Title: Tales from Underway
Post by: Rayleonarde on March 10, 2016, 03:50:41 PM
Welcome to Underway, a rather large city filled with all the characters from any and all fairy tales, kinda like The Wolf Among Us, 'cept every character is themselves, furry-fied of course. So, let's get our cast list.

CAST:
 Little Red Riding Hood.
 The Big Bad Wolf
 Three Little Pigs
 Puss in Boots
All the cast from the Legend of Sleepy Hallow.
And more to come (I'm very tired.)
 Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dumb
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Story:
Underway has been relatively quiet, though recently a few murders have cropped up. Unsure of where to start, our stalwart police force, consisting of the Seven Dwarves, along with their captain Snow White, have turned to the citizens for answers. The Big Bad Wolf, now Jefferson B. Wolf, is the biggest, baddest boss in the city. Operating from his club 'The Den' B. Wolf and his gang 'The Pack' have tried to take advantage of the confusion, and have started taking protection money from store owners. Not a problem in it's own right, the added pressure doesn't help. But, as for the story, who's killing people, why? Is B. Wolf in on the murders? Does it go farther than just him?

Rules:
The obvious; no god-moding, no Sue's, no explicit romance. And try not to off anyone without giving them a chance.  Try to refrain from wanton destruction, takes quite the pretty penny to rebuild a city.

((This might be kinda pokey, I've not gone to sleep. Anyway, I'll try and keep this as interesting as possible!))

((Alright! Let's start!))

Jefferson B. Wolfe, the Big Bad Wolf of lore, sat in his office, knurled paws folded in front of him. Some no-body just recently got offed; face torn from their body. Not new to the Wolf, he found himself in a strange position; the police were on edge, officers on every street combing for evidence. This made Wolfe's job very stressful, trafficking was getting difficult, and cash was tight.

Meanwhile...

In her office, the vixen that was Little Red Riding Hood, had her phone in paw as Granny Hood told her all that had happened. No suspects yet, and  the body held no clues. Granny Hood's gang, the Red Riders, were busy trying to keep eyes on Wolfe's 'Pack', and avoid the cops at the same time. Granny Hood was in her condo near the city's beachside, a cigar gripped between her near skeletal claws. An old gangster at heart, Granny knew that honor was the best policy.

Meanwhile...

Ray climbed out of his car in the back lot of the bank he worked at. He sighed, as he wandered in, and looked for his locker. His uniform and gun inside, he wanted to make an impression on his first day, and dressed to kill.

((That's fine, Alka. As long as you think your character can swing it.))

(Alright. I don't think it will be too hard, so long as we don't have a weird day-night cycle)

Alka was sitting in his office, having a coffee and reading the daily newspaper. Sheesh... Someone's trying to send one hell of a message... And just when things were starting to get peaceful... Well, as peaceful as we CAN get. He took a long sip of his cappuccino and sighed. Wonder who's gonna be next... The wolf thought idly as he counted the minutes until he needed to get up to go give yet another lecture.

Cabur sat in his vehicle, cleaning his recently acquired FN P90. Humming a tune from his warrior upbringing. All of a sudden he stopped cleaning " Well this is brilliant of me. I'm in a new town and where do I pick to clean my weapons? Not in a corner of a parking lot where no one would think anything of a vehicle, but behind the store in between two trailers. Brilliant" He puts away the weapon and climbs up to the driver seat to move to a better spot.

Zaida remained outside of the cafe with a cappuccino and croissant that had a few bites in it. She was painting with water color, leaned down, focused on the crow skull she painted. The Vexū putting more detail on the shading and shine. After a few minutes she closed the book and sighed through her nose taking a drink of her the caramel coffee.

The clerk in the police station, a female doberman, huffed at Cabur's question. "Three years on the force, and acing firearms training."

"Three years and two months with an Army unit with MP as my specialty. Multiple combat deployments. Expert marksman rating. A couple medals. I have the documents to prove it, how much closer does that put me?"

The clerk shook her head. "Military documents don't mean anything in this district," she sneered, "shooting people is what we aim not to do."

After a while, several wolves stormed the bank, and after a few minutes, had slipped out with a substantial amount of cash, with Ray and a majority of the civilians on the floor, paws zip-tied together behind their backs.

Cabur just happened to be walking in that general area, and saw the last guy hop into the vehicle. As the vehicle sped off, he deployed his mini Uzi, and slipped quietly into the bank, ready for a fight, and started clearing it. When he came upon Ray, he asked "Are they all gone?"

