I am a 19 year old who has had a mild interest in furries for 6 years of so. I'm not nearly was into it as some people who I've seen on documentaries, but it looks fun. Can somebody tell me more about this community and if I should join?

im quite new to being a furry and i love it so far i make snap decisions and if the decision is yes i put all my cards on the table at once and if its good i will carry on until i hit a brick wall but if not i just forget about it and so far its a brilliant community everyone is friendly and id recommend giving it a go  :)

Are there any conventions in shreveport? It's a pretty conservative area.

Hmm conventions there, not quite sure. I'm not a good expert with conventions but if there isn't I suggest you download this app called meet up or if there is a website. You can look up small furry meet ups or sometimes they happen to grow large like conventions ^^ if that helps

Easiest way to learn about the community is to enter into it, and look around.

Generally, the reason I like being a furry is that 90% of the people are friendly.
