Title: Fraudulent Fursuit Sites
Post by: Kara on August 01, 2016, 03:58:46 PM
A Chinese anything site that sells fursuits. No, not just ANY fursuits, People fursonas. They take these fursonas that took weeks, months, years even, to create and make a suit for... and they throw that away and sell some.. CHEEKY KNOCKOFF. This has been going on for four months, and I'm SICK OF IT. It's stealing from furries and... ugh. Fursonas are PERSONAL creatures who should be confined to the owner. The owners work very hard on these fursonas, and don't expect them to be stolen. The versions [Name removed] sells are crap quality, unshaved, and a complete lowly knockoff of someone's treasure.

Not this again ...
Welcome to the internet! Where scams, fraud and ripping off others works happen regularly.

Seriously, there's so many posts on this topic already lately and, honestly, whilst it's with good intention it's not really a good idea to reference any specific sites - better to do a simple disclaimer: "Beware, not all websites on the internet are legit"

Better to report it to the responsible authorities and let it pass.

Not this again ...

there's been a bunch of posts about these scam websites lately and, honestly, I don't think it deserves so much attention, especially within a community that already should know how to spot such an obvious scam.

Better to report it to the responsible authorities and let it pass without going into specifics.

Seriously, just a simple "Beware, not all stores on the internet are legit" is enough - something which should be common sense you'd think ...

Yes I get it. I just needed to vent somewhere, and apparently I can't event vent on TFF safely.

I know it's an /old/ topic to talk about but I just wanted to get it out there.

I understand your need to vent, I'm just saying that stating that "badwebsite.com" is a bad website won't do much but to draw further attention to that website.

It's better to not go into specifics and do a generalized vent about how fraud is a bad thing; Instead of venting about a certain criminal person or a specific politician or forum member or whatever - Better to think about what it is about them you don't like and venting about why you dislike that without mentioning names.

My messages are short, because I'm... not much of a talker...
Sorry If I'm blunt often but..

Maybe i'll just delete this post, so people can stop telling me what I can and cannot rant about.

Honestly there's a lot worse specific stuff people have ranted about before on here, that no one has said boo about before. If they wanna rant about it then it's their rant.

Personally I'd hate to find my sona bastardized and turned over for a profit. Granted it bothers me as it is when people take my art to use on adult rp sites .w.

Again, I'm not saying what you can and cannot vent about; The only thing I suggest is to not mention the exact website that does this and all that since uh, it's giving them unnecessary traffic from random curious people wanting to see it for themselves.

I have to agree with TImmy here, and have removed the offending name to prevent curious people googling and generating traffic for the site. As Timmy says, get in contact with relevant authorities if you can, otherwise there really is not much anyone can do. :/ Scams exist, and will continue to exist.

If you saw the original post prior to my edits, please DO NOT repeat the name of the company this rant is aimed at. (All other posts have been edited due to the "Subject" being the original title, no other changes should have been made.)

My opinion on this websites is: Screw it, I do not care. And I guess not many other people should care about it. Even the owners of fursonas. Because they can say "Hey, this is not my fursona, it is just an abomination. Mine is better quality, and is personal to me". Others can say "It is awful, not gonna buy it". It is mostly "If you do not like it, not look at it" stuff.
