Based on "Zootopia" (Disney/Pixar Inc. All rights reserved) I made my own big city named "Beastopia".
Also from this city is said you can be anything you want.
Ok, the rules:
Normal board rules apply.
The RP is set in the 21st century. Today, if you will.
New characters must be introduced in this way:
Name
Age (over 18 if job is other than "scholar" or "none")
Gender (non-binary ones not allowed)
Species
Current job (can be nearly anything)
Current adress (anywhere is OK, but don't live with ohters if they don't want to. Contact the homeowners first.)
City info:
Capital of Animaland
Uses European metric units and thus commas are used for decimals instead of periods.
Currency is the Animalandian Gheo (§)
Supports magic, but is the only place in the country to do so.
Some police facilities (jail, academy) are located at a small distance from the city. The airport and harbour are also located outside the city, but remain possible locations for characters to be in.
Remember: magic is not supported, and thus not possible in these locations.
Surrounded by grassland with a small forest seen in the northeast.
Divided in 5 sectors:
- Sterling Square, the center of the city. The other sections sandwich this one like a donut. Here is where the most important buildings are found. Known for making up the city's skyline.
- Soothing Sea, ocean artificial biome. Home to aquatic natives. Known for the eternal wind and for being an excellent beach vacation spot.
- Intriguing Icefields, tundra artificial biome. Home to arctic natives. Known for being very cold and for being an awesome ski area.
- Dashing Desert, desert artificial biome. Home to desert natives. Known for having exotic architecture and for being the most expensive sector to live in.
- Refreshing Rainforest, rainforest artificial biome. Home to rainforest natives. Known for its huge upside down showerheads that create rain.
A tram line connects the sectors and allows fast, public transport.
Walls divide the sections. Also an outer city wall is present.
If you have questions please PM me or turn to the companion board (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=32884.0).

*Greenway 34, Sterling Square*
Fayam's alarm clock bleated. He silenced it and got up. Outside it was still dark. "6:00", the clock said. He rubbed himself in the eyes, yawned and went to do his morning ritual of shower, breakfast and getting ready for work. His friends, who lived with him, still slept. He knew "The Anthro" wouldn't open for another hour and today was not garbage take day. But, alas, mayors have to be early up to tackle the city.
Anna still slept like a block. The bleat of Fayam's alarm clock woke her up a bit. She lazily opened an eye. "Hm... for mayors it's early day," she muttered. She turned around and tried to get some more sleep.
Mary didn't even notice Fayam's clock. She just kept snoring silently.

*laying in her bed her alarm sirens for the forth snooze cycle. She rolls over and looks at the time. 9am.* damn it...I'm late again *frantically she rolls out of her bed rummaging through her closet she manages to find a black pencil skirt and a white button up top. She squeezes her paws into her black stiletto heels. Taking a glance in the mirror she takes another look at the clock. She'll have to apply her make up on the go as usual. Snatching up her purse she looks around her messy apartment* I really got to clean this up... *quickly making her way down the stairs she makes a mad dash for the bus stop to Sterling Square, barely making it on time she gets on the bus and sighs a breath of relief* if the bus driver drives fast, I'll only be 20 minutes late *she chuckles softly and gazes out the window, wishing she were still in the comfort of her bed*

At 6:30 Mary's alarm went, and it also woke up Anna because they shared a room. They both went downstairs and got to see Fayam had already left to get to the city hall. Fortunately he didn't clear the table from his breakfast, so they could get on with it quickly. After breakfast Mary went to get ready for her work at "The Anthro", while Anna stayed at home.
Fayam, in the meantime, already arrived at the city hall, wearing his green mayor outfit. The city hall was located near the central park, which had the emblem of Beastopia paved on it. The emblem carried a bear pawprint with a circle around it. It was also found on Fayam's outfit on one breast, but there a 5-pointed star surrounded it with "MAYOR" spelled in the points. His other breast had a name tag saying nothing but "Aerial".
-
*she walks through the doors of city hall to see Mr . Aerial looking over at her empty desk shaking his head in disappointment. Her heels click against the tile as she makes her way to her desk* I am SO sorry I'm late sir. So so sorry. I'll get busy right away *she tosses her purse into the filing cabinet below her desk and signs into the computer system. She bites her lip and prays that she will not be fired. She needs this job to pay for her schooling....and all of her bills*

