Pretty basic freeform RP, set in a within a small, idyllic town in a moderate winter climate.
Our town is thriving with activity celebrating holidays and the snowy season.
Everyone is already acquainted with each other, no form required.
I only have two rules, no immensely powerful characters and be nice.
The weather is clear, sunny, with a few inches on snow still on grassy areas and median. All roads, parking lots, and sidewalks are plowed/salted. Temperature is cold but feels slightly warmer since the sun is out.
--
Faolyn leaned against the brick wall just outside of her apartment complex, taking in the fresh air. After a week of nonstop snowfall, it was nice to have the chance to appreciate the weather before the sun melted the fluffy powder into slush.
-
Raz slept in an alleyway, covering himself in snow as it was a nice feeling to feel the snow melt on him
-
Glitch wasn't sure what to do now that there was a chance to go outside. Fumbling with the strings of the hoodie, they walked through the alleyways until they almost stepped on Raz. Letting out a small noise of surprise, they reached down to poke him. "You good?" they asked nonchalantly to the sleeping dragon, expecting really no answer.
-
Raz groaned as he was disturbed, slowly waking up, "Whhaaattt..."
-
Geoff breathed lungfuls of cool, refreshing air as he strolled around the park. Normally he'd be inside his tiny dwelling drawing or carving sculptures to sell, but today looked the perfect time to stretch his legs and explore the town.
-
Faolyn pulled the hood of her jacket up and began trotting down the sidewalk. She looked around, before focusing her attention on the park. Sitting down at a bench, she absently began packing a mound of snow into a ball as she watched the furs who passed her.
-
Foxi was sitting in the shadows amid a small pile of snow. She rose to her feet, brushing flecks of snow her off her coat, and began walking forward.
-
Nax had been sleeping in the snow at the park, face first as always. His grey zip up hoodie and skinny jeans had been soaked by the melting snow. "Go... away .. stupid... sun..."
-
Foxi continued walking and nearly tripped over a fox laying faceplanted in the snow. "Gah!" she hissed, just managing to keep her footing. In her efforts, the hybrid had splashed her tail into a large puddle, sending water flying everywhere and completely soaking herself, which caused her to fall anyway-- right into the puddle. "Oww..."
-
Ulvus was walking down the sidewalk, paws in pockets as always, taking in the cool air. He had been working too much on his computer the last week, so it was refreshing getting outside for once. He turned the corner, walking towards the park, entering it.
-
Foxi got herself up and shook the water out of her fur. "Now I'm wet..." she muttered, looking in dismay at her soaked tail, water weighing it down and making it drag the ground.
-
Nax gasping from being rudely awoken "Hurk! Gah, I'm all wet how di... Oh yeah snow. Anyway how's your day?" He has a cheerful smile as if he had never been awoken via someone tripping
-
"Wet," Foxi muttered, ears back in annoyance. "Stupid sunlight."
-
Nax's ears go down in shame "Oh, sorry. The ground just looked so comfortable and I just fell asleep" Nax's smiles awkwardly
-
Foxi sighed. "It's alright. I'm used to it."
-
After he entered the park, Ulvus went down a path, walking along dead trees and bushes. He kept his ears raised, as the sound of snow getting stepped on was really satisfying. It gave him a small smile.
-
Nax smiles "Okay, I'm glad you're not mad at me" Nax looks down at his clothes "Oh, looks like a bit soaked. He he, I should probably change"
-
"So should I," Foxi replied, looking down at herself. "Heh. Oh well, no sense in going all the way back home now. I guess I can deal with a soaked coat for a bit."
-
*Red was walking down the street, he was basically incubated by the thick and warm clothes he was wearing*"I can't tell If I hate or love the cold..."*He said under his breath before drinking the warm coffee from his thermos, the cold environment made a cold-blooded reptile like him very uncomfortable but something about the climate put him at ease*
-
"Well anyway, I gotta go" Nax runs off and tries to jump off a park bench but fails and almost ends up face planting into the snow, a distant cry is heard "Ah! Why did I do that!" He gets up like nothing happened and begins sprinting again.
