Title: Animal fossil

I wasn't sure where else to put this and i just found it really interesting and wanted to share.

So they found the fossils of an ancient species of otter that is as big as a WOLF

Otters are know for the cuties playfulness but really these animals are pretty vicious when they want to be and imagining that at the size of a WOLF is just fascinating. With that kind of enhanced size i have to wonder about the died, The article pointed to the same basic diet as today's otters but they would have to have a much larger intake of food to support that massive size.








so anyways, just thought id share because i think these things are kinda interesting. have a good day ^.^

Kind of terrifying actually!

I can't remember the original source but this reminds of an article I read about pre historic sloths, and apparently they were three times the size of their modern counterparts.

Ah yes! I sadly forget what museum it was but it had a model of the size they estimated those giant sloths at. They are huge! and if memory serves I believe it said That the prehistoric sloth was more of an active mammal then today's sloths (but that may just be faulty memory)

Showed this to my bf who loves otters, and we both laughed at the thought of them behaving like modern otters. Because otters right now are pretty derpy, so imagine that in wolf size?  XD

well, i believe animals use to live a lot longer back then, and there was more oxygen in the air, so animals and humans lived for very long, thats why there find so many giant animals! like the giant alligators and the giant sharks! >w< thats just what i think anywhays!

More than that even. I've seen a full fossil skeleton at the LaBrea Tar Pits. It was the size of a large bear. Some species were almost as big as elephants!
