Me and my like 2 year friend were talking via skype and she mentioned to me
"why do people hate on furries by bringing up bestiality? like what does that have to do with wearing a furry suit?"
And that led me to wonder what you guys here think about it?
In no way am I trying to bring negativity here, I am just curious on how people respond. (plus I HATE when anti-furries say this crap)

Well, I've been lucky enough to never have an encounter with a furry hater. Despite me being on Facebook and such. Bestiality is wrong, well... maybe not wrong. But definitely not a good thing. Even us furries know that. So their argument is invalid.

I've encountered a lot but honestly all of them are pathetic. So it makes my ego grow when they talk smack~
The thing is that because we are weird. Now I'm not saying this to be mean but we are. There's nothing really normal about being a furry and we know that (dressing up in suits, making animal human art, roleplaying as these creatures) however that doesn't give people the privilege to make fun, spread rumors, or assuming rather than looking deeper. It's just we are different and society isn't very accepting. People want to fit in, be 'normal'

I honestly laugh it off and kindly tell them to educate them selves just like I do with Vaping. But if they seem like they have any common sense I welcome them to ask questions to get answers.

I ignore it unless they are really obnoxious about it, then I threaten to give them free neck adjustment if the don't shut up (woops I turn head to far)

Come come, what good would said violence do to our fandom? Remember we already have targets on out backs.

Beastiality and the furry fandom are 2 different subjects.
Some people dont understand the fandom and never will. People have been dressing like animals for thousands of years, its nothing new. People outside the fandom will always ask that question about beastiality when discovering the fetishist corner of the community. Do some partake in beastiality because theyre furries? Or do some people claim to be furries because they commit beastiality? I hope not but its not impossible and a matter of whatever floats one's boat.
I describe the fandom to people as creative expression through anthro characters. Some people like to draw, some people like to act and dance, and some people are just here to watch. Everyone is diffferent but Ive rarely heard cases or furries commiting beastiality. The fandom is a hobby and for some, a means for identity. Beastiality is a fetish or sexual attraction to animals. Many people who commit beastiality are not furries. There is no evidence to support a correlation between people who commit beastiality and being part of the furry fandom.

I appreciate the civil discussion in this thread, however these topics are best left to the adult board it's very likely people will overstep their bounds and begin breaking rules within this topic. Locked.