-
Tsaenoa arrives in the park, seemingly out of nowhere. He's a stranger in this town and isn't sure how he got here. He shivers a bit, not being well dressed for snowy weather, as he looks around.
-
Foxi looked somewhat confused. "Okay then..." With a sigh, she got up and continued walking, ears back and eyes narrowed, long tail dragging the ground as it slowly dried. She shivered, the cold getting under her fluffy fur and chilling her bones now that her clothes were too soaked to provide any extra warmth, even with the weak sunlight shining down on the world below. Best keep moving, the cold, shivering vixen thought to herself, pausing after a small sneeze. I suppose that's the only way I'll keep from freezing out here.
-
Tsaenoa jogs up to Foxi, and says, "Excuse me, hi. I'm not sure where I am. Is there an inn or a tavern around here where I can get a drink and warm up?" He notices that Foxi is soaking wet and shivering and added with a chuckle, "Looks like you might need it too."
-
Trots into the town, staying mostly in alleys and shadows, nose in the air reading the scents. The wet, melting snow and the salt used on the roads covered some of the older, weaker scents, leaving the newest ones easily followed.
Several seemed to cross paths, and once I came across a dragon quietly sleeping under a rapidly melting pile of snow, with the snow around him all pulled in on him. Nearing the center of town I come across a park, and the many scents all seem to converge there. I continue into the park cautiously, still using the trees and shadows, not knowing how a wolf of my size and nature would be received...
I still and watch several humorous (to me) things happen, then feel bad as I realize some of the furs I'm watching don't care to be wet and cold. I shake to both fluff my coat and to shed a little of the accumulated water, even though it doesn't really bother me due to my dual coat..
I stand waiting, for what I'm not sure, I just know that I should be here...
-
Foxi looked up at Tsaenoa. "I think I saw one on the way here," she replied, flicking droplets of water from her large, fluffy ears. "Actually, I was on my way to check it out now. Care to join me?"
-
"I'd love to," he says, and begins to follow her. "My name's Tsaenoa. Tsae for short."
-
"To be honest, I don't really have a name... though, if I remember correctly, I was once called Ravenheart," Foxi replied. "Foxi Ravenheart." She gave a small bow.
-
"Honored to meet you Foxi." Tsae bows back with a flourish.
-
Foxi gave a slight smile. "You as well, Tsaenoa."
-
"Now which way is that tavern? I'm freezing."
-
"Right about... Here." Foxi stopped in front of the tavern.
-
Tsaenoa enters the tavern. He goes up to the bar and orders a hot apple cider. He sips it and smiles, savoring it with closed eyes. Then he sits down at a table, looking satisfied.
-
Follows the two at a distance, still in the shadows, until they get to the tavern. Sees Tsae enter, leaving the Foxi outside alone.
Quietly pads within earshot then coughs, and steps out of the shadows into the failing afternoon sun. keeps head up and tries to grin.
Asks "Is there someplace a wolf can get a meal?"
-
On one tables in the tavern Nax is sleeping and drooling a bit on the table. A waiter wakes him up "You gonna order anything?" Nax jolts awake with a mild stutter looks at the waiter "Oh, yeah!" Nax beams at the waiter with a innocent smile "I would like some... some, ah! Yes, I would like some cider" the waiter looks at him with a bored look
"Okay, anything else" Nax gleefully says "Nope!" the waiting still looking at him with the bored look "Okay, money?" Nax pulls out his wallet to find all of his bills have become soaked in water, he looks nervously at the waiter "You take soggy money?" the waiter not wanting to deal with him anymore accepts the money. "Thank you sir!" Nax smiles
-
"Hm?" Foxi looked down, noticing a wolf looking at her. "Oh, I know a place. There's some sort of steakhouse nearby here... Of course, neither one of us can just strut right in there. After all, you're a feral wolf, and as for me... let's just say they don't like me too much." She thoughtfully tapped her chin. "No, I have a much better idea... Hehe." By now she was almost dry, though her long black hair looked messy and wild from being soaked and left to dry in the sun without styling.
