Title: Help Me Choose A Fursona Species? :D
Post by: guest22811 on February 04, 2017, 08:44:22 AM
 ^_^ Need help in choosing a fursona species x3

I am mainly looking for species with something that dangles around, such as how a fennec fox has long floppy ears. It's cute and fun to animate ( If you animate, you would understand what I mean haha ). Some of the species that I have considered are:
- A rabbit with long ears ( However, it has a short tail :/ I can always make it long but I prefer sticking to the correct anatomy )
- A lioness with a long tail ( Lions aren't my thing )
I'm also not interested in dogs/foxes/cats/hybrids/any species that don't exist irl because they're too common/also not my thing.
If there are no species that follow what I like then I'm sticking to a rabbit ;//

Thanks for reading this post :D

Pls halp lol

Hmm if looks is only what matters to you why not make multiple sonas? o3o

When I was first making my sona I was between an otter, a cat and a wolf.. You see for me my sona's personality matters so I wanted something that matches up with mine.

Since I am not that into water (hate to get wet >_< ) I had to eliminate the otter :p Since otters swim etc..

So then I also eliminated the cat too because I felt wolves kinda act more like I do :p . They can work on teams but they can also be lonely walking in the moonlight howling :p . (Pretty much me except the howling ;p )

So there you go ^_^ I chose my species based on the personality I thought maybe you'd want to do the same ^_^ . And if you don't wanna have only JUST one sona then go for it and make a second and a third etc.. ;p

I'd say just try to experiment by thinking "what do I want this character to have" you'll see that most species will be eliminated from your list..

And the more you think about the final design like colors and other features the more species you'll eliminate.

If you end up with multiple species again as I said make more fursonas :p

Anyways SORRY for the long reply.. Hope I helped ^_^

@Ventus
Sounds interesting but I do still prefer sticking to real species. Thanks for the offer though!

@Vortex
Looks do matter a lot for this current sona; I do prefer something with parts that flop around a lot lmao.
I already have too many other sonas but this one isn't really based on my personality haha
;

My main sona is a bat, I chose the species since I get a rather large amount of dreams that involve flying, and they are often associated with the night (I pull heaps of all nighters.)

The profile picture that I have that you see is simply just a random logo I made for my YouTube channel; It's got nothing to do with me.

I understand :)
But it's kind of hard to have a rabbit or a creature with rabbit-esk ears and a long tail. I don't know of any real species that have that (otherwise I would have chosen that instead of creating one xD).

Also I kinda spazzed and removed my post, I realised later you said you wanted a real species, so I'm like: AHHH! *removes post*
;_;

The only creature that comes to mind for me when someone says "Big bunny-like ears and a long tail" is this:

That's an actual real-life animal called the jerboa.
Awfully cute (in my opinion) and I have never heard of one being used as a fursona, but not sure if it's what you'd be looking for xP

To be honest seems like you'd be into a lop-eared rabbit.
