I'm thinking of doing an RP based in the world of the Metro novels and games. You don't necessarily need to know that much about the world as I plan to be a sort of guide character, maybe a seasoned traveler or something.
Here's a summery of the world of Metro though, just in case:
Metro is set in the underground railway system/bunker that is the Moscow Metro System. It takes place after an assumed world war lead nukes to be dropped on Russia and many citizens of Moscow fled to the metro tunnels in a bid to survive. The outside world is dangerous, irradiated and full of mutants, some of which inhabit the tunnels as well. The worst of which is the Dark Ones, a rising threat which seems to be almost invincible if rumours are to be believed. As if that isn't enough there are, naturally, disagreements amongst many of the different stations which are now inhabited especially between the warring Fourth Reich nazis, The communist Red Line which cuts through most of the metro's center and the Hanza trading group that has been, until recently, enemies of the Red Line. There is one beacon of hope in all of this. The city of Polis, a group of four stations in the very center of the metro, where knowledge and scholars are still valued and the rangers enforce the laws. It represents the hope that one day, the moscovites will leave the metro and rebuild.
So far I am thinking of a basic plotline of:
-There are rumours spreading about an important historical document that relates to either the Red Line (Communists) or Fourth Reich (Nazis) being found, for example maybe a Marxist document or a copy Mien Kampf or something. Both of those factions want it for their own purposes.
-The news reaches our home of Riga Station, part of the VDNKh (this word is sometime just said as "Exhibition") Commonwealth (The commonwealth is a group of three stations that joined up to avoid annexation) and a poor station in need of a lot of aid from the Hanza (A trading alliance that makes a ring around the center of the metro) and is currently suffering from overpopulation. At least one of our characters sees this news as a way to get out of the station and do something with their life. We all have our own reasons for wanting the document or coming along.
-This news has sparked increased tension in the already on-going war effort between the Reds and the Fourth Reich, and the Hanza is also becoming increasingly wary of it's old enemy on the Red Line
- The main goals will be to A: Find and secure the document B: Try to decide what to do with it and then get it done. Of course we will run into trouble along the way.
There will be a couple rules due to our starting station due to the lore:
1: Most if not all of us will have to be Russian and originally from Riga station, the commonwealth isn't very immigrant-friendly.
2: If you're an adult male then you will probably have at least a little knowledge of how to handle and maintain a firearm as all adult men must take up Armed Watch in the tunnels leading to VDNHk
Now that is out of the way, is anyone interested?

Awesome. Would just like to add that if I put in too much metro talk and there's anything people might want filling in on before they consider joining all they have to do is ask me and I'll fill them in as much as I can. :)

Well, the plan is to start in Riga Station, which is quite a ways from Polis. However we may end up there at some point later in the RP and I would not object to you being a ranger that may join us for whatever reason. I guess it's also possible the Rangers would want to get the document too so that neither the Reds nor the Reich use it for whatever they want. (For those who don't know the rangers are like the police force of Polis, they also have people who scavenge on the surface called "stalkers" and generally kill bandits and mutants.)

I could be a stalker who heads to Riga. I mean, it doesnt make sense for them not to allow in stalkers, especially those from polis

It would make sense if you are passing through to head to VDNHk or something, due to the Dark ones. So sure. Oh forgot to mention earlier so I'll say it here. I am looking for people who will want to see this to the end or until they have a reasonable out such as dying et cetera

Whoooo! That should be more than enough. So this is now closed and will become the OOC thread. Now that we have enough people, we should probably make character sheets to establish who is going to be whom.
For Example mine is:
Name: Aleksander (commonly refered to as Alek)
Gender: Male
Species: Wolf
Age: 32
Build: Compared to a lot of people in Riga he is on the slightly bulkier side but not quite over weight.
Background: Like most people in their thirties or above, Aleksander is old enough to remember what it was like to see the bombs fall on his home city, a luxury many of the people in their twenties don't have as they were still children. He settled down in Riga station almost as soon as he could. He made a reputation traveling as a trader between the Hanza and the VDNKh Commonwealth for a few years now and has recently "retired" so to speak. He decided that travelling was dangerous and has chosen to settle down for good in his home station of Riga.

So before I start putting together a CS what do you think is necessary? And also can i play a sort of "insane" little girl that tags along. I just think it could be pretty fun.

