It was like any other day, as a group of young furry teens made their way down a long drive way that led to a massive mansion, covered in vines and rotting paint. It was in the evening, and the owner of the mansion have given them the keys to enter her home so that they could clean it. It seemed like a simple task for the teens.... But little did they know of the secrets that hid in the complex... As well as it's horrors...

Xia could not help but whistle as she steppef out of the van. Fifty floors. FIFTY. Who in the blazes has fifty floors on a mansion?
She was so thankfull that she wasnt here to actually clean this place. After all...if a person could afford to live in such a large mansion then surely they can afford to decorate it with something expensive...and easily over look so many precious expensive items if they were to dissapear.
The reptile giggled to herself as she took in the sight. She was probibly the oldest of the car group, probibly the most well fed as well. Her red and gold body had a pear shape to it, her tail and rump were thick and some of the gold scales along her pot belly began to split, exposing a sliver of the black skin between them.
"Alright you lot. You coming or not? We got work to do!" Xia called back to the van. It was the first time she met them...and probbibly going to be the last...so she didnt bother to learn their names on the way here...

*Gaia stepped out of the van as well, looking a bit sheepishly at the mansion ahead. She wondered why such a big and expensive mansion was so... Dead looking. It puzzled her, and she stook close to the van, waiting for the resr* Gaia: Uhm... This place looks haunted...
*Gaia was probably the cutest and most innocent fur in the group. She wore a white skirt and t-shirt, decorated with tulips and other flowers. Her leather jacket on top hid her upper body. She was slim around all areas and also probably had the most fragile frame out of anyone in the group. Fit for cleaning, an other tasks, but nothing overly strenuous. Her fur was orange all over, minus her white belly and palms. The inside of her ears and the soles of her feet where also white. Her hair was long and untied, gracefully floating in the wind. Her eyes are green, and her feet where hidden by a black pair of shoes. She took time to memorise everyone's names on the way here*

Ray stepped out of the van, lugging a large bag of cleaning supplies, utensils, et cetera. He stopped beside Gaia, and hitched the bag up higher. "W-Well...w-we b-better get s-s-started, r-right?" The young raccoon looked terrified, his normally purple fur had seemed to pale upon arrival of the mansion, and he shook visibly, albeit slightly. Ray looked around at the group, secretly hoping they would cancel the plans and leave.

At the very front porch of the oddly eerie building, a pink note was taped at the front door... As well as some roses and a pink cupcake two feet in front if the door.

Alegra sighed as she got out of the van. This would take forever. A teenage fur had to have a life after all. She wore blie denim shorts and a 'come at me bro' tee. But she was getting paid, paid well. The mansion was fifty floors high, and looked like an old house from a horror movie.

*Gaia decided to stick close to Ray. While she was a bit nervous, she thought she'd do what she does best and give some moral support* Gaia: Hey, did you need help with the bags?

Xia looked with disdain at the cleaning supplies. Still she had to keep up appearences. Returning to the van she grabbed her own cache of supplies, namely a mop bucket filled with cleaner, rags and soaps. And of course zip lock bags....just incase she needed to hide anything in the murky water of the soap bucket.
Moving away from the group and towards the steps the reptile let the bucket down to pick up the cupcake. A firm believer in the 'first come first serve' rule Xia ate from the cup cake as she read the note...

The note read....
Good evenening, children! I'm so happy that you children decided to take care of my home during my trip to Moscow! Being the busy old woman I am, I require more arms to clean around. Hehehe! Anywhays, you children can start with the first floor by cleaning all the dust off of everything. Also, since I was in such a hurry, I accodently forgot something on the fiftieth floor. Foolish old me! So farewell with taking care of my home and good luck!
P.s., you might wanna bring some flashlights, food, medicine and weapons with you when heading to the top floor. Just a suggestion!

"Weapons? Medicine?" Alegra said, reading over Xia's shoulder. "Is it just me, or does that make this job a whole heap more creepy."

Xia shrugged and crumpled the paper before tossing it over her shoulder, "It just means we are working for a lady with some bats in the belfry. I wouldn't look into it too much." The lizard scoffs down the cupcake, licking her claws clean. Oh she is totally going to rob the kitchen first now, if even half of the food here is as tasty as that cup cake.
"Hey guys. Let's head in. The old battle axe wants us to pick up something on the 50th floor for her." Xia was ok running the errend first. It gave her the excuse to scout the place out with out actually working.
The lazy lizard then stepped bravely through the door.

Ray shook his head. "N-No...i-it's not bad." He started towards the mansion. "L-Let's get t-to work."

*Gaia smiled a tad bit and nodded* Gaia: Alright, tough guy~ *She skipped forward a bit coming to the door* So Uhm... How are we going to go about clening all 50 floors?

The interior of the mansion was magnificent, with expencive looking furniture, amazing rugs, and beautifuly panted walls. However the building looked to have been abandoned for quite some time, and was covered with dust and cobwebs.

