Seems it's been a while since my last one, and probably a lot of you don't have a single clue who I am.
I'm Hollow, resident of the state of California, currently doing my second semester of college. I'm extremely knowledgable in firearm mechanics and general information (pretty much built my own AR-15 by extensively upgrading a stock model inside and out), and I've competed in a couple matches withing the past few months. I'm also a clarinetist, a gamer, and just generally watching around here to see how things go. I've always loved the people here, usually because of the diversity of backgrounds and viewpoints that come with them. I was (sorta) a moderator for the General and Off-Topic sections for a few months, although I did end up quitting due to time constraints and a lack of interest after a while.
Ask me anything.

What motivated you to join the Forums when you did and how did you discover it?
and if you remember how did you feel your first few days?

It's almost two years since I joined.... I joined since I'd always been a fan of a few webcomics that dealt mainly with humanoid animals, Skin Deep being a great example. Google was pretty straightforward with providing this site, as with many other users. I remember trying my best to create a ton of new threads, meet new people, see who got along well with me. I ended up makinga skype caht with a few of them, and we're still friends today. It was nice.

Not you.

Damn...
Real question though, what got you into gun collecting and guns in general?

I enjoy the skill aspect that comes with shooting in a competitive situation, from 3-gun to trap to simple target, or anything in between. The shooting community is always helpful to people willing to learn, and the knowledge required to maintain and build new firearms is a nice challenge. I'm not interested in hunting or LE/Military myself, but I still enjoy learning the history of development that goes into their equipment. Sadly, the political stigma and monetary price on shooting sports keeps many of my friends from accompanying me to the range. I hope to change their mind over time, if they are willing to try something new despite what the news says of most firearms being weapons of destruction and war.
I don't necessarily collect a TON of guns, but rather the ones I find most interesting. I am currently saving up for a Benelli M2 imported from Italy, and perhaps a Finnish M39 somewhere down the road.