Fayam no longer cared for the emblem. He passed it nearly every day anyway. Instead he headed in the city hall, and was greeted by the receptionist. He also expected to see his secretary there, but she wasn't present. He asked the receptionist: "Have you seen Secretary Tigre?" The receptionist had no option but to deny. Fayam sighed. "I'll be in my office," he said, and made for the stairs. At the end of the hallway was his office. He went in and bent over his paperwork.
Mary had left home already and cycled to the cafe, that was just a few blocks away. She went in and started making preparations for the day to start. At 7:30 she opened the cafe, ready for customers.
Anna at home went through the morning paper of Tuesday, 6 October. Not much interesting news. The weather forecast was more of use. It said: "TODAY: clouds and moderate winds. TOMMOROW: Rain, but weak wind." "Drat," Anna said, "Rain during my worktime. I hate that." It wasn't a secret felynes disliked water.
-
*sighs softly* I am so late... there's no way he's going to let this one slide... *she walks into city hall smiling she waves at the receptionist who informs her that the mayor had asked about her whereabouts. She paused her breath hitching in her through "this could be bad" she thought to herself. She walked over to her desk set her things down and grabbed some paperwork from her filing cabinet. Turning to the receptionist she mutters* wish me luck and walks toward the mayors office knocking lightly at the door*

The receptionist indeed warned Fayam about Marie's coming. He also asked the receptionist to send Marie to his office. When Fayam heard the knocking, he knew it'd be his secretary. "Come in!" he called, sliding the paperwork aside for the nasty conversation that would take place.
In the early hours few made use of the bar of "The Anthro", so Mary usually took a book with her to read in the back. Like usual the bar bell didn't ring at all. Just wait 'till the evening, Mary thought, Then I'll be making drinks for hours on end.
Anna simply relaxed at home. The street she lived at was a relatively calm one, but still plenty of traffic made its way through it.
-
*quietly entered the office head bowed and ears nearly flat against her head she slowly made her way to his desk, her heels clicking gently against the tile floor* i...*she stopped. She knew that she was in trouble and didn't wish to make it worse by speaking. The next words she spoke were soft and nearly inaudible* may I sit?

Fayam cast a piercing glance at Marie. He was known for being really direct. He sneered: "Have a seat." He paused for a bit. "You're late, Secretary Tigre," he continued, "and I want to know why. In this position you should be able to handle this responsibility." He stood up and started pacing around his office, but keeping a piercing glance at Marie.
Mary had already taken her book and submitted to the story.
Anna at home also took a book out.
-
*started playing with her tail nervously* I am so so sorry mayor aerial. I stayed up really late last night studying for finals. I have two this week and I really need to pass both to keep my financial aid. I promise you it won't happen again *she looks up to meet his eyes, hers soft green and glimmering slightly in the light* I can and will be responsible sir...I really love my job and the furs I work with. It's just been very difficult trying to balance work and school towards the end of this term...I only have one left until graduation. *her voice got softer and she looked to the floor again feeling rather disappointed in herself* please don't fire me.

Fayam turned his gaze to th floor and thought. After a while he turned back and said: "Perhaps you should've finished your school before applying for work here. But furtunately I won't fire you. I--" He got interrupted by someone knocking the door. "Who is there?" he yelled to it. "Your mail, mayor!" called the person back. That can only be the receptionist, Fayam thought.
-
*looking up from the floor* would you like me to fetch that for you? *she begins to leave her seat in front of the desk awaiting a response*

-
Fayam yelled to the receptionist: "Drop it on my desk, then." The receptionist threw a stack of letters on Fayam's desk. Then they looked at Marie with a much-saying gaze before leaving again. Fayam looked at Marie again, but his anger only partially subsided. "You're not going anywhere right now," he said to her.
-
*sits back in her chair speaking softly* I needed this job in the beginning for an internship I was working on but then it grew into something that I truly began to love. I love being here sir I really do. I didn't think that school would've ever interfered with my work up until this morning *her tail lay limp in her lap her ears still pressed flat against her head she still spoke softly* I understand that you're disappointed and angry with me *her eyes rise to meet his* but I can promise you that this won't happen again....even if that means that I have to move from my apartment to Sterling Square... I want to prove to you that I want this. I've always thought that you supported my decision to stay in school *she caught herself and fell silent*

