Title: Advice for a Beginner.
Post by: Cecilia Peromi on August 05, 2015, 12:36:25 PM
Part of why I like being a furry is because I love creating huge, epic-like stories with engaging anthro characters. The problem, however, is that I've only done those things in my head. I always think "I should write that down, it sounds amazing". or "This would be a good book or movie". Now that I'm here, I finally have that chance, but I'm nervous. Where do I start? Are there things I should consider before I start typing away?

Just type away! You can always change wordings afterwards =)

For writing I'd say spelling and grammar is important. After all it's difficult to read if you have to guess every single word.

Alrighty then! Readability is why I never did this with pencil and paper, my handwriting is not the best.

Thanks for the help!

Write, keep writing until you can't write any more, then keep writing anyway. I fancy myself a writer and I have stories as well, but haven't committed any to paper, so I am kind of in the same boat I guess?

Anyway, practice practice practice! Also expose yourself to critique by letting other people see your work. As long as they are not jerks you can use their feedback to improve. After all, other people will want to read this someday, right?

Here is something
Write down what you have in your head create epic scenes or very werid scenes that are come instantly to your mind when your thinking it took me a while to use this method and that has helped alot with many things outside narratives.
, and don't thibk of using fancy words if you are on the Internet searching for another word for said then your soing it wrong

Here's a thing, write your ending first. Then, figure out how the characters get there. Now, the hard part is done and you can start polishing.
