Title: Need advices for my Fursona

Hi, all !
For sometime now (in the Week-end and yesterday) I "worked" on my Fursona (I never created a character in that way before), I watched about 80 wikipedia posts about more or less recent species (It's time consumming dammit), but no scalies or flying/swimming animals. At first I watched the general look of it and kept 24 species :
8 Canidae
4 Genet (I'm not sure for that)
9 Felinae
2 Weasel
1 Stoat


That's a lot, the next step is looking at the specification of each one and select only one.


And the first question I've asked to myself is : Is that the best way to proceed ?
Maybe I should have worked in a different way, but it took some much time and energy to do that...
I know that I have a problem, I'm too perfectionnist, so I will take time and I will be difficult.


So I need your advices, how you made your Fursona ? Should I do something else ?
I need your experience and your guidance fellow furs  :D




I already thank you for reading all that, and if you help me, I thank your patience.
(I just hope that I placed this post in the correct place, I don't want an admin on my tail  :/ )

What's wring with avians? :P


When I made my fursona, I looked for an animal that "felt right" and that I felt represented me symbolically. Takes a bit of searching and looking around but you'll find one.

Don't worry Razot, nothing wrong about avians, just not my type (for me I mean)  :P


Well, I have work if I want to have a Fursona that I like, I'm too hard to satisfy  :/

I would probably be more help but I don't know enough about you to try throwing you in the right direction.
Outside of the natural animal kingdom, some people have gone with things like Dragons and Sergals.

Perhaps make your own new species or a mix of two like a Gryphon

I've thought about the sergals, They look nice, but I'm not sure.
Dragons are nice too, but I don't feel it

Some people go for very elaborate designs. I keep mine simple and as true to the animal as possible :P
The nice thing about sergals and dragons though is that there's no preset colour scheme you need to follow.


Have you ever had a favourite animal?
Are you perhaps holding back on a choice because it's a popular fursona?
You know you can have more than one fursona :P

Well, popular or not, I don't care, since in the canidae section, there is 7 kinds of foxes and a "dhole", the last one is not usual, but I see a lot of foxes, so I may take something more accurate of what I want. for example I have the Corsac fox, which is fluffy as [biiip]...  :o
Foxes are surely my favourites, but for years it has been wolves, but not anymore.


And I know about the multiples Fursonas, but I want to keep just one for myself. I prefer one that I have worked on for weeks or months than 3/4 that I've done in few days. That's how I roll  ;)


I think It will be a canidae, most of them have pointy ears, and I think it look cool  B)




But I have time for that I guess

For my fursonas, they popped into my head doing something random and I developed them from that point with the impression I got from their personality.

That probably doesn't help ;-;

All advices are good to takes (just need to be careful sometime, here it's not needed, you're all nice)  :P

(double posting like a Terribly Huggable Unrespecting Guy, a THUG (I'll show myself out now))
After some work and few decisions, I quickly removed many of the species I chosed, because I wanted to (that's how it work now, okay ? :P ). And after reflection, I chosed...

The Corsac Fox

It's so fluffy I'm gonna die ! (almost)
I feel like it's going great with me, maybe I'm not as majestic as him but, I do whatever I want  >:3




Now, the rest of it, I have my idea about some markings, but now the problem is about the colors and their patterns.
Should I chose natural ones ? Maybe i shouldn't ?
So yeah, as usual, I'm asking for advices that might help me ^^
