Hai, I'm Supy. 18 years of age, I just moved to California from Korea.
So, I'm planning to visit a place called The Prancing Skiltaire located at Garden Grove, California this Saturday.
They say it's a residential house in which experienced(?) furries lives at, but then every first/second Saturday of the month do they invite furries for a meet-up. I presume it's a minor furry event.
After attempting research of this place did I find minimal amount of information about what this place was all about, what to prepare for this place, and how to get along with the people there. As a result, I am feeling very uncertain about visiting the house meetup.
And since I have nearly no connection to anyone in the United States, I have this fright where everyone in the meetup may know each other, and me as a random person just stepping in out of nowhere would seem... extremely awkward..
If anyone knows of the place or have been there, some advice would really help at this time! x3

I haven't been to any furry meetups either. In my case it's just general social anxiety and a solitary nature. So I can't help you with what to expect.
I am in Southern California though, so now you know at least one person in the area. :)

It sounds like it could just be a party, expect games, people talking and maybe some beverages. They may be a bit cliquey but if you start introducing yourself to people you may like it, they also may be a bit... cringey, if that's the case and it's not your cup of tea just leave. Furs always like new people, especially people who are from different countries, so you should be fine. Just remember that you should be in control the entire time, if they try to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable, and you say no, and they don't respect that, then they're dangerous and you should leave, even if it seems like a harmless thing. You don't want to go home regretting your night out!
My main advice, be safe, don't do anything you don't want to do and have a plan on how to get home in case you want to leave early. That said, I doubt anything bad will happen and I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! Don't be scared, just go and have fun, I just want to make sure you're safe as well!
