Are there any other Dwarf Fortress players here? Surely there must be at least one other person here besides me who plays it.

I dabble in it every now and then, but I'm terrible at management :P


As soon as I get my fortress to a reasonable size, it all falls apart. Whether by vampire or food shortage, its always bittersweet

For me the tough part has always been getting my military up and running. Thankfully I finally figured it out. The interface for it can be really onerous for a beginner. I did get lucky though in that I am in an area where goblins can't reach me, so maybe that is part of it.

I play it with a friend on adventure mode occasionally. Its probably the most hilariously difficult game I've played since darksouls 2.

I got back in yesterday after a bit of a hiatus. Trying to catch up with a fortress that was already running is always a daunting prospect.

just played it not but twenty minutes ago. the combat in adventure mode in to die for-

"You bit the goblins left eyelid from behind. the goblins left eyelid is bruised."

yeah it's great! i forgot how adventure mode was and decided to play it again!

when you toss a decapitated lion's head at a heavily armored elf and the head tears though him and kills a gopher behind him you definitely have found a good game. XD
