So being new to the fandom I really am curious what fursona I would be I really do like big cats and wolfs but I really can't narrow it down from there to make it more specific
-
dont get me wrong but i think therese more being a furry its not like chose your pokemon and then ready to go,
- how do you feel inside
- what is your desired animal
- if someone grants you a wish that you can be an animal alike what would you be
the rest is personality color etc you hve to be your own creation if someone telling you what you are then its not unique then its not yourself
thats my humble opinion maybe im wrong bit this is how i would see that
cat alike is a good start
-
Thanks I guess it's just something you can relate too then

You might try looking at it in terms of which animal is most similar to your personality. For example, wolves are pack animals, but big cats are mostly solitary, except for lions.
-
I'd suggest taking a look inside yourself and doing some thinking, see what animals come to the surface.. Think about, or do a little research on animals that you seem drawn to, even if they are total opposites from yourself (sometimes a good thing to have to step outside your personal box).
As for developing the fursona... can't help there... Naake ni has been part of me so long that I didn't develop, just learned to understand.

Hello again, SuperShermanTanker ^^
I would say to create a fursona that's comfortable for and to you.
Some people just want something quick and easy to represent themselves in the community. Some don't want to stand out. Others want to specifically stand out as much as possible. And then there are some who don't care about standing out.
Sometimes it's someone's favourite animal, spirit animal, an animal they have a connection or history with, or just a random animal.
It's really up to you. For some the fandom is extremely important (be it as soon as they start in the fandom or they gradually grow to feel it's important), but for a lot it's just for "shits and giggles", just for fun. Therefore a few people take creating a fursona seriously, but you don't have to :)
However, considering you asked, it means you have thought about it and would like to get some help.
If you really like big cats and wolves, you should be aware of a couple of things.
There are loads of felines and canines in the fandom (even combinations of both). Some based on real animals, others are fantasy-based.
If this doesn't bother you, then that's fine. It's just something I think someone should preferably take into account, because maybe they don't like to be associated in such a way, if that makes sense?
I would also suggest to do a bit more research, particularly what about big cats and wolves interest you the most. Is it the lion's mane? The wolves' pointy byt sturdy head shape?
What are features you want to apply to your character?
What species of big cats are you most interested in? And what species of wolves?
These questions you don't have to answer here, but answer them for yourself. It's part of fursona and character development, and can help you a long way when designing your fursona.
Finally, once you narrowed that down, ask yourself: What other features (such as colour and any special markings or accessoiries) might they have?
Do they have a certain power or ability? Any disabilities they might have?
Hope this helps :)
As for myself? (Maybe this might also help in some way.)
I found out a few years a abgoout this forum and the fandom. I always felt as a furry, but didn't know there was such a huge community of it.
When I joined I felt it was odd not to represent myself with a fursona of some sorts. I wasn't sure if I'd fit in, or if my character would suffice.
But then after a while, I realised: You can design whatever fursona you want, you can have one or multiple. You can also decide to not have one either. It's not a requirement to be a part of the fandom, or these forums :)
I started with a simple design of a dragon, tried to make it my own as much as possible. It has since then developped more character, backstory, and its design and colour scheme has changed a bit.
Overall it's the same green and red dragon from when I joined all those years ago, just more... (re)defined.

So I settled on the wolf because I fall into the category of intelligence and I feel it also matches with my favorite color and season in which my favorite color being blue and favorite season being winter. I also am someone who when put into certain situations like to be in control like the alpha of a pack and I also like to be close to my friends who can also help me out of a situation when I'm stuck.
-
That sounds good :D
Glad you keep us up-to-date on the progress!
(Although I would argue not only wolves are intelligent here :P )
-
The main thing that convinced me was the fact of winter being my favorite season
-
Ah, I see ^^
But what about large snow cats? Or do they feel less winter-y to you?
-
how about a snow tiger you know this sibirian ones

I don't know never really knew much about snow cats I only really knew about the ones who live in the hotter areas of the world. The wolf checks off most of the personality traits I have so that's why I feel it matches the most

I think the main thing is that you are engaging with the process. Having said that have you considered an arctic fox? *blatantly reveals fox bias*
Also, just one thing to add. For me it wasn't just thinking about myself and what I was like, it was also thinking about what I wanted to be like. The details of your fursona could be a goal for how you'd like to be different IRL. Just something to consider anyway ^_^