Xia cringed. Absolutely cringed. It was imaginable that with 50 floors cleaning would not always be the easiest thing to manage. But for the lobby to be in such a state of decay?
She was so-o-o not cleaning this.
Turning to face the other cleaners the plump lizard claps her paws, "What an excelent question! How will we clean alll these floors? I say we start at the top, work our way down. Seems more efficient that way..."

Ray furrowed his brow, as he stepped cautiously inside. "I-It'd be easier to start at the b-bottom, wouldn't i-it? I-I mean, w-we're already h-here."

*Gaia nods* Gaia: I don't like the look of this place, but we may as well start at the bottom. Going up all those stairs would be a tad bit on the tedious side, so we may as well get the individual floors done. I'll be on rug duty I guess... *Gaia looks around, both pleased and creeped out. She liked the look of the place... but it felt surreal. She decided to ignore the bad vibes she was getting for now*

"Errrrr... Rrright. I'll just, um, do something productive." She shuffled back, trying to stay out of sight.

As they began cleaning the seemingly abandoned floor, a faint gust of hot air could be felt...

Xia scowls. It seems she would be cleaning this floor after all.
Blast.
Taking out a duster yhe young lizard grumbles inchoerently as she moves across the room, keeping an eye out for side rooms she can slip into, search and loot with out being in the line of sight of others. She pauses however when the gust of warm air hits her.
"Oi! Thanks to who ever turned on de heat. It was getting chilly in hear."

*Gaia turned back to Alegra* Gaia: You can be on table sweeping duty. Chairs too. *Gaia herself was about to get ready with the vacuum, until the warm air hits here* Gaia: Odd... Did any of you guys turn on the heating in this place...?

Ray blinked. "I-I didn't hear the f-furnace turn on."

The gust of heat, as well as a faint smell of burning wood, seemed to be coming from the living room, behind a oddly new looking cabinet.

"What was that?" Alegra looked up from where she had been half heartedly scrubbing the skirting boards. She stood up, dropping her sponge onto the floor.

Xia is hardly paying attention at this point. Her body is twisted around the corner of a room, gut sagging as she leans forward slightly.
"Right right," she waves off handedly to the party as she takes in the room. Dust. Books. Tables. Chairs. More dust. Dust seems to fill every nook and crevous. It permiates the air as much as the smell of wood burning.
Wait...
The red reptiles head snaps around to the party, "Alright which one of you nuckle heads is trying to burn the house down?" They better not burn the house down before she loots it. After though...now there is an idea...

"None of us, I don't think so." She looked at the cupboard, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.

*Gaia began to get a bit frightened* Gaia: No one here would've been able to sneak behind the cupboard... or inside... We've only just come in... *Gaia looks at the cupboard and slowly backed towards the door*

As they investigated the cabinet, they could hear a strange creaking spund coming from behind it. It was almost as if a secret compartment was behind it.... It was almost as if whatever was behind the cabonet writhed to be discovered.

Standing behind Gaia the Lizard notices for the first time that something truely is amis. Cabinats dont make noises like this...
They dont make noises at all!
"What are you lot afraid of? Its probibly just a mouse." The fat reptile tries to scoot Gaia towards the unusual cabinate. "You should totally check it out."

"Mice don't create heat waves, idiots" Alegra sghed and face palmed. "I'm really having trouble believing its a mouse." She walked over to Gaia. "If you could find out what that is, please do. Just-" She shoved Gaia towards the closet. "-just do something. Ok?"

*Gaia pushes Alegra back a bit* Gaia: Can people stop pushing me around!? Geez... Are all of your uncultured, rude, impulsive...? *She decided to stop before she even really started, knowing she would run her mouth for ages. She began mumbling to herself as she bitterly walked towards the closet* Stupid fire... Stupid parents wanting me to get a stupid job...

"The only reason I'm doing this is because I need the money. I don't think any of us really care about being rude right now." Alegra stepped back as Gaia walked towards the cupboard.

Behind the cabonet, they found a door. Although it was rather fancy and looked to be from the victorian era, it was also burnt and had small chars on it. The door also had a golden "1" on it...

Alegra looked pointedly at Xia. "So your magical fire breathing mice managed to burn through a solid wooden door." She then turned to Gaia. "Well, open it."

*Gaia looked at the door and suddenly got the creeps* Gaia: M-M-Maybe we should just go back to cleaning....?

Xia rolls her eyes to both cleaners. True, something was...wrong here. Her insticts told her to back away and leave this place altogether. But if she listened to common sense then she wouldn't be a good thief would she?
...possibly....maybe...piint is there is something odd here. Odd things usually led to treasure...like a hidden safe.
"OH quit being a pansy." She growls, reaching for the inner door to open it..."Im sure its just some...fancy air conditioning controller..." yeah...totally it.