Fayam thought about what Marie said. "Hmm..." he started slowly, "You're fortunate the trams here move at relatively high speed and that the tram station also lies near the central park, just like this building." He stopped here. "Ok. I think you're right. But don't let it happen again... or I'll have you sort the archives instead. Understood?"
-
*nods vigorously* thank you so so much. I can't tell you how much this means to me *stands up and reaches out her paw* you've given me a wonderful opportunity here and I will see to it that you won't regret your decision
Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk
-
Fayam couldn't help and gave away a small smile. "It's okay," he said, shaking Marie's paw. "Now, if you don't mind... I think we both still got some paperwork to do." He moved to his chair and sat down again.
-
*smiling she nods* I have some building permits on my desk that need your approval sir. Ones for a small coffee shop a couple want to build in R.R. and another is for the new grocery store *she walks with rapid pace to her desk gathering the permits and bringing them hastily back to the mayors desk* I received them last night before going home. Left them on my desk so I wouldn't forget to bring them to your attention. *she smiles softly her tail wafting around her in an almost playful manner her ears perking back up to their normal state, she is relieved and also overjoyed at her second chance to prove herself*
Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk
-
Fayam took the permit requests and gave them a thourough read. He took a pair of stamps from a drawer, and put a green "APPROVED" stamp on the coffee place and a red "DENIED" one on the grocery. He finished by adding some comments and set his handmark on both, and gave them back with the words: "I take you'll take care of these?" Then he turned to the letters brought in earlier.
-
*nods and leaves the mayor to his business going back to her desk and filing the permits accordingly. After that she turned to computer and started her usual daily routine* this....this is the life *she smiles to herself and keeps working away without distraction*
Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk
-
Fayam, in the meantime, handled every single letter accordingly. Complaints, compliments, requests... Everything passed the revue, just like usual.
Finally the bar bell rang. Mary torn herself away from the book and rushed to the bar. "Can I help you?" she asked to the customer, a penguin. "An Arctic Specialè," it said. Mary nodded and got working. Altough she coun't help thinking about how unusual it was to see arctic natives in Sterling Square.
-
*leans back in her office chair. The rush was starting to die down. The phones had been ringing off the hook all day. It was a very busy week. People getting permits, getting approval letters, recommendations, she looked at the clock and saw that it was almost time for lunch. She began to collect her things and paged the mayor* Mr. Aerial, I'm going to grab some lunch. Would you like me to pick up something for you to eat? *she released the receiver button and awaited her response*
Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk
-
Fayam distubedly looked up from his desk, at the phone. First he listened a bit uninterested. Then her words went through him. "Wait, did you just say lunch? My word, is it that time already?" He peeked at the wall clock. 11:53, it said. "Well, no, thanks Secretary. I got my own lunch packet. As usual." He knocked the horn down and started thinking out loud: "But still, I was so busy I didn't even look at the time! But then again, I'm running the biggest city on the planet. And keeping over 5,5 million residents happy is difficult, too... Not even to mention taking care of money business... Well..."
Mary and Anna also made lunch preparations. For Anna, it didn't mean anything today. But for Mary, it meant business coming up.
-
*shrugs and grabs her wallet. She had planned to walk to the cafe just down the street and grab herself the biggest cup of coffee they had available. At this point she was running on fumes. She walked across city hall out on to the front steps, stopping to admire the city for a brief moment before walking across the street and into the cafe*

-
Fayam took out his lunch and also took a break. He was kinda exhausted after the many letters he answered and the anthro's, people and whatever else visited him.
Mary quickly wolfed down her lunch and got ready to get any customer that might happen to pop up. Although most just got what they wanted from the counter a few wanted to have specialised drinks and beverages, and that's where Mary and her bar came in.
Anna could simply take her time for lunch. Today she was free. Tomorrow, however, would be as much as a nightmare, having to collect garbage in the rain...
-
*sitting outside enjoying the sunshine she began to piece at her half a sub sandwich and sipped her coffee. She made sure to keep her eye on the time so she wouldn't be late. She started to feel full as she finished her sandwich and washed it down with the last of her coffee. Disposing of her garbage she brushed the crumbs from her skirt and walked back up the steps of city hall returning to her desk to finish out the day*

