Title: Broken record- broken record- broken record-
Post by: Caesium Iodide on November 13, 2015, 06:07:42 AM
Hey all. I've got a few questions relating to the vinyl music junkies out there on the forum because I really need some aid.

Alright, story time.
A few minutes ago, I happily turned on my record player and opened an album filled with vintage records from the 30s. To my misfortune, I turned a sleeve and a HUGE chunk of the record slipped out of the sleeve. I checked all four of my records, to find they are broken. How were they broken? Probably a few months ago, when I was dancing to some Glenn Miller or someone, I must've stepped on the album, and I didn't immediately check the records right away. So now. My question.

These are the heavy, vintage plate records, and I feel like the answer is a no, but is there any way to fix one of these records? I'm extremely distraught about this and very disappointed in myself.

Would I need to find someone who would be capable of fixing the records? Because I'm seriously upset. /cri noa/

If I have more questions I'll post them hereā€¦
Thank you for any help that you may have to offer!
Happy Trails...~

I'm sure its possible
You may even be able to make something yourself

Mp3s weren't the first thing to be pirated. People would pour wax over their records to make a relief and use that as a base to pour a new record. The quality wasn't always as good as the original, but they managed to churn out copies of the original.

You may be able to find someone who can do that or you can try yourself. I wonder if there isn't a vinyl forum with a community that can help you out.
