Title: Anyone up for a D&D/Pathfinder kind of thing?
Post by: Yachiru the unforgiven on May 20, 2016, 03:22:28 PM
Testing an idea here. I'm thinking of starting a D&D group here so we can do it online but we would still need have the character creation sheets and an app to roll dice or actual dice. I know people won't be available all the time so the time thing will not matter. You can take as long as you like to take your turn. Again I'm just testing an idea I have. All other rules will remain the same.

I would be interested. I have limited Pathfinder experience but I have played (and run) a lot of DnD 3.5e. I have played and run games through play-by-post too.

If this gets off the ground I can point you towards some stuff that I have used before for sheets and dice. Maps too, if you would like.

O_O well. I am pleasantly surprised. I was actually expecting never getting a response to this. On response to halei, pathfinder and DnD are practically the same but just with different classes and slightly different rules. I'm not sure 100% about my description as I haven't played in years. Had an alchemist too although can't remember the stats of him to save my life. Anyway, I should have a sheet for my self either tomorrow or the next day. Only problem is how would we use the books or bestiary, we would all need a .PDF file of the book we are using and one for the bestiary as well as one for(classes, magic/skills and whatnot) or as I like to call it "the character Bible" as some of them are freaking massive. Sorry for the slight rant if it is one.

There might be a system reference document for Pathfinder like there are for DnD 3.5e somewhere on the internet. I might be able to locate one.

EDIT: Try this one: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/)

That'll work. It has anything you need to know about the rules and class setups as well. That'll definitely work.

I would be interested in this too.

D20 is a good platform for doing it, basically allows you to do online tabletop RPGs

Would using the d20 site make it easier to do this sort of thing?

Oops I meant Roll20, and yeah I'd say so. It's not too hard to learn, has a thing to calculate rolls and such. I find it to be quite useful.

Alright. Is there anything else we need?

PCGen makes creating characters easy. I'd say a skype group would be needed so we can communicate and not have to rp through text.

A GM and a campaign to do wouldn't go amiss too :p

Alright. We just need to get everything set up and we're good to go. We should do Skype would make it easier rather than clogging up the thread with random messages.

FYI if it is over Skype I won't be able to do it. Play-by-post is what I would be able to manage these days, sadly. But hey, it looks like you have some other people anyway, so if I can't make it you shouldn't have any issues with player count. :)
