Title: MDK 3D Meshes (WIP)
Post by: FoxyMcCloud on November 15, 2007, 08:10:26 AM
Just to show what I've been up to lately... :)

Open in order - Helmet, gun, pointy thing?:

These are fan made models that will most likely be showing up in the MDK Halo Mod Summer 2008. Mesh is completely made my me and I plan on texturing it soon enough. Gah! UVW Maps are annoying!

PS In case you have no clue where these are from, I suggest you take a look here:

...And here:

PSS I MIGHT make convert these into usable things for IMVU. I dunno, depends on whether I'm up to learning a new way of submitting products. :yeah-yeah:

Seems to have quite a few polygons or it's "smoothed/subdivided"
IMVU's graphics engine doesn't support that kind of feature though.
Too bad.

How does it look without any smoothing?

Kinda like this:

The only thing that really has all too many polygons is the curved area in the back. The entire setup probably adds up to the same polycount as some of the more detailed accessories on IMVU.

If you don't think it looks bad without the smoothing then you'd be able to reduce the amount of polygons
simply by using squares in most places instead of triangles. Well, I mean for flat areas that can be "de-tripled" without messing it up.
