Title: Spine bruises?
Post by: Farewell on August 02, 2015, 06:26:51 AM
Greetings I'm Zaida, So like the topic says... But first off I have scoliosis although it's not even that bad or noticeable unless your staring at my back. Really it's not even a percentage... Anyways on topic I have a few bruises and looks like it's from my spine...
Now I don't want to get worked up but is that normal? Is it because my small bit of scoliosis? Or something that I need to get checked out at the doctors? Thanks.

Bruising would either be caused by typical impact trauma or something else more obscure/recent. Either way, if it is notabld in size or shape, you should get a doctor to check it out. Spinal injuries, or distinct injuries along your spine, are not to be taken lightly. It is especially important to get it checked if you have preexisting spinal abnormalities, no matter how minor they might be.

Is the bruising consistent? Is it painful? Does it cover a large area along your spinal column?

Well my doctor did tell me about my scoliosis. No it's the first time... Or maybe I just noticed, not at all, and it's small but is shaped as my spine

Small as in an inch, or several inches?

Shouldn't be much of an issue. You probably just got hit by something unnoticable, or bumped into a wall. If it becomes increasingly painful or acts abnormally for a bruise, take additional steps to make sure it is not something serious.
