Title: After a few years writing about Anthro....
Post by: Giordan Tigerness on November 19, 2017, 10:21:20 PM
After a few years writing novels about worlds with Anthropomorphic characters, sketching, etc. I was accused of being a furry. Naturally that meant dismissing a long ago seen CSI episode and looking them up. Uhmm. Hi! I had no idea such a world existed both in terms of fun, creativity, camaraderie, etc! The last 2 weeks have been spent doing homework on creating a fur suit to match 2-3 of my main book characters. Why make just 1 when the 3rd should be even more improved? If I can make custom camping hammocks and research the best what worked/what didn't and start with the easiest (a pure white leopard-like feline called a Ghost Ranger) then hopefully I can have a really nice fursuit by the time Anthrocon comes around. Yep, totally new to the scene, already debating reservations for Anthrocon!

I'm not sure if there are other like minded furries near Knoxville, TN but toss up a paw and say hi!

Tennessee, huh? I'm on the other side of the river, in Arkansas.

Welcome to TFF! You'll find plenty of friendly furs here (and even some friendly scales, too).

Hiya Giordan!

Welcome welcome, I'm so glad you found us ^_^

That CSI episode XD  Truly the stuff of legend...
But yes there is a lot of misinformation, but the one thing which IS universal to all furries is a love of anthropomorphic animals.  After that the rest is just personal taste and variation among individuals.

But, if you're like me at least, it can be a relief to just have a name for your interest and a place to connect with like-minded people.

Anyway, I'm sure you find plenty to interest you here and some new friends as well.

If you have any questions just ask!

Thanks to all! Getting to know my way around but for the love of all that is fluffy how in the Heck did I end up as a vibrating furby? (yes, I know post counts... But please someone feed me so I can evolve!)

XD  IKR?

Vibrating furby, it's ghastly.

You didn't hear this from me, but posts on some boards count towards your post count and some don't...

<.<

For example, posts in this thread will count, or in What Song Are You Listening To Now? (https://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=2904.msg2135179#new) to give two examples.  Whereas Off-Topic (https://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?board=134.0) doesn't.

I guess if I ended up in the right lap being a <<<vibrating>>> furby might be a good thing but that can be left to the imagination.  0:)

When someone says vibrating furby, all I think of are law suits from Hasbro.  0:)

Though you may be interested to know that before Hasbro took over, Furbies where made by Tiger Electronics.

I like to think I'm fun AND educational  B)

Species mate works! Lot of different felines out here, the more the merrier. :)
(Now I just need  properly cute one to entice to purring)

Welcome to the forum XD

Yeah, the title of Vibrating Furby has always been an odd one, even to me, but luckily the more you post, the more various titles there are. At 16 posts you'll get the next title. You can view them in the FAQ ( https://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=4 ) under the second question "What do the different member ranks mean? (AKA Why am I a "Vibrating Furby"?)" :)
