Title: Can I make a fursuit head out of cardboard?
Post by: Indie Bomb on May 09, 2015, 10:05:17 PM
YOLO

So I'm planning out my first fursuit and I was wondering if i could use cardboard for making my head. Do can I use cardboard or is there another alternative for making a head with upholstery foam?

Anyway I just need some advice from some more experienced people

I don't think cardboard would be a good option at all. It's way too frail, hard to shape right and would get ruined easily if it got wet, for example from rain or even sweat from simply wearing it.

Another option some people use instead of foam is resin, but I believe that's even harder to use than making a foam head.

I strongly agree with cheza, unless your desperate to make one....Try to avoid to make it out of cardboard... Save up money for upholstery foam, or resin. you can even buy an already made resin or foam base and or kits on etsy.
