I found the fandom because one day I randomly searched YouTube for videos about furries. First one I watched was by Majira Strawberry, and I instantly felt an incredible peace, joy, happiness, and sense of ... I'm not sure what to call it. Stronger then belonging, but that is the closest I can get. I had been going through a rough period, and I truly believe that it was God bringing me here, I hadn't even heard of furries before.
Man, that was only five weeks ago. I have found so much in that time. People, music, stories, videos, a new purpose, interests. Heck, the fandom is what got me into using the Internet for more then college and news. I have discovered more about people in this time period then... dare I say my life? I have found qualities that I never knew existed in me. I have realized that people that are total opposites can coexist. I have realized life is so far from what it seems. I have become a far better person. I have something besides my studies and surviving each day to look forward to. I have found that I can be a decent human. I have been accepted. I have laughed, cried, and been more excited then I have been in... ever? I see light, and I feel the light. I can think for myself. I have a refuge that I can go to, even though I have to hide it. I'm home.

In fandoms based off of movies, books, or games, your characters are always going to revolve around the story in some way. Here, furries are just an art style so you can do pretty much whatever you want with them.

You can make friends very easily, also you have lots of fun posting, roleplaying (though I'm literally a noob at roleplaying, since I have never done this) :( and chatting with others.
