Title: College honors course Advice wanted!
Post by: Ori on June 07, 2016, 10:15:21 PM
So basically, I'm accepted into honors English (Thanks to my Entrance Exam grades being high.) (My first time.) And I can probably ask to put me into Honors Math ) And I'm already in an honors math class anyway, and I skipped the entrance exam because my SAT scores were high enough. However I'm not good enough to have an easy time in honors math and (Probably) English. So I'm scared that if I take it, I'm going to have straight Cs or something.) Basically that's what's going on in my Math class. But English I have no idea, but let's say I get straight Cs. Is it better to do okay in Honors classes, or have straight A's in the easier classes. (None of this really matters in the future anyway, I'm an artist but I want to get into a higher tier college after finishing my community college.) So basically, what looks better for my next college? Mediocre Honors grades or Straight A's in lower classes?

It all depends on what you want to do. A good mark in Honours Mathematics won't look very good if you want to pursue English in college, and vice versa. If you want to do a subject that requires both English and Math (such as Linguistics, Computer Science or Grammar Theory) then doing both would probably be better (but work hard!), otherwise there's literally no reason to do both.

I would suggest not doing both and focusing on the one that matches closer to what you actually want to do in your future life.