Post by: Rayleonarde on March 22, 2016, 12:56:55 PM
Ray nodded. "Yeah, get me outta these ties." Spotting the machine-pistol, Ray shrunk back. "Or are you lookin' for easy pickings?"
Title: Re: Tales from Underway
Post by: Rocco Rex on March 22, 2016, 02:17:40 PM
Cabur smiled as he slung the weapon. "If I wanted easy pickings, wouldn't I have already grabbed them" He asked while pulling out a knife and cutting Ray free. "Help me free the others" he said to the newly freed Ray, handing him another knife.
Title: Re: Tales from Underway

Ray began cutting the civilians free, just as the police arrived. Several uniformed officers, from dogs to cats, stormed inside, and quickly canvased the area for clues. The young raccoon sighed, and took a seat. "So...we've been robbed, and no-one knows by who."

"I only saw their vehicle" Cabur said "White mini van, no plates. Didn't catch the make or model. Anything you need from me, or shall I leave?" He asked, concealing the mini Uzi.

After the events at the bank subsided, Alka dismissed everyone from the lecture theatre for a quick break. He simply sat down, still inside the theatre, and thought idly to himself. They're asking lots of questions, and nearly everyone was taking notes. This is good... People might actually graduate from psych this year. Either that or realise all their time and effort could be spent on something a whole lot let theoretical. I'll hope for the first option...

Ray sighed, and shook his head. After a while, the police returned, and looked to Ray. One officer spoke up. "Sir? We...we think we got your money. And your perps." Ray blinked, and followed the officers.

As the police led Ray to what they found, he felt himself getting anxious. When they found what they were looking for, Ray nearly vomited. Four had-been wolves sat in a circle, each facing towards the middle, shot right between the eyes, the back of their heads painted red; the Red Riders' calling card. But why such a brazen strike in the middle of the day? Ray had no clue; the Pack and the Riders had been seeing eye to eye for a while. A few scuffles here and there, but nothing that warranted this. Ray was worried; if the Riders and the Pack were killing them in such a manner, it only meant one thing; war.

B. Wolfe was livid, his Pack telling him what happened. He had already crushed a glass in his paw, and was eyeing the amber liquid splayed across his desk. "Why would Red make such an affront," he asked himself. "We were doing so good for so long. Well...guess the times are changing." Wolfe cleared his throat, and grabbed his phone. Dialing his lieutenants, the large gray wolf spoke, his voice both stern and commanding. "Little Red wants a war, and we're gonna give it to her."

Little Red was reading the news, when she came across these murders. "What's this now?" She perused the article slowly, taking in every word, before shouting "I didn't order this!" The little vixen threw the newspaper into her fireplace, and paced. "Someone's copy-catting, why? What psychopath wants a war between me an' the wolf?" Little Red was worried; she inherited the gang from her grandmother, who was somewhere on her island soaking up rays and scotch. After a few more minutes of pacing, the vixen sat back down, just as her lieutenants arrived. "Ladies and gentlmen. Someone's framed us, and I sense the wolf is looking for revenge. Tell our guys to be safe, and keep their heads down, no need to cause an unnecessary outbreak of violence."

Clover was I her warehouse when she got a message through her window. She read it and ripped it to shreds.
"What is that red thinking!? Killing some of our boys was stupid...whatever. Looks like we're going to see action my old friend. " Clover says talking to her lead pipe, which was actually the infamous hammer of catastrophes.

After the lecture was done and over with, Alka slung his suit over his shoulder, ready to head home. I get the feeling the recent killings have just been a sign of worse to come. Not sure why Red or Wolfe would want to fight, but here we are, at the start of what will most probably end up with me dying at the hands of a stray bullet. Ugh... I need a shot. Alka was interupted by one of his nerdier students and rolled his eyes. Make that two...

Fighting erupted in the street outside the Den, with Red Riders trying to remove as many Pack members as possible. There were no guns being drawn, just pipes and bats.

Cabur was just cruising around town when he happened to drive by the fight. "Well" he said to himself "I'd say I get to test my new toy." He pulled off to the side of the road and started snapping photos of the fight, including zoomed in photos of their faces.

The roar of a motorcycle could be heard as a beautiful looking white cat drove up to the scene wielding a massive cruel looking hammer. She drove straight into the crowd of reds and slammed her hammer in the ground right in the center of them. All of the sudden a fire hydrant erupted with water and sprayed down a bunch of reds to the ground, making them easy targets for the pack members who ran up and started pummeling them. One red recognized the rider and shouted.
"Its Fortune Thief Clover!"
Clover did a quick U--turn as she drove her bike in for another swing.

