get along well.

Although people may not say it , most speak as if being a furry as if they are a anthropomorphic creature.
We are humans.
The furry fandom is just that, a fandom.
Its like any other social movement with a gathering.
Do you think emo, goth or punks refer to other people as humans?

ah, at least someone who understands what im talking about :)

I was just using it as a form of speech to describe what I'm talking about. Obviously I know we are all humans.

true, true. But here we can be something else, like a transformer or a fox person.

but isnt that what the roleplay boards is for? to help against confusion on the general board? where we all talk as our human selves?

See now your just running things in circles. Bottom line for me is I come here to express my furry side. I like other furries and hate on those who hate on us.
-
When we say "humans" we are referring to people who don't hold the beliefs we do. It's almost never meant as an insult or as a way of classifying non-furries as a different species. It's just a way to specify whether we're talking about furries or non-furries. Unless we have some kind of identity disorder (and I'm being serious), we all know we're really just human. This is a fandom, plain and simple, and it's how we choose to express ourselves and have fun.
And this is the Furry Forums. Anyone here can act as a furry anywhere they want to here. That's what we're here for, so furries and furry friends can be open about their furriness.
Now get back to the topic before this gets even more out of hand.
