I'm so done. My grandmother is senile, and she's a pack rat and she's hording food and there's roaches everywhere. I just killed five out there. FIVE. It takes so much to get me to order people around out of anger. But at that moment I flipped, I just shouted at my grandma to get out leave. She was like you dare talk to me like that, and I gave no shit, I just shouted, Leave! I wasn't even speaking Japanese anymore I just shouted in English. Those roaches were not the small kind, like the kind that's about the size of two thirds my pinkie (That's like an inch and a half)! Not to mention they fly. I managed to take them all down without a single one taking flight. But I can't deal with this anymore. Not to mention when we first got there my mother sprayed around and killed like three on the first day. There are cats out there and my grandmother's trying to feed them and it's attracting roaches like mad (Before coming in I counted lik 5. and there's a bowl of rise on the front porch and there's two inside ;-;). I can't do this. I've already avoided taking a shower once because I was so scared and I'm not taking one tonight either. I don't care. I just. And it doesn't help my grandmother is completely disregarding our warnings against putting food in the hall and stuff. It's disgusting. The kitchen? THEKITCHEN? Don't get me started. There's so many bottles of soy sauce out there. It's not funny. There could easily twenty full bottles out there and I'm not exagerating. Twenty full, (But used once.) bottkes out there. And when we came here, I counted 21 bottled drinks on the table. There was roughting fish on the table. Not to mention the rest of food there. And it smelled like something died. Oh and the fridge, my mom and my aunt's reaction to me mentioning we need to clean that, "No or I'm scared." Put it this way. If my grandma opens the fridge, and it's facing the other way, away from another room we're in, (And I'm sitting next to a window) It smells like pure moldy food. And last year? She had two fridges, TWO FULL FRIDGES STACKED WITH MOLDY FOOD MANY YEARS OLD. It was awful. It's so awful. I want to go home. I really want to go home, I don't care if my dad's a jerk he's better than dealing with roaches. My mom swears that after a week of this, we will be able to go sleepover at her friends house for three weeks. They live in the city, and it's nice their. Their house is so pristine and clean and they have two adorable cats. I'm totally looking at the bright side now. Sorry. I'm just freaking out. Scared. (Call me a wuss, I don't care. I'm ready to buy a crow and let him loose in this house. He will have a feast on the roaches.)

Holy crap! Seriously, I'm feeling for you right now. Sending whatever positive vibes and energy I can muster your way. Any chance you can get the occasional escape from the place and just go on a walk or get outdoors for a while?

That sounds absolutely terrible! I've been in a similar situation, so I get where you're coming from. I would usually say to try and make the best of it, but honestly, powering through it is all I can really recommend, man. It sucks, but there doesn't really seem to be anything else you could do.

Thank the both of you for your concern. I've calmed down. I'm keeping a closer eye on my grandma to make sure she's not doing anything like leaving more food outside again. I could go out but unfortunately it's hotter here than where I'm usually from so I have to stay indoors. Thankfully it seems the roaches are more nocturnal, so I just need to be careful and hold myself up in my room during the night. My mother says we're going to leave most likely tomorrow evening. And if we return here, we'll be back for a few hours at most, or she'll leave me in the city. I'm so glad she's not going to say we're going to stay here for another few days.

Whaaaaat thats crazy. Is she living with you or are you staying with her? Good to hear you'll get some off time tomorrow. That place could be a potenial health hazard.

I've had to deal with something like this in the past and I know how awful it can get. I seriously feel for you, in the past I tried helping said person who had the same issue by cleaning out her fridge. She went right back and put everything I threw out back in x.x.

The week is over now, right? So I take it that you're at the place of the friends of your mum?

Coincidentally I'm going back tomorrow because we still didn't get my grandma into the senior citizen's home. We're staying for three days... yay....

this sounds horrific, although my house is clean its just an infetion with them and mosqitoes and flys and some sort of worm that looks like teal and more, so i know where the pain is coming from.
i reccomand just being other places as much as you can and find a nice spot and snack on some stuff to get it over as fast as you can.

It took a while, but everything is finally done. We (Me and my mother) finally moved our grandmother out. And cleaned the house out (we hired a company to clean out the house). Boy. Was it horrific XD
There was so many things that in that house that it was like my grandmother was raising 10 children in there or something. She had more plates than a restaurant. Maybe two. Two fridges. She had 3 closets, and two smaller ones full of her clothes. Not the kind that you stuff umbrellas and stuff in, but rather those huge closets that have a sliding door. Some of it was stuff that was expensive too, like Armany (Not armany exchange or those spin off brands but like Armany from thirty - fourty years go.) Burberry, e.t.c. Everything was stained unfortunately, (Due to Japan's clothing that's like thirty or fourty years old starts growing mold and leaves brown stains, or so my mother says). The rest might've been shirts you would find at Wallmart, worth five dollars or less. She had half a closet full of official Kimonos, so let's say about 20-30 of those. Put it this way, in Japan, the cheapest Kimono that a person can buy is about 200$ (That's if my grandmother bought the cheapest and I guarantee you she didn't.). Yep so 20-30 200$ down the drain, (We threw most of those out as well, most of them still had a tag too. The reason they cost that much is because they're like a suit, except they have to be 'COMPLETELY Tailored to you from scratch'. So when you buy it, it's just a sheet of the fabric you want, and then you hire a person to turn it into a kimono.) She had multiple six packs of gallons of water, (or tea and other juices) in boxes in the hall. As well as mini cans of beer, liters of tea, e.t.c. We dumped most of that out.
Aww man, the fridge. It took all four people to move the fridge, and they passed out room. It smelled bad. Really bad. And that smell lingered in that room (The entire room) for a good hour. The fridge door wasn't even open XD I can't even comprehend how that works.

We had hired a small group of four people with a truck somewhat bigger than a UPS truck, and I they needed to go empty the truck out 4-6 times. My mother says ten, and I wasn't counting, but I think she's exagerting... I hope. That's also after the fact that we were the ones that cleaned out her wardrobe beforehand. I can guarantee that I've had to atleast throw out 20 bags of garbage, and so did my mom, and my aunt.
Well it's over. It wasn't funny, though I'm seriously laughing now that I'm looking back at it.

Hey! I'm glad to hear that all seems to now be out of the way. Your message seems to be written a lot happier too, besides the fact you're probably still laughing right now after the whole event. It was horrifying, as I read it, but indeed, now you seem relieved. I'm glad for you :)
And yes, that fridge seems gross, wow.

Ugh, I know how it is. Sort of.
I was temporarily staying over at my (now) ec-girlfriends friends place. We were in-between residences at the time. So we thought it only right to hep with some chores. Or at least my gf though I (singular) should do the chores.
Now, I won't say this person is a hoarder but she never puts anything away. And I don't just mean leaves it in a pile... she just drops things where they may. Stockings? On the back of the couch. Candles in the sink. Shoes on top of the TV. Clothes? EVERYWHERE! Don't get me started in the basement, looks like a warehouse had an explosion during a tornado. The kitchen was an absolute mess.
I put up with it. If I divided up a room into quadrants and tackled one at a time, it was manageable. Did 10 loads of laundry. There was no room in her bedroom so I folded each load, stacked each one of the dining room chairs... which she passed by 5 multiple times for 5 days straight without realizing they were there. She "ran out" of clothes and had to tell her where they were.
Hung up every single wirehangers and found a clothing rack to put them all on. She was surprised she had a rug.
I've tried to repress the horrors of the kitchen... but I know I did my best with the limited space. I don't ever want to know what it looks like now. Best guess: a warzone.
I have a lot of stuff in my room, but they key is organization.
