How do you become a moderator?

You'd probably have to wait for a forum post by an admin saying "MODERATOR APPLICATIONS OPEN" then apply.

It's there if you look. You submit an application to WingedZephyr or the like and they'll review it, and see if you're fit to administrate.

Most admins are around 20 years old, and have some tech Experience. So I think being that will increase your chances, though I think there's no real demand for admins.

I was just wondering mainly. I don't wanna be a moderator (at least not at the moment.) I was just interested.

Yeah, I was curious once. Maybe in like, 6 years or so I'll apply.

long and tedius process just ask ive asked the same thing

they pick everything you have done apart and everyone votes on who's the best fit for the position

i may not have as many posts as others but i have been here a good bit and know that its not what everyone thinks it is and how they just become mod overnight

I'd just like to say that I never once actively applied to be a moderator. Wingedzephyr and Tweak simply picked me to serve the role. So while you can easily inquire within, behaving and being an overall trustworthy and competent member can also net you a position.

Okay that's pretty cool to know as well.

To further add on Nick's statement from my own personal experience, you can also ask to become a staff member if you're showing to be a good forum member in general and are showing to be very observant in reporting as well.

Yeah Admins ask you to be a moderator, not the other way around.

And, based on some things, I sort of doubt they'll be asking for new mods anytime soon.

However, in case they do, just follow my "Three P's"

Productive: Be a productive member, help around the forum, help other members and just be a generally caring and helpful guy
Professionalism: Don't break the rules, when you see someone break the rules don't fix it yourself, report it to the mods. When drama happens handle it in as easy of a way as you can.
Passion: Be passionate about the forum, it's gotta be really a part of you, something you're willing to dedicate a significant portion of time to. Be an active member, post around the forum lots, just generally be passionate about your forum experience.

If you follow these three P's, then I'm sure you'll be considered if Zeph or tweak decide new mods are in order.

When is the last time a moderator was appointed?

Good question, I'd say something like a year ago, maybe a bit longer, can't give an exact date

The last mod I remember being appointed was a guy by the name of Cho'Gath. No, not the LoL hero. That was a good bit more than a year ago, though. Probably mid/late 2014.
