if you were able to: what school subject would you create for a school, and what would a student study in it? Please do not use this to be rude to someone, this is meant to be a HUMOROUS, thread.
Id create: Hardstyle Physics, the study of the hardstyle music genre!
-
I would create a class called "Reality"
-
dont forget to type what youd learn in it!
-
You'd learn about how things really are. It would be a very offence and politically incorrect.
-
id create Furology! learning of the lifestyle of different furry species!
-
Critical thinking could be a nice one.
Way too many seem to be happy to just nod and agree with what they're being told without giving it too much extra afterthought.
Should be pretty self-explanatory.

As for me, I'd say we need a lot more programming classes. It's becoming more and more useful in today's job market.

LIFE0000: Life skills
A high school course that teaches important life skills such as paying taxes, superannuation, getting a loan, and so forth. A very pragmatic course taught in early years, like 10 or so.
PROG0000:
Programming course for kiddies, people still in middle school. Teaches elementary programming concepts but has more of a focus on problem solving and solving problems in an algorithmic kind of way. Ask the kids silly questions like "How many slices of toast can fit in this room" and see how they go about attempting to solve the question, try to make them aim for a more algorithmic problem solving approach. Going from problem solving you then start to teach a bit of logic and going from that start to teach syntax and programming. Too many schools just teach syntax without the problem solving/logical approach to it

THIS PLEASE
-
Scientific Principles - a class going over the scientific process, how studies and experiments are done, and how peer review is done. The entire shebang. Also goes over analysis of studies and experiments.
I would make this to reduce scientific illiteracy, and for people to better understand stuff like statistics.
Local History - a class going over the history of the state/province you live in. Lets face it, how must specific state history do you know?
-
Basic how-to-adult class is always a must, but people have already posted that :p
I would love to see a practical class on how to interact with other people. How to talk to people, make friends, deal with people who are being rude or offensive, and how to improve on being socially awkward. Would have helped me a lot ^^'
-
Wouldn't public speaking be like that?
-
I second what Amethyst said.
Society assumes that children automatically learn social skills when they're young. Except, many don't. A class like this would benefit those children a lot.
@Vinny
Not necessarily. Public speaking doesn't go over how to be social, but it does relate to it.
-
Wouldn't public speaking be like that?
I'm taking interpersonal communication this semester, but it like some other classes is just listening to a teacher and taking notes. I mean actually having hands-on experience and stuff. Like everyday chit-chat or making acquaintances. Some speech classes also teach you how to make public speeches, but that's not quite the same either.
-
I was just wondering. I'm taking PS next semester, and it sounds similar to that. Maybe I'm just dumb haha
-
Metal history 1010
The history of and evolution of metal from the 80s to the present
-
Offensive class
It teaches you not to blindly follow society and how not to be offended at everything

People keep saying this. 2edgy4me
How about a research-type class where we learn to use multiple sources and find objective info on things like current events and history instead of just learning the quantitative (yet biased) facts listed in a textbook?
-
APATH101: Learn the basics of apathy and how you can stay on the fence
THOT101: Learn to deal with Thots, and/or Ratchet hoes
BBC(BitchesBeCryin')101: Learn what to do should bitches be cryin' to you. The type of bitch that cries to you can vary, and you certainly don't wanna help out a nasty bitch by mistake.
IDGAF101: A class where you can do what you want because as if you gave a fvck in the first place
-

-

College-kid-living-alone 101: Just teaches you useful stuff for living on your own or just being a little more independent. Like how to cook cheap but healthy meals, basic sewing/cleaning/repair skills, some self-defense, first-aid, finances etc.
Nap time 203: Hm, maybe you have a gap in your schedule, so you can just go to this class to relax and rest for a bit from taking tests and listening to lectures. Includes lots of fluffy mattresses, blankets, pillows, sofas, stuffed animals, snacks and maybe some quiet music :p
-
Adulting 101- how to prepare for the kick in the pants that is being an adult.

PA:B - Passive Aggression: Beginner.
Learn the basics of passive aggression, and put it to practice to hone your skills in the art of Buttmunchness.

But why!?
-
Doomsday course.
Are you scared of wars? Death? How about anyone of a foreign race? Well, you've come to the right place. Learn how to do stuff to live, kill other people, and be the coolest survivor around the radioactive town!
:)
-
^ I like it since most kids at my school don't know shit about guns nor things they would do during a war...
Anywho, a Self Defense class since I know for a fact most of the kids at my school don't know how to defend themselves if there is ever some stranger trying to kidnap, rape, hurt you. How to get duct tape, or rope off. how to get help when something like that happens. Ect.

Learning stuff 101
A class where you learn how to learn better. It sounds silly, but then again, it kinda sounds useful. Learning to learn more efficiently.

AD:101- Avoiding Debt : 101- manditory personal finance class for college freshman that teaches you hoe to go through life[or atleast college] without incurring any debt
-
AD:101- Avoiding Debt : 101- manditory personal finance class for college freshman that teaches you hoe to go through life[or atleast college] without incurring any debt
But avoiding all debt is literally impossible and unrealistic. Since you probably don't have enough money upfront to buy things such as cars and houses, you'll have to take out a loan and incur debt. This is especially true for college tuition. Some debt is fine; it becomes problematic if people don't know how to responsibly deal with debt. I would recommend some sort of financial class, but that has been recommended before.
One class I would recommend is "Careers in <Insert Country Here>." This course will aim to teach children about the many jobs that are available and jobs that may need to be filled. This will not only open doors to people who may not have had any idea that such positions and careers exist, but it will reduce unemployment and fill in some jobs that are vital to the country.
-
Um , no its not ive paid for my entire first year of college without going into debt
-
Maybe in your specific case regarding college, but that doesn't mean that most people will be able to avoid debt for their entire lives.

I'd create Rocker class
it would be a lot like band class or choir, but instead of classical instruments, you are taught how do use rock band equipment like electric guitars, bass guitars, drums, vocals, and other equipment.
