So I made my first thread, in the Introduce me section. Basically, I am 100% new at this. Yes I am a "noob" :/ Anyway, I need advice as the where do I start? I have an idea for the colors of the species I am, but I don't know what species I am. how to choose one. If anyone can help me out a little, that would be amazing! So, thanks in advance! ^_^

Well, what aspects of yourself do you want your fursona to portray? Once you figure that out, take a look at a number of animals and what traits they exemplify. Wolves are very family-centric, focused on teamwork. Tigers are powerful yet loners, methodical and such. Or look for an animal that you like the look of. Also, you can look at blending two species together, hybrids.
-
You can start anywhere you like.
In fact, there should be a thread on this to help you along your way...
*looks up*
Here ya go, hope this helps?

If you want some visual help, you can use the links in my signature to look at some fursona generators. They have several different options to look at including mecha versions of different animals.
-
Well to be honest it is entirely up to you? What are some animals you like? Same question for color? It's a reperesentation of you so you need to make it yours. :)
-
Wow ^_^ thanks you guys, I do have a lot to look up, as far as colors, mine would be green and blue (most favorite colors of mine). Thanks for looking that up Ventus! Rob, I def like that hybrid idea, as I could get creative with it. Oanta, I am def going to check out those generators! Oldkid, that is a tough question I like a lot of animals, thats why I just might go with the hybrid idea. Anyway, thanks for all of your help. I always hear people talking against this kind of thing. I never saw myself doing it, but I saw some videos and pics online of ppl doing this stuff. After doing some research, I got more curious about it. I also think it seems like a great way to make more friends :) which is something I could have right about now.
So far everyone has been so nice to me since I joined. I think I am going to enjoy this! So, thanks again everyone! Cant wait till I get this all figured out!

Ok guys, so I quickly used one of the generators, that Oanta has in his signatures. It was quick but this is something I came up with. Not sure if it will look exactly like this, but it will probably be something close to this, at least! Thanks everyone again and thanks for those generators Oanta!

Hey again KevAlex!
Glad we could help :)
Also, what could also help you if you design a hybrid is to write/type down on a list what you like about which animals and other stuff, e.g.:
-shark fin
-kangaroo legs
-fur
-frog legs
-water/aquatic environments
Combine this all in either a nice holistic character (making the various parts blend nicely into one) or create a Frankenstein type of hybrid, showing each parts 'separately' but just attached all to create one body ^^
-
Hey Ventus, I like those ideas!. I def like the shark fin idea, and that lizard tail that I have, in the picture., along with a water environment (I cant swim myself but I do love the beach and stuff). I def want fur. Also, my fursona would be a snowboarder, since I love to snowboard. And of course with green and blue colors (my two most fave colors). I dont think he will be a Frankenstein type body, I want to try and blend it all together.
-
Haha, nice, see? You can come up with a lot of stuff you like to do and have and such! ^^
If your fursona is a snowboarder, you could always take into account that the fur you would give him could be designed in such a way that he is fit for cold temperatures. I would surely look into creatures which reside in cold waters and in cold climates on land, see what other ideas you can come up with :)
And blending together is what I would like to do as well, so I totally understand x3
Once you think you've gotten everything set and you know what 'parts' make up your character, start drawing it (if you want to). Whether you think you can draw or not doesn't matter, as long as you want to have a visual interpretation of your character it doesn't matter :D
-
That is a brilliant idea, theres so much you can do! SO many choices! wolves are def fit in the snow, fox, polar bears, penguins... LOL I can prob get away with keeping the two colors i like along with white, gray fur with some black. As far as my drawing skill.... Well, lets just say its not the best :D I will do my best on that part though! Im really getting into this, the more I work on figuring out my fursona!

If it makes you feel better it took me a few years to figure out styxx but I can't draw, so I had to commission someone. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome because they knew what I wanted and styxx became real. And look at him now. He is a jackal/ibizan hound hybrid. As far as I know only of his kind too. I got the idea from anubis, and I loved jackals as they are both family and lone wolf oriented l, they are also very strong willed and majestic, like a warrior (to me atleast lol)
-
thanks Styxx. I dont want to rush this at all! I would probably get to overwhelmed, since it seems as if there is sooo many things you can do with this. I def will take my time, and making sure it is what I want. So far the ideas I have I like! :D
-
That's awesome. And trust me I have had many revisions for styxx, he was even a staffy lol as long as you have fun and spread the love/happiness that's all that matters in my books lol
