Hey guys,
I was wondering: there are several furry species and people pick them because several reasons.
Some people have told me people do this because of the behaviour some species represent.
So in my quest for knowledge and since I'm curious: is there a certain behaviour/character for a species.
Are for example wolves acting different than foxes and if so: how?
-
My choice is a metaphorical link to my past and behaviors, also are cutes.
-
I see, but I'm trying to see if certain species have certain characteral behaviour.
And what kind of charasteristics these are

The black dragon represent sinister intent. But also a mask by which it hides.
Dragon s themselves are known for knowledge, power, arrogance and fear, amongst occasionally hunger, greed, violence and possession. (Wealth before love)

Interesting, thanks for writing that

Welcome!
It was nybpleasure.

If I were to pick a species based on behavior, it would be a bear.
They can be very dangerous, but they're not as predatory as other carnivores. Mostly they'd rather catch salmon and eat berries and honey than chase something down. While I'm nowhere near as badass as a bear, I'm a pretty big guy and I enjoy martial arts, but I'm not at all aggressive or quick to anger (certainly not to the point of violence).
Also, I like to hibernate.
I picked a feline fursona though, because I just feel a very strong affinity for cats.

I mean, I just like wolves, but if I were to pick a fursona based on personality, it'd definitely be a... Hmmm. I'm not actually sure. But, I'll write out a bunch of fursonalities that I think different animals have, and we'll work from there.
Preds:
Lion - Fierce, Courageous, Usually in a position of power, Intimidating
Wolf - Cunning, Social, Loyal, Works well in a pack, Fast, Who doesn't like dogs?
Bear - Protective, Strong, Agile, Very territory oriented, Not very social, Not aggressive unless provoked
Dragon - Fast, Smart, Badass all around, Feared, Aggressive, Usually seen as mysterious
Fox - Cunning, Fast, Agile, Quick thinker
Prey:
Mouse - Goal oriented, Determined, Doesn't stop until they get what they want
Deer - Graceful, Easy to spook, King of the prey world, Smart
I dunno, that's how I see them. But I actually picked a wolf because I already saw myself in a wolf's position, because me and my cousin used to play pretend where she'd be an arctic fox and I would be a wolf. That, and I really liked Kathryn Lasky's book series, Wolves of the Beyond.
Honestly, if it weren't for my cousin, I would probably be a Siberian Husky right now. I've always had a strange fascination with them, I may even make a second fursona of one. Then again, I'm not the kind of guy to have multiple personalities. Woah, I got really off-track. Anyways, take your pick. Like I said, that's just how I see each species.

I was a wolf (main fursona) because of the "Lone wolf" trait I carry. She's black because of my shady personality people have given me. She has wings because of my dream to be up high and in the clouds, but flightless for my fear of heights. I mainly chose wolf because of loyalty, and cunning, but, i'd prefer myself as the bad wolf in the pack. I've been told more than once I have a silver tongue.

i can coniferm what sha said about dragons.

I picked squirrels because they're hyper, the first to run when seeing someone else, they're also fast at running and stuff like that. I made him mainly red because that's the color people say I look best in >.> (And I like red.) I also like the bushy tail.

Okay, really interesting what you guys said there

I picked bear, specifically American black bear, for similar reasons to what others mentioned. Black bears are strong and tough but timid and easily spooked, even by things much smaller than them. They keep out of other creatures' ways and mind their own until a loved one needs protection. You know what they say about mama bears!

I didn't so much pick otter as it was picked for me and I ran with it. I think it suits me because otters are known to be playful (I've been considered annoying with my antics XD) and have an affinity for water (I love swimming and would be in a pool all day every day if I could). I enjoy eating some types of fish and loved shrimp and crab until I found out I was allergic. In some spirit animal/totem/symbolism sources, they've been associated with feminine energy (my masculine side is severely atrophied or nonexistent), curiosity, and creativity (I consider myself a writer, so I hope that applies).

I see, thanks for informing me.