The police arrived on the scene, and brandished their fire-arms at the fighting crowd. "On the ground!" Several thugs immediately dropped to the floor, and others were folded over on the floor, unconscious. A few police officers were aiming at Clover, as a squadcar was pulled into her path.

Clover laughed as the guns were pointed her way. Normal guns didn't work against her due to her control over luck as they could randomly jam or miss every single shot. They would need a magic gun to get through her luck aura so she simply drove straight at the blockade.

After Alka was done with the student, he grabbed his things and got onto his bike. Hmmm... I wonder if I'll be called upon to speak or something. I do know a little about everyone, what with how easily information spreads if you ask the right people. The wolf began riding his bike, adjusting the gears as he started on the route back home

The police had various charms sewn into their vests, hoping to keep luck on their side, but to no avail. Several guns jammed, a few others misfired, and two exploded. The cars, however, sat firmly in the street, not going anywhere.

As bike just crashed into the police car, Clover used the momentum of the crash to give a massive boost into the air and started flying away.

Alka continued riding but stopped suddenly as he saw Clover lying unconscious on the floor, bleeding from her leg. Better judgement says leave it alone. Al, better judgement. Better judge- ah screw it. Probably got shot up by one of the currently warring factions. A little bit of a patch up couldn't hurt anyone... Especially me. However as Clover laid there unconscious her beautiful appearance starts to fade, revealing how ugly she was. Her long blonde hair turned dark grey, her teeth looked sharp and gnarly, her back hunched up and her fingers looked like long claws. Worst of all she started to smell a little like rotten fruit.

The bullet wound however was the bigger issue and lucky for her the bullet had passed right through and wasn't embedded in her thigh. The bleeding wasn't to bad but it was still enough to be a concern.

Alka rolled his eyes. This is what happens when you don't listen to your better judgement dumbass... I guess I am obliged to save the old woman. No way she could've run from a crime scene with a bullet hole bleeding that much. Alka put down the stopper for the bike and sighed. "Sorry boys, but I can't say I believe you. So, before I disable every weapon in your drawn arsenal, stand down and allow me to attend to her wounds." Alka looked around taking in the weapons, their barrels and the police people holding them. If I do not regret doing this, it'll be because I'll wake up, be at home in my armchair, reading my book with a half-empty glass of wine nearby.

She didn't like being called old because she wasn't...but she didn't want to drag someone innocent down to her level even if they are insulting her.

"Wait, you're with Wolfe? Shit. So, things really are going down." Alka closed his eyes considering his options. This is bad. I'm going to be associated with Wolfe now. I got caught defending one of his people. Which'll probably surprise Wolfe too... Ugh, what to do, what to do. I can't be caught taking a side, and yet I've already threatened the police. Well, I have one of too options. Preserve my current social status, or get fired from my day job. Alka gritted his teeth and sighed, kneeling down and ripping some of his jacket off, before beginning to roll it around her bullet wound.

About then a slight roar, like that of an engine, tore through the air. A figure dressed in full black Mandalorian armor landed next to Dr. Wolf. He bent down pulling out a small box, and pulled out an Israeli Battle Dressing (IBD) "I got this. Sit rep" as he started to bandage the leg.

The hammers on various weapons clicked, as the police took aim. "One last chance, back away now! We'll get her medical attention, but we need you to move!" One officer radioed in an ambulance, and after a few minutes the medics arrived.

"Not until she's patched up. But don't worry, she isn't going anywhere." He called back to the cops. "I'll patch you up, but you aren't escaping."

When the EMTs arrived, he allowed them to take over. "Bullet wound to the leg, went through. No major bleeding. IBD applied six minutes ago, no tourniquet needed. Just tell me if you need me."

Alka was slightly annoyed at the cops. "Ah, give it a rest. Jeez, I didn't know it was procedure to shove a stick up the arses of every deployed fur. Just making sure she doesn't get infection is all." Once the medics arrived, Alka stepped back and eyed Rocco for a second, cocking an eyebrow. "Umm... If I'm allowed to put my two-bits in, I'd say she's lost a fair amount of blood actually. As for other damages caused, two stitches will be needed to the entry and exit holes, but that's all I'd expect. Unless the bullet was large enough to also pass through some bone."

