She's in the hospital now, the doctor said the second time she cut a vein in her throat half way, but she'll live. I'm still worried though, I don't know how to handle this can somefur give me advice on how to keep her from killing herself and to help me handle what happened?

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do to keep her from killing herself. That's something she has to handle on her own, but you can be supportive of her when she needs it and encourage her to see a professional for her mental health. Basically, be supportive but be aware that you can't solve all of her problems. If you can, visit her. If she gets to where she wants to harm herself while she is with you, try to engage in something that is distracting. Keep her grounded if you can and focused on the now.

Suicide is a drastic action for anyone to take. It is usually the result of an immense, inescapable pain someone has been feeling for sometime; death seems like the only way out.
Now, I'm not going to say that I'm an expert on this. But if I were you, I would comfort her as much as possible, and make it abundantly clear that I'd be there for her. I would try to dig into her, and understand why she attempted suicide. I would do whatever I could do to maybe solve the problem, or at least make it less painful. Whatever you do, do not abandon her.
Ultimately, getting professional help would be optimal.

If I were you, I'd hug her til she asked me to stop. Hugs are always nice. But, if your friend is still suicidal, put her in therapy. Big time. HUGE AMOUNT OF MENTAL HELP FOR YOUR BFF. NEVER LET HER DOWN. BE LOYAL. FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC, BRO.
Do not think I'm lightening anything, this is serious. I do not want her to die because of her pain. If she's hurting, maybe a little silly something like a kitty or a surprise would help, especially the kitty. Kitties are cute. Other than that, give her some peeps for therapy. I pray for y'all.

While you need to be supportive of your friend, you also need to look into professional help as this seems like something you cannot do alone. Contact your local Suicide Prevention Help Hotline or a professional mental help therapist for further assistance.

Thank you all for the help, but she is refusing to go into therapy and have no idea what to do. But thank you all!

Update: so the doctors let my friend out of the hospital but she still has a bandage on her throat and bandages on her wrists. She's healing well, but hardly eats. Thank you all for your concern.

Y'all have my condolences.