Fayam already went throught he rest of the letters. Many they were.
Mary got the most business after dinner and could still take it easy.
Anna switched the TV on and watched the news. Little in Beastopia or even Animaland. The biggest item came from abroad: Plane crash in Anthropomorphica.
-
*answered the phone and looked at her computer screen* city hall this is kit *she chirped into the phone she winced when the voice on the other line boomed and hollered at her* I'm sorry you're upset sir but if you calm down I can assist you better *the anthro on the other lined continued to yell and then requested to speak with the mayor. She placed him on hold and paged the mayor* mr. Aerial there's a call for you on line 1. A very very unhappy citizen. He wouldn't calm down enough to tell me what the problem was but he requested to speak with you *she took her finger off the intercom*

Fayam heard Marie. He sighed: "Alright... Give them to me... Who are they, anyway?" Then, without anyone hearing: "Geez, everyone's complaining nowadays. Last month I had little but complaints. What am I doing wrong?"
Anna and Mary... Well, they were just taking it easy.

Name: Jeffery Sunders
Age: 23
Species: Human
Current Job: Anarchist, criminal
Current Adress: Iron Gate Prison
Jeffery sat alone in his prison cell. He gazed out of the cell's tiny window. It was a beautiful day. Jeffery had been sitting in his cell for the past 3 hours. He was getting increasingly bored, yet at the same time, he felt excitement. This would be the day he would break out of jail. He hadn't been this excited since the day he first became an anarchist. He enjoyed causing chaos and destruction. Jeffery smiled, thinking about it. He then proceeded to stand up and leave his cell.
"This city will be mine." He said to himself before exiting his cell.
-
Jeffery had been left out because it was exercise time again. The guards kept a close eye on the prisoners, making sure nobody would get it in their head to escape. Nobody dared, either. The guard were part of the police force, and police training involved strength, endurance and disciplin. They were, roughly said, speedy powerhouses that just wouldn't get tired.
Mary got a bit busier. Emphasising a bit.
Fayam heard the complaint with boredom. He tried to do the best for the city and its inhabitants. Unfortunately the city was currently in financial crisis. He thought a lot about what'd happen if he raised the taxes...

Name: Vauldis Fuerlib
Age: 26
Species: Wolf
Current Job: Mercenary
Current Adress:5 Polar Pass, Intriguing Icefields
Vauldis sighed as he stared out the window of his dingy dwelling, it was a medium sized apartment on the corner of his street. The view was to be expected, a snow covered road due to the snowy weather in the icefields with tiny pockets of ice forming on the window.
The wolf turned his attention to fhe matter at hand, he was running low on money. Business had been good for the last few years , however , with the recent arrest of many of his clients, work was scarce. He sighed as he pulled on his black trenchcoat and pulled up his hood "Perhaps I'll find some work today...." the mercenary muttered before pulling open the door of his appartment to enter the bitter snow and slamming it shut behind him.

*pressed the intercom* he wouldn't calm down enough to tell me any details sir. I'll patch him through *she pressed the button on the phone that would direct line 1 to the mayors office after she released the intercom. She looked up from her desk to see the delivery man holding a package addressed to the mayor* oh I can sign for that. *she signed for the package and bid the delivery owl good day. She set the package on her desk. It wasn't much bigger than the average book. She figured she would wait until he had completed his phone call before disturbing him again.*

Iron Gate had some of the most highly trained and highly equipped prison guards a prison could have. Escaping however, was nothing short of easy. A few months ago, a notorious crime lord known as The Shark was transferred to Iron Gate. Jeffery had never heard of this guy, but every other inmate cowered at the mention pf his name. Within one month, The Shark had taken over the prison. He was able to bribe every single guard into his service. No one dared to go against him. Jeffery saw this as a perfect opportunity to escape. But first, he had to make a deal with Shark.
-
This time around an elephant guided Jeffery- one wrong move and he'd be their chair. The guy known as "Shark" was in fact named Rudy Grudgeberg, a so-called "9-star criminal", getting locked up for the 12th time. He looked fearsome, but he was clever and knew exactly how the prison worked. He once even managed to smuggle a weapon in and break out the next day.
***
Fayam heared the raging citizen. They were speaking fast, and thus unclear. "Can you speak slower? I can't understand a word you're saying!" he interrupted.
Anna took a afternoon nap.
And Mary? Every now and then someone came to order specialised drinks, but nothing serious. The peak commonly came after dinner.