((Can I just say, that is the fastest ambulence response I have ever seen :P))

The paramedics nodded, and gently placed Clover on a gurney, before hauling here away to the back of the ambulance. After a few moments, they sped off, and the police ran back to their cars, to follow along.

Alka sighed. He was somewhat glad that he didn't have to bring his Five-SeveNs out, but also kind of worried of what was to come. She, who was working with Wolfe, got assaulted 4 people. Presumably of Red. Who else would it be? This does not bode well for either Red or Wolfe. And... maybe they both know it. Wolfe would've been too gung-ho to see too far down the line, but Red wouldn't try to cross him. Ugh... Alka stopped his trail of thought there, realising he had to get back home, and just shrugged it off as him over-thinking things. Without saying a word to Rocco, he pulled up the stand for his bike and hopped on, slowly riding back on the trail back home.

"I've seen worse. Much worse. Major arteries were avoided so she hasn't technically lost that much blood." He replied. After she was taken away, he turned to him  while taking off his helmet and said "I'm new here. Would you mind giving me a little heads up about this place?"

Clover was laying in bed at the hospital her leg stitched up. Her hammer had been confiscated and two police officers were to exchange posts guarding her.  She knew her hammer wasn't gone forever, it was bonded to her after all. However calling it would be stupidly obvious and the guards were given magic guns with silver bullets....so she was kind of screwed.

(I am going to give a little more background on Clover, mostly cause I am bored.)

Clover was stil sitting in her bed reading a book when she heard her window open.
She saw nothing at first until a tiny head poke out from under her bed. It was a gremlin more specifically a pugwampi named Gug, who was the second in command of her own personal gang of fairies, The Broken Mirrors.

The Broken Mirrors used to be an independent gang a few years ago until they were absorbed into the Pack. However they will never do anything Wolfe says without Clover's approval as they believe she is the mortal incarnation of Boba Mockna, Godess of misfortune, calamities and gremlins who is actually supposed to be long dead. Whether or not this is true, Clover does wield the infamous Hammer of Catastrophes, Boba Mockna's Unholy Artifact which is supposed to be buried deep in the dark forest. So is it very possible she is somehow related to the dark fairy goddess, whether as an incarnation or some other means.

So Gug flashed some hand signals to tell  Clover the gang was here to rescue her and she gives him a wicked smile. As the two police posted to guard her look into a room to see what the noise was, two Jinkin gremlins pop out of invisibility and take hold of the officers magic guns. The Jinkins get knocked aside as the police draw their guns to shoot them, but as they do that the guns explode in their face. The thing about Jinkins is they have the power to completely wreck the properties of magic items.

The guards stumble to the ground which is 6 Nuglubs come rushing down the hallway to beat them up. Nuglubs where the largest breed of Gremlin a
standing about half the size of a normal person and pretty muscular. While the nuglubs knock out the police, a whole bunch of Vexit gremlins rush in to start pushing Clovers bed out the door. Gig presents Clover her hammer and she crackles as her and her gang escape the hospital.

(Here are pictures of all the gremlins in clovers gang. The first is a Jinkin, the second is a Nuglub, the third is a pugwampi, and the fourth is a Vexgit.)

Tweedledee and Tweedledum were wrestling inside the office beside the Sheriff, as they handled the cases of other story-book characters.

"We surround the place. We drench it in tear gas and light it on fire in as many spots as possible. You have snipers all over the place ready to nail anyone who comes out. We don't care about taking them alive, we shoot to kill every time. Then, when they are all dead or dying, we move in and see if we can capture anyone, but first we knee cap them. It's brutal and probably illegal, but it is the best plan with what we have. Unless if you are willing to have me unleash nerve gas in the city, which even I think is stupid.

Another option is I disappear and start taking them out one by one, day by day. I would have zero contact with you, and some civilians would die.

Or we could contact a different big gang and try to solicit their help, but then you're tossing in with criminals.

Those are our best options. Or I could just leave if you prefer."

"...I think you should leave. They may be criminals but slaughtering them is out of the question and would really make us look bad in the eyes of the public. Also an assault that large may eventually draw in the Pack and suddenly were fighting two gangs. As for killing them one by one, clover is bound to notice if a few of her gremlins go missing and will probably blame either the reds or us causing more problems. Lastly I might as well throw my position away if I was caught working with any gangs. So yeah all those plans are out of the question and if you follow up on any of them I will take your badge and have you thrown out of the force!"