On the other side of the door, there was a long victorian themed hallway with victorian styled lanterns on the walls. The hallway looked to have been chard and badly burnt from a fire, but the sound of music could be ears at the end of the hallway.

*Gaia looks down the hallway* Gaia: I suddenly get the feeling we're not the only ones in this house...

"Uh... Yeah... Um, so what should we do from here?" Alegra looked down the hallway. Her skin prickled from the heat coming from it. She sighed, and realized something. "Oh you guys. Can't you see this is a stupid hoax? This lady has a ton of money. She probably just wanted to prank some kids who were coming to clean her house." Alegra walked confidently down the corridor.

The moment they began to walk away from the door, the felt the house begin to shake. Like an earthquake, debre and ruble began to fall from the ceiling as the house started t crumble. The only thing that wasn't falling apart was the door they opened.

If it was a hoax, it was a pretty good one. Xia lets out a hiss as a part of the wall very nearly squashes her flat. She pulls her tail out of the way and lets out a high pitched scream. "Gang way!"
It was almost comical, seeing the portly lizard try to fit herself into the hallway while the other cleaner was already there...

*Gaia yelped and bolted down the hallway as fast as she could, avoiding all the debris falling behind her*

Alegra looked around frantically. An earthquake? She looked down the hallway that still seemed to be mostly unharmed. "Well, I suppose." She muttrred to herself, and continued walking.

As the girls rushed into the hallway, the building collapsed behind them as the door was about to slam shut. Now, all they could hear was the sound of a record player...

Ray moved about the entry room, trying to avoid debris as he looked for a way out.

Alegra whirled on the door as it slammed shut. The music made the mansion feel erie. She started walking again.

At the end of the hallway, she entered a large, victorian styled room full of chard furnature and paint. The the place looked as if it had suffered from a fire ages ago, and was now long abandoned. On a table in that very room, sat a note...

Xia stumbled out of the hallway next. She flopped, falling onto her belly. "What in the blazes was THAT?" The lizard pulled herself up to a sitting position, coughing out dust. "Time for a head count, are you lot ok?" Xia was heartless but not devoid of some level of decency. "Are we missing anyone?"

*Gaia sheepishly walked over to the table and picked up the bite, carefully reading it*

The note was a police report from the early victorian era that read:
August 21, 1853, the infinious Chimney Sweeper Killer has claimed yet another family. Reports show that, like all of his past killings, came from the chimney of this home, and did away with the family by slitting their throats while they were asleep. The family he most recently murdered had three children and a single father. That sick bastard.
Then, he stole all the valuables the family had and escaped from where he came from; though the chimney. This is the tenth family this monster has murdered. And I'll be damned to let him kill off another.

*Gaia gulped and held onto her throat, basically at tears from fright. She frantically looked for a chimney*

Alegra lookee at the note. "Just a hoax." She said, her voice frightened. She shivered and wraped her wings around herself.

With the door they came from closed, there had to be a way out of this seemingly abandoned building they were in.

The lizard by now finished coughing dust and debris out of her lungs. "What kind of dusty death trap is this? Forget ste- er...CLEANING this place. I'm sueing for damages!"
Picking herself up and dusting herself off the pudgy lizard turns to her fellow cleaners. They seem...afraid. Given the circomstances she can relate. But then she sees the note and raises an eyebrow. "Well don't just keep us alll in suspence, what does the note say, er....um..." it comes to Xia's attention that she doesn't even remember their names. A dangerous problem should she have to call out for them in this dangerous building. "I'm afraid the build falling in on us knocked my memory loose a bit. What are your names?"

*Gaia looked at Xia* Gaia: M-M-My n-name is G-Gaia.... *She handed the note over to Xia, not wanting to have to repeat what she read*

"Mines Alegra. Umm..." She trailed off. "This place is sorta creepy."

"Gia and Algera." The lizard responded as she takes the note and reads over it quickly enough. Mostly she skims. Suddenly the warning to bring weapons is starting to seem less and less like a joke. "Ah see, well ain't this all lovely. We should probbibly stick together then. Safety in numbers and all that jaz." The lizard casts her gaze about the room and realizes something.
"We are missing someone...the...the raccoon." She let loose a loud hiss, "Alright. Spread out. Find him and return here. If you run into trouble call out for help." So that she can run the other way, thinks Xia.

*Gaia stuck close to Alegra. Xia was waaaay too relaxed for this* Gaia: Y-Yeah... I think it would be b-better to stick together...

Strangely, Ray saw the door the gang had gone through slowly beginning to creak open, as well as the sound of bones cracking from a room away from him.

The fat lizard rolled her eyes, "Fine fine we stick together...bunch of pansys." Xia began to move through each room peering inside for their lost comrad and searching for a possible exit.
Her heart sunk as nothing but ash and dust seemed to greet her. She cupped her claws together, shouting, "Hey! Raccoon guy whoes name I totally remember! Where are you? Hello?"
She growls, "He might be burried in the rubble and we would never know..."
