I, for one, vote for the salmon as the greatest fish.

I vote Zebrafish.

They're cute and overall awesome.
One could get its body cut off from half its heart down and still survive, even going as far as to regenerate the missing parts of its body. In the larval stages they can even regenerate their brains.
Because of all that and because they're relatively easy to breed and keep in captivity, scientists use them for all kinds of research.