-
Tilts head in interest...
Takes a couple of steps closer
I'm just hoping to get a decent meal, and can pay for it...... What are you thinking?"
-
"Hmm... I was thinking of perhaps creating a diversion of some sort, and maybe sneaking into the kitchen when they're not looking and taking something... Of course, I planned on leaving money for them. I'm not THAT bad." She paused. "Or, I can simply pretend to be someone else and order a few things for the two of us. Perhaps disguising you as well... I suppose it depends on your preference."
-
Considers the options for a few moments... "I'm not one for disguises, but, since I'm new to town I'll leave it to your discretion...."
-
"Hmm... I suppose the disguise thing would work better..." Foxi decided. "I'll be right back." The vixen walked away, returned about 15 minutes later with her fur dyed pure white and her hair dyed silver, streaked with ice blue. She was wearing contacts that made her eyes appear to be a deep blue, and her outfit consisted of a thick gray coat, silver pants, and black mittens. Her tail had been dried and brushed out so it looked fluffier and much less long. "There we go. Instant arctic fox, though that just cost me way too much money to do. Oh, and I managed to pick this up for you." She took a dog collar and leash out of a bag, and fake black dog ears. "Everyone will just assume you're my pet dog with these!" The catfox gave a small grin.
-
Shies away quickly, sits down on haunches and starts trembling... "No... not the collar... I'll wear the ears, but I can't wear the collar. When I was young something bad happened... "
As my eyes glaze over and close I lay down so I don't collapse completely, the memories obviously stronger than my pride.
-
"Alright then." Foxi's voice was low and steady as usual, though curiosity and slight concern reflected in her eyes. She quickly threw the collar aside, keeping only the ears.
-
Gets up slowly, obviously shaken... "I'm sorry.. I was hungry then too, and... I did something... stupid."
Looks at the discarded collar and leash. "If it makes the deception easier maybe you could just carry... them.. ?
Pads over closer to allow the ears to be put on. Looks up at Foxi "Do you think this would help?'
As She looks my eyes turn from hazel brown wolf eyes to a brilliant blue like a 'domesticated' dog. With the ears it makes me look like a large Husky cross.
-
Foxi nodded. "Right, I'll go get them." She went to retrieve the collar and leash, then put the ears on Naake. "There we go, you look just like a normal husky mix with those blue eyes and the fake ears. I guess we can go now!"
-
Looks in shop window at my reflection.. does not look much like me at all.
Looks up at Foxi " Shall we dine then, Milady?" and 'obediently' steps to her side in a heel position.
-
Foxi grinned and began walking, leading the way to the restaurant. They arrived within about 5 minutes; not terribly long.
-
Raises nose slightly and sniffs the wonderful smells coming from the restaurant as we approach. Trying hard not to break the 'heel', but starts to drift slightly from Foxi's side and nearly walks into a lamp post.
Quietly "I guess I should pay attention to where I am. Is this the place?"
-
"Yup, this is it," Foxi replied, her expression unreadable as she approached the restaurant. Slowly she reached forward, and taking a deep breath, pulled the door open.
-
The smells coming thru the open door hit me like a truck... So many smells, good smells, but something else too....
I can't help it, my mouth waters at the smells, but I remain where I am, waiting...
-
Foxi slowly stepped inside, glancing around. "I guess we have to wait to be seated," she said. "Been a while since I was in a place like this." Leaning against the wall, the vixen waited until a tall white fox dressed in a fancy waiter's outfit walked over. "Party of one?" he asked. Foxi glanced from the fox over to Naake. "Oh. Better make that party of two, then." He gave them both a smile, reaching his hand down for Naake to sniff it.
-
Padding in after Foxi, I politely sniff the waiters hand, then loll my tongue out and wag my tail... Look up at Foxi and roll my eyes then make a 'blech' face...
-
Foxi chuckled and gave Naake a sympathetic look. The waiter quickly scratched Naake behind the ear before standing up again. "Right this way." He led them both to a small booth. Foxi proceeded to sit down. "I'll let you decide what you want, ma'am," the waiter said, bowing before heading off to the kitchen.