I made a CS for my character as an example. Lugging a child would be super dangerous especially given that there are things in the Metro universe which specifically target the youngest members of groups.

Gender: Male
Species: Wolf
Age: 23
Build: bulky, but its muscles, not fat
Background: Angder grew up in Riga, but hates the place, he wishes to escape, to see the world properly, his dream is to one day leave the tunnels.... he heard there were other cities before the fall... perhaps some of them, are still intact. naturally reckless and at times a bit stupid, its only a matter of time before he leaves Riga...

Name: Kazbek Nicolayev
Gender: Male
Species: East European Shepherd
Age: 21
Build: He is smaller and weaker than most Stalkers like his brother, Foma. But this is somewhat of an advantage in stealthy missions or climbing through small tunnels.
Background: Born and raised in Polis after the war, both kazbek and his brother joined the Polis stalkers at a young age with his brother, learning from some of the best stalkers in the entire metro. He specialised in stealth and sabotage rather than regular combat like most stalkers. Kazbek is fascinated with the past and the world above the surface and loves his position despite its dangers. He is a hard fighter and fiercely protective of friends and family.
Weapons:
-Suppressed AKS-74U Carbine
-Suppressed Makarov pistol
(Stumtruppen Shepherd and I are brothers in this rp)

Just realised that the ranger/stalkers would probably also be looking for the document, for two reasons. They most likely don't want either the Reich or the Red Line to gain anymore influence plus the fact that they try to find literature about the past to take to he scholars of Polis if I remember correctly.
I did not realise how many of the factions would be possibly interested in a piece of literature XD

Name: Foma Nicolayev
gender: Male
Species: East European Shepherd
Age:21
Build: He is relatively strong, though that is par for the course with the rigorous physical training they give most of the Polis Kshatryia.
Background: Being born and raised in Polis leads Foma to be in quite good shape, free from the mutations that plague many tunnel dwellers. Once he came of age, both he and hus brother decided to join the Polis Kshatryia, and due to their skills, they were deemed fit to be stalkers, and not just guards in the metro.
Foma honestly doesn't care much about the past, but he does rather love the world above, mostly due to the excitement, exploration, and money that it offers. He, like his brother, likes being a stalker quite a lot, despite the nasty claw mark leading down the left side of his face. Luckily, he kept his eye, but he lost his custom gas mask that he had lifted from the American Embassy. It had a lot of rare stuff. He brought back several rifles that the elders said were "M4A1". And an odd looking pistol that they said was an "M9". Unfortunately, the rifle used an odd caliber, so it was next to useless in the metro.

I should probably mention have not Read or played anything metro related (though I am in regular contact with Grovy over skype and have gained info on the world that way). If I screw up with how the world is, Call me out on it.

Both me and khaki have fairly extensive knowledge of the lore. Myself I've played all of the games, and read the first book in the metro series.

I have also played both games and read the first book. It's been a while though but I remember a good bit of the lore I feel.

I've heard they're similar in some aspects apparently.

Yeah, quite a lot. The anomalies from the metro games are quite similar to the "Tesla" anomalies from STALKER Call Of Pripyat.

Just to let you guys know, I am considering a posing order for when we are all together based off of when we posted in this thread. That means the order will be: Me, Angder, Sturm, Khaki, Drake and then it will loop. If we split off into groups they will be tracked seperately. Also considering giving 24 for someone to post if they haven't notified us that they can't (If you do need us to stop or need to tell us you won't be able to post that'll be fine obviously).
Are there any problems with this?

Skipping wouldn't be too hard if you're in a separate group with Strum at the time, as for when we are all together, well I'm sure we will think of something.
CST comes up when I look for US central time and it says that is 6 hours behind GMT.

Name: Alina
Gender: female
Species: Australian Shepard.
Age: 13
Build: she is fairly thin and petite.
Background: Alina was essentially raised by bandits. Well as well as a bandit can anyway. They taught her how to defend herself and in return they had their way with her. And she hated them for it. Whenever it was possible she would imagine ways to kill them and only recently she acted on those thoughts. Killing all of them and even the other prisoners that they had, she left none of them alive. When she was free she made her way to civilization and tried to live there. She has been living there for almost half a year and she hates it.

Hmm. I'm curious instead of a order can we have it so it's a turn kinda thing?
What i mean by that is. Grovy would post then everyone can post once for that turn. And when grovy posts again we can all ho again. No particular order too.
