Title: Fursuiting in a Smoking Home?
Post by: Loote on October 21, 2015, 10:16:42 AM
I'm really enthusiastic about trying to make my first fursuit. The payoff seems amazing, and i'd love to be able to wear them with my friends. The only problem is, I live in a smoking home, and my parents won't stop smoking. I've tried everything to convince them, but the most that happens is that they use electronic cigarettes for a short while, then go back to normal ones.

I really want to make my fursuit, but the character i'm hoping to make has quite a lot of white in their design, and I really don't want it to yellow due to smoke, or to get tainted with the smell. Does anyone know any ways I could avoid this, if at all?

Thank you c:

All I can think of if the house has a basement.
Otherwise if you don't perhaps know anyone who would let you use their space.

We have a garage in our home, which might work. Thank you for your advice c:

Won't closing the door to your room keeps the smoke out? :o

I practically live with my door shut, but I can't tell if it actually helps or not, due to me being so used to the smoke scent. I'm going to try airing out my room more often, and I might invest in something to get rid of the smoke smell. Thank you for your idea c:

You could store it in an airtight container, but you'd have to make sure to keep it well maintained
Just food for thought