-
Whispers to Foxi "I wonder if he put us in in this small booth on purpose.. glad he didn't accidentally knock my ears off."
Sits on floor with head just above the table top. making sure I don't drool on the table...
Grins wickedly " I think the waiter was just watching you from the counter... has a 'look' in his eyes. not my type, but is cute in a fox kind of way..."
-
"Heh heh." Foxi smirked. "I suppose he isn't too bad... though it takes a lot more than 'cute' to interest me."
The waiter returned after a few minutes. "Oh, I almost forgot to take your drink orders." He gave another smile, quickly fixing a stray piece of hair that was in his eye and winking in Foxi's direction.
Foxi narrowed her eyes. "Hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...." she grunted, not daring to breathe as her face turned a shade of crimson.
-
Sniggering.... sounds like I'm trying to keep from sneezing...
-
The waiter noticed Foxi's odd reaction. "Are you alright, miss?"
Foxi looked up. "Erm.. just... get me a... T-bone steak... and.. a.... hot cocoa...." the vixen then fell over with her face on the floor and the rest of her on the booth.
The waiter's ears twitched. "Well... alright then..." He shrugged and put a steak down for Naake, gave him a quick rub of the snout, then walked back to the kitchen.
-
Looks under table at Foxi... "What'ca doing under here? hmmm? you gonna be okay?"
-
"We have a problem..." Foxi hissed. "That way the waiter winked at me? I know that wink. I'd know it anywhere. And there's something familiar about those eyes...."
Meanwhile in the kitchen, the waiter was deep in thought as he made some cocoa. "There's something familiar about that fox out there..." he muttered to himself, narrowing his eyes. "Hmmm... But then, if it really was.... no, she'd never have a dog of all things! But what if it is...." He shook his head as he dropped some marshmallows in the cocoa and put a steak in the oven, completely ignoring the cook's puzzled expression.
-
"What are the odds of seeing someone you know in this town...?" forgetting Foxi lives here... "Anyway, I don't get any bad feelings from him"
-
"Neither do I... but it doesn't change the fact that--" Foxi stoppd her sentence short as the waiter returned with 5 steaks and twelve cups of cocoa, looking quite distracted. He put all the steaks on the table, but ended up dropping half of the cups of cocoa on Naake's head. On top of all that, he kept walking past the table, tripping over Foxi's tail and then landing on it. Foxi let out a hiss of pain and shoved the now-alert waiter off, who simply stood there, looking humiliated.
-
Sitting very still letting the cocoa drip off my head... seriously considering dis-assembling the waiter, counting to 20 to give him a chance to survive.
Look down at the floor and see the ears in the cocoa puddle, realize I am not thinking about keeping my eyes blue... , but without the ears ....
Looks back up at Foxi, looking pretty pathetic with cocoa and whipped cream on me, but I focus on just sitting, and start counting back down from 20... as I do my lips curl back menacingly. I slowly turn my head towards the waiter literally trembling from the desire to attack......
-
Foxi looked down at herself and realized some cocoa had been splatted on her, washing off the white paint on parts of one arm and her tail, but that wasn't even what got to her the most. It was the fact that the waiter was just standing there, watching in humiliation, not saying a word. She let out a low growl, her ears flattened to her head, her hind claws unsheathed, and her eyes a glowing shade of red-ish pink. Foxi removed one glove to aim a blow at his face with her long, black fingernails, then glanced over at Naake. Noticing his rage, she stepped aside for him to attack if he wished, giving the waiter one last warning growl.
-
Picks up one of the steaks and shreds it, not eating it. Turns back to the waiter and says one word, very low and almost inaudible... "Go."
-
Le new marble fox guy strolls buy, skipping and hopping around, his green hoodie swings with him on air.
-
The waiter quickly turned around and ran as fast as he could, out of the restaurant.
Foxi snorted. "Time for plan B," she muttered, washing off the last of the paint from her fur.
