Title: Ask me what you want
Post by: Bricket on May 09, 2016, 08:38:43 AM
Hello, I've seen others also have opened similar threads so I thought: why not me too?

Here you can ask all the questions you want to ask me (although I don't think a lot people would have questions for me  :P )
Anyway, if you have a question: shoot!  :D

Alistair: basically I keep myself busy with modeltrains but I also restore old steamtrains and trams.

Spike: I don't drive a car, however I can drive trams built between 1908 and 1971 but also steamtrains and old dieselengines

Does that require a license? If so, how do you get one?

The operating service is a bit illegal, let's say everyone knows but everyone also knows that no one knows.

For the touristic trains you indeed have to get a license: you need to be medical checked up but also have to be mentally tested.
When you've got that you will have a license that states that you are allowed to be trained to a traindriver on touristic trainlines.
The training itself for a certain locomotive type can vary between 1 year (shunting) to 4 years (steamengine)
