Title: Furry Media "Musts"
Post by: Silentium Potens on November 10, 2015, 01:41:53 AM
I'm new to the fandom, so I was wondering:  what furry media would be considered a must for anyone within the fandom?

This could be an online comic, a movie, a game, et cetera et cetera.

Skin Deep is a really nice comic, written by a really nice author. It's the reason I'm here actually.

Regarding Comics, I would say Rukis' "Cruelty" and its sequel "Unconditional" are probably two of the best ones I've read.

What defines furry media?

Yea, I did a poor job of describing it.  I guess you could also say any piece of entertainment involving furry stuffs.

As for everyone else, thanks for the replies.  I'll be sure to look into it all.

Just wondering because I find the RPG EverQuest 2 (not 1, there's quite the difference) is a great game in regards to furry-ness. Lots of non-humanoid races in the game, and none of them acknowledged as "weird" or different from the humanoids. (As opposed to TES, where "cat" and "lizard" are slurs for people of certain races...not that I don't love Skyrim)

Yea, games are perfectly fine.  I'd actually like to know more furry games, since I only know of a few of them.

Also, movie and show recommendations are welcomed.

Games with anthro characters (playable)-
Guild wars 2 (good mmo game)
dust elysian tail (good game)
Sly cooper
Star fox
Spyro
Everquest
Sonic (or as i like to say Sanic)

There are also games that aren't really furry by the social belief but here they are-
Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Dexter
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (and rescue etc.)
Kingdom Hearts

Movie/Show-
You are really looking at the bottom of the barrel here, it's very unlikly that you would find anything "furry"-
Almost every pixar, Dreamworks and Disney Movies.

Anime-
Arashi no Yoru ni
Buta
Ginga Nagareboshi Gin
Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru
Gingitsune
Guskou Budori no Denki
Kaiketsu Zorori
Legendz: Yomigaeru Ryuuou Densetsu
Meitantei Holmes
Onmyou Taisenki
Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki
Shirokuma Cafe
Of course you can include pokemon, sword art online, log horison, the bloody board/card games that become anime (e.g. yu gi oh)

Comics and stories (also Animations)-

Now here is where the Furry community shines
Here is the best site looking for comics

You will have to search a bit for the novels, but sites like furaffinity have a treasure trove. As for animations will i some but they aren't really worth mentioning, if anyone knows please post i would like to know

Arashi no Yoru ni
THIS.
This has remained one of my favorite movies throughout many years, I've seriously watched it more times than I can remember!

I remember seeing something about that movie sometime ago.  I'll definitely put that on my "to watch" list.

I've actually played Freedom Planet before.  It was good, but the dialogue was cringey and the difficulty spiked fast towards the end.