Walking over to the counter, he pulled out a beer glass and poured a full cup. "Not sure how much we're pricing this. I'll just say it's $8 cause it's non-alcoholic."

The police chiefs each set eight dollars on the counter, and looked up at Alka. Dum spoke before his brother could. "Another, please?"

Alka cocked an eyebrow. "Forget that there are two of you." He pulls out another cup and pours it to the top. "Two erm... Whatever this is," he eyes the bottle as he says this, "Enjoy." The wolf pushes the cups in Dum and Dee's direction and pours himself a shot of whatever was under the counter, before quickly downing it and tensing up. "So.... You were saying you needed help?"

The police chiefs both downed their drinks in a single go, and Dee spoke up. "Yeah...we're pretty much sunk." Dum chimed in afterwards. "We don't have enough guys to cover the streets." They then asked in unison. "You know anyone that'd help?"

"Well... Not sure about prosecution or anything but..." Alka pulls out a shot glass smaller than his pinkie and sets it down, before taking 10 paces away from it, turning, pulling out his revolver and blasting it to pieces. "I'd be happy to lend a gun here and there. In the name of justice, that is. Not too bad of a shot, if I'd say so myself." The wolf grinned as he bowed

The chiefs looked at each other, and then Alka. "You're in. Ask your friends, too. But don't tell 'em we're lookin' for people."

Ray wandered into Alka's bar, and sat across the counter from the chiefs, staring at the wood-work.

"My lips are sealed officers." Alka said as he walked over to the shattered pieces of glass and looked over at Ray. "Welcome. What can I get you tonight?" He called out as he began scooping up the various small shards

Ray thought a moment. "A diet soda, if you would."

Alka cocked an eyebrow, as he placed the shards into the bin. "One cup of boring, coming right up. $2.50 for that one." He pulled out a large Coca-Cola glass and a Diet Coke, before emptying the contents of the can into the glass

Ray placed the money on the counter, and nodded. "I don't drink." He took a sip of the soda.

"Sucks to be you then my friend." Alka shrugged, put the money into the till and began cleaning some more glasses. "At the very least, Alcohol'll put you to sleep before it starts poisoning you. Fizzy drinks go straight to messing with your heart."

Ray shrugged. "Maybe, but I'm none-too-kind when I get schwifty." He took another sip, before asking. "What's the word about town?"

The police chiefs had, at some point, left, leaving a tip on the counter.

Alka closed his eyes to think. "People are dying left right and centre. Gang wars. Seems Red and Wolfe are at eachother's necks for some reason. Streets aren't as safe as they used to be." Alka put away the now clean glasses.

Ray nodded. "Yeah...but when there's a bunch of crazies out there..." He shrugged, and took another drink.

Alka leant against the counter. "I, personally, think their is an instigator. Someone who doesn't belong to either Red or Wolfe. Neither leader would try to start anything, considering how much easier things are for them when they don't. And then, just out of no-where, both teams want the other dead. Seems a bit sketchy to me..."

Ray shrugged. "Yeah, I dunno...it's all so sudden."

After a while of following the thugs, Cabur decided to just leave, they were just hanging out anyway. And he had other bug data to analyze back home anyway. So, he just slipped away from tailing them and started the walk back home.

The group, after goofing around, started towards an abandoned warehouse. They slipped in through two bent bars in the fencing, and entered the warehouse proper.

"Well" he said when he got home and analyzed the data "I'd say this is a  LOI. Maybe I should pay a little visit tonight" he continued to shift through his other taps and bugs "Huh. Let's see just how willing those two are. If they want this town cleaned up, they'd better be ready for a firestorm."

Cabur changed into a 'borrowed' mail carrier uniform, dyed some of his fur, put a different colored pair of contact lenses in, typed up a letter, put a USB drive in, sealed it and made it look proper, and went to the bar. He went straight to the front and Alka and in a bored voice asked "Hey, you doctor Wolf?"

Alka raised both his eyebrows. "I'd say, it depends who's asking, but it's not much of an identity to protect in the first place. To answer your question, yes, but my practise is closed this late. You'll have to come in tomorrow. In the mean time, interested in a drink?"

"Ugh, I'd love one, but I still have the rest of my route" he said patting his mail bag "Which reminds me, I was instructed to deliver this personally" he said handing Alka a large manila envelope. "But you can bet I'll be back here later" he said as he turned to walk away

Alka took the package. "Strange... I wasn't expecting anything. But umm... Thanks, I guess." Alka hid the package below the counter. He'd take it home to look at later.
